< Matei 14 >

1 Gene mobhago a mpalume Elode gubhapilikene ngani ja a Yeshu.
At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard the report concerning Yeshua,
2 Bhai, gubhaalugulilenje bhatumishi bhabho, “Bhenebha a Yowana bhabhatisha bhashiyuka, pabha mashili gabho ganatenda ilapo.”
and said to his servants, “This is Yochanan the Immerser. He is risen from the dead. That is why these powers work in him.”
3 Pabha a Elode bhashinkwaakamula a Yowana, nikwatabha kuligelesha kwa ligongo lya a Elodia, akongobhabho a Pilipi, apwabho.
For Herod had arrested Yochanan, bound him, and put him in prison for the sake of Herodias, his brother Philip’s wife.
4 Pabha a Yowana bhashinkwaalugulila a Elode “Nngabha alali mmwe kwaalomba bhene bhakongwebho!”
For Yochanan said to him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.”
5 A Elode bhashinkupinga kwaabhulaga a Yowana, ikabheje bhashikwaajogopanga bhandunji, pabha bhamumanyinji kuti, a Yowana ankulondola bha a Nnungu.
When he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
6 Lyubha lya shikukuu sha bhelekwa kwabho a Elode, mwali jwabho a Elodia ashinkuina pa bhajeninji. A Elode guyaanonyele,
But when Herod’s birthday came, the daughter of Herodias danced amongst them and pleased Herod.
7 mpaka gubhalumbile kumpa mwalijo shoshowe shapinga juga.
Therefore he promised with an oath to give her whatever she should ask.
8 Najwalakwe, akuno ajigenywe na akwabhe, gwashite, “Mmbe nnainope nshipeta, ntwe gwa a Yowana bhabhatisha.”
She, being prompted by her mother, said, “Give me here on a platter the head of Yochanan the Immerser.”
9 A Elode gubhainjishe, ikabheje kwa ligongo lya lumbila kwabho na ga bhajeninji, gubhaamulishe apegwe.
The king was grieved, but for the sake of his oaths and of those who sat at the table with him, he commanded it to be given,
10 Bhai, a Elode gubhantumile mundu kuligelesha akaakate ntwe a Yowana.
and he sent and beheaded Yochanan in the prison.
11 Ntwe gwabho guuishe guli nshiniya, gubhampele mwali jula, najwalakwe akwaapaga akwabhe.
His head was brought on a platter and given to the young lady; and she brought it to her mother.
12 Bhaajiganywa bha a Yowana gubhaikengenenje, gubhatolilenje maiti gala, gubhashishilenje. Kungai gubhapite kwaabhalanjilanga a Yeshu.
His disciples came, took the body, and buried it. Then they went and told Yeshua.
13 A Yeshu bhakapilikaneje ngani ja a Yowanajo, gubhajabhwile pepala na ntumbwi, gubhapite kujika kwangali bhandu. Ikabheje bhandu gubhamumanyinji, gubhaakagwilenje na makongono kukoposhela mwiilambo yabhonji.
Now when Yeshua heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place apart. When the multitudes heard it, they followed him on foot from the cities.
14 Bhai, bhakaisheje kumbwani gubhaluweni lugwinjili lwa bhandu, gubhaabhonelenje shiya, gubhaalamiyenje bhalwele bhabhonji.
Yeshua went out, and he saw a great multitude. He had compassion on them and healed their sick.
15 Ligulo, bhaajiganywa bhabho gubhaajendelenje gubhaalugulilenje, “Putuli pano pa anga na ligulo liishe. Bhai, mwaalajilanje bhandunji bhajendangane kushijiji bhakaiumilanje shalya.”
When evening had come, his disciples came to him, saying, “This place is deserted, and the hour is already late. Send the multitudes away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves food.”
16 A Yeshu gubhaalugulilenje, “Ikapinjikwa bhajendangane, mmanganyanji mwaapanganje shalya.”
But Yeshua said to them, “They don’t need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
17 Na bhalabhonji gubhaalugulilenje, “Jitukwete mikate nng'anope na yamaki ibhili.”
They told him, “We only have here five loaves and two fish.”
18 A Yeshu gubhaalugulilenje, “Mmbanganje yowe akuno.”
He said, “Bring them here to me.”
19 Gubhaamulishe bhandu bhatamangane mmanyai. Kungai a Yeshu gubhatolile mikate nng'ano jila na yamaki ibhili ila, gubhalolile kunnungu, gubhaatendele eja a Nnungu. Kungai gubhagebhenye mikate jila, gubhaapelenje bhaajiganywa bhabho, na bhalabhonji gubhaapelenje bhandunji.
He commanded the multitudes to sit down on the grass; and he took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes.
20 Bhandu bhowe gubhalilenje, nijukuta. Kungai bhaajiganywa gubhakundikenyenje malepei gala, gubhagumbeyenje ikapu yaishoko likumi limo na ibhili.
They all ate and were filled. They took up twelve baskets full of that which remained left over from the broken pieces.
21 Bhandu bhalilenje bhala pubhalinginji bhanabhalume elupu nng'ano, gwangali kwabhalanganishiyanga bhanabhakongwe na bhana.
Those who ate were about five thousand men, in addition to women and children.
22 Shangupe, a Yeshu gubhaamulishenje bhaajiganywa bhabho bhakwelanje muntumbwi, bhalongolelanje jomboka litanda akuno bhalikwaalajilanga bhandunji.
Immediately Yeshua made the disciples get into the boat and go ahead of him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
23 Bhakaalajilanjeje bhandunji, gubhakwelile kushitumbi jikape kujuga Nnungu. Lyene ligulolyo pubhaliji jikape kweneko,
After he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into the mountain by himself to pray. When evening had come, he was there alone.
24 na gene malangago ntumbwi gula pugwaliji tome pakati pakati litanda, ikabheje gwatendaga komwa na mabhimbili pabha mbungo jatendaga puga kopoka mmujo jabhonji.
But the boat was now in the middle of the sea, distressed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.
25 Shilo, tome na kumashelo, a Yeshu gubhaajendelenje bhaajiganywa bhalikwenda panani mashi.
In the fourth watch of the night, Yeshua came to them, walking on the sea.
26 Bhaajiganywa bhabho bhaakabhonanjeje bhalikwenda pantundu mashi gubhajogopenje kwa kaje, gubhashitenje, “Lioka!” Gubhajobhelenje bhalijogopanga.
When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It’s a ghost!” and they cried out for fear.
27 Shangupe, a Yeshu gubhabhelekete nabhonji, “Mwiilumanje ntima, ni nne. Nnajogopanje!”
But immediately Yeshua spoke to them, saying, “Cheer up! It is I! Don’t be afraid.”
28 A Petili gubhaalugulile, “Mmakulungwa, ibhaga kweli mmwe, nnugulile nyiye kweneko pantundu mashi.”
Peter answered him and said, “Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters.”
29 A Yeshu gubhashite, “Ayaga, nnjiye.” A Petili gubhatulwishe muntumbwi mula gubhatandwibhe kwenda panani mashi, bhalikwaajendela a Yeshu.
He said, “Come!” Peter stepped down from the boat and walked on the waters to come to Yeshua.
30 Ikabheje bhakajibhoneje mbungo jila, bhakujogopaga, gubhatandwibhe titimila, gubhagutile nguto, “Mmakulungwa, nndapule!”
But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
31 Penepo a Yeshu gubhagolweye nkono gwabho, gubhaakamwile nikwaalugulila, “Mmwe nkwete ngulupai jishoko! Pakuti mwangakulupalila malobhe gangu?”
Immediately Yeshua stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”
32 Kungai gubhakwelilenje muntumbwi mula, na mbungo jila jikupumulaga.
When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.
33 Bhowe bhalinginji muntumbwi mula guhaatindibhalilenje, bhalinkutinji, “Kweli mmwe ni Bhanabho a Nnungu.”
Those who were in the boat came and worshipped him, saying, “You are truly the Son of God!”
34 Gubhajombokenje litanda, gubhaikengenenje kushilambo sha Geneshaleti.
When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.
35 Bhandunji bha kwekula bhakamumanyanjeje, gubhashumiyenje nganijo mmbali yowe. Bhai gubhaapeleshelenje a Yeshu bhalwelenji bhowe,
When the people of that place recognised him, they sent into all that surrounding region and brought to him all who were sick;
36 gubhaashondelesheyenje bhaalekanje bhaakwayanje nkali libhiniko lya ngubho jabho. Na bhowe bhaakwashiyenje gubhalamilenje.
and they begged him that they might just touch the fringe of his garment. As many as touched it were made whole.
