< Luka 5 >

1 Lyubha limo a Yeshu bhashinkujima nnyenje litanda lya Geneshaleti na bhandu bhabhagwinji bhalibhaatimbililenje bhalinokolananga nkwabhandishila, kupinga pilikanishiya lilobhe lya a Nnungu.
On one occasion the crowd was pressing on Him and listening to God's Message, while He was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret.
2 Gubhajibhweni mitumbwi jibhili nnyenje litanda. Ashaayene bhatanda yamaki bhashinkutulukanga kualaya mau gabhonji.
He, however, saw two fishing-boats drawn up on the beach (for the men had gone away from them and were washing the nets),
3 A Yeshu bhakajinjileje mumashua gumo gwaaliji gwa a Shimoni, gubhaalugulile a Shimoni bhaunokolesheye mmashi ga taliya kashoko na mumpelo litanda. Gubhatemi, gubhajigenye lugwinjili lwa bhandu bhali mmashua.
and going on board one of them, which was Simon's He asked him to push out a little from land. Then He sat down and taught the crowd of people from the boat.
4 Bhakamaliyeje kujiganya, gubhaalugulile a Shimoni, “Mpeleshe ntumbwi pa shilindili, nkatejelanje mau genunji ntandanje yamaki.”
When He had finished speaking, He said to Simon, "Push out into deep water, and let down your nets for a haul."
5 A Shimoni gubhaajangwile, “Mmakulungwa, tushisheya shilo showeshi nkutanda yamaki ikabheje shakwa shitupatile, ikabheje pabha nkubhalanga mmwe, shindejele mau gano.”
"Rabbi," replied Peter, "all night long we have worked hard and caught nothing; but at your command I will let down the nets."
6 Bhakatejelanjeje mau gabhonji, gubhapatilenje yamaki yaigwinji, nkali mau gugatandwibhe kukutuka.
This they did, and enclosed a vast number of fish; and their nets began to break.
7 Gubhaashemilenje ashaajabhonji bhalinginji mmitumbwi jina gubhaikengenenje kukwajangutanga, gubhagumbeyenje yamaki mitumbwi jinaabhili, gujitandwibhe kutitimila mmashi.
So they signalled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them; they came, and they filled both the boats so that they almost sank.
8 A Shimoni Petili bhakabhoneje nneila, gubhaatindibhalile a Yeshu, gubhashite, “Mwiijabhulile apano Mmakulungwa, pabha nne nankulebha!”
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at the knees of Jesus, and exclaimed, "Master, leave my boat, for I am a sinful man."
9 A Shimoni na ashaajabhonji gubhakanganigwenje gaapata yamaki yaigwinji nneila.
(For he was astonished and terrified--he and all his companions--at the haul of fish which they had taken;
10 Nneila peila a Yakobho na a Yowana bhana bha a Shebhedayo bhalinginji bhatanda yamaki ajabhonji a Shimoni gubhakanganigwenje. A Yeshu gubhaalugulile a Shimoni, “Nnajogope, kutandubhila nnaino nkatanda yamaki, ikabheje liengo lyenu shilibhe lya tanda bhandu.”
and so were Simon's partners James and John, the sons of Zabdi.) But Jesus replied to Simon, "Fear not: from this time you shall be a catcher of men."
11 Bhai bhakajikwakwatanjeje mitumbwi jila mpaka palanga ja litanda, gubhaleshilenje yowe gubhaakagulenje a Yeshu.
Then, after bringing their boats to land, they left everything and followed Him.
12 A Yeshu pubhaliji, kushilambo shimo, jwannume jumo jwa mangundula shiilu showe, gwabhabhweni. Bhai akwiigwiyaga namanguku alikwaajuga a Yeshu alinkuti, “Mmakulungwa, mpingaga, shinndakaye.”
On another occasion, when He was in one of the towns, there was a man there covered with leprosy, who, seeing Jesus, threw himself at His feet and implored Him, saying, "Sir, if only you are willing, you are able to make me clean."
13 A Yeshu gubhagolweye nkono gubhankwashiye akuno bhalibheleketa, “Ngunipinga, utakate!” Shangupe mangundula gala gakunshokaga.
Reaching out His hand and touching him, Jesus said, "I am willing; be cleansed!" And instantly the leprosy left him.
14 A Yeshu gubhannalajile mundu jula bhalinkuti, “Unammalanjile mundu jojowe, ikabhe ukailanguye ku bhakulungwa bhaabhishila, ukashoye mbepei ya takata kwako, malinga shijilugula shalia ja a Musha, ibhe ukong'ondelo kunngwabhonji kuti utekete.”
He ordered him to tell no one. "But go," He said, "show yourself to the Priest, and make the offering for your purification which Moses appointed, as evidence for them."
15 Ikabheje ngani ja a Yeshu jikupundaga kushuma kowe. Makundi ga bhandu gugalopweshe kukwapilikanishiya na kulamywa ilwele yabhonji.
But all the more the report about Him spread abroad, and great multitudes crowded to hear Him and to be cured of their diseases;
16 Ikabheje a Yeshu, papagwinji bhatendaga kwenda ku jika kukwaajuga a Nnungu.
but Jesus Himself constantly withdrew into the Desert and there prayed.
17 Lyubha limo a Yeshu bhatendagajiganya.
One day He was teaching, and there were Pharisees and teachers of the Law sitting there who had come from every village in Galilee and Judaea and from Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was present for Him to cure people.
18 Kashokope gubhaikengene bhandunji bhannjigelenje mmashila mundu jwa poloka, gubhalinjilenje kunnjinjiya nkati bhampelekanje kwa a Yeshu. 5:18
And a party of men came carrying a palsied man on a bed, and they endeavoured to bring him in and lay him before Jesus.
19 Ikabheje kwa ligongo lya gwinji gwa bhandu, bhangakombolanga kujinjiya nkati. Bhai gubhakwelilenje kushipagala, gubhapenwilenje nigubhantulwiyenje mundu jwa poloka jula na mashila, mpaka pakati pakati ja bhandunji mmujo ja a Yeshu.
But when they could find no way of doing so because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down through the tiling--bed and all--into the midst, in front of Jesus.
20 A Yeshu bhakajibhoneje ngulupai jabhonji, gubhannugulile mundu jula, “Ambwiga nneshelelwe yambi yenu.”
He saw their faith and said to him, "Friend, your sins are forgiven."
21 Mapalishayo na bhaajandika bha shalia gubhatandwibhenje kwiibhuyanga, “Bhenebha ni agani bhakwaakupulu a Nnungubha? Jwakwapi mundu akombola kuleshelela yambi ikabhe a Nnungu jikape!”
Then the Scribes and Pharisees began to cavil, asking, "Who is this, uttering blasphemies? Who but God alone can forgive sins?"
22 Ikabheje a Yeshu gubhaimanyi ng'aniyo yabhonji, gubhaabhushiyenje, “Kwa nndi nnakwiibhuyanga genega mmitima jenunji?
Well aware of their reasonings, Jesus answered their questions by asking in turn, "What is this that you are debating in your hearts?
23 Shei shipepeshe, kubheleketa, ‘Uleshelelwe yambi,’ eu ‘Jima ujende?’
Which is easier? --to say, 'Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, 'Rise and walk'?
24 Bhai pungupinga mmumanyanje kuti Mwana juka Mundu ashipegwa mashili ga leshelela bhandu yambi yabhonji pa shilambolyo.” Penepo gubhammalanjile mundu jwa poloka jula, “Jima tola likai lyako guijendele kumui.”
But to prove to you that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins" --Turning to the paralytic He said, "I bid you, Rise, take up your bed, and go home."
25 Shangupe, mundu jwa poloka jula gwajimi pa meyo gabhonji, gwatolile likai lyakwe, gwapite kumui akuno alikwaakuya a Nnungu.
Instantly he stood up in their presence, took up the mattress on which he had been lying, and went away to his home, giving glory to God.
26 Bhowe gubhakanganigwenje na shijogopele, gubhaakushiyenje a Nnungu, bhalinkutinji, “Lelo tuibhweni ilapo.”
Amazement seized them all. "Glory to God!" was the abiding feeling. Yet fear flashed through their minds and they said, "We have seen strange things to-day."
27 Gakapiteje genego, a Yeshu gubhakopweshe palanga gubhaaweni bhakamula koli bhamo bhashemwaga a Lawi bhatemi nnyumba ja kamulila koli. A Yeshu gubhaabhalanjile, “Nngagule!”
After this He went out and noticed a tax-gatherer, Levi by name, sitting at the Toll office; and He said to him, "Follow me."
28 A Lawi gubhajimi gubhaleshile yowe gubhaakagwile.
He rose, left everything, and followed Him.
29 A Lawi gubhaashemele a Yeshu shalya kunngwabho. Na likundi likulungwa lya bhakamula koli na bhandunji bhana pubhalinginji popo bhatemingenenje nkulya.
Levi also gave a great entertainment at his house in honour of Jesus, and there was a large party of tax-gatherers and others at table with them.
30 Mapalishayo na bhaajiganya bha shalia bhalinginji nkumbi gumo, bhakwaainginishilangaga bhaajiganywa bha a Yeshu bhalinkutinji. “Kwanndi nnalyanganga na papila na bhakamula koli na bhandunji bhakwetenje yambi?”
This led the Pharisees and Scribes of their party to expostulate with His disciples and ask, "Why are you eating and drinking with these tax-gatherers and notorious sinners?"
31 A Yeshu gubhaajangwilenje, “Bhabhakotonji bhakakunnoleyanga mmitela, ikabheje bhakunnoleyanga mmitela bhalwelenji.
But Jesus replied to them, "It is not men in good health who require a physician, but the sick.
32 Nangajiya kukwaloleyanga bhanguja, ikabhe bhakwetenje yambi nkupinga bhaipetanje.”
I have not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners."
33 Bhandunji bhala gubhaalugulilenje a Yeshu, “Bhaajiganywa bha a Yowana Bhabhatisha bhanatabhanga mobhaga na juga, nkali bhaajiganywa bha Mapalishayo pubhatendanga nneyo peyo. Ikabheje bhaajiganywa bhenu mmwe bhanalyanganga na ng'wa.”
Again they said to Him, "John's disciples fast often and pray, as do also those of the pharisees; but yours eat and drink."
34 A Yeshu gubhaajangwilenje, “Bhuli, ashaambwigamundu bhaka nkulomba, bhalipinjikwanga kutabha akuno bhatemingene pamo na nnyene nkulomba?
"Can you compel the bridal party to fast," replied Jesus, "so long as they have the bridegroom among them?
35 Shigaishe mobha, nkulomba shibhanshoyanje pa bhandupo, penepo shibhatabhanje.”
But a time for this will come, when the Bridegroom has been taken away from them: then, at that time, they will fast."
36 A Yeshu gubhaabhalanjilenje aluno lutango luno nkupinga kwaajiganyanga. “Jwakwa mundu apapula shibhamba ngubho ja ambi nitotela munngubho ja bhukala, ibhaga atendaga nneyo shajiangabhanye ja ambijo, na shibhambasho shikatolana na nngubho ja bhukalajo.
He also spoke in figurative language to them. "No one," He said, "tears a piece from a new garment to mend an old one. Otherwise he would not only spoil the new, but the patch from the new would not match the old.
37 Wala jwakwa mundu ataga divai ja ambi mmipatila ja bhukala, pabha divai ja ambijo shijipwengule mipatila ja bhukalajo, mipatila shijipwengushe na divai shijijitishe.
Nor does any one pour new wine into old wine-skins. Otherwise the new wine would burst the skins, the wine itself would be spilt, and the skins be destroyed.
38 Divai ja ambi pataga mmipatila ja ambi.
But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
39 Jwakwa mundu jikunnonyela kung'wa divai ja ambi ang'waga ja bhukala, pabha bhakutinji, ‘Ja bhukala ni ja mmbone kaje.’”
Nor does any one after drinking old wine wish for new; for he says, 'The old is better.'"
