Lukas 3
1 I det femtande styringsåret åt keisar Tiberius, med Pontius Pilatus var landshovding i Judæa, og Herodes fylkeskonge i Galilæa, og Filip, bror hans, fylkeskonge i Ituræa- og Trakonitis-landet, og Lysanias fylkeskonge i Abilene,
In the fiftenthe yeare of the raygne of Tiberius the Emperoure Pontius Pylate beinge leftenaut of Iurie and Herode beinge Tetrach of Galile and his brother Philip Tetrach in Iturea and in the region of Traconites and Lysanias the Tetrach of Abyline
2 og med Annas og Kajafas var øvsteprestar, kom Guds ord til Johannes, son åt Zakarja, i øydemarki.
when Anna and Cayphas were the hye prestes: the worde of God came vnto Iohn ye sonne of zacharias in the wildernes.
3 Då for han kring i heile Jordan-kverven, og ropa ut umvendingsdåp til forlating for synderne,
And he came in to all the coostes aboute Iordan preachynge the baptyme of repentaunce for the remission of synnes
4 som skrive stend i spådomsboki åt Jesaja, profeten: «Høyr han som ropar i heidi: «Rydje vegen for Herren, jamne stigarne hans!
at it is written in the boke of the sayinges of Esaias ye Prophet which sayeth: The voyce of a cryar in wyldernes prepare the waye of the Lorde make hys pathes strayght.
5 Kvart djuv skal fyllast, kvart fjell skal lægjast, og kvar ein haug; beint skal det verta det som krokut var, staupute vegen han skal verta slett,
Every valley shalbe fylled and every moutayne and hyll shalbe brought lowe. And crocked thinges shalbe made streight: and the rough wayes shalbe made smoth:
6 og kvart eit liv Guds frelsa skoda skal.»»
and all flesshe shall se the saveour sent of God.
7 Som no folket kom ut og vilde få honom til å døypa seg, sagde han til deim: «Orme-ungar, kven lærde dykk å røma frå vreiden som skal koma?
Then sayde he to the people that were come to be baptysed of him: O generacion of vipers who hath taught you to flye from the wrath to come?
8 Ber då frukter som høver med umvendingi, og gjev dykk ikkje til å tenkja som so: «Me hev Abraham til far!» for eg segjer dykk at Gud kann vekkja upp born åt Abraham av desse steinarne.
Bringe forth due frutes of repentaunce and begynne not to saye in youre selves we have Abraham to oure father. For I saye vnto you: God is able of these stones to reyse vp chyldren vnto Abraham.
9 Øksi ligg alt innmed roti på treet; kvart tre som ikkje ber god frukt, vert hogge ned og kasta på elden.»
Now also ys the axe leyd vnto the rote of the trees: so yt every tree which bringeth not forth good frute shalbe hewe doune and caste in to ye fyre.
10 «Kva skal me då gjera?» spurde folket.
And the people axed him sayinge: What shall we do then?
11 Han svara deim: «Den som hev tvo trøyor, skal skifta med den som ingi hev, og den som hev mat, skal gjera sameleis.»
He answered and sayde vnto them: He that hath two coottes let him parte with him that hath none: and he that hath meate let him do lyke wyse.
12 Det kom og nokre tollmenner som vilde døypast, og sagde: «Meister, kva skal me gjera?»
Then came ther Publicans to be baptised and sayde vnto him: Master what shall we do?
13 «Krev ikkje meir enn de er fyresagde!» svara han.
And he sayde vnto the: requyre no more then that which ys appoynted vnto you.
14 Like eins var det nokre hermenner som spurde honom: «Kva skal då me gjera?» Då svara han: «De skal ikkje plåga folk eller truga pengar utav deim! De skal nøgja dykk med løni dykkar!»
The soudyoures lyke wyse demaunded of hym sayinge: and what shall we do? And he sayde to them: Do violence to noo ma: nether trouble eny man wrongfully: but be content with youre wages.
15 Men folket gjekk i venting, og alle tenkte um Johannes: «Tru han er Messias?»
As the people were in a doute and all men disputed in their hertes of Iohn whether he were very Christ:
16 Då tok han til ords og sagde til alle: «Eg døyper dykk med vatn; men det kjem ein som er sterkare enn eg - eg er ikkje verdig å løysa skobandet hans; han skal døypa dykk med den Heilage Ande og eld.
Ihon answered and sayde to them all: I baptyse you wt water but a stronger then I cometh after me whose shue latchet I am not worthy to vnlouse: he will baptise you with the holy goost and with fyre:
17 Han hev kasteskovli i handi, og skal gjera av låven sin, og samla kornet i stabburet sitt; men agnerne skal han brenna i ein eld som aldri sloknar.»
which hath his fanne in his hond and will pourge his floore and will gader the corne into his barne: but the chaffe wyll he bourne with fyre that never shalbe quenched.
18 Dette og mykje anna lagde han folket på hjarta, og kunngjorde evangeliet åt deim.
And many other thinges in his exhortacion preached he vnto the people.
19 Men då han tala til Herodes, fylkeskongen, for giftarmålet med Herodias, brorkona hans, og for alt det vonde han hadde gjort,
Then Herode the Tetrach (when he was rebuked of him for Herodias his brother Philippes wyfe and for all the evyls which Herod had done)
20 so gjorde Herodes det og attpå alt, at han sette Johannes i fengsel.
added this above all and leyd Iohn in preson.
21 Då no alt folket vart døypt, og Jesus og var døypt, då hende det, med han bad, at himmelen opna seg,
And yt fortuned as all the people receaved baptyme (and when Iesus was baptised and dyd praye) that heave was opened
22 og den Heilage Ande dala ned yver honom i duveham, og det kom ei røyst frå himmelen: «Du er son min, som eg elskar; deg hev eg hugnad i.»
and the holy goost came doune in a bodely shape lyke a dove vpo him and a voyce came fro heve sayinge: Thou arte my dere sonne in the do I delyte.
23 Jesus var um lag tretti år då han stod fram, og var, etter som dei meinte, son åt Josef, son åt Eli,
And Iesus him silfe was about thirty yere of age when he begane beinge as men supposed the sonne of Ioseph. which Ioseph was the sonne of Heli
24 son åt Mattat, son åt Levi, son åt Melki, son åt Jannai, son åt Josef,
which was the sonne of Mathat which was the sonne of Levi: which was the sonne of Melchi: which was the sonne of Ianna: which was the sonne of Ioseph:
25 son åt Mattatias, son åt Amos, son åt Nahum, son åt Esli, son åt Naggai,
which was the sonne of Matatthias: which was the sonne of Amos: which was the sonne of Nahum: which was the sonne of Esli: which was the sonne of Nagge:
26 son åt Ma’at, son åt Mattatias, son åt Sime’i, son åt Josek, son åt Joda,
which was the sonne of Maath: which was the sonne of Matathias: which was the sonne of Semei: which was the sonne of Ioseph: which was the sonne of Iuda:
27 son åt Johanan, son åt Resa, son åt Zerubbabel, son åt Salatiel, son åt Neri,
which was the sonne of Iohanna: which was the sonne of Rhesya: which was the sonne of zorobabel: which was the sonne of Salathiel: which was the sonne of Neri:
28 son åt Melki, son åt Addi, son åt Kosam, son åt Elmadam, son åt Er,
which was the sonne of Melchi: which was the sonne of Addi: which was the sonne of Cosam: which was the sonne of Helmadam: which was the sonne of Her:
29 son åt Josva, son åt Eliezer, son åt Jorim, son åt Mattat, son åt Levi,
which was the sonne of Ieso: which was the sonne of Helieser: which was the sonne of Ioram: which was the sonne of Mattha: which was the sonne of Levi:
30 son åt Simeon, son åt Juda, son åt Josef, son åt Jonam, son åt Eljakim,
which was the sonne of Simeon: which was the sonne of Iuda: which was the sonne of Ioseph: which was the sonne of Ionam: which was the sonne of Heliachim:
31 son åt Melea, son åt Menna, son åt Mattata, son åt Natan, son åt David,
which was the sonne of Melea: which was the sonne of Menam: which was the sonne of Mathathan: which was the sonne of Nathan: which was the sonne of David:
32 son åt Isai, son åt Obed, son åt Boaz, son åt Salmon, son åt Nahson,
which was the sonne of Iesse: which was the sonne of Obed: which was the sonne of Boos: which was the sonne of Salmon: which was the sonne of Naason:
33 son åt Amminadab, son åt Ram, son åt Hesron, son åt Peres, son åt Juda,
which was the sonne of Aminadab: which was the sonne of Aram: which was the sonne of Esrom: which was the sonne of Phares: which was the sonne of Iuda:
34 son åt Jakob, son åt Isak, son åt Abraham, son åt Tarah, son åt Nahor,
which was the sonne of Iacob: which was the sonne of Ysaac: which was the sonne of Abraham: which was the sonne of Tharra: which was the sonne of Nachor:
35 son åt Serug, son åt Re’u, son åt Peleg, son åt Eber, son åt Salah,
which was the sonne of Saruch: which was the sonne of Ragau: which was the sonne of Phalec: which was the sonne of Heber: which was the sonne of Sala:
36 son åt Kenan, son åt Arpaksad, son åt Sem, son åt Noah, son åt Lamek,
which was the sonne of Cainan: which was the sonne of Arphaxat: which was the sonne of Sem: which was the sonne of Noe: which was the sonne of Lameth:
37 son åt Metusalah, son åt Enok, son åt Jared, son åt Malalael, son åt Kenan,
which was the sonne of Mathusala: which was the sonne of Enoch: which was the sonne of Iareth: which was the sonne of Malalehel. which was the sonne of Cainan:
38 son åt Enos, son åt Set, son åt Adam, Guds son.
which was the sonne of Enos: which was the sonne of Seth: which was the sonne of Adam: which was the sonne of God.
