اول پادشاهان 21

۱ 1 و بعد از این امور، واقع شد که نابوت یزرعیلی، تاکستانی در یزرعیل به پهلوی قصر اخاب، پادشاه سامره، داشت.

And it came to pass, after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had, a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, —hard by the palace of Ahab, king of Samaria.

۲ 2 واخاب، نابوت را خطاب کرده، گفت: «تاکستان خود را به من بده تا باغ سبزی کاری، برای من بشود زیرا نزدیک خانه من است، و به عوض آن تاکستانی نیکوتر از آن به تو خواهم داد، یا اگر درنظرت پسند آید قیمتش را نقره خواهم داد.»

Ahab, therefore, spake unto Naboth, saying—Come! give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, for, the same, is near by my house, and let me give thee, instead thereof, a vineyard better than it, —if it be good in thine eyes, I will give thee silver to the value of this.

۳ 3 نابوت به اخاب گفت: «حاشا بر من از خداوندکه ارث اجداد خود را به تو بدهم.»

And Naboth said unto Ahab, —Far be it from me, of Yahweh! that I should give up the inheritance of my fathers, unto thee!

۴ 4 پس اخاب به‌سبب سخنی که نابوت یزرعیلی به او گفته بود، پریشان حال و مغموم شده، به خانه خود رفت زیرا گفته بود ارث اجداد خود را به تو نخواهم داد. و بر بستر خود دراز شده، رویش را برگردانیدو طعام نخورد.

So Ahab came into his house, sullen and disturbed, because of the word which Naboth the Jezreelite had spoken unto him, that he should have said, I will not give thee the inheritance of my fathers. So he laid him down upon his bed, and turned away his face, and did eat no food.

۵ 5 و زنش، ایزابل نزد وی آمده، وی را گفت: «روح تو چرا پریشان است که طعام نمی خوری؟»

Then came unto him Jezebel his wife, —and said unto him—Why is it, that thy spirit is sullen, that thou art, not eating food?

۶ 6 او وی را گفت: «از این جهت که نابوت یزرعیلی را خطاب کرده، گفتم: تاکستان خود را به نقره به من بده یا اگر بخواهی به عوض آن، تاکستان دیگری به تو خواهم داد، و او جواب داد که تاکستان خود را به تو نمی دهم.»

And he said unto her—Because I spake unto Naboth, the Jezreelite, and said unto him—Come! give me thy vineyard for silver, or, if thou wouldst prefer, I will give thee a vineyard, in its stead; and he said—I will not give thee my vineyard.

۷ 7 زنش ایزابل به او گفت: «آیا تو الان بر اسرائیل سلطنت می‌کنی؟ برخیز و غذا بخور و دلت خوش باشد. من تاکستان نابوت یزرعیلی را به تو خواهم داد.»

Then Jezebel his wife said unto him: Art, thou, still, going to carry on the kingdom over Israel? Rise! eat food, and let thy heart be merry, I, will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite!

۸ 8 آنگاه مکتوبی به اسم اخاب نوشته، آن را به مهر او مختوم ساخت و مکتوب را نزد مشایخ ونجبایی که با نابوت در شهرش ساکن بودند، فرستاد.

So she wrote letters, in the name of Ahab, and sealed them with his signet-ring, —and sent the letters unto the elders, and unto the nobles who were in his city, dwelling with Naboth.

۹ 9 و در مکتوب بدین مضمون نوشت: «به روزه اعلان کنید و نابوت را به صدر قوم بنشانید.

Now she wrote in the letters, saying, —Proclaim ye a fast, and cause Naboth to sit at the head of the people;

۱۰ 10 و دو نفر از بنی بلیعال را پیش او وا دارید که براو شهادت داده، بگویند که تو خدا و پادشاه را کفرگفته‌ای. پس او را بیرون کشیده، سنگسار کنید تابمیرد.»

then let two reckless men take their seats before him, that they may bear witness against him, saying, Thou hast reviled God and king! then shall ye carry him forth and stone him, that he die.

۱۱ 11 پس اهل شهرش، یعنی مشایخ ونجبایی که در شهر ساکن بودند، موافق پیغامی که ایزابل نزد ایشان فرستاده، و بر‌حسب مضمون مکتوبی که نزد ایشان ارسال کرده بود، به عمل آوردند.

So the men of his city, the elders and the nobles who dwelt in his city, did just as Jezebel had sent unto them, —as it was written in the letters which she had sent unto them:

۱۲ 12 و به روزه اعلان کرده، نابوت را درصدر قوم نشانیدند.

they proclaimed a fast, —and caused Naboth to sit at the head of the people.

۱۳ 13 و دو نفر از بنی بلیعال درآمده، پیش وی نشستند و آن مردان بلیعال به حضور قوم بر نابوت شهادت داده، گفتند که نابوت بر خدا و پادشاه کفر گفته است، و او را ازشهر بیرون کشیده، وی را سنگسار کردند تا بمرد.

Then came in the two reckless men, and sat before him, and the men bare witness against him, even against Naboth, before the people, saying, Naboth hath reviled God and king! So they carried him forth, outside the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.

۱۴ 14 و نزد ایزابل فرستاده، گفتند که نابوت سنگسارشده و مرده است.

Then sent they unto Jezebel, saying, —Naboth is stoned and is dead.

۱۵ 15 و چون ایزابل شنید که نابوت سنگسارشده، و مرده است، ایزابل به اخاب گفت: «برخیزو تاکستان نابوت یزرعیل را که او نخواست آن رابه تو به نقره بدهد، متصرف شو، زیرا که نابوت زنده نیست بلکه مرده است.»

And it came to pass, when Jezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, that Jezebel said unto Ahab—Rise! take possession of the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, which he refused to give thee for silver, for Naboth is not alive, but dead!

۱۶ 16 و چون اخاب شنید که نابوت مرده است اخاب برخاسته، به جهت تصرف تاکستان نابوت یزرعیلی فرود آمد.

And it came to pass, when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, that Ahab arose, to go down unto the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite, to take possession thereof.

۱۷ 17 و کلام خداوند نزد ایلیای تشبی نازل شده، گفت:

Then came the word of Yahweh unto Elijah the Tishbite, saying:

۱۸ 18 «برخیز و برای ملاقات اخاب، پادشاه اسرائیل که در سامره است فرود شو اینک او در تاکستان نابوت است که به آنجا فرود شد تا آن رامتصرف شود.

Arise! go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria, —lo! he is in the vineyard of Naboth, whither he hath gone down, to take possession thereof.

۱۹ 19 و او را خطاب کرده، بگوخداوند چنین می‌گوید: آیا هم قتل نمودی و هم متصرف شدی؟ و باز او را خطاب کرده، بگوخداوند چنین می‌گوید: در جایی که سگان خون نابوت را لیسیدند سگان خون تو را نیز خواهندلیسید.»

Then shalt thou speak unto him, saying—Thus, saith Yahweh, Hast thou committed murder, and also taken possession? Then shalt thou speak unto him, saying: Thus, saith Yahweh, In the place where the dogs have lapped up the blood of Naboth, shall the dogs lap up thy blood, even thine.

۲۰ 20 اخاب به ایلیا گفت: «ای دشمن من، آیا مرایافتی؟» او جواب داد: «بلی تو را یافتم زیرا توخود را فروخته‌ای تا آنچه در نظر خداوند بداست، بجا آوری.

Then said Ahab unto Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he said: I have found [thee]! Because thou hast sold thyself to do the thing that is wicked in the eyes of Yahweh,

۲۱ 21 اینک من بر تو بلا آورده، تورا بالکل هلاک خواهم ساخت، و از اخاب هرمرد را خواه محبوس و خواه آزاد در اسرائیل منقطع خواهم ساخت.

Behold me! [saith he] bringing in upon thee, calamity, and I will consume after thee, —and cut off of Ahab, even the meanest, whether shut up or left at large in Israel;

۲۲ 22 و خاندان تو را مثل خاندان یربعام بن نباط و مانند خاندان بعشا ابن اخیا خواهم ساخت به‌سبب اینکه خشم مرا به هیجان آورده، و اسرائیل را مرتکب گناه ساخته‌ای.»

and will deliver up thy house—Like the house of Jeroboam son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha son of Ahijah, —for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked, and caused, Israel, to sin.

۲۳ 23 و درباره ایزابل نیز خداوند تکلم نموده، گفت: «سگان ایزابل را نزد حصار یزرعیل خواهند خورد.

Moreover also, concerning Jezebel, hath Yahweh spoken, saying, —The dogs, shall eat Jezebel, in the town-land of Jezreel:

۲۴ 24 هر‌که را از کسان اخاب درشهر بمیرد، سگان بخورند و هر‌که را در صحرابمیرد مرغان هوا بخورند.»

Him that dieth, of Ahab, in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, —and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat.

۲۵ 25 و کسی نبود مثل اخاب که خویشتن رابرای بجا آوردن آنچه در نظر خداوند بد است فروخت، و زنش ایزابل او را اغوا نمود.

But indeed, there was none like Ahab, who sold himself to do the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —whom Jezebel his wife goaded on;

۲۶ 26 و درپیروی بتها رجاسات بسیار می‌نمود، برحسب آنچه اموریانی که خداوند ایشان را از حضوربنی‌اسرائیل اخراج نموده بود، می‌کردند.

so that he did very abominably, in going after the manufactured gods, —according to all which the Amorites had done, whom Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.

۲۷ 27 و چون اخاب این سخنان را شنید، جامه خود را چاک زده، پلاس در بر کرد و روزه گرفته، بر پلاس خوابید و به سکوت راه می‌رفت.

And it came to pass, when Ahab heard these words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, —and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.

۲۸ 28 آنگاه کلام خداوند بر ایلیای تشبی نازل شده، گفت:

Then came the word of Yahweh unto Elijah the Tishbite, saying:

۲۹ 29 «آیا اخاب را دیدی چگونه به حضورمن متواضع شده است؟ پس از این جهت که درحضور من تواضع می‌نماید، این بلا را در ایام وی نمی آوردم، لیکن در ایام پسرش، این بلا را برخاندانش عارض خواهم گردانید.»

Hast thou seen that Ahab hath humbled himself, before me? Because he hath humbled himself before me, I will not bring in the calamity in his days, In the days of his son, will I bring in the calamity upon his house.
