Lukas 24
1 Men den fyrste dagen i vika, tidleg i otta, kom dei til gravi, og hadde med seg kryddorne som dei hadde laga til.
And on the first day of the week, in the morning, while it was yet dark, they came to the sepulchre, and brought the aromatics they had prepared. And there were other women with them.
2 Då fekk dei sjå at steinen var velt ifrå gravi;
And they found the stone rolled from the sepulchre.
3 dei gjekk inn, men fann ikkje likamen åt Herren Jesus.
And they entered, and found not the body of Jesus.
4 Dei visste ikkje kva dei skulde tenkja um dette; då stod det med ein gong tvo menner i skinande klæde innmed deim,
And as they wondered at this, behold, two men stood opposite them; and their raiment was effulgent.
5 og med dei fulle av otte stirde nedfyre seg, sagde mennerne til deim: «Kvi leitar de etter den livande millom dei daude?
And they were in fear, and bowed their faces to the ground. And the men said to them: Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 Han er ikkje her; han hev stade upp att. Kom i hug kva han sagde med dykk då han endå var i Galilæa,
He is not here; he is risen. Remember how he conversed with you, when he was in Galilee,
7 at Menneskjesonen skulde gjevast i henderne på synduge menneskje og krossfestast, og standa upp att tridje dagen!»
and said, That the Son of man was to be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and to be crucified, and to rise on the third day.
8 Då kom dei i hug ordi hans,
And they remembered his words.
9 og dei gjekk burt att frå gravi, og fortalde alt dette til dei elleve og alle dei andre.
And they returned from the sepulchre, and related all these things to the eleven, and to the rest.
10 Det var Maria Magdalena og Johanna og Jakobs-Maria og dei hine kvinnorne i fylgjet deira - dei sagde dette med apostlarne;
Now they were Mary Magdalena, and Joanna, and Mary the mother of James, and the others with them, who related these things to the Legates.
11 men dei tenkte det var noko vas dei for med, og trudde deim ikkje.
And these words appeared in their eyes as dreams: and they believed them not.
12 Peter sprang like vel av stad til gravi, og då han lutte seg ned, såg han ikkje anna enn likklædi; so gjekk han burt att, og undrast med seg yver det som var hendt.
But Simon arose, and ran to the sepulchre, and looked in, and saw the linen lying by itself: and he went away wondering in himself at what had occurred.
13 Same dagen gjekk tvo av deim utetter til ein liten by som heiter Emmaus, og ligg ei mil frå Jerusalem,
And lo, two of them, on the same day, were going to a village named Emmaus, distant sixty furlongs from Jerusalem.
14 og på vegen tala dei med einannan um alt det som nyst hadde hendt.
And they talked together of all that had occurred.
15 Med dei no gjekk og tala og dryfte det med kvarandre, kom Jesus sjølv innåt og slo fylgje med deim;
And as they conversed, and questioned each other, Jesus came, and drew near, and walked with them.
16 men augo deira var fjetra, so dei kjende honom ikkje.
And their eyes were held, that they did not recognize him.
17 «Kva er det for ting de røder so um, med de gjeng etter vegen?» spurde han. Då stana dei, og det var sjåande til at dei sturde.
And he said to them: What are these discourses, which ye hold with each other, as ye walk and are sad?
18 Og den eine av deim - han heitte Kleopas - tok til ords og sagde til honom: «Du må visst vera den einaste som held til i Jerusalem og ikkje veit kva som hev hendt der desse dagarne!»
And one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answered and said to him: Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, that thou knowest not the things that have occurred there in these days?
19 «Kva for noko?» spurde han. «Det med Jesus frå Nasaret, » svara dei, «han som var ein profet, megtig i gjerning og ord for Gud og alt folket,
He said to them: What things? They say to him: In regard to Jesus of Nazareth, a man who was a prophet, and mighty in discourse and in action, before God, and before all the people.
20 korleis øvsteprestarne og rådsherrarne våre fekk dømt honom frå livet og krossfeste honom.
And the chief priests and Elders delivered him up to a sentence of death, and crucified him.
21 Og me vona at han var den som skulde løysa ut Israel. Og med alt det so er det no på tridje dagen sidan dette gjekk fyre seg.
But we expected that he was to deliver Israel. And lo, three days have passed, since all these things occurred.
22 Men so hev og nokre kvinnor i flokken vår sett oss i uro og undring; dei var i otta ved gravi,
And moreover, certain women of ours astonished us; for they went early to the sepulchre;
23 og fann ikkje likamen hans, men kom og fortalde at dei hadde set ei syn av englar, og at englarne hadde sagt at han liver.
and as they did not find the body, they came and said to us: We saw angels there, and they said that he is alive.
24 Nokre av felagerne våre gjekk då ut til gravi, og fann det heiltupp so som kvinnorne hadde sagt, men honom såg dei ikkje.»
And also some of us went to the sepulchre; and they found, as the women reported; but him they saw not.
25 «Å, for uvituge de er, » svara han, «og for seinhuga til å tru alt det som profetarne hev tale!
Then Jesus said to them: O deficient in understanding, and slow of heart to believe all the things that the prophets uttered.
26 Laut ikkje Messias lida dette, fyrr han kunde ganga inn til sin herlegdom?»
Were not these things to be; that the Messiah should suffer and that he should enter into his glory?
27 So tok han til frå Moses og alle profetarne, og i alle skrifterne lagde han ut for deim det som er sagt um honom der.
Then he began from Moses, and from all the prophets, and expounded to them concerning himself from all the scriptures.
28 Då dei var tett innmed den byen dei skulde til, lest han vilja ganga lenger.
And they drew near to the village to which they were going; and he made them feel, as if he would go to a more distant place.
29 Men dei nøydde honom og sagde: «Ver hjå oss! Det lid til kvelds, og dagen hallar.» So gjekk han inn og var hjå deim.
And they urged him, and said to him: Tarry with us, for the day inclineth towards dark. And he went in to remain with them.
30 Som han no sat til bords med deim, tok han brødet og velsigna det, og braut det og gav deim.
And it occurred, while he reclined with them, that he took bread, and blessed, and brake, and gave to them.
31 Då vart augo deira upplatne, so dei kjende honom att; men i det same kvarv han burt for augo deira.
And instantly, their eyes were opened, and, they knew him. And he took himself from them.
32 Då sagde dei med einannan: «Brann ikkje hjarta i oss då han tala med oss på vegen, då han lagde ut skrifterne åt oss?»
And they said one to another: Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and explained to us the scriptures?
33 Og dei tok ut i same stund, og gjekk attende til Jerusalem. Dei fann dei elleve og felagarne deira samla, og dei sagde:
And they arose, the same hour, and returned: to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven assembled, and those with them,
34 «Herren hev sanneleg stade upp att, og hev synt seg for Simon.»
who were saying: Certainly, our Lord hath risen; and he hath appeared to Simon.
35 Og sjølve fortalde dei um det som hadde hendt på vegen, og korleis dei hadde kjent honom då han braut brødet.
And they also related what occurred by the way, and how he became known to them, when he broke bread.
36 Best dei tala um dette, stod han sjølv midt ibland deim og sagde: «Fred vere med dykk!»
And while they were talking of these things, Jesus stood in the midst of them, and said to them: Peace be with you! It is I; be not afraid.
37 Dei kvakk og vart rædde, og trudde det var ei ånd dei såg.
And they were in trepidation and fear, for they supposed they saw a spirit.
38 Då sagde han til deim: «Kvi er de so forstøkte, og kvifor vaknar det tvil i hjarta dykkar?
Jesus said to them: Why are ye agitated? And why do imaginations arise in your hearts?
39 Sjå henderne og føterne mine, at det er eg sjølv! Kjenn på meg og sjå! Ei ånd hev då’kje kjøt og bein, som de ser eg hev.»
Look at my hands and my feet, that it is myself. Handle me, and know; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
40 Då han hadde sagt det, synte han deim henderne og føterne sine.
And as he said thus, he showed them his hands and his feet.
41 Då dei endå ikkje kunde tru for gleda, men berre undra seg, sagde han: «Hev de noko etande her?»
And while they still believed not, for their joy, and were astonished; he said to them: Have ye here any thing to eat?
42 Dei gav han eit stykke steikt fisk og noko av ei honningkaka,
And they gave him a piece of broiled fish, and of honeycomb.
43 og han tok det og åt det for augo deira.
And he took, and ate before them.
44 So sagde han til deim: «Dette var det eg tala til dykk um då eg endå var i lag med dykk, at alt som er skrive um meg i Moselovi og profetarne og salmarne, laut sannast.»
And he said to them: These are the things which I said to you while I was with you, That all things written of me, in the law of Moses and in the prophets and in the psalms, must be fulfilled.
45 So let han upp for tankarne deira, so dei kunde skyna skrifterne.
Then he opened their mind to understand the scriptures.
46 «So stend skrive, » sagde han, «at Messias skal lida og standa upp frå dei daude tridje dagen,
And he said to them: Thus it is written, and thus it was right for Messiah to suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day;
47 og i hans namn skal umvending og syndeforlating ropast ut for alle folkeslag; frå Jerusalem skal det ganga ut.
and that, in his name, repentance for the remission of sins should be preached among all nations, and that the commencement be at Jerusalem.
48 De skal sjølve vitna um dette.
And ye are the witnesses of these things.
49 Og no vil eg senda yver dykk det som far min hev lova; men de skal halda dykk rolege i byen, til de vert budde med kraft frå det høge.»
And I will send upon you the promise of my Father. But remain ye at Jerusalem until ye shall be clothed with energy from on high.
50 Sidan tok han deim med seg ut or byen, til burt imot Betania, og han lyfte upp henderne og velsigna deim.
And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifted his hands, and blessed them.
51 Og med han lyste velsigningi, skildest han frå deim og for upp til himmelen.
And it occurred, while he blessed them, that he was separated from them, and ascended to heaven.
52 Og dei kasta seg på kne og tilbad honom. So gjekk dei attende til Jerusalem i stor gleda,
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy.
53 og sidan var dei allstødt i templet og lova og prisa Gud.
And they were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen. Completion of the holy Gospel of Luke the Evangelist.
