حزقیال 9

۱ 1 و او به آواز بلند به گوش من ندا کرده، گفت: «وکلای شهر را نزدیک بیاور و هرکس آلت خراب کننده خود را در دست خود بدارد.»

Then cried he in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Draw near ye that have charge of the city, -even every man with his weapon of destruction in his hand.

۲ 2 و اینک شش مرد از راه دروازه بالایی که بطرف شمال متوجه است آمدند و هرکس تبرخود را در دستش داشت. و در میان ایشان یک مرد ملبس شده به کتان بود و دوات کاتب درکمرش. و ایشان داخل شده، نزد مذبح برنجین ایستادند.

And lo! six men coming in out of the way of the upper gate which looketh toward the north even every man with his destructive weapon in his hand, and one man in their midst clothed with linen, having a scribe’s ink holder by his side, —so they came in and stood beside the altar of bronze.

۳ 3 و جلال خدای اسرائیل از روی آن کروبی که بالای آن بود به آستانه خانه برآمد و به آن مردی که به کتان ملبس بود و دوات کاتب را درکمر داشت خطاب کرد.

And the glory of the God of Israel lifted itself up from off the cherub whereon it had been, unto the threshold of the house, —and he called unto the man clothed with linen, who had the scribe’s ink holder by his side.

۴ 4 و خداوند به او گفت: «از میان شهر یعنی از میان اورشلیم بگذر و برپیشانی کسانی که به‌سبب همه رجاساتی که در آن کرده می‌شود آه و ناله می‌کنند نشانی بگذار.

Then said Yahweh unto him. Pass along through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, —and set thou a mark upon the foreheads of the men who are sighing and crying over all the abominations that are being done in her midst.

۵ 5 و به آنان به سمع من گفت که در عقب او از شهربگذرید و هلاک سازید و چشمان شما شفقت نکند و ترحم منمایید.

But unto these, said he in mine ears, Pass along through the city after him and smite, —let not your eye, shield, neither have ye pity:

۶ 6 پیران و جوانان و دختران و اطفال و زنان را تمام به قتل رسانید، اما به هرکسی‌که این نشان را دارد نزدیک مشوید و ازقدس من شروع کنید.» پس از مردان پیری که پیش خانه بودند شروع کردند.

elder, young man and virgin and little ones and women, shall ye slay utterly, but unto any man who hath upon him the mark, do not ye come near, and at my sanctuary, shall ye begin. So they began with the elder men. who were before the house.

۷ 7 و به ایشان فرمود: «خانه را نجس سازید وصحنها را از کشتگان پر ساخته، بیرون آیید.» پس بیرون آمدند و در شهر به کشتن شروع کردند.

And he said unto them Defile ye the house and fill the courts with the slain, —go ye forth! So they went forth and smote in the city.

۸ 8 وچون ایشان می‌کشتند و من باقی‌مانده بودم به روی خود در‌افتاده، استغاثه نمودم و گفتم: «آه‌ای خداوند یهوه آیا چون غضب خود را براورشلیم می‌ریزی تمامی بقیه اسرائیل را هلاک خواهی ساخت؟»

And it came to pass, while they were smiting them—I being left remaining, that I fell upon my face and made outcry, and said Alas! My Lord. Yahweh art thou about to destroy all the remnant of Israel, in that thou art pouring out of thine indignation upon Jerusalem?

۹ 9 او مرا جواب داد: «گناه خاندان اسرائیل و یهودا بی‌نهایت عظیم است وزمین از خون مملو و شهر از ستم پر است. زیرامی گویند: خداوند زمین را ترک کرده است وخداوند نمی بیند.

And he said unto me the iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah, is exceeding, great, and the land is filled with shed blood, and the city is full of over-reaching, —for they have said. Yahweh hath forsaken the land, — and Yahweh doth not see.

۱۰ 10 پس چشم من نیز شفقت نخواهد کرد و من رحمت نخواهم فرمود، بلکه رفتار ایشان را بر سر ایشان خواهم آورد.»

Therefore as for even me, Mine eye shall not shield. Neither will I pity, — Their way upon their own head, have I rendered.

۱۱ 11 واینک آن مردی که به کتان ملبس بود و دوات را درکمر داشت، جواب داد و گفت: «به نهجی که مراامر فرمودی عمل نمودم.»

And lo! the man clothed in linen, having the ink-holder by his side, bringing back word saying, — I have done according to all which thou didst command me.
