1 Faarfannaa Daawit yeroo ilma isaa Abesaaloom jalaa baqatetti faarfate. Yaa Waaqayyo, diinonni koo akkam baayʼatu! Namoonni baayʼeen natti kaʼaniiru!
[A Psalm by David, when he fled from Absalom his son.] Jehovah, how my adversaries have increased. Many rise up against me.
2 Namoonni baayʼeen, “Waaqni isa hin baraaru” jedhanii waaʼee koo dubbatu.
Many there are who say of my soul, "There is no salvation for him in God." (Selah)
3 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati garuu naannoo kootti gaachana koo ti; ulfina kootis; mataa koos kan ol qabdu suma.
But you, Jehovah, are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head.
4 Ani guddisee Waaqayyotti nan iyyadha; innis tulluu isaa qulqulluu irraa deebii naa kenna.
I cried out to Jehovah with my voice, and he answered me from his holy mountain. (Selah)
5 Ani nan ciisa; nan rafas; waan Waaqayyo ol na qabuuf nan dammaqa.
I lay down and slept. I awoke, for Jehovah sustains me.
6 Saba kumaatama qixa hundaan kaʼee na marse ani hin sodaadhu.
I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me on every side.
7 Yaa Waaqayyo kaʼi! Yaa Waaqa koo na baraari! Mangaagaa diinota kootii hundumaa rukuti; ilkaan hamootaa illee caccabsi.
Arise, Jehovah. Save me, my God. For you slap all my enemies in the face. You break the teeth of the wicked.
8 Fayyinni kan Waaqayyoo ti. Eebbi kee saba kee irra haa jiraatu.
Salvation belongs to Jehovah. Your blessing is upon your people. (Selah)
