1 Til sangmesteren; en salme av David. Herren bønnhøre dig på nødens dag, Jakobs Guds navn berge dig!

To him that excelleth. A Psalme of Dauid. The Lord heare thee in the day of trouble: the name of ye God of Iaakob defend thee:

2 Han sende dig hjelp fra helligdommen og støtte dig fra Sion!

Send thee helpe from the Sanctuarie, and strengthen thee out of Zion.

3 Han komme alle dine matoffer i hu og finne ditt brennoffer godt! (Sela)

Let him remember all thine offerings, and turne thy burnt offerings into asshes. (Selah)

4 Han gi dig efter ditt hjerte og fullbyrde alt ditt råd!

And graunt thee according to thine heart, and fulfill all thy purpose:

5 Måtte vi kunne juble over din frelse og løfte seiersmerket i vår Guds navn! Herren opfylle alle dine bønner!

That we may reioyce in thy saluation, and set vp the banner in the Name of our God, when the Lord shall performe all thy petitions.

6 Nu vet jeg at Herren frelser sin salvede; han svarer ham fra sin hellige himmel med frelsende storverk av sin høire hånd.

Now know I that the Lord will helpe his anointed, and will heare him from his Sanctuarie, by the mightie helpe of his right hand.

7 Hine priser vogner, hine hester, men vi priser Herrens, vår Guds navn.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the Name of ye Lord our God.

8 De synker og faller, men vi står og holder oss oppe.

They are brought downe and fallen, but we are risen, and stand vpright.

9 Herre, frels! Kongen bønnhøre oss på den dag vi roper!

Saue Lord: let the King heare vs in the day that we call.
