حزقیال 33

۱ 1 و کلام خداوند بر من نازل شده، گفت:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

۲ 2 «ای پسر انسان پسران قوم خود راخطاب کرده، به ایشان بگو: اگر من شمشیری برزمینی آورم و اهل آن زمین کسی را از میان خودگرفته، او را به جهت خود به دیده بانی تعیین کنند،

Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say to them: When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man, one of their meanest, and make him a watchman over them:

۳ 3 و او شمشیر را بیند که بر آن زمین می‌آید وکرنارا نواخته، آن قوم را متنبه سازد،

And he see the sword coming upon the land, and sound the trumpet, and tell the people:

۴ 4 و اگر کسی صدای کرنا را شنیده، متنبه نشود، آنگاه شمشیرآمده، او را گرفتار خواهد ساخت و خونش برگردنش خواهد بود.

Then he that heareth the sound of the trumpet, whosoever he be, and doth not look to himself, if the sword come, and cut him off: his blood shall be upon his own head.

۵ 5 چونکه صدای کرنا را شنیدو متنبه نگردید، خون او بر خودش خواهد بود واگر متنبه می‌شد جان خود را می‌رهانید.

He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not look to himself, his blood shall be upon him: but if he look to himself, he shall save his life.

۶ 6 و اگردیده بان شمشیر را بیند که می‌آید و کرنا راننواخته قوم را متنبه نسازد و شمشیر آمده، کسی را از میان ایشان گرفتار سازد، آن شخص در گناه خود گرفتار شده است، اما خون او را از دست دیده بان خواهم طلبید.

And if the watchman see the sword coming, and sound not the trumpet: and the people look not to themselves, and the sword come, and cut off a soul from among them: he indeed is taken away in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at the hand of the watchman.

۷ 7 و من تو را‌ای پسر انسان برای خاندان اسرائیل به دیده بانی تعیین نموده‌ام تا کلام را از دهانم شنیده، ایشان را از جانب من متنبه سازی.

So thou, O son of man, I have made thee a watchman to the house of Israel: therefore thou shalt hear the word from my mouth, and shalt tell it them from me.

۸ 8 حینی که من به مرد شریر گویم: ای مرد شریر البته خواهی مرد! اگر تو سخن نگویی تاآن مرد شریر را از طریقش متنبه سازی، آنگاه آن مرد شریر در گناه خود خواهد مرد، اما خون او رااز دست تو خواهم طلبید.

When I say to the wicked: O wicked man, thou shalt surely die: if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked man from his way: that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but I will require his blood at thy hand.

۹ 9 اما اگر تو آن مردشریر را از طریقش متنبه سازی تا از آن بازگشت نماید و او از طریق خود بازگشت نکند، آنگاه اودر گناه خود خواهد مرد، اما تو جان خود رارستگار ساخته‌ای.

But if thou tell the wicked man, that he may be converted from his ways, and he be not converted from his way: he shall die in his iniquity: but thou hast delivered thy soul.

۱۰ 10 پس تو‌ای پسر انسان به خاندان اسرائیل بگو: شما بدین مضمون می‌گویید: چونکه عصیان و گناهان ما بر گردن مااست و به‌سبب آنها کاهیده شده‌ایم، پس چگونه زنده خواهیم ماند؟

Thou therefore, O son of man, say to the house of Israel: Thus you have spoken, saying: Our iniquities, and our sins are upon us, and we pine away in them: how then can we live?

۱۱ 11 «به ایشان بگو: خداوند یهوه می‌فرماید: به حیات خودم قسم که من از مردن مرد شریرخوش نیستم بلکه (خوش هستم ) که شریر ازطریق خود بازگشت نموده، زنده ماند. ای خاندان اسرائیل بازگشت نمایید! از طریق های بد خویش بازگشت نمایید زیرا چرا بمیرید؟

Say to them: As I live, saith the Lord God, I desire not the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way, and live. Turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways: and why will you die, O house of Israel?

۱۲ 12 و تو‌ای پسرانسان به پسران قوم خود بگو: عدالت مرد عادل در روزی که مرتکب گناه شود، او را نخواهدرهانید. و شرارت مرد شریر در روزی که او ازشرارت خود بازگشت نماید، باعث هلاکت وی نخواهد شد. و مرد عادل در روزی که گناه ورزد، به عدالت خود زنده نتواند ماند.

Thou therefore, O son of man, say to the children of thy people: The justice of the just shall not deliver him, in what day soever he shall sin: and the wickedness of the wicked shall not hurt him, in what day soever he shall turn from his wickedness: and the just shall not be able to live in his justice, in what day soever he shall sin.

۱۳ 13 حینی که به مرد عادل گویم که البته زنده خواهی ماند، اگر اوبه عدالت خود اعتماد نموده، عصیان ورزد، آنگاه عدالتش هرگز به یاد آورده نخواهد شد بلکه درعصیانی که ورزیده است خواهد مرد.

Yea, if I shall say to the just that he shall surely live, and he, trusting in his justice, commit iniquity: all his justices shall be forgotten, and in his iniquity, which he hath committed, in the same shall he die.

۱۴ 14 وهنگامی که به مرد شریر گویم: البته خواهی مرد! اگر او از گناه خود بازگشت نموده، انصاف و عدالت بجا آورد،

And if I shall say to the wicked: Thou shalt surely die: and he do penance for his sin, and do judgment and justice,

۱۵ 15 و اگر آن مرد شریر رهن راپس دهد و آنچه دزدیده بود رد نماید و به فرایض حیات سلوک نموده، مرتکب بی‌انصافی نشود، اوالبته زنده خواهد ماند و نخواهد مرد.

And if that wicked man restore the pledge, and render what he had robbed, and walk in the commandments of life, and do no unjust thing: he shall surely live, and shall not die.

۱۶ 16 تمام گناهی که ورزیده بود بر او به یاد آورده نخواهدشد. چونکه انصاف و عدالت را بجا آورده است، البته زنده خواهد ماند.

None of his sins, which he hath committed, shall be imputed to him: he hath done judgment and justice, he shall surely live.

۱۷ 17 اما پسران قوم تومی گویند که طریق خداوند موزون نیست، بلکه طریق خود ایشان است که موزون نیست.

And the children of thy people have said: The way of the Lord is not equitable: whereas their own way is unjust.

۱۸ 18 هنگامی که مرد عادل از عدالت خود برگشته، عصیان ورزد، به‌سبب آن خواهد مرد.

For when the just shall depart from his justice, and commit iniquities, he shall die in them.

۱۹ 19 و چون مرد شریر از شرارت خود بازگشت نموده، انصاف و عدالت را بجا آورد به‌سبب آن زنده خواهدماند.

And when the wicked shall depart from his wickedness, and shall do judgments, and justice: be shall live in them.

۲۰ 20 اما شما می‌گویید که طریق خداوندموزون نیست. ای خاندان اسرائیل من بر هر یکی از شما موافق طریق هایش داوری خواهم نمود.»

And you say: The way of the Lord is not right, I will judge every one of you according to his ways, O house of Israel.

۲۱ 21 و در روز پنجم ماه دهم از سال دوازدهم اسیری ما واقع شد که کسی‌که از اورشلیم فرارکرده بود نزد من آمده، خبر داد که شهر تسخیرشده است.

And it came to pass in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that there came to me one that was fled from Jerusalem, saying: The city is laid waste.

۲۲ 22 و در وقت شام قبل از رسیدن آن فراری دست خداوند بر من آمده، دهان مراگشود. پس چون او در وقت صبح نزد من رسید، دهانم گشوده شد و دیگر گنگ نبودم.

And the hand of the Lord had been upon me in the evening, before he that was fled came: and he opened my mouth till he came to me in the morning, and my mouth being opened, I was silent no more.

۲۳ 23 و کلام خداوند بر من نازل شده، گفت:

And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

۲۴ 24 «ای پسر انسان ساکنان این خرابه های زمین اسرائیل می‌گویند: ابراهیم یک نفر بود حینی که وارث این زمین شد وما بسیار هستیم که زمین به ارث به ما داده شده است.

Son of man, they that dwell in these ruinous places in the land of Israel, speak, saying: Abraham was one, and he inherited the land, but we are many, the land is given us in possession.

۲۵ 25 بنابراین به ایشان بگو: خداوند یهوه چنین می‌فرماید: (گوشت را) با خونش می‌خورید و چشمان خود را بسوی بتهای خویش برمی افرازید و خون می‌ریزید. پس آیاشما وارث زمین خواهید شد؟

Therefore say to them: Thus saith the Lord God, You that eat with the blood and lift up your eyes to your uncleannesses, and that shed blood: shall you possess the land by inheritance?

۲۶ 26 «بر شمشیرهای خود تکیه می‌کنید ومرتکب رجاسات شده، هر کدام از شما زن همسایه خود را نجس می‌سازید. پس آیا وارث این زمین خواهید شد؟

You stood on your swords, you have committed abominations, and every one hath defiled his neighbour’s wife; and shall you possess the land by inheritance?

۲۷ 27 بدینطور به ایشان بگوکه خداوند یهوه چنین می‌فرماید: به حیات خودم قسم البته آنانی که در خرابه‌ها هستند به شمشیرخواهند افتاد. و آنانی که بر روی صحرااند برای خوراک به حیوانات خواهم داد. و آنانی که درقلعه‌ها و مغارهایند از وبا خواهند مرد.

Say thou thus to them: Thus saith the Lord God: As I live, they that dwell in the ruinous places, shall fall by the sword: and he that is in the field, shall be given to the beasts to be devoured: and they that are in holds, and caves, shall die of the pestilence.

۲۸ 28 و این زمین را ویران و محل دهشت خواهم ساخت وغرور قوتش نابود خواهد شد. و کوههای اسرائیل به حدی ویران خواهد شد که رهگذری نباشد.

And I will make the land a wilderness, and a desert, and the proud strength thereof shall fail, and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, because there is none to pass by them.

۲۹ 29 و چون این زمین را به‌سبب همه رجاساتی که ایشان بعمل آورده‌اند ویران و محل دهشت ساخته باشم، آنگاه خواهند دانست که من یهوه هستم.

And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall have made their land waste and desolate, for all their abominations which they have committed.

۳۰ 30 اما تو‌ای پسر انسان پسران قومت به پهلوی دیوارها و نزد درهای خانه‌ها درباره توسخن می‌گویند. و هر یک به دیگری و هر کس به برادرش خطاب کرده، می‌گوید بیایید و بشنوید! چه کلام است که از جانب خداوند صادرمی شود.

And thou son of man: the children of thy people, that talk of thee by the walls, and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another each men to his neighbour, saying: Come, and let us hear what is the word that cometh forth from the Lord.

۳۱ 31 و نزد تو می‌آیند بطوری که قوم (من )می آیند. و مانند قوم من پیش تو نشسته، سخنان تو را می‌شنوند، اما آنها را بجا نمی آورند. زیرا که ایشان به دهان خود سخنان شیرین می‌گویند. لیکن دل ایشان در‌پی حرص ایشان می‌رود.

And they come to thee, as if a people were coming in, and my people sit before thee: and hear thy words, and do them not: for they turn them into a song of their mouth, and their heart goeth after their covetousness.

۳۲ 32 واینک تو برای ایشان مثل سرود شیرین مطرب خوشنوا و نیک نواز هستی. زیرا که سخنان تو رامی شنوند، اما آنها را بجا نمی آورند.

And thou art to them as a musical song which is sung with a sweet and agreeable voice: and they hear thy words, and do them not.

۳۳ 33 و چون این واقع می‌شود و البته واقع خواهد شد، آنگاه خواهند دانست که نبی در میان ایشان بوده است.»

And when that which was foretold shall come to pass, (for behold it is coming, ) then shall they know that a prophet bath been among them.
