1 शमुवेल 7

1 १ मग किर्याथ-यारीमाची माणसे आली, आणि त्यांनी परमेश्वराचा कोश नेला, आणि तो टेकडीवर अबीनादाबाच्या घरात आणून ठेवला. त्यांनी त्याचा मुलगा एलाजार याला परमेश्वराचा कोश राखायला पवित्र केले.

The men of Kiriath Jearim came and took up the ark of the LORD and brought it into the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

2 २ कोश किर्याथ-यारीमात येऊन राहिला त्या दिवसापासून, बहुत काळ लोटला, म्हणजे वीस वर्षे झाली. इस्राएलाच्या सर्व घराण्याने शोक केला आणि परमेश्वराकडे वळण्याची इच्छा केली.

It happened, from the day that the ark stayed in Kiriath Jearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.

3 ३ शमुवेल इस्राएलाच्या सर्व घराण्याशी बोलला तो म्हणाला, “जर तुम्ही आपल्या सर्व मनाने परमेश्वराकडे परत वळता, तर आपणापासून परके देव आणि अष्टारोथ दूर करा, तुम्ही आपली मने परमेश्वराकडे लावा, आणि केवळ त्याचीच सेवा करा, म्हणजे तो तुम्हास पलिष्ट्यांच्या हातून सोडवील.”

Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you do return to the LORD with all your heart, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtaroth from among you, and direct your hearts to the LORD, and serve him only; and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines."

4 ४ मग इस्राएली लोकांनी बआल व अष्टारोथ काढून टाकले, आणि केवळ परमेश्वराचीच आराधना करू लागले.

Then the children of Israel removed the Baals and the Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

5 ५ आणि शमुवेल म्हणाला, “सर्व इस्राएलांस मिस्पा येथे एकवट करा, म्हणजे मी तुम्हासाठी परमेश्वरास विनंती करीन.”

Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray for you to the LORD."

6 ६ मग ते मिस्पात जमले आणि त्यांनी पाणी काढून परमेश्वराच्या समोर ओतले. त्या दिवशी त्यांनी उपास केला आणि म्हटले, “आम्ही परमेश्वराच्या विरूद्ध पाप केले आहे.” तेव्हा शमुवेलाने तेथे इस्राएली लोकांचे वादविवाद मिटवले आणि लोकांचे मार्गदर्शन केले.

They gathered together to Mizpah, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, "We have sinned against the LORD." Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpah.

7 ७ आता इस्राएलाची लोक मिस्पांत जमले आहेत असे पलिष्यांनी ऐकले, तेव्हा पलिष्टयांचे अधिकारी इस्राएलावर चढाई करून आले. इस्राएल लोकांनी जेव्हा हे ऐकले, तेव्हा ते पलिष्ट्यांना घाबरले.

When the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together at Mizpah, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. When the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

8 ८ नंतर इस्राएली लोक शमुवेलाला म्हणाले, “आमचा देव परमेश्वर याने आम्हास पलिष्ट्यांच्या हातून सोडवावे म्हणून त्याकडे आम्हासाठी धावा करण्याचे थांबवू नका.”

The children of Israel said to Samuel, "Do not cease to cry to the LORD your God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines."

9 ९ मग शमुवेलाने एक दूध पिणारे कोकरू घेऊन त्याचे संपूर्ण होमार्पण परमेश्वरास केले; आणि शमुवेलाने इस्राएलासाठी परमेश्वराचा धावा केला आणि तेव्हा परमेश्वराने त्यास उत्तर दिले.

Samuel took a suckling lamb, and offered it for a whole burnt offering to the LORD: and Samuel cried to the LORD for Israel; and the LORD answered him.

10 १० आणि शमुवेल होमार्पण अर्पण करत होता, तेव्हा पलिष्टी इस्राएलाशी लढायला जवळ आले; परंतु त्यादिवशी परमेश्वराने पलिष्ट्याविरूद्ध मोठ्या आवाजात गडगडाट करून त्यास घाबरे केले व गोंधळात टाकले आणि इस्राएलापुढे त्यांचा पराभव झाला.

As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel; but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day on the Philistines, and confused them; and they were struck down before Israel.

11 ११ तेव्हा इस्राएलाची माणसे मिस्पातून निघून पलिष्ट्यांच्या पाठीस लागली आणि बेथ-कारापर्यंत त्यांना मारीत गेली.

The men of Israel went out of Mizpah, and pursued the Philistines, and struck them, as far as below Beth Kar.

12 १२ मग शमुवेलाने एक दगड घेतला आणि मिस्पा व शेन याच्या दरम्यान तो उभा केला आणि त्यास एबन-एजर असे नाव देऊन म्हटले, “येथपर्यंत परमेश्वराने आमचे साहाय्य केले आहे.”

Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpah and Jashan, and called its name Ebenezer, saying, "The LORD helped us until now."

13 १३ असे पलिष्टी पराभूत झाले आणि ते इस्राएलाच्या सीमेत आणखी आले नाहीत. शमुवेलाच्या सर्व दिवसात परमेश्वराचा हात पलिष्ट्यांच्या विरूद्ध होता.

So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more within the territory of Israel. The hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

14 १४ आणि एक्रोनापासून गथपर्यंत, जी नगरे पलिष्ट्यांनी इस्राएलापासून घेतली होती ती इस्राएलास परत मिळाली; आणि त्यांचा प्रदेश इस्राएलाने पलिष्ट्यांच्या हातातून परत घेतला. त्यानंतर इस्राएल व अमोरी यांच्यामध्ये शांतता होती.

The cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even to Gath; and Israel recovered its territory out of the hand of the Philistines. There was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

15 १५ शमुवेलाने आपल्या आयुष्याच्या सर्व दिवसात इस्राएलाचा न्याय केला.

Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

16 १६ तो प्रत्येक वर्षी बेथेलास, गिलगालास, व मिस्पात अनुक्रमाने जाई. आणि त्या सर्व ठिकाणी इस्राएलाचा न्याय करी.

He went from year to year in circuit to Bethel and Gilgal, and Mizpah; and he judged Israel in all those places.

17 १७ आणि रामा येथे तो परत माघारी येत असे, कारण तेथे त्याचे घर होते आणि तेथे सुध्दा त्याने इस्राएलाचे वादविवाद मिटवण्याचे काम केले. तेथे त्याने परमेश्वरास अर्पणे अर्पायला वेदी बांधली.

His return was to Ramah, for there was his house; and there he judged Israel: and he built there an altar to the LORD.
