اول پادشاهان 8

۱ 1 آنگاه سلیمان، مشایخ اسرائیل و جمیع روسای اسباط و سروران خانه های آبای بنی‌اسرائیل را نزد سلیمان پادشاه در اورشلیم جمع کرد تا تابوت عهد خداوند را از شهر داودکه صهیون باشد، برآورند.

Then, did Solomon call together the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, chiefs of the fathers of the sons of Israel, unto King Solomon in Jerusalem, —that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, out of the city of David, the same is Zion.

۲ 2 و جمیع مردان اسرائیل در ماه ایتانیم که ماه هفتم است در عیدنزد سلیمان پادشاه جمع شدند.

So all the men of Israel came together unto King Solomon, in the month of steady flowings, at the festival, —the same is the seventh month.

۳ 3 و جمیع مشایخ اسرائیل آمدند و کاهنان تابوت را برداشتند.

And all the elders of Israel came in, —and the priests took up the ark;

۴ 4 وتابوت خداوند و خیمه اجتماع و همه آلات مقدس را که در خیمه بود آوردند و کاهنان ولاویان آنها را برآوردند.

and they brought up the ark of Yahweh, and the Tent of Meeting, and all the hallowed vessels that were in the tent, —yea, the priests and the Levites, did bring them up.

۵ 5 و سلیمان پادشاه وتمامی جماعت اسرائیل که نزد وی جمع شده بودند، پیش روی تابوت همراه وی ایستادند، واینقدر گوسفند و گاو را ذبح کردند که به شمار وحساب نمی آمد.

And, King Solomon, and all the assembly of Israel who had assembled themselves unto him, were with him, before the ark, —sacrificing sheep and oxen, which could neither be recorded nor counted, for multitude.

۶ 6 و کاهنان تابوت عهد خداوندرا به مکانش در محراب خانه، یعنی درقدس‌الاقداس زیر بالهای کروبیان درآوردند.

So the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh into its place, into the shrine of the house, into the holy of holies, —under the wings of the cherubim.

۷ 7 زیرا کروبیان بالهای خود را بر مکان تابوت پهن می‌کردند و کروبیان تابوت و عصاهایش را از بالامی پوشانیدند.

For, the cherubim, were spreading forth their two wings, over the place of the ark, —and the cherubim made a covering over the ark and over the staves thereof, above.

۸ 8 و عصاها اینقدر دراز بود که سرهای عصاها از قدسی که پیش محراب بود، دیده می‌شد اما از بیرون دیده نمی شد و تا امروزدر آنجا هست.

And they drew out the staves, and the heads of the staves were seen from the holy place, in front of the shrine, although they were not seen on the outside, —and they have remained there until this day.

۹ 9 و در تابوت چیزی نبود سوای آن دو لوح سنگ که موسی در حوریب در آن گذاشت، وقتی که خداوند با بنی‌اسرائیل در حین بیرون آمدن ایشان از زمین مصر عهد بست.

There was nothing in the ark, save the two tables of stone, which Moses deposited there in Horeb, —the tables of the covenant which Yahweh solemnised with the sons of Israel, when they came forth out of the land of Egypt.

۱۰ 10 وواقع شد که چون کاهنان از قدس بیرون آمدند ابر، خانه خداوند را پر ساخت.

And so it was, when the priests came forth out of the holy place, that, a cloud, filled the house of Yahweh;

۱۱ 11 و کاهنان به‌سبب ابر نتوانستند به جهت خدمت بایستند، زیرا که جلال یهوه، خانه خداوند را پر کرده بود.

so that the priests could not stand to minister, because of the cloud, —for, the glory of Yahweh, filled, the house of Yahweh.

۱۲ 12 آنگاه سلیمان گفت: «خداوند گفته است که در تاریکی غلیظ ساکن می‌شوم.

Then, said Solomon, —Yahweh, said, that he would make his habitation in thick gloom:

۱۳ 13 فی الواقع خانه‌ای برای سکونت تو و مکانی را که در آن تا به ابد ساکن شوی بنا نموده‌ام.»

I have, built, a house as a high abode for thee, —A settled place for thee to abide in, for ages.

۱۴ 14 و پادشاه روی خود را برگردانیده، تمامی جماعت اسرائیل را برکت داد و تمامی جماعت اسرائیل بایستادند.

And the king turned about his face, and blessed all the convocation of Israel, —while all the convocation of Israel was standing;

۱۵ 15 پس گفت: «یهوه خدای اسرائیل متبارک باد که به دهان خود به پدر من داود وعده داده، و به‌دست خود آن را به‌جاآورده، گفت:

and he said—Blessed, be Yahweh, God of Israel, who spake with his mouth, unto David my father, —that which with his hand he hath fulfilled, saying: —

۱۶ 16 از روزی که قوم خود اسرائیل رااز مصر برآوردم، شهری از جمیع اسباط اسرائیل برنگزیدم تا خانه‌ای بنا نمایم که اسم من در آن باشد، اما داود را برگزیدم تا پیشوای قوم من اسرائیل بشود.

Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel, out of Egypt, I had chosen no city, out of all the tribes of Israel, for building a house, where my Name might be, —but I have chosen Jerusalem, that my Name should be there, and I have chosen David, to be over my people Israel:

۱۷ 17 و در دل پدرم، داود بود که خانه‌ای برای اسم یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، بنانماید.

And so it came to pass, that it was near the heart of David my father, —to build a house for the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel.

۱۸ 18 اما خداوند به پدرم داود گفت: چون دردل تو بود که خانه‌ای برای اسم من بنا نمایی، نیکوکردی که این را در دل خود نهادی.

Then said Yahweh unto David my father, Because it was near thy heart to build a house for my Name, thou didst well that it was near thy heart;

۱۹ 19 لیکن توخانه را بنا نخواهی نمود بلکه پسر تو که از صلب تو بیرون آید، او خانه را برای اسم من بنا خواهدکرد.

Only, thou thyself, must not build the house, —but, thine own son who hath proceeded out of thy loins, he, shall build the house, for my Name.

۲۰ 20 پس خداوند کلامی را که گفته بود ثابت گردانید، و من به‌جای پدر خود داود برخاسته، وبر وفق آنچه خداوند گفته بود بر کرسی اسرائیل نشسته‌ام، و خانه را به اسم یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، بنا کرده‌ام.

So then Yahweh hath established his word which he spake, —and I have been raised up in the room of David my father, and have taken my seat upon the throne of Israel, as spake Yahweh, and have built the house for the Name of Yahweh, God of Israel;

۲۱ 21 و در آن، مکانی مقرر کرده‌ام برای تابوتی که عهد خداوند در آن است که آن را باپدران ما حین بیرون آوردن ایشان از مصر بسته بود.»

and have appointed there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of Yahweh, —which he solemnised with our fathers, when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt.

۲۲ 22 و سلیمان پیش مذبح خداوند به حضورتمامی جماعت اسرائیل ایستاده، دستهای خودرا به سوی آسمان برافراشت

And Solomon stood before the altar of Yahweh, in the presence of all the convocation of Israel, —and spread forth his hands towards the heavens;

۲۳ 23 و گفت: «ای یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، خدایی مثل تو نه بالا درآسمان و نه پایین بر زمین هست که با بندگان خودکه به حضور تو به تمامی دل خویش سلوک می‌نمایند، عهد و رحمت را نگاه می‌داری.

and said—O Yahweh, God of Israel! Not like thee, is there a God, in the heavens above, or upon the earth beneath, —keeping Covenant and Lovingkindness for thy servants who are walking before thee, with all their heart;

۲۴ 24 وآن وعده‌ای که به بنده خود، پدرم داود داده‌ای، نگاه داشته‌ای زیرا به دهان خود وعده دادی و به‌دست خود آن را وفا نمودی چنانکه امروز شده است.

who hast kept for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him, —in that thou didst promise with thy mouth, and, with thy hand, hast fulfilled, as it is this day.

۲۵ 25 پس الان‌ای یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، بابنده خود، پدرم داود، آن وعده‌ای را نگاه دار که به او داده و گفته‌ای کسی‌که بر کرسی اسرائیل بنشیند برای تو به حضور من منقطع نخواهد شد، به شرطی که پسرانت طریق های خود را نگاه داشته، به حضور من سلوک نمایند چنانکه تو به حضورم رفتار نمودی.

Now, therefore, O Yahweh, God of Israel, keep thou for thy servant David my father, that which thou didst promise him, saying, There shall not be cut off to thee a man from before me, to sit upon the throne of Israel, —if only, thy sons take heed to their way, by walking before me, as thou hast walked before me.

۲۶ 26 و الان‌ای خدای اسرائیل تمنا اینکه کلامی که به بنده خود، پدرم داود گفته‌ای، ثابت بشود.

Now, therefore, O God of Israel, —verified be thy word, I pray thee, which thou didst speak to thy servant, David my father.

۲۷ 27 «اما آیا خدا فی الحقیقه بر زمین ساکن خواهد شد؟ اینک فلک و فلک الافلاک تو راگنجایش ندارد تا چه رسد به این خانه‌ای که من بناکرده‌ام.

But, in very deed, will God dwell, upon the earth? Lo! the heaven, yea the heaven of heavens, cannot contain thee, how much less this house which I have built?

۲۸ 28 لیکن‌ای یهوه، خدای من، به دعا وتضرع بنده خود توجه نما و استغاثه و دعایی راکه بنده ات امروز به حضور تو می‌کند، بشنو،

Yet wilt thou turn unto the prayer of thy servant, and unto his supplication, O Yahweh my God, —to hearken unto the cry, and unto the prayer, wherewith thy servant doth pray before thee to-day;

۲۹ 29 تاآنکه شب و روز چشمان تو بر این خانه باز شود وبر مکانی که درباره‌اش گفتی که اسم من در آنجاخواهد بود و تا دعایی را که بنده ات به سوی این مکان بنماید، اجابت کنی.

that thine eye may be opened toward this house, night and day, toward the place of which thou hast said, My Name shall be, there; hearkening unto the prayer which thy servant shall offer toward this place.

۳۰ 30 و تضرع بنده ات و قوم خود اسرائیل را که به سوی این مکان دعامی نمایند، بشنو و از مکان سکونت خود، یعنی ازآسمان بشنو و چون شنیدی عفو نما.

Wilt, thou, therefore, hearken unto the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, whensoever they shall pray toward this place, —yea wilt, thou thyself, hear, in thine own dwelling-place, in the heavens, and, when thou hearest, then wilt thou forgive?

۳۱ 31 «اگر کسی به همسایه خود گناه ورزد وقسم بر او عرضه شود که بخورد و او آمده پیش مذبح تو در این خانه قسم خورد،

When a man shall sin against his neighbour, and there shall be taken up against him an oath, to put him on oath, —and he shall come in and swear before thine altar, in this house,

۳۲ 32 آنگاه ازآسمان بشنو و عمل نموده، به جهت بندگانت حکم نما و شریران را ملزم ساخته، راه ایشان را به‌سر ایشان برسان و عادلان را عادل شمرده، ایشان را بر‌حسب عدالت ایشان جزا ده.

then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, and act, and judge thy servants, condemning the lawless, by setting his way upon his own head, —and justifying the righteous, by giving to him, according to his righteousness?

۳۳ 33 «و هنگامی که قوم تو اسرائیل به‌سبب گناهی که به تو ورزیده باشند به حضور دشمنان خود مغلوب شوند اگر به سوی تو بازگشت نموده، اسم تو را اعتراف نمایند و نزد تو در این خانه دعا و تضرع نمایند،

When thy people Israel are smitten before an enemy, because they have been sinning against thee, —and they turn again unto thee, and confess thy Name, and pray and make supplication unto thee, in this house,

۳۴ 34 آنگاه از آسمان بشنوو گناه قوم خود، اسرائیل را بیامرز و ایشان را به زمینی که به پدران ایشان داده‌ای بازآور.

then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them back unto the soil, which thou gavest unto their fathers?

۳۵ 35 «هنگامی که آسمان بسته شود و به‌سبب گناهی که به تو ورزیده باشند باران نبارد، اگر به سوی این مکان دعا کنند و اسم تو را اعتراف نمایند و به‌سبب مصیبتی که به ایشان رسانیده باشی از گناه خویش بازگشت کنند،

When the heavens are shut up, and there is no rain, because they have been sinning against thee, —and they shall pray toward this place, and confess thy Name, and, from their sin, shall return, because thou hast been afflicting them,

۳۶ 36 آنگاه ازآسمان بشنو و گناه بندگانت و قوم خود اسرائیل را بیامرز و ایشان را به راه نیکو که در آن باید رفت، تعلیم ده و به زمین خود که آن را به قوم خویش برای میراث بخشیده‌ای، باران بفرست.

then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou mayest teach them the good way, wherein they should walk, —and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people, for an inheritance?

۳۷ 37 «اگر در زمین قحطی باشد و اگر وبا یا بادسموم یا یرقان باشد و اگر ملخ یا کرم باشد و اگردشمنان ایشان، ایشان را در شهرهای زمین ایشان محاصره نمایند، هر بلایی یا هر مرضی که بوده باشد،

When there shall be, famine, in the land, when there shall be, pestilence, when there shall be, blasting, mildew locust, caterpillar, when their enemy shall besiege them in one of their own gates, —whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness;

۳۸ 38 آنگاه هر دعا و هر استغاثه‌ای که از هرمرد یا از تمامی قوم تو، اسرائیل، کرده شود که هریک از ایشان بلای دل خود را خواهند دانست، و دستهای خود را به سوی این خانه دراز نمایند،

any prayer, any supplication which, any son of earth, may have, of all thy people Israel, —who will certainly know every man the plague of his own heart, and so he shall spread abroad his hands towards this house,

۳۹ 39 آنگاه از آسمان که مکان سکونت تو باشد بشنوو بیامرز و عمل نموده، به هر کس که دل او رامی دانی به حسب راههایش جزا بده، زیرا که تو به تنهایی عارف قلوب جمیع بنی آدم هستی.

then wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, in the settled place of thine abode, and forgive and act, and give unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou wilt know, —for, thou thyself alone, knowest the heart of all the sons of men;

۴۰ 40 تاآنکه ایشان در تمام روزهایی که به روی زمینی که به پدران ما داده‌ای زنده باشند، از توبترسند.

to the end they may revere thee, all the days which they do live, upon the face of the soil, —which thou gavest unto our fathers?

۴۱ 41 «و نیز غریبی که از قوم تو، اسرائیل، نباشدو به‌خاطر اسم تو از زمین بعید آمده باشد،

Moreover also, unto the stranger, who is, not of thy people Israel, —but hath come in out of a far country, for the sake of thy Name, —

۴۲ 42 زیراکه آوازه اسم عظیمت و دست قویت و بازوی دراز تو را خواهند شنید، پس چون بیاید و به سوی این خانه دعا نماید،

(for they will certainly hear of thy great Name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched-out arm, —and so will come in and pray towards this house),

۴۳ 43 آنگاه از آسمان که مکان سکونت توست بشنو و موافق هر‌چه آن غریب از تو استدعا نماید به عمل آور تا جمیع قومهای جهان اسم تو را بشناسند و مثل قوم تو، اسرائیل، از تو بترسند و بدانند که اسم تو بر این خانه‌ای که بنا کرده‌ام، نهاده شده است.

wilt, thou thyself, hear in the heavens, the settled place of thine abode, and act, according to all for which, the stranger, shall cry unto thee, —to the end that all the peoples of the earth may truly know thy Name, so as to revere thee, like thy people Israel, and to know that, thine own Name, hath been given unto this house, which I have built?

۴۴ 44 «اگر قوم تو برای مقاتله با دشمنان خود به راهی که ایشان را فرستاده باشی بیرون روند وایشان به سوی شهری که تو برگزیده‌ای و خانه‌ای که به جهت اسم تو بنا کرده‌ام، نزد خداوند دعانمایند،

When thy people go forth to war against their enemy, whithersoever thou mayest send them, —and shall pray unto Yahweh, in the direction of the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy Name,

۴۵ 45 آنگاه دعا و تضرع ایشان را از آسمان بشنو و حق ایشان را بجا آور.

then wilt thou hear, in the heavens, their prayer and their supplication, —and maintain their cause?

۴۶ 46 «و اگر به تو گناه ورزیده باشند زیرا انسانی نیست که گناه نکند و تو بر ایشان غضبناک شده، ایشان را به‌دست دشمنان تسلیم کرده باشی واسیرکنندگان ایشان، ایشان را به زمین دشمنان خواه دور و خواه نزدیک به اسیری ببرند،

When they sin against thee—for there is, no son of earth, that sinneth not, and thou shalt be angry with them, and deliver them up before an enemy, —who shall carry them away as their captives, into the land of the enemy, far or near;

۴۷ 47 پس اگر ایشان در زمینی که در آن اسیر باشند به خودآمده، بازگشت نمایند و در زمین اسیری خود نزدتو تضرع نموده، گویند که گناه کرده، و عصیان ورزیده، و شریرانه رفتار نموده‌ایم،

and they come back to their right mind, in the land whither they have been taken captive, —and so turn and make supplication unto thee, in the land of their captors, saying, We have sinned and done perversely, we have been lawless;

۴۸ 48 و در زمین دشمنانی که ایشان را به اسیری برده باشند به تمامی دل و به تمامی جان خود به تو بازگشت نمایند، و به سوی زمینی که به پدران ایشان داده‌ای و شهری که برگزیده و خانه‌ای که برای اسم تو بنا کرده‌ام، نزد تو دعا نمایند،

and so they turn unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, who have carried them away captive, —and pray unto thee in the direction of their own land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy Name,

۴۹ 49 آنگاه ازآسمان که مکان سکونت توست، دعا و تضرع ایشان را بشنو و حق ایشان را بجا آور.

then wilt thou hearken in the heavens, the settled place of thine abode, unto their prayer, and unto their supplication, —and maintain their cause;

۵۰ 50 و قوم خود را که به تو گناه ورزیده باشند، عفو نما وتمامی تقصیرهای ایشان را که به تو ورزیده باشندبیامرز و ایشان را در دل اسیرکنندگان ایشان ترحم عطا فرما تا بر ایشان ترحم نمایند.

and grant forgiveness to thy people, who have sinned against thee, even as to all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, —and grant them compassion before their captors, so that they may have compassion upon them;

۵۱ 51 زیراکه ایشان قوم تو و میراث تو می‌باشند که ازمصر از میان کوره آهن بیرون آوردی.

because, thy people and thine inheritance, they are, —whom thou didst bring forth out of Egypt, out of the midst of the smelting-pot of iron;

۵۲ 52 تاچشمان تو به تضرع بنده ات و به تضرع قوم تواسرائیل گشاده شود و ایشان را در هر‌چه نزدتو دعا نمایند، اجابت نمایی.

that thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, —to hearken unto them, in all their crying unto thee;

۵۳ 53 زیرا که توایشان را از جمیع قومهای جهان برای ارثیت خویش ممتاز نموده‌ای چنانکه به واسطه بنده خود موسی وعده دادی هنگامی که تو‌ای خداوند یهوه پدران ما را از مصر بیرون آوردی.»

because, thou thyself, didst separate them unto thee, for an inheritance, out of all the peoples of the earth, —as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest forth our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord Yahweh.

۵۴ 54 و واقع شد که چون سلیمان از گفتن تمامی این دعا و تضرع نزد خداوند فارغ شد، از پیش مذبح خداوند از زانو زدن و دراز نمودن دستهای خود به سوی آسمان برخاست،

And it came to pass, when Solomon had made an end of praying unto Yahweh all this prayer and supplication, that he arose from before the altar of Yahweh, from kneeling on his knees, with his hands outspread to the heavens;

۵۵ 55 و ایستاده، تمامی جماعت اسرائیل را به آواز بلند برکت دادو گفت:

and stood and blessed all the convocation of Israel, —with a loud voice, saying:

۵۶ 56 «متبارک باد خداوند که قوم خود، اسرائیل را موافق هر‌چه وعده کرده بود، آرامی داده است زیرا که از تمامی وعده های نیکو که به واسطه بنده خود، موسی داده بود، یک سخن به زمین نیفتاد.

Blessed, be Yahweh, who hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised, —there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

۵۷ 57 یهوه خدای ما با ما باشد چنانکه با پدران مامی بود و ما را ترک نکند و رد نماید.

Yahweh our God be with us, as he was with our fathers, —let him not leave us, nor forsake us;

۵۸ 58 و دلهای مارا به سوی خود مایل بگرداند تا در تمامی طریق هایش سلوک نموده، اوامر و فرایض واحکام او را که به پدران ما امر فرموده بود، نگاه داریم.

but bow our heart unto himself, —to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his regulations, which he commanded our fathers.

۵۹ 59 و کلمات این دعایی که نزد خداوندگفته‌ام، شب و روز نزدیک یهوه خدای ما باشد تاحق بنده خود و حق قوم خویش اسرائیل را برحسب اقتضای هر روز بجا آورد.

And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before Yahweh, be near unto Yahweh our God, day and night, —that he may maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel, as any need ariseth:

۶۰ 60 تا تمامی قوم های جهان بدانند که یهوه خداست و دیگری نیست.

To the end that all the peoples of the earth may know, that, Yahweh, is God, —there is none else.

۶۱ 61 پس دل شما با یهوه خدای ما کامل باشد تا در فرایض او سلوک نموده، اوامر او رامثل امروز نگاه دارید.»

So shall your heart be sound with Yahweh our God, —to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

۶۲ 62 پس پادشاه و تمامی اسرائیل با وی به حضور خداوند قربانی‌ها گذرانیدند.

And, the king, and all Israel with him, were offering sacrifice before Yahweh.

۶۳ 63 و سلیمان به جهت ذبایح سلامتی که برای خداوند گذارنید، بیست و دو هزار گاو و صد و بیست هزار گوسفندذبح نمود و پادشاه و جمیع بنی‌اسرائیل، خانه خداوند را تبریک نمودند.

So Solomon offered as a sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered unto Yahweh—Oxen, two and twenty thousand, and Sheep, a hundred and twenty thousand, —Thus did, the king and all the sons of Israel, dedicate the house of Yahweh.

۶۴ 64 و در آن روز پادشاه وسط صحن را که پیش خانه خداوند است تقدیس نمود زیرا چونکه مذبح برنجینی که به حضور خداوند بود به جهت گنجایش قربانی های سوختنی و هدایای آردی و پیه قربانی های سلامتی کوچک بود، از آن جهت قربانی های سوختنی و هدایای آردی و پیه ذبایح سلامتی را در آنجا گذرانید.

On that day, did the king hallow the middle of the court, that was before the house of Yahweh, —for he offered there the ascending-sacrifice, and the meal-offering, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings, because, the altar of bronze that was before Yahweh, was too small to receive the ascending-sacrifice and the meal-offering, and the fat portions of the peace-offerings.

۶۵ 65 و در آن وقت سلیمان و تمامی اسرائیل باوی عید را نگاه داشتند و آن انجمن بزرگ ازمدخل حمات تا وادی مصر هفت روز و هفت روز یعنی چهارده روز به حضور یهوه، خدای مابودند.

And Solomon made, at that time, a festival—and all Israel with him—a great convocation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the ravine of Egypt, before Yahweh our God, seven days, and seven days, —fourteen days.

۶۶ 66 و در روز هشتم، قوم را مرخص فرمودو ایشان برای پادشاه برکت خواسته، و با شادمانی و خوشدلی به‌سبب تمامی احسانی که خداوند به بنده خود، داود و به قوم خویش اسرائیل نموده بود، به خیمه های خود رفتند.

And on the eighth day, he sent the people away, and they blessed the king, —and departed to their homes, rejoicing and glad of heart, over all the goodness which Yahweh had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
