Jeremias 52

1 Sedekias var en og tyve år gammel da han blev konge, og han regjerte elleve år i Jerusalem; hans mor hette Hamital, datter av Jirmeja, og var fra Libna.

2 Han gjorde hvad ondt var i Herrens øine, aldeles som Jojakim hadde gjort.

3 For på grunn av Herrens vrede gikk det så med Jerusalem og Juda, inntil han kastet dem bort fra sitt åsyn. Og Sedekias falt fra kongen i Babel.

for upon face: anger LORD to be in/on/with Jerusalem and Judah till to throw he [obj] them from upon face his and to rebel Zedekiah in/on/with king Babylon

4 I hans niende regjeringsår, i den tiende måned, på den tiende dag i måneden, drog kongen i Babel Nebukadnesar med hele sin hær mot Jerusalem og leiret sig imot det, og de bygget skanser mot det rundt omkring.

5 Og de holdt byen kringsatt like til kong Sedekias' ellevte år.

6 I den fjerde måned, på den niende dag i måneden, var hungersnøden så stor i byen at landets folk ikke hadde noget å ete.

7 Og byens mur blev gjennembrutt, og alle krigsmennene flyktet og drog ut av byen om natten gjennem porten mellem begge murene ved kongens have, mens kaldeerne lå leiret mot byen rundt omkring; og de tok veien til ødemarken.

10 Og Babels konge drepte Sedekias' sønner for hans øine; også alle Judas høvdinger drepte han i Ribla.

11 Og Babels konge lot Sedekias blinde, og han lot ham binde med to kobberlenker og førte ham til Babel og holdt ham i fengsel til hans dødsdag.

12 I den femte måned, på den tiende dag i måneden - det var Babels konge Nebukadnesars nittende år - kom Nebusaradan, høvdingen over livvakten, en av de høieste menn hos kongen i Babel, til Jerusalem.

13 Han brente op Herrens hus og kongens hus, og alle Jerusalems hus - alle stormennenes hus - brente han op med ild.

18 De tok også askebøttene og ildskuffene og knivene og bollene til å sprenge blod med og røkelseskålene og alle kobberkarene som hadde vært brukt til tjenesten.

and [obj] [the] pot and [obj] [the] shovel and [obj] [the] snuffer and [obj] [the] bowl and [obj] [the] palm: dish and [obj] all article/utensil [the] bronze which to minister in/on/with them to take: take

19 Også skålene og fyrfatene og bollene til å sprenge blod med og askebøttene og lysestakene og røkelseskålene og begerne, alt som var av gull, og alt som var av sølv, det tok høvdingen over livvakten.

and [obj] [the] basin and [obj] [the] censer and [obj] [the] bowl and [obj] [the] pot and [obj] [the] lampstand and [obj] [the] palm: dish and [obj] [the] bowl which gold gold and which silver: money silver: money to take: take chief guard

20 De to søiler, det ene hav og de tolv kobberokser som var under fotstykkene som kong Salomo hadde latt gjøre for Herrens hus - i alle disse ting var kobberet ikke til å veie.

21 Og om søilene er å si at den ene søile var atten alen høi, og en tråd på tolv alen nådde omkring den; den var fire fingrer tykk, og hul.

26 dem tok Nebusaradan, høvdingen over livvakten, og førte dem til Babels konge i Ribla,

27 og Babels konge lot dem slå ihjel i Ribla i Hamat-landet. Således blev Juda bortført fra sitt land.

28 Dette er tallet på dem som Nebukadnesar bortførte: I det syvende år tre tusen og tre og tyve jøder;
