Esekiel 32

1 I det tolvte år, i den tolvte måned, på den første dag i måneden, kom Herrens ord til mig, og det lød så:

And it came to pass in the twelfth year, in the twelfth month, on the first of the month, that the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

2 Menneskesønn! Stem i en klagesang over Farao, Egyptens konge, og si til ham: En ung løve blandt folkene vilde du være lik, og så var du som sjøuhyret i havet, og du fór frem i dine elver og gjorde vannet grumset med dine føtter og gjorde dets strømmer mudret.

Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say unto him, Thou wast like a young lion among the nations, and thou wast as a monster in the seas; and thou didst break forth in thy rivers, and troubledst the waters with thy feet, and fouledst their rivers.

3 Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Derfor vil jeg utspenne mitt garn over dig ved skarer av mange folk, og de skal dra dig op i min not.

Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: I will also spread out my net over thee with an assemblage of many peoples; and they shall bring thee up in my net.

4 Jeg vil kaste dig på land og slenge dig bort på marken, og jeg vil la alle himmelens fugler slå ned på dig og dyrene på hele jorden mette sig med dig.

And I will leave thee upon the land, I will cast thee forth upon the open field, and will cause all the fowl of the heavens to settle upon thee, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with thee.

5 Jeg vil kaste ditt kjøtt op på fjellene og fylle dalene med din store kropp.

And I will lay thy flesh upon the mountains, and fill the valleys with the heap of thy [members];

6 Jeg vil vanne landet med strømmer av ditt blod helt op til fjellene, og bekkeleiene skal fylles med dig.

and I will water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the water-courses shall be full of thee.

7 Og når jeg utslukker dig, vil jeg tildekke himmelen og klæ dens stjerner i sort; solen vil jeg tildekke med skyer, og månen skal ikke la sitt lys skinne.

And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heavens, and make the stars thereof black; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

8 Alle skinnende lys på himmelen vil jeg klæ i sort for din skyld, og jeg vil legge mørke over ditt land, sier Herren, Israels Gud.

All the bright lights of the heavens will I make black over thee, and bring darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord Jehovah.

9 Jeg vil vekke sorg i mange folkeslags hjerter, når jeg lar tidenden om din undergang komme ut iblandt folkene, i land som du ikke kjenner.

And I will vex the heart of many peoples, when I bring [the news of] thy destruction among the nations, into the countries that thou hast not known.

10 Jeg vil gjøre mange folk forferdet over dig, og deres konger skal gyse av redsel over dig, når jeg svinger mitt sverd for deres åsyn, og de skal beve hvert øieblikk, hver for sitt liv, på den dag du faller.

And I will make many peoples amazed at thee, and their kings shall be horribly afraid at thee, when I brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, each one for his life, in the day of thy fall.

11 For så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Babels konges sverd skal komme over dig.

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: The sword of the king of Babylon shall come upon thee.

12 For kjempers sverd vil jeg la din larmende hop falle - de er alle sammen de grusomste blandt folkene; de skal ødelegge Egyptens stolthet, og hele dets larmende hop skal tilintetgjøres.

By the swords of the mighty will I cause thy multitude to fall: the terrible of the nations are they all: and they shall spoil the pride of Egypt, and all the multitude thereof shall be destroyed.

13 Jeg vil utrydde alt dets fe, som har beitet ved de mange vann, og ingen menneskefot skal mere gjøre dem grumset, og ingen klov skal mere gjøre dem grumset.

And I will destroy all the beasts thereof, from beside the great waters; and the foot of man shall not trouble them any more, nor shall the cloven hoofs of beasts trouble them.

14 Da vil jeg la deres vann synke og deres strømmer flyte bort som olje, sier Herren, Israels Gud,

Then will I make their waters clear, and cause their rivers to run like oil, saith the Lord Jehovah.

15 når jeg gjør Egyptens land til en ørken, så landet ligger øde og tomt, når jeg slår ned alle dem som bor der; og de skal kjenne at jeg er Herren.

When I shall make the land of Egypt a desolation, and the country shall be left desolate of all that was in it, when I have smitten all them that dwell therein, then shall they know that I [am] Jehovah.

16 Dette er en klagesang, og den skal bli sunget, folkenes døtre skal synge den; over Egypten og hele dets larmende hop skal de synge den, sier Herren, Israels Gud.

It is a lamentation, and [thus] they shall lament her: the daughters of the nations shall say it in lamenting; they shall say it in lamenting over Egypt and over all her multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.

17 I det tolvte år, på den femtende dag i måneden, kom Herrens ord til mig, og det lød så:

And it came to pass in the twelfth year, on the fifteenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

18 Menneskesønn! Syng en gravsang over Egyptens larmende hop og la den fare ned, den og herlige folkeslags døtre, til dødsrikets land, sammen med dem som farer ned i graven!

Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, her and the daughters of the famous nations, unto the lower parts of the earth, with them that go down into the pit.

19 Overgår du nogen i skjønnhet? Far ned og legg dig hos de uomskårne!

Whom dost thou surpass in beauty? Go down, and be thou laid with the uncircumcised.

20 Midt iblandt dem som er drept med sverdet, skal de falle; sverdet er gitt. Dra avsted med det og med alle dets skarer!

They shall fall in the midst of them that are slain by the sword. The sword hath been given: draw her out, and all her multitudes.

21 Kjempenes høvdinger taler midt ut fra dødsriket om ham og hans hjelpere: De har faret ned, de ligger der, de uomskårne, drept med sverdet. (Sheol h7585)

The strong among the mighty, with them that helped him, shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol: they are gone down, they lie still, the uncircumcised, slain by the sword. (Sheol h7585)

22 Der er Assur og hele hans skare, rundt om ham er hans graver; alle sammen er drept, falt for sverdet;

There is Asshur and all his assemblage, his graves round about him: all of them slain, fallen by the sword;

23 hans graver er lagt i hulens dypeste bunn, og hans skare er rundt omkring hans grav; alle sammen er drept, falt for sverdet, de som utbredte redsel i de levendes land.

their graves are set in the sides of the pit, and his assemblage is round about his grave; all of them slain, fallen by the sword, — who caused terror in the land of the living.

24 Der er Elam og hele hans larmende hop rundt omkring hans grav; alle sammen er drept, falt for sverdet, de som uomskårne fór ned til dødsrikets land, de som hadde utbredt redsel for sig i de levendes land og bar sin skam sammen med dem som farer ned i graven.

There is Elam and all her multitude round about her grave, all of them slain, fallen by the sword, who are gone down uncircumcised unto the lower parts of the earth, who caused their terror in the land of the living; yet have they borne their confusion with them that go down to the pit.

25 Midt iblandt drepte menn er det redet et leie for ham med hele hans larmende hop, rundt omkring ham er hans graver; alle sammen er uomskårne, drept med sverdet, fordi redsel for dem var utbredt i de levendes land, og de bar sin skam sammen med dem som farer ned i graven; midt iblandt drepte menn blev han lagt.

They have set him a bed in the midst of the slain, with all his multitude: their graves are round about him, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though their terror was caused in the land of the living; and they have borne their confusion with them that go down to the pit: he is put in the midst of them that are slain.

26 Der er Mesek-Tubal og hele hans larmende hop, rundt omkring ham er hans graver; alle sammen er uomskårne, drept med sverdet, fordi de hadde utbredt redsel for sig i de levendes land.

There is Meshech, Tubal, and all their multitude, their graves round about them, all of them uncircumcised, slain by the sword, though they caused their terror in the land of the living.

27 Skulde de da ikke ligge hos kjemper, hos dem som er falt blandt de uomskårne, som fór ned til dødsriket med sine krigsvåben, og hvis sverd blev lagt under deres hoder, og hvis misgjerning tynget på deres ben, fordi det hadde vært redsel for kjempene i de levendes land? (Sheol h7585)

And they lie not with the mighty, [that are] fallen of the uncircumcised, who are gone down to Sheol with their weapons of war; and whose swords are laid under their heads, and whose iniquities are upon their bones, though they were the terror of the mighty in the land of the living. (Sheol h7585)

28 Og du, midt iblandt uomskårne skal du bli knust og ligge hos dem som er drept med sverdet.

Thou also shalt be broken in the midst of the uncircumcised, and shalt lie with them that are slain with the sword.

29 Dit er Edom kommet, hans konger og alle hans fyrster, som tross sitt velde er lagt hos dem som er drept med sverdet; de skal ligge hos uomskårne og hos dem som farer ned i graven.

There is Edom, her kings, and all her princes, who in their might are laid with them that are slain by the sword: they lie with the uncircumcised, and with them that go down to the pit.

30 Dit er Nordens fyrster kommet alle sammen, og alle sidonierne, som fór ned med de drepte og blev til skamme tross den redsel folk hadde hatt for dem for deres veldes skyld, og uomskårne fikk de sitt leie hos dem som var drept med sverdet, og de bar sin skam sammen med dem som farer ned i graven.

There are the princes of the north, all of them, and all the Zidonians, that are gone down with the slain — ashamed of the terror which they caused through their might; and they lie uncircumcised with them that are slain by the sword, and bear their confusion with them that go down to the pit.

31 Dem skal Farao se, og han skal trøste sig over hele sin larmende hop; drept med sverdet er Farao og hele hans hær, sier Herren, Israels Gud.

Pharaoh shall see them, and shall be comforted over all his multitude, Pharaoh and all his army slain by the sword, saith the Lord Jehovah.

32 For jeg har utbredt redsel for ham i de levendes land, og han skal legges midt iblandt de uomskårne, hos dem som er drept med sverdet, Farao selv og hele hans larmende hop, sier Herren, Israels Gud.

For I have caused my terror in the land of the living; and he shall be laid in the midst of the uncircumcised, with them that are slain by the sword, Pharaoh and all his multitude, saith the Lord Jehovah.
