ارمیا 8

۱ 1 استخوانهای پادشاهان یهودا واستخوانهای سرورانش و استخوانهای کهنه واستخوانهای انبیا و استخوانهای سکنه اورشلیم را از قبرهای ایشان بیرون خواهند‌آورد.

At that time, Declareth Yahweh, Shall they bring forth, The bones of the kings of Judah, and The bones of his princes, and The bones of the priests, and The bones of the prophets, and The bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Out of their graves,

۲ 2 و آنهارا پیش آفتاب و ماه و تمامی لشکر آسمان که آنهارا دوست داشته و عبادت کرده و پیروی نموده وجستجو و سجده کرده‌اند پهن خواهند کرد و آنهارا جمع نخواهند نمود و دفن نخواهند کرد بلکه برروی زمین سرگین خواهد بود.

And shall spread them out—To the sun, and To the moon, and To all the host of the heavens, Whom they have loved, And whom they have served, And after whom they have walked, And whom they have sought, And to whom they have bowed themselves down, —They shall not be gathered, Neither shall they be buried, As heaps of dung on the face of the ground, shall they be.

۳ 3 و یهوه صبایوت می‌گوید که تمامی بقیه این قبیله شریر که باقی می‌مانند در هر مکانی که باقی‌مانده باشند و من ایشان را بسوی آن رانده باشم مرگ را بر حیات ترجیح خواهند داد.

Then shall, death, be chosen rather than life, by all the remnant of them that remain, of this wicked family, —in all the places, whither I have driven them, Declareth Yahweh of hosts.

۴ 4 «و ایشان را بگو خداوند چنین می‌فرماید: اگر کسی بیفتد آیا نخواهد برخاست و اگر کسی مرتد شود آیا بازگشت نخواهد نمود؟

Therefore shalt thou say unto them—Thus, saith Yahweh, Will men fall and not arise? Will one turn away, and not come back?

۵ 5 پس چرااین قوم اورشلیم به ارتداد دایمی مرتد شده‌اند وبه فریب متمسک شده، از بازگشت نمودن ابامی نمایند؟

Wherefore hath this people of Jerusalem apostatized with an enduring apostacy, —Taken fast hold of deceit, Refused to come back?

۶ 6 من گوش خود را فرا داشته، شنیدم اما براستی تکلم ننمودند و کسی از شرارت خویش توبه نکرده و نگفته است چه کرده‌ام بلکه هر یک مثل اسبی که به جنگ می‌دود به راه خودرجوع می‌کند.

I hearkened and heard—Not aright, did they speak, —Not a man, repented him of his wickedness, saying, What have I done! They have every one, turned to their course again, Like a horse sweeping on through the battle.

۷ 7 لقلق نیز در هوا موسم خود رامی داند و فاخته و پرستوک و کلنک زمان آمدن خود را نگاه می‌دارند لیکن قوم من احکام خداوندرا نمی دانند.

Even the stork in the heavens knoweth her appointed times, And the turtle and the swallow and the crane, observe the season for coming; But my people know not the just sentence of Yahweh.

۸ 8 چگونه می‌گویید که ما حکیم هستیم و شریعت خداوند با ما است. به تحقیق قلم کاذب کاتبان به دروغ عمل می‌نماید.

How can ye say, Wise, are, we, And the law of Yahweh, is with us? But indeed lo! falsely, hath dealt the false pen of the scribes!

۹ 9 حکیمان شرمنده و مدهوش و گرفتار شده‌اند. اینک کلام خداوند را ترک نموده‌اند پس چه نوع حکمتی دارند.

Ashamed are the wise, dismayed and captured! Lo! the word of Yahweh, have they rejected, And, what wisdom, have, they?

۱۰ 10 بنابراین زنان ایشان را به دیگران خواهم داد و مزرعه های ایشان را به مالکان دیگر. زیرا که جمیع ایشان چه خرد و چه بزرگ پر از طمع می‌باشند و همگی ایشان چه نبی و چه کاهن به فریب عمل می‌نمایند.

Therefore, will I give—Their wives to others, Their fields to such as shall take possession of them, For from the least, even unto the greatest, Every one, is, wholly given to extortion: From the prophet even unto the priest, Every one, dealeth, falsely.

۱۱ 11 وجراحات قوم مرا اندک شفایی داده‌اند چونکه می‌گویند سلامتی است، سلامتی است، با آنکه سلامتی نیست.

And so they have healed the grievous wound of the daughter of my people, slightly, —Saying, Peace! peace! when there was no peace!

۱۲ 12 آیا چون مرتکب رجاسات شدند خجل گردیدند؟ نی ابد خجل نشدند بلکه حیا را احساس ننمودند بنابراین خداوندمی گوید: در میان افتادگان خواهند افتاد و حینی که من به ایشان عقوبت رسانم خواهند لغزید.»

Were they led to turn pale because an abominable thing, they had done? Nay! they did not, at all turn pale Nay! they did not so much as know how to exhibit shame! Therefore, shall they fall among them who are falling, In the time when they are punished, shall they be overthrown, Saith Yahweh:

۱۳ 13 خداوند می‌گوید: «ایشان را بالکل تلف خواهم نمود که نه انگور بر مو و نه انجیر بردرخت انجیر یافت شود و برگها پژمرده خواهدشد و آنچه به ایشان بدهم از ایشان زایل خواهدشد.»

I will, surely remove, them, declareth Yahweh: There shall be no grapes on the vine Nor figs on the fig-tree, Even the leaf, hath faded, Though I have given them these things, they shall pass away from them.

۱۴ 14 پس ما چرا می‌نشینیم؟ جمع بشوید تا به شهرهای حصاردار داخل شویم و در آنها ساکت باشیم. زیرا که یهوه خدای ما ما را ساکت گردانیده و آب تلخ به ما نوشانیده است زانرو که به خداوندگناه ورزیده‌ایم.

Why are, we, sitting still? Gather yourselves together and let us enter the defenced cities And let us be silent there, —For, Yahweh our God, hath put us to silence And made us drink poisoned water, Because we have sinned against Yahweh.

۱۵ 15 برای سلامتی انتظار کشیدیم اما هیچ خیر حاصل نشد و برای زمان شفا و اینک آشفتگی پدید آمد.

A waiting For prosperity, but no welfare, —For a time of healing, but lo! terror.

۱۶ 16 صهیل اسبان او از دان شنیده شد و از صدای شیهه زورآورانش تمامی زمین متزلزل گردید زیرا که آمده‌اند و زمین و هرچه در آن است و شهر و ساکنانش را خورده‌اند.

From Dan, was heard the snorting of his horses At the sound of the neighing of his chargers, the whole land trembled, —Yea they came in and did sat up The land and the fulness thereof, The city, and them who were dwelling therein.

۱۷ 17 زیرا خداوند می‌گوید: «اینک من در میان شمامارها و افعیها خواهم فرستاد که آنها را افسون نتوان کرد و شما را خواهند گزید.»

For behold me! sending among you serpents—vipers which there is no charming, —And they shall fatally bite you declareth Yahweh.

۱۸ 18 کاش که ازغم خود تسلی می‌یافتم. دل من در اندرونم ضعف بهم رسانیده است.

When I would have cheered myself against sorrow, Against me, mine own heart sickened: —

۱۹ 19 اینک آواز تضرع دختر قوم من از زمین دور می‌آید که آیا خداوند در صهیون نیست و مگر پادشاهش در آن نیست پس چراخشم مرا به بتهای خود و اباطیل بیگانه به هیجان آوردند؟

Lo! the voice of the cry for help of the daughter of my people from a land far away, Is, Yahweh, not in Zion? Is, her King, not within her? Why, have they provoked me with their carved images, with their foreign vanities?

۲۰ 20 موسم حصاد گذشت و تابستان تمام شد و ما نجات نیافتیم.

The harvest is passed, The fruit-gathering, is ended; And we are not saved!

۲۱ 21 به‌سبب جراحت دخترقوم خود مجروح شده و ماتم گرفته‌ام و حیرت مرا فرو گرفته است.

For the grievous injury of the daughter of my people, I am grievously injured, —I am enshrouded in gloom, Horror, hath seized me: —

۲۲ 22 آیا بلسان در جلعاد نیست و طبیبی در آن نی؟ پس دختر قوم من چرا شفانیافته است؟

Balsam, is there none, in Gilead? Is there no physician, there? Why hath not appeared the healing of the daughter of my people?
