اشعیا 20

۱ 1 در سالی که ترتان به اشدود آمد هنگامی که سرجون پادشاه آشور او رافرستاد، پس با اشدود جنگ کرده، آن را گرفت.

In the year in which Tharthan entered into Ashdod, when Sargon, the king of the Assyrians, had sent him, and when he had fought against Ashdod and had captured it,

۲ 2 در آن وقت خداوند به واسطه اشعیا ابن آموص تکلم نموده، گفت: «برو و پلاس را از کمر خودبگشا و نعلین را از پای خود بیرون کن.» و او چنین کرده، عریان و پا برهنه راه می‌رفت.

in that same time, the Lord spoke by the hand of Isaiah, the son of Amoz, saying: “Go forth, and remove the sackcloth from your waist, and take your shoes from your feet.” And he did so, going out naked and barefoot.

۳ 3 و خداوند گفت: «چنانکه بنده من اشعیا سه سال عریان و پا برهنه راه رفته است تا آیتی وعلامتی درباره مصر و کوش باشد،

And the Lord said: Just as my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot, as a sign and as a portent of three years over Egypt and over Ethiopia,

۴ 4 بهمان طورپادشاه آشور اسیران مصر و جلاء وطنان کوش رااز جوانان وپیران عریان و پابرهنه و مکشوف سرین خواهد برد تا رسوایی مصر باشد.

so also will the king of the Assyrians force the captivity of Egypt, and the transmigration of Ethiopia: young and old, naked and barefoot, with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

۵ 5 و ایشان به‌سبب کوش که ملجای ایشان است و مصر که فخر ایشان باشد مضطرب و خجل خواهند شد.

And they will be afraid and confounded over Ethiopia, their hope, and Egypt, their glory.

۶ 6 و ساکنان این ساحل در آن روز خواهند گفت: اینک ملجای ما که برای اعانت به آن فرار کردیم تااز دست پادشاه آشور نجات یابیم چنین شده است، پس ما چگونه نجات خواهیم یافت؟»

And in that day, the inhabitants of a certain island will say: “Behold, this was our hope, we fled to them for help, to free us from the face of the king of the Assyrians. And now, how will we be able to escape?”
