1 ਤਿਮੋਥਿਉਸ 5
An elder not you may rebuke but do exhort [him] as a father, younger [men] as brothers,
elder [women] as mothers, [and] younger [women] as sisters in all purity.
Widows do honor who [are] truly widows.
4 ੪ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਦੇ ਬੱਚੇ ਅਥਵਾ ਪੋਤਰੇ ਦੋਹਤਰੇ ਹੋਣ, ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਧਰਮ ਕਮਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਪਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੱਕ ਅਦਾ ਕਰਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਇਹੋ ਪਰਵਾਨ ਹੈ।
If however any widow children or grandchildren has, they should learn first [her] own household to be devout and recompense to give to parents; this for is (good and *K*) pleasing before God.
5 ੫ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਕੱਲੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਸ ਰੱਖੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਤ-ਦਿਨ ਬੇਨਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
She who [is] now indeed a widow and abandoned she has hope in (*ko*) God and she continues in supplications and in prayers by night and day;
She however living in self-indulgence [while] living has died.
Also these things do command, so that above reproach they may be.
8 ੮ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਕੋਈ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਲਈ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਮੁੱਖ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸੀ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੀ ਬੁਰਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
If now anyone [their] own and especially (of the *k*) [their] household not (does provide for, *N(k)O*) the faith he has denied and he is than an unbeliever worse.
9 ੯ ਉਸੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਸੱਠਾਂ ਵਰਿਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਘੱਟ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕੋ ਹੀ ਪਤੀ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਰਹੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
A widow should ld be enrol not less than years [old] sixty having been of one man [the] wife,
10 ੧੦ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਭਲੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਨੇਕਨਾਮ ਹੋਵੇ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਹੁਣਚਾਰੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਸੰਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਧੋਤੇ ਹੋਣ, ਦੁੱਖੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਵੇ।
in works good being borne witness to, if she has brought up children, if she entertained strangers, if saints’ feet she has washed, if to those being oppressed she has imparted relief, if to every work good she has followed after.
11 ੧੧ ਪਰ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਂਭੇ ਰੱਖ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਸੀਹ ਤੋਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਪੈ ਕੇ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
Younger however widows do refuse; when for they may grow wanton against Christ, to marry they desire
incurring judgment because the first faith they have cast off;
13 ੧੩ ਨਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਘਰ-ਘਰ ਫਿਰ ਕੇ ਆਲਸਣਾਂ ਬਣਨਾ ਸਿੱਖਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰੀਆਂ ਆਲਸਣਾਂ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਬੁੜ-ਬੁੜ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਾਇਆਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਤ ਅੜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਹੁੰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਯੋਗ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
At the same time then also [to be] idle they learn going about house to house. not only then idle, but also gossips and busybodies, speaking [things] not being proper.
14 ੧੪ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੁਟਿਆਰ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਵਿਆਹ ਕਰ ਲੈਣ, ਧੀਆਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਣਨ, ਘਰੇਲੂ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਿੰਦਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਨਾ ਦੇਣ।
I want therefore [the] younger [ones] to marry, to bear children, to manage their households, no occasion to give to the [one] opposing of reproach because;
Already for some have turned aside after Satan.
16 ੧੬ ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸੀ ਇਸਤ੍ਰੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਧਵਾਂ ਹੋਣ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਾਰ ਨਾ ਪਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਵਿਧਵਾਂ ਹਨ।
If any (faithful or *K*) believing [woman] has [dependent] widows, (she should help *NK(o)*) to them and not should be burdened the church, so that to those [who are] truly widows it may impart relief.
17 ੧੭ ਉਹ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਦੁਗਣੇ ਆਦਰ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਸਮਝੇ ਜਾਣ, ਪਰ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਹ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਿਹਨਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
The well already ruling elders of double honor should be counted worthy especially those straining in [the] word and [the] teaching;
18 ੧੮ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਗ੍ਰੰਥ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਗਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਬਲ਼ਦ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਛਿੱਕਲੀ ਨਾ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਂ, ਨਾਲੇ ਇਹ ਭਈ ਕਾਮਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਜ਼ਦੂਰੀ ਦਾ ਹੱਕਦਾਰ ਹੈ।
Says for the Scripture; An ox treading out grain not you will muzzle; and Worthy [is] the workman of the wages of him.
Against an elder an accusation not do receive unless only except upon two or three witnesses.
(now *o*) sinning before all do rebuke, so that also the rest fear may have.
21 ੨੧ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਮਸੀਹ ਯਿਸੂ ਅਤੇ ਚੁਣਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਦੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਵਾਹ ਮੰਨ ਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੱਖਪਾਤ ਨਾ ਕਰ।
I earnestly testify before God and (Lord *K*) Christ Jesus and the elect angels that these things you may keep apart from prejudice nothing doing out of partiality.
Hands soon on no one do lay nor do share in [the] sins of others, yourself pure do keep.
23 ੨੩ ਅਗਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਰਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾ ਪੀਆ ਕਰ ਪਰ ਹਾਜ਼ਮੇ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਮਾਂਦਗੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਥੋੜੀ ਜਿਹੀ ਮੈਅ ਵਰਤ ਲਿਆ ਕਰ।
No longer do drink [only] water, but wine a little do use because of the stomach (of you *K*) and the frequent of you ailments.
24 ੨੪ ਕਈ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਪ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਕਈਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Of some men the sins manifest are going before [them] to judgment; of some however also they appear later.
Likewise also the works good evident (is *k*) and even those otherwise being to be concealed not (are able. *N(k)O*)
