1 Samuels 3
1 Guten Samuel gjorde tenesta for Herren hjå Eli. Herrens ord var dyrt i dei dagarne, og profetsynerne var sjeldfengde.
Forsothe the child Samuel `mynystride to the Lord bifor Heli, and the word of the Lord was preciouse; in tho daies was noon opyn reuelacioun.
2 Då bar det so til med Eli låg i det vanlege kvileromet sitt - han tok til å dimmast på syni, so han ikkje kunde skilja -
Therfor it was doon in a dai, Heli lay in his bed, and hise iyen dasewiden, and he myyte not se the lanterne of God, bifor that it was quenchid.
3 og dei endå ikkje hadde sløkt Guds lampa, og Samuel sov i Herrens heilagdom, der Guds kista stod:
Forsothe Samuel slepte in the temple of the Lord, where the ark of God was.
4 då ropa Herren på Samuel, og han svara: «Ja, her er eg.»
And the Lord clepide Samuel; and he answeride and seide, Lo!
5 Han sprang til Eli og sagde: «Her er eg, du ropa på meg.» Han svara: «Nei, eg ropa ikkje; gakk og legg deg att!» Han gjekk og lagde seg.
Y. And he ran to Hely, and seide to hym, Lo! Y; for thou clepidist me. Which Hely seide, Y clepide not thee; turne thou ayen and slepe.
6 Herren ropa ein gong til: «Samuel!» Samuel reis upp og gjekk til Eli og sagde: «Ja, her er eg, du ropa på meg!» Han svara: «Nei, eg ropa ikkje, guten min! gakk og legg deg att!»
And he yede and slepte. And the Lord addide eft to clepe Samuel; and Samuel roos, and yede to Hely, and seide, Lo! Y; for thou clepidist me. And Heli answeride, Y clepide not thee, my sone; turne thou ayen and slepe.
7 Samuel hadde ikkje endå lært å kjenna Herren; Herrens ord hadde ikkje openberra seg for honom endå.
Forsothe Samuel knew not yit the Lord, nether the `word of the Lord was shewid to hym.
8 Tridje venda heldt Herren fram og ropa på Samuel. Han reis upp og gjekk til Eli og sagde: «Ja, her er eg, du ropa på meg.» Då skyna Eli det var Herren som ropa på guten.
And the Lord addide, and clepide yit Samuel the thridde tyme; `which Samuel roos and yede to Heli,
9 Og Eli sagde til Samuel: «Gakk du og legg deg! Hender det so at einkvan ropar på deg, skal du svara: «Tala, Herre! tenaren din høyrer!»» Samuel gjekk og lagde seg i romet sitt.
and seide, Lo! Y; for thou clepidist me. Therfor Heli vndirstood, that the Lord clepide the child; and Heli seide to Samuel, Go and slepe; and if he clepith thee aftirward, thou schalt seie, Speke thou, Lord, for thi seruaunt herith. Therfor Samuel yede and slepte in his place.
10 Då so Herren gjekk innåt og ropa som gongerne fyrr: «Samuel, Samuel!» då svara Samuel: «Tala, Herre! tenaren din høyrer.»
And the Lord cam, and stood, and clepide as he hadde clepid the secunde tyme, Samuel, Samuel. And Samuel seide, Speke thou, Lord, for thi seruaunt herith.
11 Då sagde Herren til Samuel: «Eg kjem til å gjera verk i Israel som kjem til å ringja for båe øyro på deim som høyrer det.
And the Lord seide to Samuel, Lo! Y make a word in Israel, which word who euer schal here, bothe hise eeris schulen rynge.
12 På den dagen skal eg lata koma yver Eli alt det eg hev tala um ætti hans, frå fyrst til sist.
In that dai Y schal reise ayens Heli alle thingis, whiche Y spak on his hows; Y schal bigynne, and Y schal ende.
13 Eg hev kunngjort for honom at eg vil døma ætti hans til æveleg tid, for den misgjerning som han visste um, at sønerne hans drog forbanning yver seg, og likevel aga han deim ikkje.
For Y biforseide to hym, that Y schulde deme his hows with outen ende for wickidnesse; for he knew, that hise sones diden vnworthili, and he chastiside not hem.
14 Difor hev eg svore Eli-ætti: «Aldri i æva skal syndi i Eli-ætti kunna sonast antan med slagtoffer eller noko anna offer.»»
Therfor Y swoor to the hows of Heli, that the wickidnesse of his hows schal not be clensid bi sacrifices and yiftis til in to with outen ende.
15 Samuel vart liggjande til morgons, då han skulde opna dørerne til Herrens hus. Samuel torde ikkje fortelja Eli um syni.
Forsothe Samuel slepte til the morewtid, and he openyde the doris of the hows of the Lord; and Samuel dredde to schewe the reuelacioun to Heli.
16 Men Eli ropa på Samuel, og sagde: «Samuel, guten min!» Han svara: «Her er eg.»
Therfor Heli clepide Samuel, and seide, Samuel, my sone. And he answeride and seide, Y am redi.
17 Han sagde: «Kva var det Gud tala til deg? Kjære, dyl det ikkje for meg! Gud late deg bøta no og sidan, dersom du løynar noko for meg av det han tala til deg!»
And Heli axide hym, What is the word which the Lord spak to thee? Y preye thee, hide thou not fro me; God do to thee `these thingis, and encreesse these thingis, if thou hidist fro me a word of alle wordis that ben seid to thee.
18 So fortalde Samuel alt saman, og løynde ingen ting for honom. Eli svara: Han er Herren. Han gjere som tekkjest honom!
And Samuel schewide to hym alle the wordis, and `hidde not fro hym. And Heli answeride, He is the Lord; do he that, that is good in hise iyen.
19 Samuel voks til, og Herren, var med honom, og let ikkje eitt av alle sine ord falla til jordi.
Forsothe Samuel encreeside, and the Lord was with hym, and noon of alle hise wordis felde in to erthe.
20 Heile Israel frå Dan til Be’erseba skyna at Samuel var utvald til profet for Herren.
And al Israel fro Dan to Bersabee knew, that feithful Samuel was a profete of the Lord.
21 Og Herren heldt fram med å syna seg i Silo. For Herren openberra seg for Samuel i Silo gjenom Herrens ord.
And the Lord addide `that he schulde appere in Silo, for the Lord was schewid to Samuel in Silo bi the `word of the Lord; and the word of Samuel cam to al Israel.
