2 Krønikebok 29

1 Esekias blev konge da han var fem og tyve år gammel, og regjerte ni og tyve år i Jerusalem; hans mor hette Abia, Sakarjas datter.

Hezekiah he became king a son of twenty and five year[s] and twenty and nine year[s] he reigned in Jerusalem and [the] name of mother his [was] Abijah [the] daughter of Zechariah.

2 Han gjorde hvad rett var i Herrens øine, aldeles som hans far David hadde gjort.

And he did the right in [the] eyes of Yahweh according to all that he had done David ancestor his.

3 I sin regjerings første år, i den første måned, åpnet han igjen dørene til Herrens hus og satte dem i stand.

He in the year first of reigning his in the month first he opened [the] doors of [the] house of Yahweh and he repaired them.

4 Så lot han prestene og levittene hente og samlet dem på den åpne plass mot øst.

And he brought the priests and the Levites and he gathered them to [the] open place of the east.

5 Og han sa til dem: Hør på mig, I levitter! Hellige nu eder selv og hellige Herrens, eders fedres Guds hus og få urenheten ut av helligdommen!

And he said to them listen to me O Levites now consecrate yourselves and consecrate [the] house of Yahweh [the] God of ancestors your and bring out the impurity from the holy place.

6 For våre fedre har båret sig troløst at og gjort hvad ondt er i Herrens, vår Guds øine, og forlatt ham; de har vendt sitt åsyn bort fra Herrens tabernakel og vendt ham ryggen.

For they acted unfaithfully fathers our and they did the evil in [the] eyes of Yahweh God our and they forsook him and they turned faces their away from [the] tabernacle of Yahweh and they gave a back.

7 De har også stengt dørene til forhallen og slukket lampene og ikke brent røkelse og ikke ofret brennoffer i helligdommen for Israels Gud.

Also they shut [the] doors of the porch and they extinguished the lamps and incense not they made smoke and burnt offering[s] not they offered up in the holy place to [the] God of Israel.

8 Derfor er Herrens vrede kommet over Juda og Jerusalem, og han har overgitt dem til mishandling, til ødeleggelse og til spott, således som I ser det med egne øine.

And it was [the] wrath of Yahweh towards Judah and Jerusalem and he has made them (into a terror *QK) into a horror and into a hissing just as you [are] seeing with own eyes your.

9 Og derfor er våre fedre falt for sverdet, og våre sønner og døtre og hustruer er i fangenskap.

And there! they have fallen fathers our by the sword and sons our and daughters our and wives our [are] in captivity on this.

10 Nu har jeg i sinne å gjøre en pakt med Herren, Israels Gud, så hans brennende vrede kan vende sig bort fra oss.

Now [is] with heart my to make a covenant to Yahweh [the] God of Israel and it may turn back from us [the] burning of anger his.

11 Så la det nu ikke skorte eder på iver, mine sønner! For eder har Herren utvalgt til å stå for hans åsyn og tjene ham, til å være hans tjenere og brenne røkelse for ham.

O sons my now may not you be negligent for you he has chosen Yahweh to stand before him to serve him and to be of him servants and makers of smoke.

12 Da tok levittene fatt på arbeidet - det var Mahat, Amasais sønn, og Joel, Asarjas sønn, av kahatittenes barn, og av Meraris barn Kis, Abdis sønn, og Asarja, Jehallelels sønn, og av gersonittene Joah, Simmas sønn, og Eden, Joahs sønn,

And they arose the Levites Mahath [the] son of Amasai and Joel [the] son of Azariah of [the] descendants of the Kohathite[s] and of [the] descendants of Merari Kish [the] son of Abdi and Azariah [the] son of Jehallelel and of the Gershonite[s] Joah [the] son of Zimmah and Eden [the] son of Joah.

13 og av Elisafans barn Simri og Je'uel og av Asafs barn Sakarja og Mattanja,

And of [the] descendants of Elizaphan Shimri (and Jeiel *QK) and of [the] descendants of Asaph Zechariah and Mattaniah.

14 og av Hemans barn Jehuel og Sime'i og av Jedutuns barn Semaja og Ussiel.

And of [the] descendants of Heman (Jehiel *QK) and Shimei. And of [the] descendants of Jeduthun Shemaiah and Uzziel.

15 De samlet sine brødre og helliget sig og gikk så inn for å rense Herrens hus, således som kongen hadde befalt efter Herrens ord.

And they gathered relatives their and they consecrated themselves and they went according to [the] command of the king by [the] words of Yahweh to cleanse [the] house of Yahweh.

16 Og prestene gikk inn i det indre av Herrens hus for å rense det, og all den urenhet som de fant i Herrens tempel, førte de ut i forgården til Herrens hus; der tok levittene imot det og bar det ut til Kidron-bekken.

And they went the priests to within [the] house of Yahweh to cleanse [it] and they brought out all the uncleanness which they found in [the] temple of Yahweh to [the] court of [the] house of Yahweh and they received [it] the Levites to bring [it] out to [the] wadi of Kidron [the] outside towards.

17 På den første dag i den første måned begynte de å hellige sig, og på den åttende dag i måneden gikk de inn i Herrens forhall og helliget Herrens hus i åtte dager, og på den sekstende dag i den første måned var de ferdige.

And they began on [day] one of the month first to consecrate and on day eight of the month they came to [the] porch of Yahweh and they consecrated [the] house of Yahweh for days eight and on day six-teen of the month first they finished.

18 Derefter gikk de inn til kong Esekias og sa: Vi har renset hele Herrens hus og brennoffer-alteret med alt som til det hører, og skuebrødsbordet med alt som hører til det.

And they went within to Hezekiah the king and they said we have cleansed all [the] house of Yahweh [the] altar of the burnt offering and all utensils its and [the] table of the row and all utensils its.

19 Og alle de kar som kong Akas i sin troløshet hadde vanhelliget mens han var konge, dem har vi satt i stand og helliget, og nu står de foran Herrens alter.

And all the utensils which he had rejected the king Ahaz in reign his in unfaithfulness his we have prepared and we have consecrated and there they [are] before [the] altar of Yahweh.

20 Tidlig den næste morgen samlet kong Esekias byens høvdinger og gikk op til Herrens hus.

And he rose early Hezekiah the king and he gathered [the] officials of the city and he went up [the] house of Yahweh.

21 Og de kom med syv okser, syv værer, syv lam og syv gjetebukker til syndoffer for riket og for helligdommen og for Juda; og han bød Arons barn, prestene, å ofre dem på Herrens alter.

And they brought young bulls seven and rams seven and lambs seven and he-goats of goats seven to a sin offering on the kingdom and on the sanctuary and on Judah and he said to [the] descendants of Aaron the priests to offer up on [the] altar of Yahweh.

22 De slaktet da oksene, og prestene tok imot blodet og sprengte det på alteret; så slaktet de værene og sprengte blodet på alteret, og så slaktet de lammene og sprengte blodet på alteret.

And they slaughtered the cattle and they took the priests the blood and they sprinkled [it] the altar towards and they slaughtered the rams and they sprinkled the blood the altar towards and they slaughtered the lambs and they sprinkled the blood the altar towards.

23 Derefter førte de syndoffer-bukkene frem foran kongen og menigheten, og de la sine hender på dem,

And they brought near [the] goats of the sin offering before the king and the assembly and they laid hands their on them.

24 og prestene slaktet dem og sprengte blodet av dem på alteret som syndoffer, til soning for hele Israel; for kongen hadde befalt at brennofferet og syndofferet skulde være for hele Israel.

And they slaughtered them the priests and they made a sin offering blood their the altar towards to make atonement on all Israel for for all Israel he had said the king the burnt offering and the sin offering.

25 Og han lot levittene stille sig op i Herrens hus med cymbler, harper og citarer, således som David og kongens seer Gad og profeten Natan hadde foreskrevet; for det var Herren som hadde gitt denne forskrift gjennem sine profeter.

And he stationed the Levites [the] house of Yahweh with cymbals with lyres and with harps by [the] command of David and Gad [the] seer of the king and Nathan the prophet for [was] by [the] hand of Yahweh the commandment by [the] hand of prophets his.

26 Levittene stod med Davids musikkinstrumenter og prestene med trompetene.

And they stood the Levites with [the] instruments of David and the priests with trumpets.

27 Så bød Esekias å ofre brennofferet på alteret; og på samme tid som ofringen begynte, begynte også sangen for Herren og trompetene å lyde, ledsaget av Davids, Israels konges instrumenter.

And he said Hezekiah to offer up the burnt offering to the altar and at [the] time [when] it began the burnt offering it began [the] song of Yahweh and the trumpets and on [the] hands of [the] instruments of David [the] king of Israel.

28 Og hele menigheten kastet sig ned mens sangen lød og trompetene klang, og alt dette varte til ofringen var til ende.

And all the assembly [were] bowing down and the song [was] singing and the trumpets ([were] blowing a trumpet *Qk) everything until was complete the burnt offering.

29 Da de var ferdig med ofringen, falt de på kne, både kongen og alle de som var der sammen med ham, og de tilbad.

And just as finished to offer up they bowed down the king and all those [who] were found with him and they bowed down.

30 Så bød kong Esekias og høvdingene at levittene skulde love Herren med Davids og seeren Asafs ord; og de lovet ham med fryd og bøide sig ned og tilbad.

And he said Hezekiah the king and the officials to the Levites to praise Yahweh with [the] words of David and Asaph the seer and they praised to to joy and they bowed low and they bowed down.

31 Og Esekias tok til orde og sa: I har nu fylt eders hånd for Herren; kom nu hit og før frem slaktoffere og takkoffere til Herrens hus! Da kom menigheten med slaktoffere og takkoffere, og enhver hvis hjerte drev ham til det, kom med brennoffere.

And he answered Hezekiah and he said now you have filled hand your to Yahweh draw near and bring sacrifices and thank-offerings to [the] house of Yahweh and they brought the assembly sacrifices and thank-offerings and every [person] willing of heart burnt offerings.

32 Og tallet på de brennoffer som menigheten førte frem, var sytti okser, hundre værer og to hundre lam; alt dette var til brennoffer for Herren.

And it was [the] number of the burnt offering[s] which they brought the assembly cattle seventy rams one hundred lambs two hundred [were] for a burnt offering to Yahweh all these.

33 De andre offer som blev frembåret, var seks hundre stykker storfe og tre tusen stykker småfe.

And the holy offerings [were] cattle six hundred and sheep three thousand.

34 Men det var ikke prester nok til å flå alle brennofferne, derfor fikk de hjelp av sine brødre levittene til arbeidet var ferdig, og til de andre prester hadde helliget sig; for levittene hadde vist en redeligere vilje til å hellige sig enn prestene.

Only the priests they were to fewness and not they were able to skin all the burnt offerings and they helped them relatives their the Levites until was complete the work and until they had consecrated themselves the priests for the Levites [were] upright of heart to consecrate themselves more than the priests.

35 Det var også en mengde brennoffer, og dertil kom fettstykkene av takkofferne og de drikkoffer som hørte til brennofferne. Således kom tjenesten i Herrens hus i sin rette skikk.

And also burnt offering[s] to abundance with [the] fat of the peace offerings and with the drink offerings of the burnt offering and it was arranged [the] service of [the] house of Yahweh.

36 Og Esekias og hele folket gledet sig over det som Gud hadde gjort for folket; for alt dette var skjedd med én gang.

And he rejoiced Hezekiah and all the people on what he had prepared God for the people for in suddenness it had happened the thing.
