ਲੂਕਾ 19
And as Jeshu entered and passed through Jirichu,
there was a certain man whose name was Zakai; he was rich and chief of the publicans:
3 ੩ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਭੀੜ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਵੇਖ ਨਾ ਸਕਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਕੱਦ ਮਧਰਾ ਸੀ।
and he wished to see Jeshu, who he was, and could not for the crowd, because in his stature Zakai was small.
4 ੪ ਸੋ ਉਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੌੜ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਗੁੱਲਰ ਦੇ ਰੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਸਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਸੇ ਰਸਤੇ ਲੰਘਣਾ ਸੀ।
And he ran before Jeshu, and ascended a wild fig-tree to see him, because so he was about to pass.
5 ੫ ਜਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਉਸ ਜਗਾ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਪਰ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਜ਼ੱਕੀ ਛੇਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਤਰ ਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਘਰ ਠਹਿਰਣਾ ਹੈ।
And when Jeshu came to that place, he saw him, and said to him, Be in haste, descend, Zakai; for to-day I must be at thy house.
And he was in haste, and descended, and received him rejoicing.
But when they all saw (this), they murmured, and said that with a man a sinner he hath gone in to abide.
8 ੮ ਤਦ ਜ਼ੱਕੀ ਨੇ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਅੱਧੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੰਡ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਧੋਖੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਚਾਰ ਗੁਣਾ ਮੋੜ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
But Zakai stood, and said to Jeshu, Behold, my Lord, the dividing of my wealth give I to the poor; and to every man, whatever I have wrongfully taken, fourfold I restore.
Jeshu saith to him, To-day is there salvation to this house, because this (man) also (is a) son of Abraham.
For the Son of man came to save that which was lost.
11 ੧੧ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਦੇ ਸਨ ਤਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਇੱਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟਾਂਤ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸਮਝੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਹੁਣੇ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ।
And when they had heard these things, he added to speak a parable; because he had drawn nigh to Urishlem, and they expected that in that hour would be revealed the kingdom of Aloha.
And he said, A certain man of a noble house went into a distant country, to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
13 ੧੩ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਸ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਸ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਨਾ ਆਵਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਰੁਪਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਵਪਾਰ ਕਰੋ।
And he called his ten servants, and gave to them ten minin, and said to them, Trade till I come.
14 ੧੪ ਪਰ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸੁਨੇਹਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰੇ।
But his citizens hated him, and sent messengers after him, saying, We are not willing that this should reign over us.
15 ੧੫ ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਮੁੜ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਸਨ ਬੁਲਾਵਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਪਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਪਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
And having received the kingdom and returned, he spake to call to him those servants to whom he had given the silver, that he might know how every one of them had traded.
And the first came and said, My lord, thy mani ten minin hath gained.
17 ੧੭ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਸ਼ਾਬਾਸ਼! ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਥੋੜ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਮਾਨਦਾਰ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਦਸਾਂ ਨਗਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਰੱਖ।
He saith to him, Well, good servant: because in a little thou art found faithful, thou shalt have rule over ten towns.
And the second came and said, My lord, thy mani five minin hath made.
He saith also to this, Thou also shalt have rule over five towns.
20 ੨੦ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਸੁਆਮੀ ਜੀ ਵੇਖੋ, ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਂ ਰੁਮਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
And the other came and said, My lord, behold thy mani which I have had with me, laid up in a napkin.
21 ੨੧ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਡਰਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵਾਲੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਹੋ। ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਚੁੱਕਦੇ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਵੱਢਦੇ ਹੋ।
For I feared thee, because thou art a hard man, taking up what thou hadst not laid down, and reaping what thou sowedst not.
22 ੨੨ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਨੌਕਰ! ਤੇਰੇ ਹੀ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਸੁਭਾਅ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੱਕਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੀਜਿਆ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਢਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
He said to him, From thy own mouth I will judge thee, evil servant: thou didst know that I was a hard man, taking up what I had not laid down, and reaping what I sowed not:
23 ੨੩ ਫੇਰ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਰੁਪਏ ਸ਼ਾਹੂਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਾ ਰੱਖੇ, ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਜ ਸਮੇਤ ਵਸੂਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ?
why (then) gavest thou not my silver upon the table, that when I came I might require it with its increase?
24 ੨੪ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੌਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕੋਲ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਸਨ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀ ਉਸ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਦਾਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਲੈ ਲਓ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਦਸ ਅਸ਼ਰਫ਼ੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਉ।
And to those who stood before him he said, Take from him the mani, and give to him who hath the ten minin.
They say to him, Our lord, he hath ten minin.
26 ੨੬ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਜਿਸ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਜੋ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
He saith to them, I tell you, that to every one who hath (it) shall be given; and from him who hath not, that also which he hath shall be taken.
27 ੨੭ ਮੇਰੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਰਾਜ ਕਰਾਂ ਇੱਥੇ ਲਿਆਓ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟੋ!
But those adversaries who would not that I should reign over them, bring them, and slay them before me.
AND when Jeshu had said these things, he went forward to go to Urishlem.
29 ੨੯ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਪਹਾੜ ਕੋਲ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਬੈਤਫ਼ਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਤਅਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੋ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਭੇਜਿਆ
And when he came to Bethphage and Beth-ania, at the mount that is called the Place of Olives, he sent two from his disciples,
30 ੩੦ ਕਿ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇੱਕ ਗਧੀ ਦਾ ਬੱਚਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵੇਖੋਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਦੇ ਕੋਈ ਸਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਲਿਆਓ।
and said to them, Go to the village over against us; and as you enter, behold, you will find a colt tied, whereon no man hath ridden: loose and bring him.
31 ੩੧ ਅਤੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੋ? ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਆਖਣਾ ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ।
And if any man demand why you loose him, thus say: It is requested by our Lord.
32 ੩੨ ਸੋ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਜਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ।
And they who were sent went and found as he had told them.
33 ੩੩ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਸ ਗਧੀ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬੱਚੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹਦੇ ਹੋ?
And as they were loosing the colt, the owners of him said to them, Why loose you the colt?
And they said to them, Because by our Lord it is requested.
And they brought him to Jeshu; and they cast upon the colt their garments, and Jeshu rode upon him.
And as they went, they spread their clothes in the way.
37 ੩੭ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਜ਼ੈਤੂਨ ਦੀ ਉਤਰਾਈ ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਟੋਲੀ ਅਨੰਦ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭ ਚਮਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖੇ ਸਨ, ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੀ
And when he had come nigh to the declivity of the Mount of Olives, the whole assembly of the disciples began to rejoice, and praise Aloha with a high voice, for all the mighty acts which they had seen:
38 ੩੮ ਕਿ ਮੁਬਾਰਕ ਉਹ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ! ਸਵਰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੋਵੇ!
and they said, Blessed be the King who cometh in the name of the Lord! Peace in the heavens, and glory in the highest!
But some of the Pharishee from among the multitudes say to him, Rabi, rebuke thy disciples.
He saith to them, I tell you, if these should be silent, the stones would cry out.
AND when he approached, and saw the city, he wept over her, saying,
42 ੪੨ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਅੱਜ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ, ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਲੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ।
If thou hadst known these things which are for thy peace, and in this thy day! But now they are hidden from thine eyes.
43 ੪੩ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਉਣਗੇ ਜਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲੈਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰੋਂ ਪਾਸੋਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਬਣਗੇ,
But the days will come to thee when thine enemies shall encompass thee and straiten thee on every side,
44 ੪੪ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਟਕਾ ਦੇਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਥਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨਾ ਛੱਡਣਗੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਭਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ।
and they shall overthrow thee, and thy children within thee, and not leave in thee one stone upon another, because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
And as he went into the temple, he began to cast out those who bought in it and sold,
46 ੪੬ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਸਦਾਵੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਕੂਆਂ ਦਾ ਅੱਡਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
and said to them, It is written that my house is the house of prayer; but you have made it a den of thieves.
47 ੪੭ ਉਹ ਹੈਕਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਪਰ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ਕ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ।
And he taught every day in the temple; but the chief priests and the scribes and the elders of the people sought to destroy him,
but could not find what they might do to him; for all the people hung upon him to hear him.
