1 Ko te tangata he maha nei nga riringa i tona he, a ka whakapakeke i tona kaki, ka whatiia ohoreretia ia; te taea te rongoa.
Sodeyn perischyng schal come on that man, that with hard nol dispisith a blamere; and helth schal not sue hym.
2 Ka whakanuia te hunga tika, ka koa te iwi; ka kingi te tangata kino, ka aue te iwi.
The comynalte schal be glad in the multipliyng of iust men; whanne wickid men han take prinshod, the puple schal weyle.
3 Ko te tangata e matenui ana ki te whakaaro nui e whakahari ana i tona papa; ko te tangata ia e piri ana ki nga wahine kairau, he maumau taonga tana.
A man that loueth wisdom, makith glad his fadir; but he that nurschith `an hoore, schal leese catel.
4 Ma te whakawa a te kingi e mau ai te whenua; ka whakataka ia e te tangata e tango ana i nga mea homai noa.
A iust king reisith the lond; an auerouse man schal distrie it.
5 Ko te tangata e whakapati ana ki tona hoa, e whakatakoto kupenga ana mo ona waewae.
A man that spekith bi flaterynge and feyned wordis to his frend; spredith abrood a net to hise steppis.
6 He rore kei roto i te he o te tangata kino; ko te tangata tika ia he waiata tana, he koa.
A snare schal wlappe a wickid man doynge synne; and a iust man schal preise, and schal make ioye.

A iust man knowith the cause of pore men; an vnpitouse man knowith not kunnyng.

Men ful of pestilence distryen a citee; but wise men turnen awei woodnesse.

If a kyng demeth pore men in treuthe; his trone schal be maad stidfast with outen ende.
15 Ko te whiu, ko te riri i te he, he mea homai era i te whakaaro nui: tena ko te tamaiti mahue noa, ka whakama i a ia tona whaea.
A yerde and chastisyng schal yyue wisdom; but a child, which is left to his wille, schendith his modir.

Grete trespassis schulen be multiplied in the multipliyng of wickid men; and iust men schulen se the fallyngis of hem.

Teche thi sone, and he schal coumforte thee; and he schal yyue delicis to thi soule.
18 Ki te kahore he whakakitenga, ka kore te iwi e tupato: ko te kaipupuri ia i te ture, ka hari ia.
Whanne prophesie faylith, the puple schal be distried; but he that kepith the lawe, is blessid.
19 Ehara te kupu i te papaki mo te pononga: ahakoa hoki ia matau, e kore ia e rongo.
A seruaunt mai not be tauyt bi wordis; for he vndirstondith that that thou seist, and dispisith for to answere.
20 Ka kite ranei koe i te tangata kaika ki te korero? engari te wairangi ka totika ake i a ia.
Thou hast seyn a man swift to speke; foli schal be hopid more than his amendyng.
21 Ko te tangata e penapena ana i tana pononga mai o te tamarikitanga, ka waiho ia e ia i te mutunga hei tama tupu.
He that nurschith his seruaunt delicatli fro childhod; schal fynde hym rebel aftirward.
22 He whakaoho whawhai ta te tangata pukuriri: he nui rawa hoki te he o te tangata aritarite.
A wrathful man territh chidingis; and he that is liyt to haue indignacioun, schal be more enclynaunt to synnes.
23 Ka whakaititia iho te tangata e tona whakapehapeha: ka whai honore ia te tangata ngakau papaku.
Lownesse sueth a proude man; and glorie schal vp take a meke man of spirit.
24 Ko te tangata e whakauru ana ki ta te tahae, e kino ana ki tona ake wairua: e rongo ana ia i te kanga, kahore e kiki.
He that takith part with a theef, hatith his soule; he herith a man chargynge greetli, and schewith not.
25 He rore e homai ana e te wehi ki te tangata: ko te tangata ia e whakawhirinaki ana ki a Ihowa ka mawhiti.
He that dredith a man, schal falle soon; he that hopith in the Lord, shal be reisid.
26 He tokomaha e whai ana kia paingia e te rangatira: otiia i ahu mai i a Ihowa te whakawa mo te tangata.
Many men seken the face of the prince; and the doom of alle men schal go forth of the Lord.
27 He mea whakarihariha ki te hunga tika te tangata whakahaere he; a he mea whakarihariha hoki ki te tangata kino te tangata he tika tona ara.
Iust men han abhomynacioun of a wickid man; and wickid men han abhomynacioun of hem, that ben in a riytful weye. A sone kepynge a word, schal be out of perdicioun.
