دوم پادشاهان 18

۱ 1 و در سال سوم هوشع بن ایله، پادشاه اسرائیل، حزقیا ابن آحاز، پادشاه یهوداآغاز سلطنت نمود.

Now in the third yeere of Hoshea, sonne of Elah King of Israel, Hezekiah the sonne of Ahaz king of Iudah began to reigne.

۲ 2 او بیست و پنج ساله بود که پادشاه شد و بیست و نه سال در اورشلیم سلطنت کرد و اسم مادرش ابی، دختر زکریا بود.

He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned nine and twenty yeere in Ierusalem. His mothers name also was Abi the daughter of Zachariah,

۳ 3 و آنچه در نظر خداوند پسند بود، موافق هر‌چه پدرش داود کرده بود، به عمل آورد.

And he did vprightly in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Dauid his father had done.

۴ 4 او مکان های بلندرا برداشت و تماثیل را شکست و اشیره را قطع نمود و مار برنجین را که موسی ساخته بود، خردکرد زیرا که بنی‌اسرائیل تا آن زمان برایش بخورمی سوزانیدند. و او آن را نحشتان نامید.

He tooke away the hie places, and brake the images, and cut downe the groues, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for vnto those dayes the children of Israel did burne incense to it, and hee called it Nehushtan.

۵ 5 او بریهوه، خدای اسرائیل توکل نمود و بعد از او ازجمیع پادشاهان یهودا کسی مثل او نبود و نه ازآنانی که قبل از او بودند.

He trusted in the Lord God of Israel: so that after him was none like him among all the Kings of Iudah, neither were there any such before him.

۶ 6 و به خداوند چسپیده، از پیروی او انحراف نورزید و اوامری را که خداوند به موسی‌امر فرموده بود، نگاه داشت.

For he claue to the Lord, and departed not from him, but kept his commandements, which the Lord had commanded Moses.

۷ 7 وخداوند با او می‌بود و به هر طرفی که رو می‌نمود، فیروز می‌شد و بر پادشاه آشور عاصی شده، او راخدمت ننمود.

So the Lord was with him, and he prospered in all thinges, which he tooke in hande: also he rebelled against the King of Asshur, and serued him not.

۸ 8 او فلسطینیان را تا غزه وحدودش و از برجهای دیده بانان تا شهرهای حصاردار شکست داد.

He smote the Philistims vnto Azzah, and the coastes thereof, from the watch towre vnto the defensed citie.

۹ 9 و در سال چهارم حزقیا پادشاه که سال هفتم هوشع بن ایله، پادشاه اسرائیل بود، شلمناسر، پادشاه آشور به سامره برآمده، آن رامحاصره کرد.

And in the fourth yere of King Hezekiah, (which was the seuenth yeere of Hoshea sonne of Elah King of Israel) Shalmaneser King of Asshur came vp against Samaria, and besieged it.

۱۰ 10 و در آخر سال سوم در سال ششم حزقیا آن را گرفتند، یعنی در سال نهم هوشع، پادشاه اسرائیل، سامره گرفته شد.

And after three yeeres they tooke it, euen in the sixt yeere of Hezekiah: that is, the ninth yeere of Hoshea King of Israel was Samaria taken.

۱۱ 11 وپادشاه آشور، اسرائیل را به آشور کوچانیده، ایشان را در حلح و خابور، نهر جوزان، و درشهرهای مادیان برده، سکونت داد.

Then the King of Asshur did carry away Israel vnto Asshur, and put them in Halah and in Habor, by the riuer of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes,

۱۲ 12 از این جهت که آواز یهوه، خدای خود را نشنیده بودندو از عهد او و هر‌چه موسی، بنده خداوند، امرفرموده بود، تجاوز نمودند و آن را اطاعت نکردندو به عمل نیاوردند.

Because they woulde not obey the voyce of the Lord their God, but transgressed his couenant: that is, all that Moses the seruant of the Lord had commanded, and would neyther obey nor doe them.

۱۳ 13 و در سال چهاردهم حزقیا پادشاه، سنحاریب، پادشاه آشور بر تمامی شهرهای حصاردار یهودا برآمده، آنها را تسخیر نمود.

Moreouer, in the fourteenth yeere of King Hezekiah, Saneherib King of Asshur came vp against all the strong cities of Iudah, and tooke them.

۱۴ 14 وحزقیا پادشاه یهودا نزد پادشاه آشور به لاکیش فرستاده، گفت: «خطا کردم. از من برگرد و آنچه راکه بر من بگذاری، ادا خواهم کرد.» پس پادشاه آشور سیصد وزنه نقره و سی وزنه طلا بر حزقیاپادشاه یهودا گذاشت.

Then Hezekiah King of Iudah sent vnto the King of Asshur to Lachish, saying, I haue offended: depart from me, and what thou layest vpon me, I wil beare it. And the King of Asshur appoynted vnto Hezekiah King of Iudah three hudreth talents of siluer, and thirty talets of golde.

۱۵ 15 و حزقیا تمامی نقره‌ای را که در خانه خداوند و در خزانه های خانه پادشاه یافت شد، داد.

Therefore Hezekiah gaue all the siluer that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the treasures of the Kings house.

۱۶ 16 در آن وقت حزقیا طلارا از درهای هیکل خداوند و از ستونهایی که حزقیا، پادشاه یهودا آنها را به طلا پوشانیده بودکنده، آن را به پادشاه آشور داد.

At the same season did Hezekiah pul off the plates of the doores of the Temple of the Lord, and the pillars (which the sayd Hezekiah King of Iudah had couered ouer) and gaue them to the King of Asshur.

۱۷ 17 و پادشاه آشور، ترتان و ربساریس وربشاقی را از لاکیش نزد حزقیای پادشاه به اورشلیم با موکب عظیم فرستاد. و ایشان برآمده، به اورشلیم رسیدند و چون برآمدند، رفتند و نزدقنات برکه فوقانی که به‌سر راه مزرعه گازر است، ایستادند.

And the King of Asshur sent Tartan, and Rab-saris, and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great hoste against Ierusalem. And they went vp, and came to Ierusalem, and when they were come vp, they stood by the conduite of the vpper poole, which is by the path of the fullers fielde,

۱۸ 18 و چون پادشاه را خواندند، الیاقیم بن حلقیا که ناظر خانه بود و شبنای کاتب و یوآخ بن آساف وقایع نگار، نزد ایشان بیرون آمدند.

And called to the King. Then came out to them Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder.

۱۹ 19 و ربشاقی به ایشان گفت: «به حزقیا بگویید: سلطان عظیم، پادشاه آشور چنین می‌گوید: این اعتماد شما که بر آن توکل می‌نمایی، چیست؟

And Rabshakeh sayde vnto them, Tell ye Hezekiah, I pray you, Thus saith the great King, euen the great King of Asshur, What confidence is this wherein thou trustest?

۲۰ 20 تو سخن می‌گویی، اما مشورت و قوت جنگ تو، محض سخن باطل است. الان کیست که بر اوتوکل نموده‌ای که بر من عاصی شده‌ای.

Thou thinkest, Surely I haue eloquence, but counsell and strength are for the warre. On whom then doest thou trust, that thou rebellest against me?

۲۱ 21 اینک حال بر عصای این نی خرد شده، یعنی بر مصرتوکل می‌نمایی که اگر کسی بر آن تکیه کند، به‌دستش فرو رفته، آن را مجروح می‌سازد. همچنان است فرعون، پادشاه مصر برای همگانی که بر وی توکل می‌نمایند.

Lo, thou trustest now in this broken staffe of reede, to wit, on Egypt, on which if a man leane, it will goe into his hand, and pearce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt vnto all that trust on him.

۲۲ 22 و اگر مرا گویید که بر یهوه، خدای خود توکل داریم، آیا او آن نیست که حزقیا مکان های بلند و مذبح های او را برداشته است و به یهودا و اورشلیم گفته که پیش این مذبح در اورشلیم سجده نمایید؟

But if ye say vnto me, We trust in the Lord our God, is not that he whose hie places, and whose altars Hezekiah hath taken away, and hath sayd to Iudah and Ierusalem, Ye shall worship before this altar in Ierusalem?

۲۳ 23 پس حال با آقایم، پادشاه آشور شرط ببند و من دو هزار اسب به تومی دهم. اگر از جانب خود سواران بر آنها توانی گذاشت!

Now therefore giue hostages to my lord the King of Asshur, and I will giue thee two thousand horses, if thou be able to set riders vpon them.

۲۴ 24 پس چگونه روی یک پاشا ازکوچکترین بندگان آقایم را خواهی برگردانید و برمصر به جهت ارابه‌ها و سواران توکل داری؟

For how canst thou despise any captaine of the least of my masters seruants, and put thy trust on Egypt for charets and horsemen?

۲۵ 25 وآیا من الان بی‌اذن خداوند بر این مکان به جهت خرابی آن برآمده‌ام، خداوند مرا گفته است بر این زمین برآی و آن را خراب کن.»

Am I now come vp without the Lord to this place, to destroy it? the Lord sayd to me, Goe vp against this land, and destroy it.

۲۶ 26 آنگاه الیاقیم بن حلقیا و شبنا و یوآخ به ربشاقی گفتند: «تمنا اینکه با بندگانت به زبان ارامی گفتگو نمایی که آن را می‌فهمیم و با ما به زبان یهود در گوش مردمی که بر حصارند، گفتگومنمای.»

Then Eliakim the sonne of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Ioah said vnto Rabshakeh, Speake I pray thee, to thy seruants in the Aramites language, for we vnderstand it, and talke not with vs in the Iewes tongue, in the audience of the people that are on the wall.

۲۷ 27 ربشاقی به ایشان گفت: «آیا آقایم مرانزد آقایت و تو فرستاده است تا این سخنان رابگویم؟ مگر مرا نزد مردانی که بر حصارنشسته‌اند، نفرستاده، تا ایشان با شما نجاست خود را بخوردند و بول خود را بنوشند؟»

But Rabshakeh saide vnto them, Hath my master sent me to thy master and to thee to speake these words, and not to the men which sit on the wall, that they may eate their owne doung, and drinke their owne pisse with you?

۲۸ 28 پس ربشاقی ایستاد و به آواز بلند به زبان یهود صدا زد و خطاب کرده، گفت: «کلام سلطان عظیم، پادشاه آشور را بشنوید.

So Rabshakeh stoode and cryed with a loude voyce in the Iewes language, and spake, saying, Heare the wordes of the great King, of the king of Asshur.

۲۹ 29 پادشاه چنین می‌گوید: حزقیا شما را فریب ندهد زیرا که اوشما را نمی تواند از دست وی برهاند.

Thus sayth the King, Let not Hezekiah deceiue you: for he shall not be able to deliuer you out of mine hand.

۳۰ 30 و حزقیاشما را بر یهوه مطمئن نسازد و نگوید که یهوه، البته ما را خواهد رهانید و این شهر به‌دست پادشاه آشور تسلیم نخواهد شد.

Neither let Hezekiah make you to trust in the Lord, saying, The Lord will surely deliuer vs, and this citie shall not be giuen ouer into the hand of the king of Asshur.

۳۱ 31 به حزقیاگوش مدهید زیرا که پادشاه آشور چنین می‌گوید: با من صلح کنید و نزد من بیرون آیید تا هرکس ازمو خود و هرکس از انجیر خویش بخورد وهرکس از آب چشمه خود بنوشد.

Hearken not vnto Hezekiah: for thus saith the king of Asshur, Make appointment with me, and come out to me, that euery man may eate of his owne vine, and euery man of his owne figge tree, and drinke euery man of the water of his owne well,

۳۲ 32 تا بیایم وشما را به زمین مانند زمین خودتان بیاورم، یعنی به زمین غله و شیره و زمین نان و تاکستانها و زمین زیتونهای نیکو و عسل تا زنده بمانید و نمیرید. پس به حزقیا گوش مدهید زیرا که شما را فریب می‌دهد و می‌گوید: یهوه ما را خواهد رهانید.

Till I come, and bring you to a land like your owne land, euen a land of wheate and wine, a land of bread and vineyardes, a lande of oliues oyle, and hony, that ye may liue and not die: and obey not Hezekiah, for he deceiueth you, saying, The Lord will deliuer vs.

۳۳ 33 آیا هیچکدام از خدایان امتها، هیچ وقت زمین خود را از دست پادشاه آشور رهانیده است؟

Hath any of the gods of the nations deliuered his lande out of the hand of the King of Asshur?

۳۴ 34 خدایان حمات و ارفاد کجایند؟ و خدایان سفروایم و هینع و عوا کجا؟ و آیا سامره را ازدست من رهانیده‌اند؟

Where is the god of Hamah, and of Arpad? where is the god of Sepharuaim, Hena and Iuah? how haue they deliuered Samaria out of mine hand?

۳۵ 35 از جمیع خدایان این زمینها کدامند که زمین خویش را از دست من نجات داده‌اند تا یهوه، اورشلیم را از دست من نجات دهد؟»

Who are they among all the gods of the nations, that haue deliuered their lande out of mine hand, that the Lord should deliuer Ierusalem out of mine hand?

۳۶ 36 اما قوم سکوت نموده، به او هیچ جواب ندادند زیرا که پادشاه امر فرموده بود و گفته بود که او را جواب ندهید.

But the people helde their peace, and answered not him a worde: for the Kings commandement was, saying, Answere ye him not.

۳۷ 37 پس الیاقیم بن حلقیا که ناظر خانه بود و شبنه کاتب و یوآخ بن آساف وقایع نگار با جامه دریده نزد حزقیا آمدند وسخنان ربشاقی را به او باز‌گفتند.

Then Eliakim, the sonne of Hilkiah which was steward of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and Ioah the sonne of Asaph the recorder came to Hezekiah with their clothes rent, and tolde him the wordes of Rabshakeh.
