Esekiel 8

1 Og det skjedde i det sjette år, i den sjette måned, på den femte dag i måneden, mens jeg satt i mitt hus, og Judas eldste satt foran mig, at Herrens, Israels Guds hånd falt på mig der.

And in the sixt yere, in the sixt moneth, and in the fift day of the moneth, as I sate in mine house, and the Elders of Iudah sate before me, the hand of the Lord God fell there vpon me.

2 Og jeg så, og se, det var noget som var som ild å se til; fra det som var å se av hans lender og nedover, var alt som ild, og fra hans lender og opover var det som en glans å se til, som skinnet av det blanke metall.

Then I beheld, and lo, there was a likenesse, as the appearance of fire, to looke to, from his loynes downeward, and from his loynes vpward, as the appearance of brightnes, and like vnto amber.

3 Og han rakte ut noget som lignet en hånd, og tok mig ved håret på mitt hode, og et vær løftet mig op mellem jorden og himmelen og førte mig i syner fra Gud til Jerusalem, til inngangen av den indre forgårds port, som vender mot nord, der hvor nidkjærhets-billedet stod, det som vakte Guds nidkjærhet.

And he stretched out the likenes of an had, and tooke me by an hearie locke of mine head, and the Spirit lift me vp betweene the earth, and the heauen, and brought mee by a Diuine vision to Ierusalem, into the entry of ye inner gate that lieth toward the North, where remained the idole of indignation, which prouoked indignation.

4 Og der så jeg Israels Guds herlighet, likesom i det syn jeg hadde sett i dalen.

And beholde, the glorie of the God of Israel was there according to the vision, that I saw in the fielde.

5 Og han sa til mig: Menneskesønn, løft dine øine mot nord! Og jeg løftet mine øine mot nord og fikk se nidkjærhets-billedet nordenfor alterporten ved inngangen.

Then saide he vnto mee, Sonne of man, lift vp thine eyes nowe towarde the North. So I lift vp mine eyes towarde the North, and beholde, Northward, at the gate of the altar, this idole of indignation was in the entrie.

6 Og han sa til mig: Menneskesønn! Ser du hvad disse gjør? Store vederstyggeligheter er det Israels hus her gjør, så jeg må dra langt bort fra min helligdom; men du skal ennu få se flere store vederstyggeligheter.

He said furthermore vnto me, Sonne of man, seest thou not what they doe? euen the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here to cause me to depart from my Sanctuarie? but yet turne thee and thou shalt see greater abominations.

7 Og han førte mig til inngangen av forgården, og jeg så, og se, der var et hull i veggen.

And he caused me to enter at the gate of the court: and when I looked, beholde, an hole was in the wall.

8 Og han sa til mig: Menneskesønn, bryt igjennom veggen! Og jeg brøt igjennem veggen og fikk se en dør.

Then said he vnto me, Sonne of man, digge nowe in the wall. And when I had digged in the wall, beholde, there was a doore.

9 Og han sa til mig: Gå inn og se de fæle vederstyggeligheter som de gjør der!

And he said vnto mee, Go in, and beholde the wicked abominations that they doe here.

10 Og jeg gikk inn og så, og se, der var alle slags billeder av vederstyggelige kryp og firføtte dyr og alle Israels folks motbydelige avguder, inngravd på veggene rundt omkring.

So I went in, and sawe, and beholde, there was euery similitude of creeping thinges and abominable beasts and all the idoles of the house of Israel painted vpon the wall round about.

11 Og foran dem stod sytti menn av de eldste i Israels folk, og Ja'asanja, Safans sønn, stod midt iblandt dem, og hver av dem hadde et røkelsekar i hånden, og det steg op duft av røkelseskyen.

And there stoode before them seuentie men of the Ancients of the house of Israel, and in the middes of them stoode Iaazaniah, ye sonne of Shaphan, with euerie man his censour in his hand, and the vapour of the incense went vp like a cloude.

12 Og han sa til mig: Har du sett, menneskesønn, hvad de eldste i Israels folk gjør i mørket, hver i sine billedkammer? For de sier: Herren ser oss ikke, Herren har forlatt landet.

Then saide hee vnto mee, Sonne of man, hast thou seene what the Ancients of the house of Israel do in the darke, euery one in the chamber of his imagerie? for they say, The Lord seeth vs not, the Lord hath forsaken the earth.

13 Og han sa til mig: Ennu skal du få se flere store vederstyggeligheter som de gjør.

Againe he saide also vnto me, Turne thee againe, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they doe.

14 Og han førte mig til inngangen av porten til Herrens hus, den port som vender mot nord, og se, der satt kvinnene og gråt over Tammus.

And he caused me to enter into the entrie of the gate of the Lords house, which was toward the North: and beholde there sate women mourning for Tammuz.

15 Og han sa til mig: Har du sett det, menneskesønn? Ennu skal du få se flere vederstyggeligheter, større enn disse.

Then saide hee vnto me, Hast thou seene this, O sonne of man? Turne thee againe, and thou shalt see greater abominations then these.

16 Og han førte mig inn i den indre forgård til Herrens hus, og se, ved inngangen til Herrens tempel, mellem forhallen og alteret, var det omkring fem og tyve menn som vendte ryggen mot Herrens tempel og ansiktet mot øst, og de bøide sig mot øst for solen.

And he caused me to enter into the inner court of the Lordes house, and beholde, at the doore of the Temple of the Lord, betweene the porche and the altar were about fiue and twentie men with their backs toward the Temple of the Lord, and their faces towarde the East, and they worshipped the sunne, towarde the East.

17 Og han sa til mig: Har du sett det, menneskesønn? Var det ikke nok for Judas hus å gjøre de vederstyggeligheter de her har gjort, siden de også har opfylt landet med vold og atter vakt min harme? Se hvorledes de nu holder kvisten op til sin nese.

The he said vnto me, Hast thou seene this, O sonne of man? Is it a small thing to the house of Iudah to commit these abominations which they do here? for they haue filled the land with crueltie, and haue returned to prouoke mee: and loe, they haue cast out stinke before their noses.

18 Derfor vil da også jeg la min harme råde; jeg vil ikke vise skånsel og ikke spare dem; og om de roper for mine ører med høi røst, vil jeg ikke høre dem.

Therefore will I also execute my wrath: mine eye shall not spare them, neither will I haue pitie, and though they crie in mine eares with a loude voyce, yet will I not heare them.
