Esekiel 40

1 I det fem og tyvende år efterat vi var bortført, i begynnelsen av året, på den tiende dag i måneden, i det fjortende år efterat staden var inntatt, nettop på den dag kom Herrens hånd over mig, og han førte mig dit.

In the twenty-fifth year of our captivity, in the beginning of the year, on the tenth of the month, in the fourteenth year after that the city was smitten, on that same day the hand of Jehovah was upon me, and he brought me thither.

2 I syner fra Gud førte han mig til Israels land og satte mig ned på et meget høit fjell, og på det var det likesom en bygget stad i syd.

In the visions of God brought he me into the land of Israel, and set me upon a very high mountain; and upon it was as the building of a city, on the south.

3 Og han førte mig dit, og se, der var en mann hvis utseende var som kobber, og han hadde en linsnor og en målestang i hånden, og han stod i porten.

And he brought me thither, and behold, there was a man whose appearance was like the appearance of brass, with a flax-cord in his hand, and a measuring-reed; and he stood in the gate.

4 Og mannen talte til mig og sa: Menneskesønn! Se med dine øine og hør med dine ører og akt på alt det jeg vil la dig se! For du er ført hit, forat jeg skal la dig se det. Forkynn Israels hus alt det du ser!

And the man said unto me, Son of man, behold with thine eyes, and hear with thine ears, and set thy heart upon all that I shall shew thee; for in order that it might be shewn unto thee art thou brought hither. Declare to the house of Israel all that thou seest.

5 Og se, der var en mur utenom huset rundt omkring, og målestangen som mannen hadde i hånden, var seks alen lang, hver alen regnet til en almindelig alen og en håndsbredd, og han målte murens bredde: den var én stang, og dens høide: den var én stang.

And behold, there was a wall on the outside of the house round about, and in the man's hand a measuring-reed of six cubits, [each] of one cubit and a hand breadth. And he measured the breadth of the building, one reed; and the height, one reed.

6 Så kom han til den port hvis forside vendte mot øst, og han steg op efter dens trin, og han målte portens treskel: den var én stang i bredden - det var den første treskel, og den var én stang i bredden.

And he came to the gate which looked toward the east, and went up its steps; and he measured the threshold of the gate, one reed broad; and the other threshold one reed broad.

7 Og hver vaktstue var én stang i lengden og én stang i bredden, og mellem vaktstuene var det fem alen, og portens treskel ved portens forhall på den indre side var én stang.

And [each] chamber was one reed long and one reed broad; and between the chambers were five cubits; and the threshold of the gate, beside the porch of the gate within, was one reed.

8 Og han målte portens forhall på den indre side: den var én stang.

And he measured the porch of the gate within, one reed.

9 Og han målte portens forhall: den var åtte alen, og dens pilarer: de var to alen, og portens forhall lå på innsiden.

And he measured the porch of the gate, eight cubits; and the posts thereof, two cubits; and the porch of the gate was inward.

10 Og vaktstuene i porten mot øst var tre på hver side; alle tre var like store, og pilarene på begge sider var også like store.

And the chambers of the gate which was toward the east were three on this side and three on that side: they three were of one measure; and the posts on this side and on that side had one measure.

11 Og han målte bredden av portåpningen: den var ti alen, og portens lengde: den var tretten alen.

And he measured the breadth of the entry of the gate, ten cubits; [and] the length of the gate, thirteen cubits.

12 Foran vaktstuene var det et rum på én alen, og på den andre side likeledes et rum på én alen, og hver vaktstue var seks alen på den ene og seks alen på den andre side.

And there was a border before the chambers of one cubit, and a border of one cubit on the other side; and the chambers were six cubits on this side, and six cubits on that side.

13 Og han målte porten fra den ene vaktstues tak til den andres tak; bredden var fem og tyve alen, dør midt imot dør.

And he measured the gate from the roof of [one] chamber to the roof [of the other], a breadth of five and twenty cubits, entry opposite entry.

14 Og han gjorde pilarene seksti alen høie, og tett inn til pilarene lå forgården, rundt omkring porten.

And he made posts, sixty cubits, and by the post was the court of the gate round about.

15 Og fra forsiden av inngangsporten til forsiden av den indre ports forhall var det femti alen.

And from the front of the gate of the entrance unto the front of the porch of the inner gate were fifty cubits.

16 Og det var vinduer med fast gitter på vaktstuene og på deres pilarer innentil mot porten rundt omkring, og likeså på hallene; og således var det vinduer rundt omkring innentil, og på pilarene var det palmer.

And there were closed windows to the chambers, and to their posts within the gate round about, and likewise to the projections; and the windows round about were inward; and upon [each] post were palm-trees.

17 Så førte han mig til den ytre forgård, og se, der var kammere og et stenlagt gulv i forgården rundt omkring; det var tretti kammer på stengulvet.

And he brought me into the outer court, and behold, there were cells, and a pavement made for the court round about: thirty cells were upon the pavement.

18 Og stengulvet var ved siden av portene, svarende til portenes lengde; det var det nedre stengulv.

And the pavement was by the side of the gates, answering to the length of the gates, [namely] the lower pavement.

19 Og han målte bredden fra forsiden av den nedre port til den ytre forside av den indre forgård: den var hundre alen mot øst og mot nord.

And he measured the breadth from the front of the lower gate unto the front of the inner court outside, a hundred cubits eastward and northward.

20 Så målte han lengden og bredden av den port hvis forside vendte mot nord, og som hørte til den ytre forgård.

And the gate of the outer court, that looked toward the north, he measured its length and its breadth.

21 Den hadde tre vaktstuer på hver side, og dens pilarer og haller var like store som de i den første port; den var femti alen lang og fem og tyve alen bred.

And its chambers were three on this side and three on that side; and its posts and its projections were according to the measure of the first gate: its length was fifty cubits, and breadth five and twenty cubits.

22 Og vinduene og hallene og palmene var like store som i den port hvis forside vendte mot øst, og på syv trin steg en op i den, og dens haller lå foran dem.

And its windows, and its projections, and its palm-trees were according to the measure of the gate that looked toward the east; and they went up to it by seven steps; and the projections thereof were before them.

23 Og porten til den indre forgård lå midt imot porten som vendte mot nord og mot øst, og han målte hundre alen fra port til port.

And the gate of the inner court was opposite to the gate toward the north, and toward the east; and he measured from gate to gate a hundred cubits.

24 Så førte han mig mot syd, og se, der var en port som vendte mot syd; og han målte dens pilarer og haller: de var like store som de andre.

And he brought me toward the south: and behold, there was a gate toward the south; and he measured its posts and its projections according to these measures.

25 Og det var vinduer på den og på dens haller rundt omkring, likesom de andre vinduer; den var femti alen lang og fem og tyve alen bred.

And there were windows to it and to its projections round about, like those windows: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth five and twenty cubits.

26 Dens trapper hadde syv trin, og dens haller lå foran dem, og på dens pilarer var det palmer, én på hver side.

And there were seven steps to go up to it; and its projections were before them; and it had palm-trees, one on this side and one on that side, upon its posts.

27 Og der var en port til den indre forgård mot syd, og fra denne port til porten mot syd målte han hundre alen.

And there was a gate to the inner court toward the south; and he measured from gate to gate toward the south, a hundred cubits.

28 Så førte han mig til den indre forgård gjennem sydporten, og han målte sydporten: den var like stor som de andre.

And he brought me into the inner court by the south gate; and he measured the south gate according to these measures:

29 Og dens vaktstuer og pilarer og haller var like store som de andre, og det var vinduer på den og på dens haller rundt omkring; den var femti alen lang og fem og tyve alen bred.

and its chambers, and its posts, and its projections, according to these measures; and there were windows to it and to its projections round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.

30 Og det var haller rundt omkring, fem og tyve alen lange og fem alen brede.

And there were projections round about, twenty-five cubits long, and five cubits broad.

31 Hallene vendte ut mot den ytre forgård, og det var palmer på pilarene, og trappene hadde åtte trin.

And its projections were toward the outer court; and there were palm-trees upon its posts: and its ascent was [by] eight steps.

32 Så førte han mig til den indre forgård mot øst, og han målte porten: den var like stor som de andre.

And he brought me into the inner court toward the east; and he measured the gate according to these measures:

33 Og dens vaktstuer og pilarer og haller var like store som de andre; og det var vinduer på den og på dens haller rundt omkring; den var femti alen lang og fem og tyve alen bred.

and its chambers, and its posts, and its projections, according to these measures; and there were windows to it and to its projections round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.

34 Hallene vendte ut mot den ytre forgård, og det var palmer på pilarene på begge sider, og trappene hadde åtte trin.

And its projections were toward the outer court; and there were palm-trees upon its posts on this side and on that side: and its ascent was [by] eight steps.

35 Så førte han mig til nordporten, og han målte den: den var like stor som de andre;

And he brought me to the north gate, and he measured [it] according to these measures:

36 likeså målte han dens vaktstuer, pilarer og haller, og det var vinduer på den rundt omkring; den var femti alen lang og fem og tyve alen bred.

its chambers, its posts, and its projections; and there were windows to it round about: the length was fifty cubits, and the breadth twenty-five cubits.

37 Dens pilarer vendte mot den ytre forgård, og det var palmer på pilarene på begge sider, og trappene hadde åtte trin.

And its posts were toward the outer court; and there were palm-trees upon its posts, on this side and on that side: and its ascent was [by] eight steps.

38 Og det var et kammer med dør i pilarene ved portene; der skulde de skylle brennofferet.

And there was a cell and its entry by the posts of the gates; there they rinsed the burnt-offering.

39 Og i portens forhall stod det to bord på hver side til å slakte brennofferet og syndofferet og skyldofferet på.

And in the porch of the gate were two tables on this side, and two tables on that side, to slay thereon the burnt-offering and the sin-offering and the trespass-offering.

40 Og ved den ytre sidevegg, når en steg op i inngangen til porten mot nord, stod det to bord, og ved deri andre sidevegg på portens forhall stod det også to bord -

And at the side without, at the ascent to the entry of the north gate, were two tables; and on the other side, which was at the porch of the gate, were two tables:

41 fire bord ved hver sidevegg på porten, tilsammen åtte bord; på dem skulde de slakte.

four tables on this side, and four tables on that side, by the side of the gate, — eight tables, whereon they slew [the sacrifice],

42 Og det var fire bord til brennofferet; de var av hugne stener, halvannen alen lange og halvannen alen brede og én alen høie; på dem skulde de legge de redskaper som de skulde slakte brennofferet og slaktofferet med.

— and at the ascent, four tables of hewn stone, of a cubit and a half long, and a cubit and a half broad, and one cubit high; whereon also they laid the instruments with which they slew the burnt-offering and the sacrifice.

43 Og dobbelte knagger, en hånd brede, var festet på huset rundt omkring, og på bordene skulde offerkjøttet legges.

And the double hooks of a hand breadth were fastened round about within; and upon the tables [they put] the flesh of the offering.

44 Og utenfor den indre port var det kammere for sangerne i den indre forgård, ved siden av nordporten, og deres forside vendte mot syd; og en annen rad kammer lå ved siden av østporten, med forsiden mot nord.

And outside the inner gate were two cells in the inner court, one at the side of the north gate, and its front towards the south; the other was at the side of the south gate, the front towards the north.

45 Og han talte til mig og sa: Denne rad kammer, hvis forside vender mot syd, er for de prester som tar vare på det som er å vareta ved huset;

And he said unto me, This cell whose front is towards the south is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the house.

46 men den rad kammer hvis forside vender mot nord, er for de prester som tar vare på det som er å vareta ved alteret; det er Sadoks sønner, de av Levis sønner som treder nær til Herren for å tjene ham.

And the cell whose front is toward the north is for the priests, the keepers of the charge of the altar. These are the sons of Zadok, those who, from among the sons of Levi, approach unto Jehovah to minister unto him.

47 Og han målte forgården: den var hundre alen lang og hundre alen bred i firkant, og alteret stod foran huset.

And he measured the court, the length a hundred cubits, and the breadth a hundred cubits, four square: and the altar was before the house.

48 Så førte han mig til husets forhall og målte forhallens pilarer: de var fem alen på den ene og fem alen på den andre side, og portens bredde: den var tre alen på hver side.

And he brought me to the porch of the house; and he measured the post of the porch, five cubits on this side, and five cubits on that side; and the breadth of the gate, three cubits on this side, and three cubits on that side.

49 Forhallen var tyve alen lang og elleve alen bred, og den hadde trin som førte op til den, og ved pilarene stod der søiler, én på hver side.

The length of the porch was twenty cubits, and the breadth eleven cubits, even by the steps whereby they went up to it; and there were pillars by the posts, one on this side, and one on that side.
