1 Levis sønner var Gerson, Kahat og Merari.
The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
2 Og Kahats sønner var Amram, Jishar og Hebron og Ussiel.
And the sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.
3 Og Amrams barn var Aron og Moses og Mirjam; og Arons sønner var Nadab og Abihu, Eleasar og Itamar.
And the sons of Amram: Aaron, and Moses, and Miriam. And the sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
4 Eleasar fikk sønnen Pinehas; Pinehas fikk sønnen Abisua,
Eleazar begot Phinehas, Phinehas begot Abishua,
5 og Abisua fikk sønnen Bukki, og Bukki fikk sønnen Ussi,
and Abishua begot Bukki, and Bukki begot Uzzi,
6 og Ussi fikk sønnen Serahja, og Serahja fikk sønnen Merajot;
and Uzzi begot Zerahiah, and Zerahiah begot Meraioth,
7 Merajot fikk sønnen Amarja, og Amarja fikk sønnen Akitub,
Meraioth begot Amariah, and Amariah begot Ahitub,
8 og Akitub fikk sønnen Sadok, og Sadok fikk sønnen Akima'as,
and Ahitub begot Zadok, and Zadok begot Ahimaaz,
9 og Akima'as fikk sønnen Asarja, og Asarja fikk sønnen Johanan,
and Ahimaaz begot Azariah, and Azariah begot Johanan,
10 Johanan fikk sønnen Asarja; det var han som gjorde prestetjeneste i det hus som Salomo hadde bygget i Jerusalem.

14 og Asarja fikk sønnen Seraja, og Seraja fikk sønnen Josadak.
and Azariah begot Seraiah, and Seraiah begot Jehozadak.
15 Josadak drog med da Herren bortførte Juda og Jerusalem i fangenskap ved Nebukadnesar.
And Jehozadak went into captivity when Jehovah carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.
16 Levis sønner var Gersom, Kahat og Merari.
The sons of Levi: Gershom, Kohath, and Merari.
17 Og dette er navnene på Gersoms sønner: Libni og Sime'i.
And these are the names of the sons of Gershom: Libni and Shimei.
18 Og Kahats sønner var Amram og Jishar og Hebron og Ussiel.
And the sons of Kohath were Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel.
19 Meraris sønner var Mahli og Musi. Dette var levittenes ætter efter deres fedre.
The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. And these are the families of the Levites according to their fathers.

45 sønn av Hasabja, sønn av Amasja, sønn av Hilkias,
the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,
46 sønn av Amsi, sønn av Bani, sønn av Semer,
the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,
47 sønn av Mahli, sønn av Musi, sønn av Merari, sønn av Levi.
the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

54 Dette var deres bosteder efter deres byer innenfor deres landemerker: Arons sønner av kahatittenes ætt, som loddet først kom ut for,
Now these are their dwelling-places according to their encampments in their borders, to the sons of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites (for theirs was the first lot),
55 de fikk Hebron i Juda land med tilhørende jorder rundt omkring;
to them they gave Hebron in the land of Judah, and the suburbs of it round about it.

But the fields of the city, and the villages of it, they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh.
57 Arons sønner fikk altså tilfluktsstædene Hebron og Libna med tilhørende jorder og Jattir og Estemoa med jorder
And to the sons of Aaron they gave the cities of refuge, Hebron, Libnah also with its suburbs, and Jattir, and Eshtemoa with its suburbs,
58 og Hilen med jorder, Debir med jorder
and Hilen with its suburbs, Debir with its suburbs,
59 Og Asan med jorder og Bet-Semes med jorder,
and Ashan with its suburbs, and Beth-shemesh with its suburbs.
60 og av Benjamins stamme Geba med tilhørende jorder og Allemet med jorder og Anatot med jorder; deres byer var i alt tretten byer efter deres ætter.
And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Geba with its suburbs, and Allemeth with its suburbs, and Anathoth with its suburbs. All their cities throughout their families were thirteen cities.
61 Men de andre Kahats barn av stammens ætt fikk ved loddkasting ti byer av den halve Manasse stammes halve del.
And to the rest of the sons of Kohath were given by lot, out of the family of the tribe, out of the half-tribe, the half of Manasseh, ten cities.
62 Og Gersoms barn efter sine ætter fikk tretten byer av Issakars stamme og av Asers stamme Og av Naftali stamme og av Manasse stamme i Basan.
And to the sons of Gershom, according to their families, out of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
63 Meraris barn efter sine ætter fikk ved loddkasting tolv byer av Rubens stamme og av Gads stamme og av Sebulons stamme.
To the sons of Merari were given by lot, according to their families, out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
64 Således gav Israels barn levittene disse byer med tilhørende jorder.
And the sons of Israel gave to the Levites the cities with their suburbs.
65 De gav dem ved loddkasting av Judas barns stamme og av Simeons barns stamme og av Benjamins barns stamme disse byer, som de nevnte ved navn.
And they gave by lot out of the tribe of the sons of Judah, and out of the tribe of the sons of Simeon, and out of the tribe of the sons of Benjamin, these cities which are mentioned by name.

And some of the families of the sons of Kohath had cities of their borders out of the tribe of Ephraim.

And they gave to them the cities of refuge, Shechem in the hill-country of Ephraim with its suburbs, also Gezer with its suburbs,

and Jokmeam with its suburbs, and Beth-horon with its suburbs,
69 og Ajalon med jorder og Gat-Rimmon med jorder,
and Aijalon with its suburbs, and Gath-rimmon with its suburbs.

And out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Aner with its suburbs, and Bileam with its suburbs, for the rest of the family of the sons of Kohath.

To the sons of Gershom were given out of the family of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its suburbs, and Ashtaroth with its suburbs.

And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kedesh with its suburbs, Daberath with its suburbs,
73 og Ramot med jorder og Anem med jorder,
and Ramoth with its suburbs, and Anem with its suburbs.
74 og av Asers stamme Masal med tilhørende jorder og Abdon med jorder
And out of the tribe of Asher, Mashal with its suburbs, and Abdon with its suburbs,
75 og Hukok med jorder og Rehob med jorder,
and Hukok with its suburbs, and Rehob with its suburbs.
76 og av Naftali stamme Kedes i Galilea med tilhørende jorder og Hammon med jorder og Kirjata'im med jorder.
And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its suburbs, and Hammon with its suburbs, and Kiriathaim with its suburbs.
77 Meraris barn - resten av levittene - fikk av Sebulons stamme Rimmono med tilhørende jorder og Tabor med jorder,
To the rest of the Levites, the sons of Merari, were given out of the tribe of Zebulun, Rimmono with its suburbs, Tabor with its suburbs.
78 og på hin side Jordan ved Jeriko, østenfor Jordan, fikk de av Rubens stamme Beser i ørkenen med tilhørende jorder og Jahsa med jorder
And beyond the Jordan at Jericho, on the east side of the Jordan, were given them out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the wilderness with its suburbs, and Jahzah with its suburbs,
79 og Kedemot med jorder og Mefa'at med jorder,
and Kedemoth with its suburbs, and Mephaath with its suburbs.
80 og av Gads stamme Ramot-Gilead med tilhørende jorder og Mahana'im med jorder
And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with its suburbs, and Mahanaim with its suburbs,
81 og Hesbon med jorder og Jaser med jorder.
and Heshbon with its suburbs, and Jazer with its suburbs.
