ਯਿਰਮਿਯਾਹ 15
1 ੧ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੂਏਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਖੜੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਮੇਰਾ ਜੀ ਇਸ ਪਰਜਾ ਵੱਲ ਨਾ ਝੁਕਦਾ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦੇ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣ!
Then said the LORD to me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my mind could not be toward this people: cast them out of my sight, and let them go forth.
2 ੨ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ, ਅਸੀਂ ਕਿੱਧਰ ਜਾਈਏ? ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੌਤ ਲਈ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮੌਤ ਵੱਲ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਲਈ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਵੱਲ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕਾਲ ਲਈ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਕਾਲ ਵੱਲ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਕੈਦ ਲਈ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਕੈਦ ਵੱਲ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਣ।
And it shall come to pass, if they say to thee, Where shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith the LORD; Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for the captivity, to the captivity.
3 ੩ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਾਰ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, - ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢਣ ਲਈ, ਕੁੱਤਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾੜਨ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਦਰਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ
And I will appoint over them four kinds, saith the LORD: the sword to slay, and the dogs to tear, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and destroy.
4 ੪ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਹਿਜ਼ਕੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਭੈਅ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
And I will cause them to be removed into all kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.
5 ੫ ਹੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ, ਕੌਣ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਖਾਵੇਗਾ? ਜਾਂ ਕੌਣ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਰਦੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ? ਜਾਂ ਕੌਣ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਪੁੱਛਣ ਲਈ ਮੁੜੇਗਾ?
For who shall have pity upon thee, O Jerusalem? or who shall bemoan thee? or who shall go aside to ask concerning thy welfare?
6 ੬ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਨੂੰ ਫਿਰ ਗਈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਚੁੱਕਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਪਛਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਮੈਂ ਥੱਕ ਗਿਆ!
Thou hast forsaken me, saith the LORD, thou art gone backward: therefore will I stretch out my hand against thee, and destroy thee; I am weary with repenting.
7 ੭ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਜਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਛੱਟਿਆ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਔਂਤ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੁੜੇ।
And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave them of children, I will destroy my people, since they return not from their ways.
8 ੮ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਧਵਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀ ਰੇਤ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਗਈਆਂ। ਮੈਂ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਜੁਆਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਮਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਇੱਕ ਲੁਟੇਰਾ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਅਤੇ ਡਰ ਅੱਚਨਚੇਤ ਪਾਇਆ।
Their widows are multiplied to me above the sand of the seas: I have brought upon them against the mother of the young men a spoiler at noonday: I have caused him to fall upon it suddenly, and terrors upon the city.
9 ੯ ਉਹ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸੱਤ ਜਣੇ ਸਨ ਮਾੜੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜਦ ਅਜੇ ਦਿਨ ਹੀ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਸੂਰਜ ਲਹਿ ਗਿਆ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੇਪਤ ਹੋਈ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ-ਖੂਹੰਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੇ ਹਵਾਲੇ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
She that hath borne seven languisheth: she hath breathed her last; her sun is gone down while it was yet day: she hath been ashamed and confounded: and the remnant of them will I deliver to the sword before their enemies, saith the LORD.
10 ੧੦ ਹਾਏ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ! ਹੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜਣਿਆ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਲੜਾਕਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਫਸਾਦੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਾਂ। ਨਾ ਮੈਂ ਉਧਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਨਾ ਉਧਾਰ ਲਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਸਾਰੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਫਿਟਕਾਰਦੇ ਹਨ!
Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have neither lent on interest, nor have men lent to me on interest; yet every one of them doth curse me.
11 ੧੧ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਲਈ ਛੁਡਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਰਲੇ ਕਰਾਵਾਂਗਾ
The LORD said, Verily it shall be well with thy remnant; verily I will cause the enemy to entreat thee well in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.
Shall iron break the northern iron and the steel?
13 ੧੩ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਖ਼ਜ਼ਾਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੁੱਟ ਲਈ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਮੁੱਲ ਲਈ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ
Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.
14 ੧੪ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਇੱਕ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਦੇਸ ਵੱਲ ਲੰਘਾ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਜਿਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗ ਮੱਚ ਉੱਠੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੱਚੇਗੀ।
And I will make thee to pass with thy enemies into a land which thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in my anger, which shall burn upon you.
15 ੧੫ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਚੇਤੇ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਲੈ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸਤਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈ। ਆਪਣੀ ਧੀਰਜ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਚੁੱਕ ਲਈਂ, ਜਾਣ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਉਲਾਹਮਾ ਝੱਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
O LORD, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered rebuke.
16 ੧੬ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੱਭੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖਾ ਲਿਆ, ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਸਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਅਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ।
Thy words were found, and I ate them; and thy word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.
17 ੧੭ ਮੈਂ ਰੰਗ ਰਲੀਆਂ ਮਨਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਬੈਠਿਆ, ਨਾ ਮੈਂ ਚੋਹਲ ਕੀਤਾ। ਮੈਂ ਇਕੱਲਾ ਬੈਠ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੱਥ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੀ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗਜ਼ਬ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand: for thou hast filled me with indignation.
18 ੧੮ ਮੇਰੀ ਪੀੜ ਕਿਉਂ ਸਦਾ ਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਫੱਟ ਕਿਉਂ ਅਸਾਧ ਹੈ, ਭਈ ਉਹ ਰਾਜੀ ਹੋਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ? ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਝੂਠੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ? ਜਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਠਹਿਰਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ?।
Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou be altogether to me as a liar, and as waters that fail?
19 ੧੯ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, - ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੁੜੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਲਿਆਵਾਂਗਾ, ਭਈ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਖਲੋ ਸਕੇਂ। ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮਹਿੰਗ ਮੁੱਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਖਿੱਧ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਅੱਡ ਕਰੇਂ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ। ਉਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜਨਗੇ, ਪਰ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਨਾ ਮੁੜੇਗਾ।
Therefore thus saith the LORD, If thou shalt return, then will I bring thee again, and thou shalt stand before me: and if thou shalt separate the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: let them return to thee; but return not thou to them.
20 ੨੦ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਪਰਜਾ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਕੀ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੀ ਕੰਧ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨਗੇ, ਪਰ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਿੱਤ ਨਾ ਸਕਣਗੇ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਹਾਂ, ਭਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਵਾਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ।
And I will make thee to this people a fortified brasen wall: and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
And I will deliver thee from the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee from the hand of the terrible.
