ਮੱਤੀ 8
And upon his coming down from the mountain, many multitudes followed him.
2 ੨ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਇੱਕ ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੱਥਾ ਟੇਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚਾਹੋਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ ਹੋ।
And behold, a leper who came, worshiped him, saying, Lord, if thou will, thou can cleanse me.
3 ੩ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹ ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
And having reached out his hand, Jesus touched him, saying, I will, be thou cleansed. And straightaway his leprosy was cleansed.
4 ੪ ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਖ਼ਬਰਦਾਰ! ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸੀਂ ਪਰ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਜਕ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਖਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਭੇਟ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਠਹਿਰਾਈ, ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
And Jesus says to him, See thou speak to no man, but go, show thyself to the priest, and bring the gift that Moses commanded for a testimony to them.
And upon his entering into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, beseeching him,
and saying, Lord, my boy has been laid down in the house, paralyzed, extremely tormented.
And Jesus says to him, after coming I will heal him.
8 ੮ ਪਰ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਯੋਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਛੱਤ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਆਓ, ਪਰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਬਚਨ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਦੇਵੋ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
And having answered, the centurion said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou should come under my roof, but only speak the word, and my boy will be healed.
9 ੯ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਪਾਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਾ! ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਆ! ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਹ ਕਰ! ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under myself. And I say to this man, Go, and he goes, and to another, Come, and he comes, and to my bondman, Do this, and he does it.
10 ੧੦ ਯਿਸੂ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ, “ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ!
And when Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, Truly I say to you, not even in Israel have I found such great faith.
11 ੧੧ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਛਮ ਤੋਂ ਆਉਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ, ਇਸਹਾਕ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਣਗੇ।
And I say to you, that many will come from east and west, and will sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of the heavens,
but the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into the outer darkness. There will be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
13 ੧੩ ਫਿਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਸੂਬੇਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਜਾ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੌਕਰ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।”
And Jesus said to the centurion, Go thou. And as thou have believed, be it done to thee. And his boy was healed in that hour.
And when Jesus came into Peter's house, he saw his mother-in-law, having been laid down, and feverish.
And he touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she was raised up, and served him.
16 ੧੬ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਹੋਈ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਏ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੂਤ ਚਿੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ; ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬਚਨ ਨਾਲ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
And having become evening, they brought to him many being demon possessed. And he cast out the spirits by word, and healed all those faring badly,
17 ੧੭ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਦਾ ਉਹ ਬਚਨ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਮਾਂਦਗੀਆਂ ਲੈ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਰੋਗ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਏ।
so that what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which says, He himself took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.
Now when Jesus saw many multitudes around him, he commanded to depart to the other side.
19 ੧੯ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਨੇ ਕੋਲ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਗੁਰੂ ਜੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਓਗੇ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲਾਂਗਾ।
And a certain scholar having come, he said to him, Teacher, I will follow thee wherever thou may go.
20 ੨੦ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੂੰਬੜੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਘੁਰਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਲ੍ਹਣੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਥਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।
And Jesus says to him, The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky, nests, but the Son of man has nowhere he may lay his head.
21 ੨੧ ਅਤੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿਓ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਬਾਂ।
And another of his disciples said to him, Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.
But Jesus said to him, Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.
And upon his entering into the boat, his disciples followed him.
And behold, a great tempest developed in the sea, so as for the boat to be covered by the waves, but he was sleeping.
And the disciples having approached, they awoke him, saying, Save us, Lord, we are perishing.
26 ੨੬ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਵਾਲਿਓ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਹੋ? ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਝੀਲ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
And he says to them, Why are ye cowardly, O ye of little faith? Then after rising, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there became a great calm.
But the men marveled, saying, What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him?
28 ੨੮ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਪਾਰ ਗਦਰੀਨੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭੂਤ ਚਿੰਬੜੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਕਬਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਖ਼ਤਰਨਾਕ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਰਸਤੇ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਲੰਘ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਸੀ।
And upon his coming to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two men being demon possessed met him, coming out of the sepulchers, exceedingly fierce, so that no man could pass by that way.
29 ੨੯ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕੰਮ? ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇਣ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ?
And behold, they cried out, saying, What is with us and thee, Jesus, Son of God? Did thou come here before the time to torment us?
Now there was afar off from them a herd of many swine feeding.
31 ੩੧ ਅਤੇ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਿੰਨਤਾਂ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਇੱਜੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜ ਦੇ।
And the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, allow us to go away into the herd of swine.
32 ੩੨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜਾਓ! ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਸੂਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਵੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਕਿ ਸਾਰਾ ਇੱਜੜ ਭੱਜ ਕੇ ਝੀਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡੁੱਬ ਕੇ ਮਰ ਗਿਆ।
And he said to them, Go. And having come out, they went into the herd of swine. And behold, the whole herd of the swine stampeded down the slope into the sea, and perished in the waters.
And those who tended them fled, and having gone into the city, they told everything, also the things of the men being demon possessed.
34 ੩੪ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ ਸਾਰਾ ਨਗਰ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਮਿਲਣ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਿੰਨਤਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੀ ਹੱਦੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾਓ।
And behold, the whole city came out to a meeting with Jesus. And having seen him, they besought him that he would depart from their regions.
