ယောန 4

1 ၁ ယောန သည် အလွန် စိတ်ညစ် ၍ အမျက်ထွက် သဖြင့် ၊ အို ထာဝရဘုရား ၊ အကျွန်ုပ်တောင်းပန်ပါ၏။ အကျွန်ုပ် သည် ကိုယ် ပြည် ၌ ရှိ စဉ် ၊ ဤသို့ ပြော ပါပြီ မ ဟုတ် လော။ ထိုကြောင့် ၊ ကိုယ်တော်ထံမှ တာရှု မြို့သို့ ကြိုးစား၍ ပြေး ပါ၏။

But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he was very angry.

2 ၂ ကိုယ်တော် သည် သနား စုံမက်တတ်သော ဘုရား ဖြစ်၍ စိတ်ရှည် သောသဘော၊ ကျေးဇူး ပြုချင်သော သဘော၊ အပြစ်ဒဏ် ပေးမည့်အမှုကို နောင်တရ တတ်သော သဘောရှိတော်မူကြောင်း ကို အကျွန်ုပ် သိ ပါ၏။

And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray you, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that you are a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repent you of the evil.

3 ၃ သို့ဖြစ်၍ ၊ အိုထာဝရဘုရား ၊ အကျွန်ုပ် အသက် ကို နှုတ်ယူ တော်မူပါ။ အကျွန်ုပ် အသက် ရှင်ခြင်းထက် သေ ခြင်း သည် သာ၍ကောင်း ပါသည်ဟု တောင်း လျှောက်လေ ၏။

Therefore now, O LORD, take, I plead to you, my life from me; for it is better for me to die than to live.

4 ၄ ထာဝရဘုရား ကလည်း ၊ သင် သည် အမျက် ထွက် ကောင်း သလောဟုမေး တော်မူ၏။

Then said the LORD, Do you well to be angry?

5 ၅ ယောန သည် မြို့ ၌ အဘယ်သို့ ဖြစ် မည်ကို သိမြင် ခြင်းငှါ၊ မြို့ ပြင်သို့ထွက် ၍ မြို့ အရှေ့ မျက်နှာ၌ တဲ မိုးကို လုပ် ပြီးလျှင် ၊ အမိုးအရိပ် တွင် ထိုင် ၍နေ၏။

So Jonah went out of the city, and sat on the east side of the city, and there made him a booth, and sat under it in the shadow, till he might see what would become of the city.

6 ၆ အရှင် ထာဝရဘုရား သည်လည်း ကြက်ဆူ ပင်ကို ပြင်ဆင် ပြီးလျှင် ၊ ယောန၏စိတ်ကို ပြေ စေခြင်းငှါ သူ့ ခေါင်း ပေါ်မှာ လွှမ်း၍ မိုးစေတော်မူ၏။ ထိုအပင် ကြောင့် ယောန သည် အလွန် အားရဝမ်းမြောက် ၏။

And the LORD God prepared a gourd, and made it to come up over Jonah, that it might be a shadow over his head, to deliver him from his grief. So Jonah was exceeding glad of the gourd.

7 ၇ နက်ဖြန် မိုဃ်းလင်း သောအခါ ဘုရား သခင်ခန့် ထား တော်မူသောပိုး ကောင်သည် ကြက်ဆူ ပင်ကို ကိုက် ၍ ညှိုးနွမ်း စေ၏။

But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it stroke the gourd that it withered.

8 ၈ နေ ထွက် သောအခါ ဘုရား သခင်သည် အလွန် ပူ သောအရှေ့ လေ ကို ပြင်ဆင် တော်မူ၍ ၊ ယောန ၏ ခေါင်း ကို နေ ထိခိုက် သဖြင့် သူသည် မော ၍ သေ ချင်သော စိတ် ရှိ လျက် ၊ ငါ့ အသက်သေ ခြင်းသည် ရှင် ခြင်းထက် သာ၍ကောင်း သည်ဟု မြည်တမ်း လေ၏။

And it came to pass, when the sun did arise, that God prepared a vehement east wind; and the sun beat upon the head of Jonah, that he fainted, and wished in himself to die, and said, It is better for me to die than to live.

9 ၉ ဘုရား သခင်ကလည်း ၊ သင်သည် ကြက်ဆူ ပင် အတွက် အမျက် ထွက်ကောင်း သလောဟုမေး တော်မူလျှင် ၊ ယောနက၊ အကျွန်ုပ် သည် အသက်သေ သည် တိုင်အောင် အမျက် ထွက်ကောင်း ပါသည်ဟု လျှောက် ဆို၏။

And God said to Jonah, Do you well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.

10 ၁၀ ထာဝရဘုရား ကလည်း ၊ သင် သည် ပင်ပန်းစွာ မ လုပ် ၊ ကြီးပွား စေခြင်းငှါလည်း မ ပြုစု၊ တညဉ့် ခြင်းတွင် ပေါက် ၍ တညဉ့် ခြင်းတွင် သေ သော ကြက်ဆူ ပင်ကို နှမြော သည်တကား။

Then said the LORD, You have had pity on the gourd, for the which you have not laboured, neither made it grow; which came up in a night, and perished in a night:

11 ၁၁ ငါ သည် များစွာ သော တိရစ္ဆာန် တို့ကိုမဆို၊ ကိုယ် လက်ျာ လက်နှင့် လက်ဝဲ လက်ကိုမျှ ပိုင်းခြား၍ မ သိ သော သူ တသိန်း နှစ်သောင်းမက ၊ လူ များ သော နိနေဝေ မြို့ ကြီး ကို ငါနှမြော သင့်သည်မ ဟုတ်လောဟု မိန့် တော်မူ ၏။

And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more then sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?
