1 ੧ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਆਤਮਾਵਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਮਾਂਦਗੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ।
And having called in his twelve disciples, he gave them authority over unclean spirits, so as to cast them out, and to heal every sickness and every disease.
2 ੨ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਇਹ ਨਾਮ ਹਨ, ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਅੰਦ੍ਰਿਯਾਸ, ਜ਼ਬਦੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਭਰਾ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ,
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these: First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother,
Philip, and Bartholomew, Thomas, and Matthew the tax collector, James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus who was surnamed Thaddaeus,
Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
5 ੫ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ: “ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਦੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਵੜਨਾ”।
These twelve Jesus sent forth, having ordered them, saying, Go not into a way of the Gentiles, and enter not into a city of the Samaritans,
but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
And while going, preach, saying, The kingdom of the heavens has come near.
8 ੮ ਰੋਗੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰੋ, ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਉਂਦੇ ਕਰੋ, ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕਰੋ, ਭੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢੋ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੁਫ਼ਤ ਹੀ ਦਿਓ।
Heal those who are feeble, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely ye received, freely give.
Acquire no gold, nor silver, nor copper in your belts,
10 ੧੦ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਝੋਲਾ ਨਾ ਦੋ ਕੁੜਤੇ ਨਾ ਜੁੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਲਾਠੀ ਲਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਦਾ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਹੈ।
no bag for the road, nor two coats, nor shoes, nor staffs, for the workman is worthy of his provision.
11 ੧੧ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਗਰ ਜਾਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜੋ ਪੁੱਛੋ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਕੌਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ, ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਨਾ ਤੁਰੋ, ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਰਹੋ ।
And into whatever city or village ye may enter, inquire who in it is worthy, and there abide until ye go forth.
And while entering into the house, salute it.
13 ੧੩ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਘਰ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ, ਪਰ ਜੇ ਯੋਗ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਆਵੇ।
And if indeed the house is worthy, let your peace come upon it, but if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you.
14 ੧੪ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਨਾ ਕਰੇ ਨਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਜਾਂ ਨਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਧੂੜ ਝਾੜ ਸੁੱਟੋ।
And whoever will not receive you, nor hear your words, while departing that house or that city, shake off the dust of your feet.
15 ੧੫ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਸਦੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੂਰਾਹ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਦਾ ਹਾਲ ਝੱਲਣ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment, than for that city.
16 ੧੬ ਵੇਖੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਘਿਆੜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭੇਜਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੁਸ਼ਿਆਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਬੂਤਰਾਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਭੋਲੇ ਹੋਵੋ।
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves. Become ye therefore wise as serpents, and innocent as doves.
17 ੧੭ ਪਰ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੌਕਸ ਰਹੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਅਦਾਲਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਰੜੇ ਮਾਰਨਗੇ।
But beware of men, for they will deliver you up to councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues,
18 ੧੮ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਓਗੇ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਲਈ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
and ye will be brought to governors and even kings because of me, for a witness to them and to the Gentiles.
19 ੧੯ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਫੜਵਾਉਣ ਤਾਂ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਜਾਂ ਕੀ ਬੋਲੀਏ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਗੱਲ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੋਲਣੀ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
But when they deliver you up, be not anxious how or what ye should speak, for it will be given you in that hour what ye will speak.
For ye are not who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking in you.
21 ੨੧ ਅਤੇ ਭਰਾ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੌਤ ਲਈ ਫੜਵਾਏਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਰਵਾ ਸੁੱਟਣਗੇ।
And a brother will deliver up a brother to death, and a father a child. And children will rise up against parents, and condemn them to death.
And ye will be hated by all men because of my name, but he who endures to the end, this man will be saved.
23 ੨੩ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਤਾਉਣ ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੱਜ ਜਾਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਫਿਰ ਲਵੋ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
But when they persecute you in this city, flee into the other, for truly I say to you, ye will, no, not have completed the cities of Israel, until the Son of man comes.
A pupil is not above his teacher, nor a bondman above his lord.
25 ੨੫ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਚੇਲਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਜਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਨੂੰ (ਮੂਲ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਲਜਬੂਲ) ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਧੇਰੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣਗੇ।
It is enough for the pupil that he becomes like his teacher, and the bondman like his lord. If they have called the house-ruler Beelzebub, how much more those of his household.
26 ੨੬ ਸੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਲੁਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਗੁਪਤ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
Fear them not therefore, for there is nothing covered, that will not be revealed, and hid, that will not be known.
27 ੨੭ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਹਨ੍ਹੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖੋ, ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਹੋ ਕੋਠਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕਰੋ।
What I tell you in the darkness, speak ye in the light, and what ye hear in the ear, proclaim upon the housetops.
28 ੨੮ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਾਰ ਸਕਦੇ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰੋ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਰੀਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਰਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। (Geenna g1067)
And be not afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. But rather fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. (Geenna g1067)
29 ੨੯ ਕੀ, ਇੱਕ ਪੈਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਚਿੜੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਿਕਦੀਆਂ? ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੀ ਮਰਜ਼ੀ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਡਿੱਗਦੀ।
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall on the ground independent of your Father.
But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.
Fear not therefore, ye are of worth more than many sparrows.
32 ੩੨ ਇਸ ਲਈ, ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
Therefore every man, whoever will profess in me before men, I also will profess in him before my Father in the heavens.
33 ੩੩ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
But whoever would deny me before men, I also will deny him before my Father in the heavens.
Think not that I came to spread peace on the earth. I came not to spread peace, but a sword.
35 ੩੫ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੋਂ, ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਨੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਸੱਸ ਤੋਂ ਅਲੱਗ ਕਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹਾਂ।
For I came to divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
And a man's foes, are those of his own household.
He who loves father or mother above me is not worthy of me, and he who loves son or daughter above me is not worthy of me.
And he who does not take his cross and follow behind me, is not worthy of me.
39 ੩੯ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਲੱਭ ਲਈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਆਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਗੁਆਈ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life because of me will find it.
40 ੪੦ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰੇ ਉਹ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਭੇਜਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.
41 ੪੧ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਬੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰੇ, ਉਹ ਨਬੀ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਬੂਲ ਕਰੇ ਉਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਦਾ ਫਲ ਪਾਵੇਗਾ।
He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet's reward, and he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man will receive a righteous man's reward.
42 ੪੨ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਛੋਟਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਚੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਗਿਲਾਸ ਠੰਡਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਿਆਵੇ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਫਲ ਕਦੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਗੁਆਵੇਗਾ।
And whoever may give to drink one of these little ones merely a cold cup in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you he will, no, not lose his reward.
