< Luqaas 11 >

1 Gaaf tokko Yesuus iddoo tokkotti kadhachaa ture; yommuu inni fixatettis, barattoota isaa keessaa namni tokko, “Yaa Barsiisaa, akkuma Yohannis barattoota isaa barsiise sana, atis kadhachuu nu barsiisi” jedheen.
When he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as Yochanan also taught his disciples.”
2 Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Isin yommuu kadhattan akkana jedhaa: “‘Yaa Abbaa, maqaan kee haa qulqullaaʼu; mootummaan kee haa dhufu.
He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
3 Buddeena keenya kan guyyuma guyyaa, guyyuma guyyaan nuu kenni.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
4 Akkuma nus warra cubbuu nutti hojjetaniif dhiifnu sana atis cubbuu keenya nuu dhiisi; qoramatti nu hin galchin.’”
Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
5 Innis akkana isaaniin jedhe; “Mee isin keessaa namni tokko michuu qaba haa jennuu; innis halkan walakkaa michuu isaa sana bira dhaqee, ‘Yaa michuu ko, mee buddeena sadii naa liqeessi;
He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
6 michuun koo kan karaa deemu tokko natti goreeraatii; anis waanan dhiʼeessuuf tokko illee hin qabu’ haa jedhu.
for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
7 Namichi mana keessaa sunis, ‘Na hin rakkisin; balballi cufameera; ijoolleen koos na wajjin siree irra jiru; ani kaʼee waan tokko illee siif kennuu hin dandaʼu’ jedhaanii?
and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
8 Ani isinittin hima; sababii inni michuu isaa taʼeef jedhee kaʼee buddeena sana isaaf kennuu baatu illee, sababii ija jabina namicha sanaatiif jedhee kaʼee waan isa barbaachisu hunda ni kennaaf.
I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
9 “Kanaafuu ani isinittin hima: Kadhadhaa, isiniif ni kennamaa; barbaadaa, ni argattuu; rurrukutaa, balballi isiniif ni banamaa.
“I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
10 Namni kadhatu hundi ni argataatii; namni barbaadu ni argata; nama rurrukutuufis balballi ni banama.
For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
11 “Yaa abbootii, isin keessaa namni yoo ilmi isaa qurxummii isa kadhate, qooda qurxummii bofa kennuuf eenyu?
“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
12 Yookaan namni yoo ilmi isaa hanqaaquu isa kadhate torbaanqabaa kennuuf eenyu?
Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?
13 Erga isin warri hamoon iyyuu kennaa gaarii ijoollee keessaniif kennuu beektanii, Abbaan keessan inni samii irraa immoo hammam caalchisee warra isa kadhataniif Hafuura Qulqulluu haa kennuu ree!”
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
14 Yesuusis hafuura hamaa arrab-didaa taʼe tokko baasaa ture. Yommuu hafuurri hamaan sun baʼetti arrab-didaan sun ni dubbate; namoonnis ni dinqifatan.
He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. When the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marvelled.
15 Isaan keessaa namoonni tokko tokko garuu, “Inni Biʼeelzebuuliin, hangafa hafuurota hamootiin hafuurota hamoo baasaa jira” jedhan.
But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
16 Warri kaan immoo mallattoo samii irraa isa gaafachuudhaan isa qoran.
Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.
17 Yesuusis yaada isaanii beekee akkana jedheen; “Mootummaan gargar of qoodu kam iyyuu ni diigama; manni gargar of qoodus ni jiga.
But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls.
18 Seexanni yoo gargar of qoode, mootummaan isaa akkamitti dhaabachuu dandaʼa? Wanni ani akkana jedhuuf sababii isin akka waan ani Biʼeelzebuuliin hafuurota hamoo baasuu dubbattaniif.
If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
19 Egaa yoo ani Biʼeelzebuuliin hafuurota hamoo baasee, ilmaan keessan immoo maaliin baasu ree? Kanaafuu isaan abbootii murtii isinitti taʼu.
But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore they will be your judges.
20 Garuu ani quba Waaqaatiin hafuurota hamoo baasa taanaan, yoos mootummaan Waaqaa isinitti dhufeera.
But if I by God’s finger cast out demons, then God’s Kingdom has come to you.
21 “Yommuu namni jabaan guutummaatti miʼa lolaa hidhate tokko mana isaa eeggatutti, qabeenyi isaa nagaadhaan taaʼaaf.
“When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
22 Garuu namni jabinaan isa caalu tokko yoo lolee isa moʼate, miʼa lolaa kan namichi sun amanate sana isa irraa fudhatee boojuu isaas qoqqooda.
But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armour in which he trusted, and divides his plunder.
23 “Namni na wajjin hin jirre kam iyyuu naan morma; namni na wajjin walitti hin qabne kam iyyuus ni bittinneessa.
“He who is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.
24 “Hafuurri xuraaʼaan yommuu nama keessaa baʼutti, boqonnaa barbaacha lafa gogaakeessa joora; garuu hin argatu. Innis, ‘Mana koo isa ani keessaa baʼe sanatti nan deebiʼa’ jedha.
The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’
25 Yommuu achi gaʼuttis manicha haramee qulqulleeffamee argata.
When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
26 Ergasiis dhaqee hafuurota biraa torba kanneen isa caalaa hamoo taʼan fudhatee dhufa; isaanis itti galanii achi jiraatu. Haalli namicha sanaa kan dhumaa isa jalqabaa caalaa hammaata.”
Then he goes and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
27 Utuu Yesuus waan kana dubbachaa jiruu, dubartiin tokko namoota gidduudhaa sagalee ishee ol fudhattee, “Garaan si baate, harmi ati hootes eebbifamaa dha” jette.
It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you!”
28 Inni garuu deebisee, “Kana caalaa iyyuu, warri dubbii Waaqaa dhagaʼanii ajajamaniif eebbifamoo dha” jedhe.
But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
29 Akkuma baayʼinni namootaa dabalameen Yesuus akkana jedhe; “Dhaloonni kun dhaloota hamaa dha. Inni mallattoo barbaada; garuu mallattoo Yoonaas malee mallattoon tokko iyyuu isaaf hin kennamu.
When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet.
30 Akkuma Yoonaas mallattoo saba Nanawwee ture sana, Ilmi Namaas mallattoo dhaloota kanaa ni taʼaatii.
For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so the Son of Man will also be to this generation.
31 Mootittiin kibbaa guyyaa murtiitti namoota dhaloota kanaa wajjin kaatee isaanitti murti; isheen ogummaa Solomoon dhagaʼuuf jettee daarii lafaatii dhufteetii. Kunoo kan Solomoonin caalu as jira.
The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgement with the men of this generation and will condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, one greater than Solomon is here.
32 Namoonni Nanawwee guyyaa murtiitti dhaloota kana wajjin kaʼanii itti muru; isaan lallaba Yoonaasiin qalbii jijjiirrataniitii; kunoo kan Yoonaasin caalu as jira.
The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgement with this generation, and will condemn it, for they repented at the proclaiming of Jonah; and behold, one greater than Jonah is here.
33 “Namni kam iyyuu ibsaa qabsiisee iddoo hin mulʼanne yookaan gombisaa jala hin kaaʼu. Qooda kanaa akka warri ol seenan ifa isaa arganiif baattuu isaa irra kaaʼu.
“No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
34 Iji kee ibsaa dhagna keetii ti. Iji kee fayyaa taanaan, dhagni kee guutuun ifaan guutama. Yoo iji kee fayyaa hin taʼin garuu dhagni kees dukkanaan guutama.
The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
35 Kanaafuu akka ifni si keessaa dukkana hin taaneef of eeggadhu.
Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.
36 Egaa yoo dhagni kee hundinuu ifaan guutame, yoo kutaan tokko iyyuu dukkana hin qabaatin, akkuma waan ifni ibsaa tokkoo ifa isaatiin siif ibsuutti dhagni kee guutummaatti ifa ni qabaata.”
If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
37 Akkuma Yesuus haasaa isaa fixateen Fariisota keessaa namichi tokko akka Yesuus isa wajjin nyaata nyaatuuf mana isaatti isa waame; Yesuusis ol seenee maaddiitti dhiʼaate.
Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in and sat at the table.
38 Fariisichi garuu akka Yesuus nyaataan dura hin dhiqatin argee dinqisiifate.
When the Pharisee saw it, he marvelled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
39 Gooftaanis akkana isaan jedhe; “Isin Fariisonni duuba xoofootii fi caabii ni qulqulleessitu; keessi keessan garuu saamichaa fi hamminaan guutameera.
The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
40 Yaa namoota gowwoota! Inni duuba isaa uume sun keessa isaa immoo hin uumnee?
You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?
41 Isin garuu waan xoofoo fi caabii keessa jiru hiyyeeyyiif kennaa; yoos wanni hundinuu isinii qulqullaaʼaa.
But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
42 “Fariisota nana isiniif wayyoo! Isin insilaala, cilaaddaamaa fi biqiltuu gosa hundaa kudhan keessaa tokko Waaqaaf ni kennitu; murtii qajeelaa fi jaalala Waaqaa garuu ni tuffattu. Silaa utuu isa duraa hin dhiisin isa booddee hojii irra oolchuu qabdu ture.
But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and God’s love. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
43 “Yaa Fariisota, isiniif wayyoo! Isin manneen sagadaa keessatti taaʼumsa ulfinaa, gabaa keessattis nagaa gaafatamuu jaallattu.
Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.
44 “Isin sababii awwaala mallattoo hin qabne kan namoonni utuu hin beekin irra deeman fakkaattaniif isinii wayyoo!”
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”
45 Hayyoota seeraa keessaas tokko deebisee, “Yaa Barsiisaa, ati yommuu waan kana jettutti nuus arrabsaa jirta!” jedheen.
One of the Torah scholars answered him, “Rabbi, in saying this you insult us also.”
46 Yesuus immoo akkana jedhee deebise; “Hayyoota seeraa, isiniifis wayyoo! Isin baʼaa namni baachuu hin dandeenye isaanitti feetu; ofii keessanii garuu isaan gargaaruudhaaf qubaan illee hin tuqxan.
He said, “Woe to you Torah scholars also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
47 “Isiniif wayyoo! Isin raajotaaf awwaala ijaartuutii; kan isaan ajjeeses abbootuma keessan.
Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
48 Kanaafuu isin akka waanuma abbootiin keessan hojjetan sana deeggartan dhugaa baatu; isaan raajota ajjeesan; isin immoo awwaala raajotaa ijaartu.
So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
49 Sababii kanaaf Waaqni ogummaa isaatiin, ‘Ani raajotaa fi ergamoota isaanittin erga; namoonni sunis isaan keessaa tokko tokko ni ajjeesu; kaan immoo ni ariʼatu’ jedhe.
Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and emissaries; and some of them they will kill and persecute,
50 Kanaaf dhaloonni kun dhiiga raajota hundaa kan uumama addunyaatii jalqabee dhangalaʼetti ni gaafatama;
that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation,
51 dhiiga Abeel irraa jalqabee hamma dhiiga Zakkaariyaas isa iddoo aarsaatii fi mana qulqullummaa gidduutti ajjeefame sanaatti ni gaafatama. Eeyyee ani isinittin hima; dhaloonni kun waan kana hundumatti ni gaafatama.
from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.
52 “Yaa hayyoota seeraa, isiniif wayyoo! Isin furtuu beekumsaa fudhattaniirtu. Ofii keessanii hin seenne; warra seenaa turanis dhowwitaniirtu.”
Woe to you Torah scholars! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”
53 Yommuu Yesuus achii deemetti, Fariisonnii fi barsiistonni seeraa jabeessanii isaan mormuu, akka inni waan baayʼee dubbatuufis isa tuttuquu jalqaban.
As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him,
54 Waan afaan isaatii baʼuun isa qabuufis eeggachaa turan.
lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
