عاموس 1

۱ 1 آنها را در ایام عزیا، پادشاه یهودا و ایام یربعام بن یوآش، پادشاه اسرائیل در سال قبل اززلزله درباره اسرائیل دید.

The words of Amos, who was among the herdmen of Tekoa, —of which (words) he had vision concerning Israel, in the days of Uzziah king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

۲ 2 پس گفت: خداوند ازصهیون نعره می‌زند و آواز خود را از اورشلیم بلند می‌کند و مرتع های شبانان ماتم می‌گیرند وقله کرمل خشک می‌گردد.

So then he said—Yahweh, out of Zion, will roar, and, out of Jerusalem, will utter his voice, —and the pastures of the shepherds, shall mourn, and the top of Carmel, be dried up.

۳ 3 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: به‌سبب سه و چهارتقصیر دمشق عقوبتش را نخواهم برگردانید زیراکه جلعاد را به چومهای آهنین کوفتند.

Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Damascus, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because, with threshing instruments of iron, they have threshed Gilead.

۴ 4 پس آتش در خاندان حزائیل خواهم فرستاد تاقصرهای بنهدد را بسوزاند.

Therefore will send a fire, into the house of Hazael, —which shall devour the palaces of Ben- hadad;

۵ 5 و پشت بندهای دمشق را خواهم شکست و ساکنان را از همواری آون و صاحب عصا را از بیت عدن منقطع خواهم ساخت و خداوند می‌گوید که قوم ارام به قیر به اسیری خواهند رفت.

And I will break the bolt of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitant out of the plain of Aven, and the holder of the sceptre out of the house of Eden, —and the people of Syria, shall be exiled, unto Kir, saith Yahweh.

۶ 6 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: به‌سبب سه و چهارتقصیر غزه عقوبتش را نخواهم برگردانید زیرا که تمامی (قوم را) به اسیری بردند تا ایشان را به ادوم تسلیم نمایند.

Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Gaza, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because of their taking into exile the whole body of exiles, to deliver to Edom,

۷ 7 پس آتش به حصارهای غزه خواهم فرستاد تا قصرهایش را بسوزاند.

Therefore will I send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, —which shall devour the palaces thereof;

۸ 8 وساکنان را از اشدود و صاحب عصا را از اشقلون منقطع ساخته، دست خود را به عقرون فرودخواهم آورد و خداوند یهوه می‌گوید که باقی ماندگان فلسطینیان هلاک خواهند شد.

And I will cut off the inhabitant out of Ashdod, and the holder of the sceptre out of Ashkelon, —and will turn my hand against Ekron, So shall perish the remnant of the Philistines, saith My Lord, Yahweh.

۹ 9 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: به‌سبب سه و چهارتقصیر صور عقوبتش را نخواهم برگردانید زیرا که تمامی (قوم را) به اسیری برده، ایشان را به ادوم تسلیم نمودند و عهد برادران را به یاد نیاوردند.

Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Tyre, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because of their delivering up the whole body of exiles to Edom, and they remembered not the brotherly covenant,

۱۰ 10 پس آتش بر حصارهای صور خواهم فرستاد تاقصرهایش را بسوزاند.

Therefore will I send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, —which shall devour the palaces thereof.

۱۱ 11 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: به‌سبب سه وچهار تقصیر ادوم عقوبتش را نخواهم برگردانیدزیرا که برادر خود را به شمشیر تعاقب نمود ورحمهای خویش را تباه ساخت و خشم اوپیوسته می‌درید و غضب خود را دایم نگاه می‌داشت.

Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of Edom, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because he pursued, with the sword, his brother, and stifled his compassions, and his anger tare in pieces evermore, and, his indignation, kept watch perpetually,

۱۲ 12 پس آتش بر تیمان خواهم فرستادتا قصرهای بصره را بسوزاند.

Therefore will I send a fire into Teman, —which shall devour the palaces of Bozrah.

۱۳ 13 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: به‌سبب سه وچهار تقصیر بنی عمون عقوبتش را نخواهم برگردانید زیرا که زنان حامله جلعاد را شکم پاره کردند تا حدود خویش را وسیع گردانند.

Thus, saith Yahweh, Because of three transgressions of the sons of Ammon, and because of four, will I not turn it back, —Because of their ripping up the pregnant women of Gilead, that they might enlarge their own boundary,

۱۴ 14 پس آتش در حصارهای ربه مشتعل خواهم ساخت تاقصرهایش را با صدای عظیمی در روز جنگ و باتندبادی در روز طوفان بسوزاند.

Therefore will I kindle a fire upon the wall of Rabbah, which shall devour the palaces thereof, —with a war-cry in the day of battle, with tempest in the day of storm-wind;

۱۵ 15 و خداوندمی گوید که پادشاه ایشان به اسیری خواهد رفت او و سرورانش جمیع.

And Milcom shall go into exile, —he and his rulers together, saith Yahweh.
