Esekiel 23
1 Og Herrens ord kom til mig, og det lød så:
And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
2 Menneskesønn! Der var to kvinner, døtre av en mor.
Son of man, there were two women, daughters of one mother:
3 De drev hor i Egypten, i sin ungdom drev de hor; der trykket de deres bryster, der kjente de på deres jomfruelige barm.
and they went a-whoring in Egypt in their youth: there their breasts fell, there they lost their virginity.
4 Deres navn var: Ohola, den eldste, og Oholiba, hennes søster, og de blev mine og fødte sønner og døtre; og om deres navn er å si: Ohola er Samaria og Oholiba Jerusalem.
And their names were Oola the elder, and Ooliba her sister: and they were mine, and bore sons and daughters: and [as for] their names, Samaria was Oola, and Jerusalem was Ooliba.
5 Ohola drev hor og var utro mot mig; hun optendtes av elskov til sine elskere, til assyrerne, som hadde nærmet sig henne,
And Oola went a-whoring from me, and doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians that were her neighbours,
6 klædd i blått purpur, fyrster og herrer, alle sammen fagre unge menn, ryttere på sine hester.
clothed with purple, princes and captains; [they were] young men and choice, all horseman riding on horses.
7 Hun holdt sig til dem i hor, til alle de ypperste av Assurs sønner; hun gjorde sig uren med alle dem som hun optendtes av elskov til - med alle deres avguder.
And she bestowed her fornication upon them; all were choice sons of the Assyrians: and on whoever she doted herself, with them she defiled herself in all [their] devices.
8 Men sitt horelevnet fra Egypten lot hun ikke fare; for de hadde ligget hos henne i hennes ungdom, og de hadde kjent på hennes jomfruelige barm, og de hadde utøst sitt hor over henne.
And she forsook not her fornication with the Egyptians: for in her youth they committed fornication with her, and they deflowered her, and poured out their fornication upon her.
9 Derfor gav jeg henne i hennes elskeres hånd, i Assurs sønners hånd, som hun var optendt av elskov til.
Therefore I delivered her into the hands of her lovers, into the hands of the children of the Assyrians, on whom she doted.
10 De avdekket hennes blusel, tok hennes sønner og døtre og slo henne selv ihjel med sverdet; hun blev navnkundig blandt kvinnene, og de holdt dom over henne.
They uncovered her shame: they took her sons and daughters, and killed her with the sword: and she became a byword amongst women: and they wrought vengeance in her for the sake of the daughters.
11 Og hennes søster Oholiba så det og drev det verre med sin elskov enn hun, og verre med sitt hor enn hennes søster hadde gjort.
And her sister Ooliba saw [it], and she indulged in her fondness more corruptly than she, and in her fornication more than the fornication of her sister.
12 Hun optendtes av elskov til Assurs sønner, fyrster og herrer, som hadde nærmet sig henne, prektig klædd, ryttere på sine hester, alle sammen fagre unge menn.
She doted upon the sons of the Assyrian, princes and captains, her neighbours, clothed with fine linen, horsemen riding on horses; [they were] all choice young men.
13 Jeg så at hun var blitt uren; en og samme vei gikk de begge.
And I saw that they were defiled, [that] the two [had] one way.
14 Men hun drev sitt hor videre. Da hun så menn avbildet på veggen, billeder av kaldeerne malt med rødt,
And she increased her fornication, and she saw men painted on the wall, likenesses of the Chaldeans painted with a pencil,
15 omgjordet med belte om sine lender, med nedhengende farvede huer på sine hoder, alle sammen å se til som vognkjempere, en avbildning av Babels sønner, hvis fødeland er Kaldea,
having variegated girdles on their loins, having also richly dyed [attire] upon their heads; all had a princely appearance, the likeness of the children of the Chaldeans, of their native land.
16 da optendtes hun av elskov, så snart hun så dem med sine øine, og hun sendte bud til dem i Kaldea.
And she doted upon them as soon as she saw them, and sent forth messengers to them into the land of the Chaldeans.
17 Og Babels sønner kom til henne, til elskovs samleie, og gjorde henne uren med sitt hor; men da hun var blitt uren ved dem, vendte hennes sjel sig bort fra dem.
And the sons of Babylon came to her, into the bed of rest, and they defiled her in her fornication, and she was defiled by them, and her soul was alienated from them.
18 Da hun drev sitt hor så åpenbart og avdekket sin blusel, vendte min sjel sig bort fra henne, likesom min sjel hadde vendt sig bort fra hennes søster.
And she exposed her fornication, and exposed her shame: and my soul was alienated from her, even as my soul was alienated from her sister.
19 Men hun drev sitt hor ennu videre; hun kom sin ungdoms dager i hu, da hun drev hor i Egyptens land,
And you did multiply your fornication, so as to call to remembrance the days of your youth, wherein you did commit whoredom in Egypt,
20 og hun optendtes av elskov til horkarlene der, hvis kjøtt var som aseners kjøtt, og hvis utflod var som hesters utflod.
and you did dote upon the Chaldeans, whose flesh is as the flesh of the asses, and their members [as] the members of horses.
21 Så søkte du igjen til din ungdoms utukt, da egypterne kjente på din barm for dine ungdommelige brysters skyld.
And you did look upon the iniquity of your youth, [the things] which you wrought in Egypt in your lodgings, where were the breasts of your youth.
22 Derfor, Oholiba, sier Herren, Israels Gud, så: Se, jeg egger dine elskere imot dig, dem som din sjel har vendt sig bort fra, og jeg lar dem komme over dig fra alle kanter.
Therefore, Ooliba, thus says the Lord; Behold, I [will] stir up your lovers against you, from whom your soul is alienated, and I will bring them upon you round about,
23 Babels sønner og alle kaldeerne, Pekod og Sjoa og Koa, og sammen med dem alle Assurs sønner fagre unge menn, fyrster og herrer alle sammen, vognkjempere, navnkundige menn, alle sammen ridende på hester.
the children of Babylon, and all the Chaldeans, Phacuc, and Sue, and Hychue, and all the sons of the Assyrians with them; choice young men, governors and captains, all princes and renowned, riding on horses.
24 De skal komme over dig med krigsmakt, vogner og hjul, og med en skare av folkeslag; store skjold og små skjold og hjelmer skal de stille mot dig på alle kanter, og jeg vil overlate dommen til dem, og de skal dømme dig med sine dommer.
And they all shall come upon you from the north, chariots and wheels, with a multitude of nations, shields and targets; and [the enemy] shall set a watch against you round about: and I will set judgement before them, and they shall take vengeance on you with their judgements.
25 Jeg vil vise min nidkjærhet mot dig, og de skal fare frem mot dig i harme; din nese og dine ører skal de skjære av, og de som blir igjen av dig, skal falle for sverdet; de skal ta dine sønner og døtre, og de som blir igjen av dig, skal fortæres av ilden.
And I will bring upon you my jealousy, and they shall deal with you in great wrath: they shall take away your nose and your ears; and shall cast down your remnant with the sword: they shall take your sons and your daughters; and your remnant fire shall devour.
26 De skal dra dine klær av dig og ta dine prektige smykker.
And they shall strip you of your raiment, and take [away] your ornaments.
27 Således vil jeg gjøre ende på din utukt og ditt horelevnet fra Egyptens land, og du skal ikke mere løfte dine øine til dem og ikke mere komme Egypten i hu.
So I will turn back your ungodliness from you, and your fornication from the land of Egypt: and you shall not lift up your eyes upon them, and shall no more remember Egypt.
28 For så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Se, jeg gir dig i deres hånd som du hater, i deres hånd som din sjel har vendt sig bort fra.
Therefore thus says the Lord God; Behold, I [will] deliver you into the hands of those whom you hate, from whom your soul is alienated.
29 Og de skal fare frem mot dig i hat og ta alt det du har vunnet ved ditt strev, og la dig bli tilbake naken og bar, og din utuktige blusel og din skamløshet og ditt hor skal bli avdekket.
And they shall deal with you in hatred, and shall take all [the fruits] of your labours and your toils, and you shall be naked and bare: and the shame of your fornication shall be exposed: and your ungodliness and your fornication
30 Dette skal de gjøre med dig fordi du i hor har løpet efter hedningefolk, fordi du har gjort dig uren med deres motbydelige avguder.
brought this upon you, in that you went a-whoring after the nations, and did defile yourself with their devices.
31 På din søsters vei har du gått; derfor rekker jeg dig det samme beger som hun måtte tømme.
You did walk in the way of your sister; and I will put her cup into your hands.
32 Så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Din søsters beger skal du drikke, det dype og vide; du skal bli til latter og spott - det rummer meget.
Thus says the Lord; Drink your sister's cup, deep and large, and full, to cause complete drunkenness.
33 Av rus og sorg skal du bli full - et ødeleggelsens og herjingens beger er din søster Samarias beger.
And you shall be thoroughly weakened; and the cup of destruction, the cup of your sister Samaria,
34 Du skal drikke det ut til siste dråpe, og du skal gnage på dets skår og sønderrive dine bryster; for jeg har talt, sier Herren, Israels Gud.
drink you it, and I will take away her feasts and her new moons: for I have spoken [it], says the Lord.
35 Derfor sier Herren, Israels Gud, så: Fordi du glemte mig og kastet mig bak din rygg; så bær da også du straffen for din utukt og ditt hor!
Therefore thus says the Lord; Because you has forgotten me, and cast me behind your back, therefore receive you [the reward] of your ungodliness and your fornication.
36 Og Herren sa til mig: Menneskesønn! Vil du dømme Ohola og Oholiba? Forehold dem deres vederstyggeligheter!
And the Lord said to me, Son of man, will you not judge Oola and Ooliba? and declare to them their iniquities?
37 For de har drevet hor, og der er blod på deres hender, med sine motbydelige avguder har de drevet hor; ja, endog sine barn, som de hadde født mig, har de latt gå gjennem ilden for dem, forat de skulde ete dem.
For they have committed adultery, and blood was in their hands, they committed adultery with their devices, and they passed through the fire to them their children which they bore to me.
38 Også dette gjorde de mot mig: Den samme dag gjorde de min helligdom uren og vanhelliget mine sabbater.
So long too as they did these things to me, they defiled my sanctuary, and profaned my sabbaths.
39 Når de hadde slaktet sine barn for sine motbydelige avguder, kom de samme dag i min helligdom og vanhelliget den; se, således gjorde de i mitt hus.
And when they sacrificed their children to their idols, they also went into my sanctuary to profane it: and whereas they did thus in the midst of my house;
40 Ja, de sendte endog bud efter menn som skulde komme langveis fra; der blev skikket sendebud til dem, og se, de kom de som du hadde badet dig og sminket dine øine og smykket dig med prydelser for.
and whereas they did thus to the men that came from afar, to whom they sent messengers, and as soon as they came, immediately you did wash yourself, and did paint your eyes and adorn yourself with ornaments,
41 Og du satt på et prektig leie, og et bord stod dekket foran det, og min røkelse og min olje hadde du satt på bordet.
and sat on a prepared bed, and before it [there was] a table set out, and [as for] mine incense and mine oil, they rejoiced in them,
42 Lyden av en sorgløs mengde hørtes der inne, og til de menn av folkehopen som var der, hentedes drikkebrødre fra ørkenen, og de satte armbånd på deres hender og prektige kroner på deres hoder.
and they raised a sound of music, and [that] with men coming from the wilderness out of a multitude of men, and they put bracelets on their hands, and a crown of glory on their heads;
43 Da sa jeg om den utslitte skjøge: Nu driver de rett hor med henne, ja med henne.
Therefore I said, Do they not commit adultery with these? and has she also gone a-whoring [after] the manner of a harlot?
44 De gikk inn til henne som folk går inn til en skjøge; således gikk de inn til Ohola og Oholiba, de utuktige kvinner.
And they went in to her, as [men] go in to a harlot; so they went in to Oola and to Ooliba to work iniquity.
45 Men rettferdige menn skal dømme dem, som horkvinner dømmes og kvinner som utøser blod; for horkvinner er de, og blod er der på deres hender.
And they are just men, and shall take vengeance on them with the judgement of an adulteress and the judgement of blood: for they are adulteresses, and blood is in their hands.
46 For så sier Herren, Israels Gud: Jeg vil føre en folkeskare frem mot dem og overgi dem til mishandling og ran.
Thus says the Lord God, Bring up a multitude upon them, and send trouble and plunder into the midst of them.
47 Og folkeskaren skal stene dem og hugge dem sønder med sine sverd; deres sønner og døtre skal de slå ihjel, og deres hus skal de brenne op med ild.
And stone them with the stones of a multitude, and pierce them with their swords: they shall kill their sons and their daughters, and shall burn up their houses.
48 Således vil jeg gjøre ende på utukten i landet, og alle kvinner skal la sig advare og ikke drive slik utukt som I.
And I will remove ungodliness out of the land, and all the women shall be instructed, and shall not do according to their ungodliness.
49 Eders utukt skal legges på eder selv, og I skal bære straffen for eders synder med eders motbydelige avguder, og I skal kjenne at jeg er Herren, Israels Gud.
And your ungodliness shall be recompensed upon you, and you shall bear the guilt of your devices: and you shall know that I am the Lord.
