यिर्मया 5

1 १ परमेश्वर म्हणतो, “यरूशलेमच्या रस्त्यावरुन धावा, सभोवती पाहा आणि या गोष्टींचा विचार करा. नगरातील चव्हाटे शोधा. सत्याचा शोध घेणारा आणि न्यायीपणाने चालणारा, असा कोणी एक मनुष्य जरी आढळला, तरी मी यरूशलेमेची क्षमा करीन.

"Run back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places of it, if you can find a man, if there are any who does justly, who seeks truth; and I will pardon her.

2 २ परमेश्वर जिवंत आहे, जरी ते असे म्हणतात ती ते खोटी शपथ वाहत आहेत.”

Though they say, 'As the LORD lives;' surely they swear falsely."

3 ३ हे परमेश्वरा, तुझे डोळे सत्याकडे पाहत नाहीत काय? तू लोकांस मारलेस पण त्यांना वेदना झाल्या नाहीत. तू त्यांना पूर्णपणे पराभूत केले, तरी त्यांनी शिक्षा घेण्याचे नकारले. त्यांनी आपले मुख खडकांपेक्षा कठीण केले आहे, कारण त्यांनी पश्चातप करण्याचे नकारले आहे.

O LORD, do your eyes not look on truth? You have stricken them, but they were not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than a rock. They have refused to return.

4 ४ तेव्हा मी म्हणालो, “खचित ते गरिब आहेत. ते मूर्ख आहेत, कारण त्यांना परमेश्वराचा मार्ग व आपल्या देवाचा नियम माहीत नाही.

Then I said, "Surely these are poor. They are foolish; for they do not know the way of the LORD, nor the law of their God.

5 ५ म्हणून मी महत्वाच्या लोकांकडे जाऊन त्यांना देवाचा संराष्ट्र घोषीत करीन. कारण त्यांना कमीत कमी परमेश्वराचा आपल्या देवाचा नियम तर माहीत आहे.” पण त्यांनी तर एकमताने जू मोडले आहे आणि तो साखळदंड तोडला आहे जो त्यांना देवासोबत बांधून होता.

I will go to the great men, and will speak to them; for they know the way of the LORD, and the law of their God." But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

6 ६ म्हणून गर्द झाडीतून सिंह त्यांच्यावर हल्ला करेल, जंगलातील लांडगा त्यांना ठार मारील. चित्ता त्यांच्या शहराविरूद्ध येईल. जो कोणी शहरातून बाहेर जाईल तो फाडण्यात येईल. कारण त्यांची पापे बहूतपट झालीत, आणि त्यांचे अविश्वासू कृत्ये फार झाली आहेत.

Therefore a lion out of the forest shall kill them, a wolf of the evenings shall destroy them, a leopard shall watch against their cities; everyone who goes out there shall be torn in pieces; because their transgressions are many, and their backsliding is increased.

7 ७ मी या लोकांस का क्षमा करावी? तुझ्या मुलांनी माझा त्याग केला आणि त्यांनी जे देव नाही त्यांच्या शपथा वाहिल्या. मी त्यांना भरपूर खाऊ घातले, परंतू त्यांनी व्यभिचार केला आणि वारांगनेच्या घराचा मार्ग पकडला.

"How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me, and sworn by what are no gods. When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the prostitutes' houses.

8 ८ भरपूर खाद्य खाणाऱ्या व समागमाला तयार असणाऱ्या घोड्यांप्रमाणे ते मोकाट फिरत होते. प्रत्येक पुरुष त्याच्या शेजाऱ्याच्या पत्नीसाठी किंकाळला.

They were as fed horses roaming at large: everyone neighed after his neighbor's wife.

9 ९ तेव्हा मी त्यांना शिक्षा नाही करावी काय? असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो, असल्या राष्ट्रांविषयी माझ्या अंत: करणात सूड उमटू नये का?

Shouldn't I punish them for these things?" says the LORD; "and shouldn't my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

10 १० तिच्या द्राक्षवेलींच्या माळीवर चढून जा आणि नाश कर, परंतू त्यांचा संपूर्ण नाश करु नकोस. तिच्या द्राक्षवेलीची काटछाट कर, कारण ती द्राक्षवेल परमेश्वराकडून नाही.

"Go up on her walls, and destroy; but do not make a full end. Take away her branches; for they are not the LORD's.

11 ११ कारण यहूदा व इस्राएल घराण्याने माझा फार विश्वासघात केला आहे, असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.

For the house of Israel and the house of Judah have dealt very treacherously against me," says the LORD.

12 १२ त्यांनी मला नाकार दिला, ते म्हणाले; “तो खरा नाही, अरीष्ट आम्हांवर नाही येणार, किंवा आम्ही तलवार व दुष्काळ पाहणार नाही.

They have denied the LORD, and said, "It is not he; neither shall evil come on us; neither shall we see sword nor famine.

13 १३ संदेष्टे हे पोकळ वाऱ्या प्रमाणे होतील आणि परमेश्वराचे वचन आम्हांला घोषीत करायला कोणीच नाही. त्यांच्या धमक्या त्यांच्यावरच येवो.”

The prophets shall become wind, and the word is not in them. Thus shall it be done to them."

14 १४ यास्तव सेनाधीश परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, “तू हे बोलला याकारणास्तव पाहा, मी जे शब्द तुझ्या मुखात घालत आहे, ते आगीप्रमाणे असतील आणि हे लोक लाकडाप्रमाणे असतील. कारण ती आग त्यांना खाऊन टाकील.

Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, "Because you speak this word, look, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.

15 १५ पाहा! परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, हे इस्राएलाच्या घराण्या, मी दूरुन एक राष्ट्र आणतो, ते शक्तीशाली राष्ट्र आहे. ते प्राचीन राष्ट्र आहे. त्या राष्ट्रांतील भाषा तुला माहीत नाहीत. किंवा ते काय बोलतात ते तू समजू शकणार नाही.

Look, I will bring a nation on you from far, house of Israel," says the LORD. "It is a mighty nation. It is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you do not know, neither understand what they say.

16 १६ त्यांचे भाते उघड्या थडग्यांप्रमाणे आहेत. ते सर्व सैनिक आहेत.

Their quiver is an open tomb, they are all mighty men.

17 १७ तुझे पीक व तुझी भाकर जी तुझ्या मुलांना व तुझ्या मुलींनी खावी ती ते खाऊन टाकतील, ते तुझी मेंढरे व तुझी गुरे ते खाऊन टाकतील. ते तुझी द्राक्षेवली आणि अंजीर झाडे खाऊन टाकतील. त्यांच्या तलवारीच्या जोरावर ते तुमच्या मजबूत शहरांचा नाश करतील, ज्याच्यावर तुम्ही विसंबून होता.”

They shall eat up your harvest, and your bread, which your sons and your daughters should eat. They shall eat up your flocks and your herds. They shall eat up your vines and your fig trees. They shall beat down your fortified cities, in which you trust, with the sword.

18 १८ “पण तरीही त्या दिवसात मी तुमचा पूर्णपणे शेवट करणार नाही. असे परमेश्वर म्हणतो.

"But even in those days," says the LORD, "I will not make a full end with you.

19 १९ हे असे घडणार, जेव्हा तू, इस्राएल आणि यहूदा असे म्हणेल की, आपल्या परमेश्वर देवाने आम्हासोबत या सर्व गोष्टी का केल्या? तेव्हा यिर्मया तू त्यांना असे म्हण, ‘ज्याप्रकारे तुम्ही परमेश्वरास सोडून आपल्या देशात परक्या देवांची सेवा केली, त्याचप्रकारे जो राष्ट्र तुमचा नाही त्यामध्ये तुम्ही परक्यांची सेवा कराल.”

It will happen, when you say, 'Why has the LORD our God done all these things to us?' Then you shall say to them, 'Thus says the LORD, Just like you have forsaken me, and served foreign gods in your land, so you shall serve strangers in a land that is not yours.'

20 २० याकोबाच्या घराण्याला ही वार्ता कळव आणि यहूदाला हे ऐकू दे.

"Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,

21 २१ मूर्ख लोकांनो, जे तुम्हास डोळे असून पाहत नाही व कान असून ऐकत नाही ते तुम्ही हे ऐका.

'Hear now this, foolish people, and without understanding; who have eyes, and do not see; who have ears, and do not hear:

22 २२ परमेश्वर म्हणतो, तुम्ही भीत नाही काय? किंवा माझ्यापुढे तुम्ही भीतीने थरथर कापत नाही काय? मी सनातन नियमाने समुद्राच्याविरूद्ध वाळूची सीमा घातली आहे, जेणेकरून त्याने उल्लंघन करू नये. जरी समुद्र उठतो आणि खाली पडतो, तरी त्याच्याने उल्लंघवत नाही. जरी त्याच्या लाटा गर्जतात, तरी त्या ओलांडून जात नाही.

Do you not fear me?' says the LORD 'Won't you tremble at my presence, who have placed the sand for the bound of the sea, by a perpetual decree, that it can't pass it? And though its waves toss themselves, yet they can't prevail; though they roar, yet they can't pass over it.'

23 २३ पण हे लोक दुराग्रही हृदयाचे आहेत, जे बंडखोर होऊन दूर गेले आहे.

"But this people has a revolting and a rebellious heart; they have revolted and gone.

24 २४ यहूदातील लोक आपल्या हृदयात म्हणत नाहीत, परमेश्वर आपला देव, जो योग्य वेळेला आगोटीचा व वळवाचा पाऊस पाडतो. आणि आमच्याकरता नेमलेले आठवडे राखतो, त्याचे भय आपण धरू या.

Neither do they say in their heart, 'Let us now fear the LORD our God, who gives rain, both the former and the latter, in its season; who preserves to us the appointed weeks of the harvest.'

25 २५ तुमच्या अन्यायाने या गोष्टी तुमच्यापासून राखून ठेवल्या आहेत. तुमच्या पापांनी तुम्हापासून चांगले ते आवरून धरले आहे.

"Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good from you.

26 २६ कारण माझ्या लोकात काही दुष्ट मनुष्य आढळतात. दबा धरणाऱ्या फासेपारध्यांप्रमाणे ते एखद्यावर नजर ठेवतात. ते जाळे पसरतात आणि लोकांस पकडतात.

For among my people are found wicked men. They watch, as fowlers lie in wait. They set a trap. They catch men.

27 २७ पक्ष्यांनी पिंजरे भरावेत तशी ह्यांची घरे कपटांनी भरलेली आहेत. म्हणून ते श्रीमंत व मोठे झाले आहेत.

As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit. Therefore they have become great, and grew rich.

28 २८ ते पुष्ट झाले आहेत, स्वस्थ मनुष्यासारखे ते चकाकतात. त्यांनी दुष्टपणाची सर्व बंधने पार केली आहेत. ते लोकांच्या आणि अनाथांच्या विनंतींना समर्थन करत नाहीत. त्यांची भरभराट झाली आहे परंतू ते गरीबांचा न्याय न्यायीपणाने करत नाही.

They have grown fat. They shine; yes, they excel in deeds of wickedness. They do not plead the cause, the cause of the fatherless, that they may prosper; and they do not judge the right of the needy.

29 २९ परमेश्वर असे म्हणतो, या गोष्टींमुळे मी त्यांना शिक्षा नाही करावी का? “अशा राष्ट्रांवर मी माझा सूड नाही उगवणार का?

"Shall I not punish for these things?" says the LORD. "Shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this?

30 ३० देशात अत्याचार व भयानक घटना घडल्या आहेत.

"An astonishing and horrible thing has happened in the land.

31 ३१ भविष्यवादी खोटेपणाने भविष्य सांगतात, आणि याजक त्यांच्या शक्तीने अधिकार गाजवतात. ते काम ते करणार नाहीत. आणि माझ्या लोकांस हे प्रिय आहे! पण शेवटी काय होणार?”

The prophets prophesy falsely, and the cohanim rule by their own authority; and my people love to have it so. What will you do in the end of it?
