یعقوب 3
| ای برادران من، بسیار معلم نشوید چونکه می دانید که بر ما داوری سخت‌تر خواهدشد. | ۱ 1 |
My brothers, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.
| زیرا همگی ما بسیار می‌لغزیم. و اگر کسی در سخن‌گفتن نلغزد، او مرد کامل است و می‌تواندعنان تمام جسد خود را بکشد. | ۲ 2 |
For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body.
| و اینک لگام رابر دهان اسبان می‌زنیم تا مطیع ما شوند و تمام بدن آنها را برمی گردانیم. | ۳ 3 |
Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body.
| اینک کشتیها نیز چقدربزرگ است و از بادهای سخت رانده می‌شود، لکن با سکان کوچک به هر طرفی که اراده ناخدا باشد، برگردانیده می‌شود. | ۴ 4 |
Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, wherever the governor wants.
| همچنان زبان نیز عضوی کوچک است و سخنان کبرآمیز می‌گوید. اینک آتش کمی چه جنگل عظیمی را می‌سوزاند. | ۵ 5 |
Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasts great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindles!
| وزبان آتشی است! آن عالم ناراستی در میان اعضای ما زبان است که تمام بدن را می‌آلاید ودایره کائنات را می‌سوزاند و از جهنم سوخته می‌شود! (Geenna g1067) | ۶ 6 |
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. (Geenna g1067)
| زیرا که هر طبیعتی از وحوش و طیور وحشرات و حیوانات بحری از طبیعت انسان رام می‌شود و رام شده است. | ۷ 7 |
For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and has been tamed of mankind:
| لکن زبان را کسی ازمردمان نمی تواند رام کند. شرارتی سرکش و پر اززهر قاتل است! | ۸ 8 |
But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
| خدا و پدر را به آن متبارک می‌خوانیم و به همان مردمان را که به صورت خداآفریده شده‌اند، لعن می‌گوییم. | ۹ 9 |
Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.
| از یک دهان برکت و لعنت بیرون می‌آید! ای برادران، شایسته نیست که چنین شود. | ۱۰ 10 |
Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not so to be.
| آیا چشمه از یک شکاف آب شیرین و شور جاری می‌سازد؟ | ۱۱ 11 |
Does a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?
| یا می‌شودای برادران من که درخت انجیر، زیتون یا درخت مو، انجیر بار آورد؟ و چشمه شور نمی تواند آب شیرین را موجود سازد. | ۱۲ 12 |
Can the fig tree, my brothers, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.
| کیست در میان شما که حکیم و عالم باشد؟ پس اعمال خود را از سیرت نیکو به تواضع حکمت ظاهر بسازد. | ۱۳ 13 |
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
| لکن اگر در دل خودحسد تلخ و تعصب دارید، فخر مکنید و به ضدحق دروغ مگویید. | ۱۴ 14 |
But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
| این حکمت از بالا نازل نمی شود، بلکه دنیوی و نفسانی و شیطانی است. | ۱۵ 15 |
This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
| زیرا هرجایی که حسد و تعصب است، درآنجا فتنه و هر امر زشت موجود می‌باشد. | ۱۶ 16 |
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
| لکن آن حکمت که از بالا است، اول طاهر است و بعدصلح‌آمیز و ملایم و نصیحت‌پذیر و پر از رحمت و میوه های نیکو و بی‌تردد و بی‌ریا. | ۱۷ 17 |
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
| و میوه عدالت در سلامتی کاشته می‌شود برای آنانی که سلامتی را بعمل می‌آورند. | ۱۸ 18 |
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
