ယာကုပ် 4

1 ၁ သင်တို့တွင် စစ်တိုက်ခြင်း၊ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်းသည် အဘယ်အကြောင်းကြောင့်ဖြစ်သနည်း။ သင်တို့အင်္ဂါ များ၌ စစ်ပြိုင်သော ကိလေသာ ကာမစိတ်ကြောင့် ဖြစ်သည်မဟုတ်လော။

Whence [are] wars and fightings among you? not thence — out of your passions, that are as soldiers in your members?

2 ၂ သင်တို့သည် တပ်မက်၍မရကြ။ လူအသက်ကို သတ်၍၎င်း၊ အလွန်လိုချင်သောလောဘစိတ်ရှိ၍၎င်း၊ အလိုမပြည့်စုံနိုင်ကြ။ ရန်တွေ့ခြင်း၊ စစ်တိုက်ခြင်းကိုလည်း ပြု၍မရကြ။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ဆုမတောင်းဘဲ နေကြ၏။

ye desire, and ye have not; ye murder, and are zealous, and are not able to attain; ye fight and war, and ye have not, because of your not asking;

3 ၃ ဆုတောင်းလျှင်လည်း ကာမဂုဏ်ခံစားစရာတို့ရှိစေခြင်းငှါ၊ အလွဲတောင်းသောကြောင့်မရကြ။

ye ask, and ye receive not, because evilly ye ask, that in your pleasures ye may spend [it].

4 ၄ မတရားသောမေထုန်၌မှီဝဲသော ယောက်ျားမိန်းမတို့၊ လောကီမိဿဟာယသည် ဘုရားသခင်နှင့် ဆန့်ကျင်ဘက်ဖြစ်သည်ကို မသိကြသလော။ ဤလောကနှင့် မိဿဟာယဖွဲ့လိုသောသူသည် ဘုရားသခင်၏ ရန်သူဖြစ်၏။

Adulterers and adulteresses! have ye not known that friendship of the world is enmity with God? whoever, then, may counsel to be a friend of the world, an enemy of God he is set.

5 ၅ ကျမ်းစာချက် အချည်းနှီးသက်သက်ဖြစ်သည်ဟူ၍၎င်း၊ ငါတို့၌ တည်နေသော ဝိညာဉ်တော်သည် ငြူစူစေချင်သော သဘောရှိသည်ဟူ၍၎င်း၊ ထင်ကြသလော။

Do ye think that emptily the Writing saith, 'To envy earnestly desireth the spirit that did dwell in us,'

6 ၆ ထိုဝိညာဉ်တော်သည် သာ၍များသော ကျေးဇူးကိုပြုတော်မူ၏။ ထိုသို့နှင့်အညီ ကျမ်းစာလာ သည်ကား၊ ထောင်လွှားစော်ကားသောသူတို့ကို ဘုရားသခင် ဆီးတားတော်မူ၏။ စိတ်နှိမ့်ချသော သူတို့အား ကျေးဇူးပြုတော်မူ၏ဟုလာသတည်း။

and greater grace he doth give, wherefore he saith, 'God against proud ones doth set Himself up, and to lowly ones He doth give grace?'

7 ၇ ထိုကြောင့်၊ ဘုရားသခင်၏အလိုတော်သို့ လိုက်ကြလော့။ မာရ်နတ်ကို ဆီးတားကြလော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင်၊ သူသည် သင်တို့ထံက ပြေးသွားလိမ့်မည်။

be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you;

8 ၈ ဘုရားသခင်၌ချဉ်းကပ်ကြလော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင်၊ သင်တို့၌ချဉ်းကပ်တော်မူလိမ့်မည်။ အပြစ်ရှိသောသူတို့၊ သင်တို့လက်ကို စင်ကြယ်စေကြလော့။ စိတ်နှစ်ခွရှိသာသူတို့၊ သင်တို့စိတ်နှလုံးကို သန့်ရှင်းစေကြလော့။

draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you; cleanse hands, ye sinners! and purify hearts, ye two-souled!

9 ၉ ဆင်းရဲငြိုငြင်ခြင်း၊ စိတ်မသာညည်းတွားခြင်း၊ ငိုကြွေးမြည်တမ်းခြင်းရှိကြလော့။ သင်တို့ရယ်ခြင်းကို စိတ်မသာညည်းတွားခြင်း၊ ဖြစ်စေကြလော့။ ဝမ်းမြောက်ခြင်းကိုလည်း ဝမ်းနည်းခြင်းဖြစ်စေကြလော့။

be exceeding afflicted, and mourn, and weep, let your laughter to mourning be turned, and the joy to heaviness;

10 ၁၀ ဘုရားသခင့်ရှေ့တော်၌ ကိုယ်ကိုကိုယ် နှိမ့်ချကြလော့။ သို့ပြုလျှင်၊ သင်တို့ကို ချီးမြှောက်တော် မူလိမ့်မည်။

be made low before the Lord, and He shall exalt you.

11 ၁၁ ညီအစ်ကိုတို့၊ အချင်းချင်းတယောက်ကိုတယောက် ကဲ့ရဲ့ခြင်းကိုမပြုကြနှင့်။ ညီအစ်ကိုချင်းကို ကဲ့ရဲ့၍၊ သူ၌အပြစ်ရှိသည်ဟု စီရင်သောသူသည် တရားကို ကဲ့ရဲ့၏။ တရား၌အပြစ်ရှိသည်ဟုစီရင်၏။ ထိုသို့ပြုလျှင်၊ သင်သည်တရားကို ကျင့်သောသူမဟုတ်၊ တရားကို စစ်ကြောစီရင်သောသူဖြစ်၏။

Speak not one against another, brethren; he who is speaking against a brother, and is judging his brother, doth speak against law, and doth judge law, and if law thou dost judge, thou art not a doer of law but a judge;

12 ၁၂ ပညတ်တရားကို ထားပိုင်သောသူ၊ စစ်ကြောစီရင်ပိုင်သောသူ တပါးတည်းရှိတော်မူ၏။ ထိုသူသည် ကယ်တင်ခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊ ဖျက်ဆီးခြင်းငှါ၎င်း၊ တတ်နိုင်တော်မူ၏။ သူတပါးကိုစစ်ကြောစီရင်သောသင်သည်ကား အဘယ်သူနည်း။

one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy; thou — who art thou that dost judge the other?

13 ၁၃ ယနေ့ နက်ဖြန် ဤမည်သောမြို့သို့ သွားကြကုန်အံ့။ ထိုမြို့၌ တနှစ်ပတ်လုံးနေ၍ ကုန်သွယ်သဖြင့် အမြတ်ရအောင် ပြုကြကုန်အံ့ဟု ဆိုတတ်သောသူတို့၊ နားထောင်ကြလော့။

Go, now, ye who are saying, 'To-day and to-morrow we will go on to such a city, and will pass there one year, and traffic, and make gain;'

14 ၁၄ နက်ဖြန်နေ့၌အဘယ်သို့ ဖြစ်မည်ကိုသင်တို့မသိကြ။ သင်တို့ အသက်သည် အဘယ်သို့သောအရာ ဖြစ်သနည်း။ ခဏထင်ရှားပြီးမှ ကွယ်ပျောက်တတ်သော အခိုးအငွေ့ဖြစ်၏။

who do not know the thing of the morrow; for what is your life? for it is a vapour that is appearing for a little, and then is vanishing;

15 ၁၅ ထဝရဘုရားသည် အလိုတော်ရှိ၍၊ ငါတို့သည်လည်းအသက်ရှင်လျှင်၊ ဤသို့ပြုကြကုန်အံ့၊ ထိုသို့ပြုကြ ကုန်အံ့ဟု သင်တို့ဆိုသင့်ရာဖြစ်၏။

instead of your saying, 'If the Lord may will, we shall live, and do this or that;'

16 ၁၆ ယခုသင်တို့သည် မိမိထောင်လွှားခြင်း၌ ဝါကြွားကြသေး၏။ ထိုသို့သောဝါကြွားခြင်းရှိသမျှသည် မကောင်းမသင့်ဖြစ်၏။

and now ye glory in your pride; all such glorying is evil;

17 ၁၇ ထိုကြောင့်၊ ကောင်းသောအကျင့်ကို သိလျက် မကျင့်ဘဲနေသော သူသည်အပြစ်ရှိ၏။

to him, then, knowing to do good, and not doing, sin it is to him.
