ارمیا 47

۱ 1 کلام خداوند درباره فلسطینیان که برارمیا نبی نازل شد قبل از آنکه فرعون غزه را مغلوب بسازد.

The word of Jehovah which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before Pharaoh had smitten Gaza.

۲ 2 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: «اینک آبها از شمال برمی آید و مثل نهری سیلان می‌کند و زمین را با آنچه در آن است و شهر وساکنانش را درمی گیرد. و مردمان فریادبرمی آورند و جمیع سکنه زمین ولوله می‌نمایند

Thus saith Jehovah: Behold, waters rise up out of the North, And they shall become an overflowing torrent, And shall overflow the land, and all that is therein, —The city, and them that dwell therein; And the men shall cry aloud, And all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.

۳ 3 از صدای سمهای اسبان زورآورش و ازغوغای ارابه هایش و شورش چرخهایش. وپدران به‌سبب سستی دستهای خود به فرزندان خویش اعتنا نمی کنند.

At the noise of the stamping of the horses, At the rattling of his chariots, And at the rumbling of his wheels, Fathers look not back for their children, For feebleness of hands,

۴ 4 به‌سبب روزی که برای هلاکت جمیع فلسطینیان می‌آید که هرنصرت کننده‌ای را که باقی می‌ماند از صور وصیدون منقطع خواهد ساخت. زیرا خداوندفلسطینیان یعنی بقیه جزیره کفتور را هلاک خواهد ساخت.

Because of the day which cometh, To lay waste all the Philistines, To cut off from Tyre and from Sidon Every helper that remaineth. For Jehovah will lay waste the Philistines, The remnant of the country of Caphtor.

۵ 5 اهل غزه بریده مو گشته‌اند واشقلون و بقیه وادی ایشان هلاک شده است. تا به کی بدن خود را خواهی خراشید؟

Baldness is come upon Gaza, Askelon is in ruins, And the remnant of their valley! How long wilt thou cut thyself?

۶ 6 آه‌ای شمشیر خداوند تا به کی آرام نخواهی گرفت؟ به غلاف خود برگشته، مستریح و آرام شو.

Ah! sword of Jehovah, How long ere thou wilt be quiet? Retire into thy scabbard, Rest, and be still!

۷ 7 چگونه می‌توانی آرام بگیری، با آنکه خداوند تو را بر اشقلون و بر ساحل دریا مامور فرموده و تو را به آنجا تعیین نموده است؟»

But how canst thou be at rest, Since Jehovah hath given thee a charge against Askelon, And against the coast of the sea? There hath he appointed it.
