اول پادشاهان 10

۱ 1 و چون ملکه سبا آوازه سلیمان رادرباره اسم خداوند شنید، آمد تا او رابه مسائل امتحان کند.

And the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon in connection with the name of Jehovah, and came to prove him with enigmas.

۲ 2 پس با موکب بسیار عظیم و با شترانی که به عطریات و طلای بسیار وسنگهای گرانبها بار شده بود به اورشلیم واردشده، به حضور سلیمان آمد و با وی از هر‌چه دردلش بود، گفتگو کرد.

And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bore spices and gold in very great abundance, and precious stones; and she came to Solomon, and spoke to him of all that was in her heart.

۳ 3 و سلیمان تمامی مسائلش را برایش بیان نمود و چیزی از پادشاه مخفی نماند که برایش بیان نکرد.

And Solomon explained to her all she spoke of: there was not a thing hidden from the king that he did not explain to her.

۴ 4 و چون ملکه سبا تمامی حکمت سلیمان را دید و خانه‌ای را که بنا کرده بود،

And when the queen of Sheba saw all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,

۵ 5 و طعام سفره او و مجلس بندگانش را و نظام و لباس خادمانش را و ساقیانش وزینه‌ای را که به آن به خانه خداوند برمی آمد، روح در او دیگر نماند.

and the food of his table, and the deportment of his servants, and the order of service of his attendants, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up to the house of Jehovah, there was no more spirit in her.

۶ 6 و به پادشاه گفت: «آوازه‌ای که درباره کارها وحکمت تو در ولایت خود شنیدم، راست بود.

And she said to the king, It was a true report that I heard in mine own land of thine affairs, and of thy wisdom;

۷ 7 اما تا نیامدم و به چشمان خود ندیدم، اخبار راباور نکردم، و اینک نصفش به من اعلام نشده بود؛ حکمت و سعادتمندی تو از خبری که شنیده بودم، زیاده است.

but I gave no credit to the words, until I came and mine eyes had seen; and behold, the half was not told me: in wisdom and prosperity thou exceedest the report that I heard.

۸ 8 خوشابه‌حال مردان تو وخوشابه‌حال این بندگانت که به حضور تو همیشه می‌ایستند و حکمت تو را می‌شنوند.

Happy are thy men! happy are these thy servants, who stand continually before thee, who hear thy wisdom!

۹ 9 متبارک بادیهوه، خدای تو، که بر تو رغبت داشته، تو را برکرسی اسرائیل نشانید.

Blessed be Jehovah thy God, who delighted in thee, to set thee on the throne of Israel! Because Jehovah loves Israel for ever, therefore did he make thee king, to do judgment and justice.

۱۰ 10 از این سبب که خداوند، اسرائیل را تا به ابد دوست می‌دارد، تو رابر پادشاهی نصب نموده است تا داوری و عدالت را بجا آوری.»

And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and spices in very great abundance, and precious stones: there came no more such abundance of spices as those which the queen of Sheba gave to king Solomon.

۱۱ 11 و به پادشاه صد و بیست وزنه طلا وعطریات از حد زیاده و سنگهای گرانبها داد، ومثل این عطریات که ملکه سبا به سلیمان پادشاه داد، هرگز به آن فراوانی دیگر نیامد.

(And the fleet also of Hiram, which carried gold from Ophir, brought from Ophir sandal-wood in very great abundance, and precious stones.

۱۲ 12 وکشتیهای حیرام نیز که طلا از اوفیر آوردند، چوب صندل از حد زیاده، و سنگهای گرانبها ازاوفیر آوردند.

And the king made of the sandal-wood a balustrade for the house of Jehovah, and for the king's house, and harps and lutes for the singers. There came no such sandal-wood, nor was there seen to this day.)

۱۳ 13 و پادشاه از این چوب صندل، ستونها به جهت خانه خداوند و خانه پادشاه و عودها وبربطها برای مغنیان ساخت، و مثل این چوب صندل تا امروز نیامده و دیده نشده است.

And king Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, besides what he gave her of the bounty of king Solomon. And she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.

۱۴ 14 و سلیمان پادشاه به ملکه سبا، تمامی اراده او را که خواسته بود داد، سوای آنچه سلیمان ازکرم ملوکانه خویش به وی بخشید. پس او بابندگانش به ولایت خود توجه نموده، رفت.

And the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

۱۵ 15 و وزن طلایی که در یک سال نزد سلیمان رسید ششصد و شصت و شش وزنه طلا بود.

besides what [came] by the dealers, and by the traffic of the merchants, and by all the kings of Arabia, and by the governors of the country.

۱۶ 16 سوای آنچه از تاجران و تجارت بازرگانان وجمیع پادشاهان عرب و حاکمان مملکت می‌رسید.

And king Solomon made two hundred targets of beaten gold, — he applied six hundred [shekels] of gold to one target;

۱۷ 17 و سلیمان پادشاه دویست سپرطلای چکشی ساخت که برای هر سپر ششصدمثقال طلا به‌کار برده شد، و سیصد سپر کوچک طلای چکشی ساخت که برای هر سپر سه منای طلا به‌کار برده شد، و پادشاه آنها را در خانه جنگل لبنان گذاشت.

and three hundred shields of beaten gold, — he applied three minas of gold to one shield; and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon.

۱۸ 18 و پادشاه تخت بزرگی ازعاج ساخت و آن را به زر خالص پوشانید.

And the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with refined gold:

۱۹ 19 وتخت را شش پله بود و سر تخت از عقبش مدوربود، و به این طرف و آن طرف کرسی‌اش دسته هابود و دو شیر به پهلوی دستها ایستاده بودند.

the throne had six steps, and the top of the throne was rounded behind; and there were arms on each side at the place of the seat, and two lions stood beside the arms;

۲۰ 20 وآنجا دوازده شیر از این طرف و آن طرف بر آن شش پله ایستاده بودند که در هیچ مملکت مثل این ساخته نشده بود.

and twelve lions stood there on the one side and on the other upon the six steps: there was not the like made in any kingdom.

۲۱ 21 و تمامی ظروف نوشیدنی سلیمان پادشاه از طلا و تمامی ظروف خانه جنگل لبنان از زر خالص بود و هیچ‌یکی ازآنها از نقره نبود زیرا که آن در ایام سلیمان هیچ به حساب نمی آمد.

And all king Solomon's drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the house of the forest of Lebanon were of precious gold: none were of silver, [which] was not of the least account in the days of Solomon.

۲۲ 22 زیرا پادشاه کشتیهای ترشیشی با کشتیهای حیرام به روی دریا داشت. وکشتیهای ترشیشی هر سال یک مرتبه می‌آمدند وطلا و نقره و عاج و میمونها و طاووسهامی آوردند.

For the king had on the sea a Tarshish-fleet, with the fleet of Hiram: once in three years came the Tarshish-fleet, bringing gold and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

۲۳ 23 پس سلیمان پادشاه در دولت و حکمت ازجمیع پادشاهان جهان بزرگتر شد.

And king Solomon was greater than all the kings of the earth in riches and in wisdom.

۲۴ 24 و تمامی اهل جهان، حضور سلیمان را می‌طلبیدند تاحکمتی را که خداوند در دلش نهاده بود، بشنوند.

And all the earth sought the presence of Solomon, to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

۲۵ 25 و هر یکی از ایشان هدیه خود را از آلات نقره و آلات طلا و رخوت و اسلحه و عطریات واسبان و قاطرها، سال به سال می‌آوردند.

And they brought every man his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and clothing, and armour, and spices, horses and mules, a rate year by year.

۲۶ 26 و سلیمان ارابه‌ها و سواران جمع کرده، هزار و چهارصد ارابه و دوازده هزار سوار داشت و آنها را در شهرهای ارابه‌ها و نزد پادشاه دراورشلیم گذاشت.

And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; and he had a thousand four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; and he placed them in the chariot-cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.

۲۷ 27 و پادشاه نقره را در اورشلیم مثل سنگها و چوب سرو آزاد را مثل چوب افراغ که در صحراست، فراوان ساخت.

And the king made silver in Jerusalem as stones, and cedars made he as the sycamores that are in the lowland for abundance.

۲۸ 28 و اسبهای سلیمان از مصر آورده می‌شد، و تاجران پادشاه دسته های آنها را می‌خریدند هر دسته را به قیمت معین.

And the exportation of horses that Solomon had was from Egypt: a caravan of the king's merchants fetched a drove [of horses], at a price.

۲۹ 29 و یک ارابه را به قیمت ششصد مثقال نقره از مصر بیرون آوردند، و می‌رسانیدند و یک اسب را به قیمت صد و پنجاه، و همچنین برای جمیع پادشاهان حتیان و پادشاهان ارام به توسطآنها بیرون می‌آوردند.

And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred [shekels] of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so they brought [them] by their means, for all the kings of the Hittites and for the kings of Syria.
