ایّوب 21

۱ 1 پس ایوب در جواب گفت:

Then Job answered and said:

۲ 2 «بشنوید، کلام مرا بشنوید. و این، تسلی شماباشد.

Hear diligently my speech; and let this be your consolations.

۳ 3 با من تحمل نمایید تا بگویم، و بعد ازگفتنم استهزا نمایید.

Suffer me, that I may speak; and after that I have spoken, mock on.

۴ 4 و اما من، آیا شکایتم نزدانسان است؟ پس چرا بی‌صبر نباشم؟

As for me, is my complaint to man? Or why should I not be impatient?

۵ 5 به من توجه کنید و تعجب نمایید، و دست به دهان بگذارید.

Turn unto me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.

۶ 6 هرگاه به یاد می‌آورم، حیران می‌شوم. و لرزه جسد مرا می‌گیرد.

Even when I remember I am affrighted, and horror hath taketh hold on my flesh.

۷ 7 چرا شریران زنده می‌مانند، پیر می‌شوند و در توانایی قوی می‌گردند؟

Wherefore do the wicked live, become old, yea, wax mighty in power?

۸ 8 ذریت ایشان به حضور ایشان، با ایشان استوار می‌شوند و اولاد ایشان در نظرایشان.

Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.

۹ 9 خانه های ایشان، از ترس ایمن می‌باشد وعصای خدا بر ایشان نمی آید.

Their houses are safe, without fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.

۱۰ 10 گاو نر ایشان جماع می‌کند و خطا نمی کند و گاو ایشان می‌زایدو سقط نمی نماید.

Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.

۱۱ 11 بچه های خود را مثل گله بیرون می‌فرستند و اطفال ایشان رقص می‌کنند.

They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.

۱۲ 12 با دف وعود می‌سرایند، و با صدای نای شادی می‌نمایند.

They sing to the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the pipe.

۱۳ 13 روزهای خود را در سعادتمندی صرف می‌کنند، و به لحظه‌ای به هاویه فرودمی روند. (Sheol h7585)

They spend their days in prosperity, and peacefully they go down to the grave. (Sheol h7585)

۱۴ 14 و به خدا می‌گویند: از ما دور شو زیراکه معرفت طریق تو را نمی خواهیم.

Yet they said unto God: 'Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of Thy ways.

۱۵ 15 قادرمطلق کیست که او را عبادت نماییم، و ما را چه فایده که از او استدعا نماییم.

What is the Almighty, that we should serve Him? And what profit should we have, if we pray unto Him?' —

۱۶ 16 اینک سعادتمندی ایشان در دست ایشان نیست. کاش که مشورت شریران از من دور باشد.

Lo, their prosperity is not in their hand; the counsel of the wicked is far from me.

۱۷ 17 «بسا چراغ شریران خاموش می‌شود وذلت ایشان به ایشان می‌رسد، و خدا در غضب خود دردها را نصیب ایشان می‌کند.

How oft is it that the lamp of the wicked is put out? that their calamity cometh upon them? that He distributeth pains in His anger?

۱۸ 18 مثل سفال پیش روی باد می‌شوند و مثل کاه که گردبادپراکنده می‌کند.

That they are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm stealeth away?

۱۹ 19 خدا گناهش را برای فرزندانش ذخیره می‌کند، و او را مکافات می‌رساند و خواهد دانست.

'God layeth up his iniquity for his children!' — let Him recompense it unto himself, that he may know it.

۲۰ 20 چشمانش هلاکت او را خواهد دید، و از خشم قادر مطلق خواهدنوشید.

Let his own eyes see his destruction, and let him drink of the wrath of the Almighty.

۲۱ 21 زیرا که بعد از او در خانه‌اش او را چه شادی خواهد بود، چون عدد ماههایش منقطع شود؟

For what pleasure hath he in his house after him? seeing the number of his months is determined.

۲۲ 22 آیا خدا را علم توان آموخت؟ چونکه اوبر اعلی علیین داوری می‌کند.

Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing it is He that judgeth those that are high.

۲۳ 23 یکی در عین قوت خود می‌میرد، در حالی که بالکل در امنیت وسلامتی است.

One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet;

۲۴ 24 قدحهای او پر از شیر است، ومغز استخوانش تر و تازه است.

His pails are full of milk, and the marrow of his bones is moistened.

۲۵ 25 و دیگری درتلخی جان می‌میرد و از نیکویی هیچ لذت نمی برد.

And another dieth in bitterness of soul, and hath never tasted of good.

۲۶ 26 اینها باهم در خاک می‌خوابند و کرمها ایشان را می‌پوشانند.

They lie down alike in the dust, and the worm covereth them.

۲۷ 27 اینک افکار شما رامی دانم و تدبیراتی که ناحق بر من می‌اندیشید.

Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.

۲۸ 28 زیرا می‌گویید کجاست خانه امیر، و خیمه های مسکن شریران؟

For ye say: 'Where is the house of the prince? And where is the tent wherein the wicked dwelt?'

۲۹ 29 آیا از راه گذریان نپرسیدید؟ ودلایل ایشان را انکار نمی توانید نمود،

Have ye not asked them that go by the way; and will ye misdeem their tokens,

۳۰ 30 که شریران برای روز ذلت نگاه داشته می‌شوند و درروز غضب، بیرون برده می‌گردند.

That the evil man is reserved to the day of calamity, that they are led forth to the day of wrath?

۳۱ 31 کیست که راهش را پیش رویش بیان کند، و جزای آنچه راکه کرده است به او برساند؟

But who shall declare his way to his face? And who shall repay him what he hath done?

۳۲ 32 که آخر او را به قبرخواهند برد، و بر مزار او نگاهبانی خواهند کرد.

For he is borne to the grave, and watch is kept over his tomb.

۳۳ 33 کلوخهای وادی برایش شیرین می‌شود وجمیع آدمیان در عقب او خواهند رفت، چنانکه قبل از او بیشماره رفته‌اند.

The clods of the valley are sweet unto him, and all men draw after him, as there were innumerable before him.

۳۴ 34 پس چگونه مراتسلی باطل می‌دهید که در جوابهای شما محض خیانت می‌ماند!»

How then comfort ye me in vain? And as for your answers, there remaineth only faithlessness?
