Lukas 16
1 Han sagde og til læresveinarne: «Det var ein gong ein rik mann som hadde ein hushaldar. Og folk kom til honom og klaga på hushaldaren, og sagde at han øydde burt midelen hans.
He was saying now also to the disciples (of him: *k*) A man certain there was rich who had a manager, and he was accused unto him as wasting the possessions of him.
2 Då kalla han hushaldaren fyre seg og sagde til honom: «Kva er det no eg høyrer um deg? Gjer rekneskap for styringi di, for du kann ikkje standa fyre huset mitt lenger!»
And having called him he said to him; What [is] this I hear concerning you? do give the account of the stewardship of you; not for (you are able *N(k)O*) any longer to manage.
3 Hushaldaren tenkte med seg: «Kva skal eg gjera, sidan herren min segjer meg ut or tenesta? Eg orkar ikkje å grava, eg skjemmest ved å tigga.
Said then within himself the manager; What shall I do, for the master of me is taking away the management from me? To dig not I am able, to beg I am ashamed.
4 Jau, no veit eg kva eg vil gjera, so dei skal taka meg til seg når eg vert avsett!»
I know what I may do so that when I may have been removed (from *no*) the management they may receive me into the homes (of them. *NK(o)*)
5 So kalla han skuldmennerne åt herren sin til seg, ein for ein, og sagde til den fyrste: «Kor mykje er du skuldig husbonden min?»
And having called to [him] one each of the debtors of the master his own he was saying to the first; How much owe you to the master of me?
6 «Hundrad anker olje, » svara han. «Her hev du skuldbrevet ditt, » sagde hushaldaren; «set deg ned og skriv snøgt: femti!»
(then *NK(o)*) he said; A hundred baths of oil. (then *N(k)O*) he said to him; do take your (the bills *N(k)O*) and having sat down soon do write fifty.
7 So spurde han ein annan: «Enn du, kor mykje er du skuldig?» - «Hundrad tunnor kveite, » svara han. «Her hev du skuldbrevet ditt; skriv: åtteti!» sagde hushaldaren.
Then to another he said; You yourself now how much owe? And he said; A hundred cors of wheat. (and *k*) He says to him; do take your (bills *N(k)O*) and do write eighty.
8 Og Herren rosa uærlege hushaldaren for di han hadde fare klokt åt. For denne verdsens born er klokare til å stella seg med sine jamlikar enn ljossens born er. (aiōn g165)
And praised the master the manager unrighteous because shrewdly he had acted, For the sons of the age this more shrewd than the sons of the light in the generation their own are. (aiōn g165)
9 Og eg segjer dykk: Vinn dykk vener med den urettferdige Mammon, so dei kann taka imot dykk i dei ævelege heimarne når han tryt! (aiōnios g166)
and I myself to you say; for yourselves do make friends by the wealth of unrighteousness, that when (it may fail *N(K)O*) they may receive you into the eternal dwellings. (aiōnios g166)
10 Den som er tru i smått, er og tru i stort, og den som er uærleg i smått, er og uærleg i stort.
The [one] faithful with very little also with much faithful is, and the [one] with very little unrighteous also with much unrighteous is.
11 Hev de no ikkje vore true med den urettferdige Mammon, kven vil då tru den rette rikdomen åt dykk?
If therefore in the unrighteous wealth faithful not you have been, the true [riches] who to you will entrust?
12 Og hev de ikkje vore true med det som høyrer andre til, kven vil då gjeva dykk noko de sjølve kann eiga?
And if in that which [is] of another faithful not you have been, that which ([is] yours *NK(O)*) who to you will give
13 Ingen tenar kann tena tvo herrar; for anten vil han hata den eine og elska den andre, eller halda seg til den eine og vanvyrda hin. De kann ikkje tena både Gud og Mammon.»
No servant is able to two masters to serve; either for the one he will hate and the other he will love, or to one he will be devoted and the other he will despise. Not you are able God to serve and money.
14 Alt dette høyrde farisæarane på, og pengekjære som dei var, frynte dei åt honom.
Were listening to now these things all (and *k*) the Pharisees lovers of money being and they were ridiculing Him.
15 Då sagde han til deim: «De er dei som fær folk til å tru at de er rettferdige; men Gud kjenner hjarta dykkar; for det som er høgt i folkeaugo, er ein styggedom for Gud.
And He said to them; You yourselves are those justifying themselves before men, but God knows the hearts of you for that which among men [is] exalted an abomination before God (is. *k*)
16 Lovi og profetarne rådde alt til Johannes kom; frå den tid hev fagnadbodet um Guds rike vore kunngjort, og kvar og ein bryt seg inn i det med magt.
The law and the prophets [were] (until *N(k)O*) John; from that time the kingdom of God is evangelised [about], and everyone into it forces his way.
17 Men det vil lettare henda at himmelen og jordi forgjengst enn at ein einaste prikk i lovi fell burt.
Easier for however it is the heaven and the earth to pass away than of the law one stroke of a pen to fail.
18 Kvar den som skil seg frå kona si og giftar seg med ei onnor, gjer hor, og den som gifter seg med ei fråskild, gjer hor.
Everyone who is putting away the wife of him and marrying another commits adultery, And (everyone *k*) who separated her from a husband marrying commits adultery.
19 Det var ein gong ein rik mann; han klædde seg i purpur og fint lin, og heldt gaman og fest dag etter dag.
A man now certain there was rich and he was clothed in purple and fine linen making good cheer every day in splendor.
20 Og ein fatig mann som heitte Lasarus, låg utmed porten hans, full av verkjesår,
A poor man now certain (was *k*) named Lazarus (who *k*) had been laid at the gate of him full of sores
21 og stunda etter å få metta seg med det som fall frå bordet åt rikingen; men jamvel hundarne kom og sleikte såri hans.
and desiring to be fed from (crumbs *KO*) that falling from the table of the rich man; but even the dogs coming were licking the sores of him.
22 So hende det at den fatige døydde, og englarne bar honom av stad og lagde honom ved Abrahams barm. Den rike døydde og, og vart gravlagd.
It came to pass that then to die the poor man and to be carried away he by the angels into the bosom (*k*) of Abraham; Died then also the rich man and was buried.
23 Som han no slo upp augo sine i helheimen, der han låg og pintest, ser han Abraham langt burte, og Lasarus innmed barmen hans. (Hadēs g86)
And in Hades having lifted up the eyes of him, being in torment he sees (*k*) Abraham from afar and Lazarus in the bosom of him. (Hadēs g86)
24 Då ropa han: «Fader Abraham, gjer sælebot på meg! Send Lasarus so han kann duppa fingertuppen sin i vatn og svala tunga mi! For eg lid fælt i den logen.»
And he himself having cried out said; Father Abraham, do have mercy on me and do send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of the finger of him in water and may cool the tongue of mine, for I am suffering in flame this.
25 «Kom i hug, min son, » svara Abraham, «at du fekk det gode du ynskte deg i di livetid, og Lasarus like eins det som vondt var. Men no vert han trøysta her, og du lid vondt.
Said then Abraham; Child, do remember that you did fully receive (you yourself *k*) the [things] good of you in the lifetime of you, and Lazarus likewise the [things] harmful. Now however (here *N(k)O*) he is comforted, you yourself now are suffering.
26 Og attåt alt det er det lagt ein stor avgrunn millom oss og dykk, so dei som vil fara herifrå yver til dykk, dei kann ikkje; ikkje heller kann nokon koma derifrå yver til oss.»
And (besides *N(k)O*) all these things between us and you a chasm great has been fixed so that those desiring to pass (from here *N(k)O*) to you not may be able nor (those *k*) from there to us they shall pass.
27 «So bed eg deg, fader, » sagde den rike, «at du vil senda han til farshuset mitt!
He said then; I implore you then father, that you may send him to the house of the father of mine —
28 Eg hev fem brør, lat honom vitna for deim, so ikkje dei og skal koma til denne pinslestaden!»
I have for five brothers — so that he may warn to them that not also they themselves may come to place this of torment.
29 «Dei hev Moses og profetarne, » svara Abraham; «dei kann høyra på deim.»
Says (however *no*) (to him *ko*) Abraham; They have Moses and the prophets; they should listen to them.
30 «Å nei, fader Abraham!» sagde han; «men kjem nokon til deim frå dei daude, so gjer dei bot.»
And he said; No, father Abraham, but if one from [the] dead shall go to them, they will repent.
31 Då sagde Abraham: «Høyrer dei ikkje på Moses og profetarne, so trur dei ikkje heller um nokon stend upp frå dei daude.»»
He said however to him; If to Moses and the prophets not they listen, (not even *N(k)O*) if one out from [the] dead shall rise will they be persuaded.
