ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਿਰਲਾਪ 1
1 ੧ ਹਾਏ! ਉਹ ਨਗਰੀ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਇਕੱਲੀ ਬੈਠੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ! ਉਹ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਹਾਨ ਸੀ! ਉਹ ਜੋ ਸੂਬਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਕੁਮਾਰੀ ਸੀ, ਹੁਣ ਲਗਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ!
And it came to pass, after Israel was taken captive, and Jerusalem made desolate, [that] Jeremias sat weeping, and lamented [with] this lamentation over Jerusalem, and said, ALEPH. How does the city that was filled with people sit solitary! she is become as a widow: she that was magnified among the nations, [and] princess among the provinces, has become tributary.
2 ੨ ਉਹ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਫੁੱਟ-ਫੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਰੋਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹੰਝੂ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਛਲਕਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਬਣ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
BETH. She weeps sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; and there is none of all her lovers to comfort her: all that were her friends have dealt deceitfully with her, they are become her enemies.
3 ੩ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ, ਅਤੇ ਕਠਿਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲੀ ਗਈ, ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਵੱਸਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੈਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਦਾ। ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਫੜ੍ਹਿਆ।
GIMEL. Judea is gone into captivity by reason of her affliction, and by reason of the abundance of her servitude: she dwells among the nations, she has not found rest: all her pursuers have overtaken her between her oppressors.
4 ੪ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਸੋਗ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਪਰਬਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਹਾਉਕੇ ਭਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਆਰੀਆਂ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਆਪ ਵੀ ਕੁੜੱਤਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
DALETH. The ways of Sion mourn, because there are none that come to the feast: all her gates are ruined: her priests groan, her virgins are led captive, and she is in bitterness in herself.
5 ੫ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਬਣ ਗਏ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਏ।
HE. Her oppressors are become the head, and her enemies have prospered; for the Lord has afflicted her because of the multitude of her sins: her young children are gone into captivity before the face of the oppressor.
6 ੬ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸ਼ੋਭਾ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਰਹੀ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹਾਕਮ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹਿਰਨੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋ ਗਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਰਗਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭਦੀ, ਉਹ ਪਿੱਛਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣਿਓਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਭੱਜਦੇ ਹਨ।
VAU. And all her beauty has been taken away from the daughter of Sion: her princes were as rams finding no pasture, and are gone [away] in weakness before the face of the pursuer.
7 ੭ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਕਲੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸਮਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨਭਾਉਣੇ ਪਦਾਰਥਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਏ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਬਣਿਆ। ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਦਾ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਉਡਾਇਆ।
ZAIN. Jerusalem remembered the days of her affliction, and her rejection; [she thought on] all her desirable things which were from the days of old, when her people fell into the hands of the oppressor, and there was none to help her: when her enemies saw [it] they laughed at her habitation.
8 ੮ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਨੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਗਈ, ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਾਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨੰਗੇਜ਼ ਵੇਖਿਆ, ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਹਾਉਕੇ ਭਰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਫੇਰ ਲੈਂਦੀ ਹੈ।
HETH. Jerusalem has sinned a [great] sin; therefore has she come into tribulation, all that used to honour her have afflicted her, for they have seen her shame: yea, she herself groaned, and turned backward.
9 ੯ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧਤਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਤ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਨਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਭਿਆਨਕ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਗਿਰਾਈ ਗਈ, ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ! ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਵੈਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
TETH. Her uncleanness is before her feet; she remembered not her last end; she has lowered her boasting [tone], there is none to comfort her. Behold, O Lord, my affliction: for the enemy has magnified himself.
10 ੧੦ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਨਭਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੜੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਵੜਨ।
JOD. The oppressor has stretched out his hand on all her desirable things: for she has seen the Gentiles entering into her sanctuary, [concerning] whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.
11 ੧੧ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਹਾਉਕੇ ਭਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਰੋਟੀ ਭਾਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਮਨਭਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵੇਚ ਕੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਨ ਆਵੇ। ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਵੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੁੱਛ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹਾਂ!
CHAPH. All her people groan, seeking bread: they have given their desirable things for meat, to restore their soul: behold, Lord, and look; for she is become dishonoured.
12 ੧੨ ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਲਿਓ! ਕੀ ਇਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ? ਧਿਆਨ ਦਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਕੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਰਗਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਦੁੱਖ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਣ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭੜਕਦੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ?
LAMED. All ye that pass by the way, turn, and see if there is sorrow like to my sorrow, which has happened [to me]. The Lord who spoke by me has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
13 ੧੩ ਉਚਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਡੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗ ਘੱਲੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਭਸਮ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਲ਼ ਵਿਛਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਮੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਿਨ ਰੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹਾਂ।
MEM. He has sent fire from his lofty habitation, he has brought it into my bones: he has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back: he has made me desolate [and] mourning all the day.
14 ੧੪ ਜੂਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਰੱਸੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਟ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਲ ਘਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੈਂ ਖੜ੍ਹੀ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ।
NUN. He has watched over my sins, they are twined about my hands, they have come up on my neck: my strength has failed; for the Lord has laid pains on my hands, I shall not be able to stand.
15 ੧੫ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੂਰਮਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁੱਛ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਇੱਕ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਚਲ ਦੇਵੇ। ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੀ ਕੁਆਰੀ ਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣੋ ਹੌਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿੱਧਿਆ ਹੈ।
SAMECH. The Lord has cut off all my strong men from the midst of me: he has summoned against me a time for crushing my choice men: the Lord has trodden a wine-press for the virgin daughter of Juda: for these things I weep.
16 ੧੬ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਰੋਂਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਵਿਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਵੈਰੀ ਪਰਬਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ।
AIN. Mine eye has poured out water, because he that should comfort me, that should restore my soul, has been removed far from me: my sons have been destroyed, because the enemy has prevailed.
17 ੧੭ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਫੈਲਾਏ, ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਲਈ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਣ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ।
PHE. Sion has spread out her hand, [and] there is none to comfort her: the Lord has commanded [concerning] Jacob, his oppressors are round about him: Jerusalem has become among them as a removed woman.
18 ੧੮ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ, ਹੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕੋ, ਸੁਣੋ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਕੁਆਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੁਆਨ ਗ਼ੁਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਲੇ ਗਏ।
TSADE. The Lord is righteous; for I have provoked his mouth: hear, I pray you, all people, and behold my grief: my virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
19 ੧੯ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਦ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਭੋਜਨ ਲੱਭਦੇ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾਜ਼ਗੀ ਆਵੇ, ਤਦ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤੇ।
KOPH. I called my lovers, but they deceived me: my priests and my elders failed in the city; for they sought meat that they might restore their souls, and found [it] not.
20 ੨੦ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਵੇਖ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਦੁੱਖੀ ਹਾਂ! ਮੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਬੇਚੈਨ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਘਬਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਬਗਾਵਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ! ਬਾਹਰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੰਸ਼ਹੀਨ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਾਣੋ, ਮੌਤ ਦਾ ਵਾਸ ਹੈ!
RHECHS. Behold, O Lord; for I am afflicted: my belly is troubled, and my heart is turned within me; for I have been grievously rebellious: abroad the sword has bereaved me, even as death at home.
21 ੨੧ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਹਾਉਕੇ ਭਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਲੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਖੁਸ਼ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਇਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ। ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
CHSEN. Hear, I pray you, for I groan: there is none to comfort me: all mine enemies have heard [of] mine afflictions, and rejoice because thou hast done [it]: thou hast brought on the day, thou hast called the time: they are become like to me.
22 ੨੨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਵੇ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਹਾਉਕੇ ਭਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਿਲ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
THAU. Let all their wickedness come before thy face; and strip them, as they have made a gleaning for all my sins: for my groans are many, and my heart is grieved.
