1 १ यहोयादाने सातव्या वर्षांनंतर आपले सामर्थ्य दाखवले. त्याने यरोहामाचा पुत्र अजऱ्या यहोहानानाचा पुत्र इश्माएल, ओबेदचा पुत्र अजऱ्या, अदायाचा पुत्र मासेया आणि जिख्रीचा पुत्र अलीशाफाट या मुख्य अधिकाऱ्यांशी करार केला.

16 १६ यहोयादाने मग सर्व लोक आणि राजा यांच्याबरोबर एक करार केला. आपण सर्व परमेश्वराचे लोक आहोत असा तो करार होता.

19 १९ कोणीही अशुद्धतेने मंदिराच्या आत येवू नये, म्हणून यहोयादाने परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराच्या प्रवेशद्वाराशीच द्वारपाल नेमले
and to stand: stand [the] gatekeeper upon gate house: temple LORD and not to come (in): come unclean to/for all word: thing
20 २० सर्व सैन्याधिकारी, लोकनायक, सरदार आणि सर्व प्रजा यांना यहोयादाने आपल्याबरोबर घेतले. मग त्याने राजाला परमेश्वराच्या मंदिराबाहेर काढले. तिथून वरच्या वेशीतून ते राजमहालात पोचले. तेथे त्यांनी राजाला सिंहासनावर बसवले.

21 २१ अथल्याचा तलवारीने वध झाला त्यानंतर यहूदातील लोकांमध्ये आनंदी आनंद पसरला आणि यरूशलेम नगर शांत झाले.
