ലൂക്കോസ് 4
1 ൧ യേശുവിന്റെ സ്നാനത്തിന് ശേഷം പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് നിറഞ്ഞവനായി യോർദ്ദാൻ വിട്ടു മടങ്ങി; ആത്മാവ് അവനെ മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് നടത്തി; എന്നാൽ പിശാച് അവനെ നാല്പതു ദിവസം പരീക്ഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
Then Jesus, being full of the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan River, and was led by the Spirit in the wilderness,
where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of that time he was hungry.
The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.”
4 ൪ യേശു അവനോട്: മനുഷ്യൻ അപ്പംകൊണ്ട് മാത്രമല്ല ജീവിക്കുന്നത് എന്നു തിരുവചനത്തിൽഎഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Jesus answered him, “It is written, 'Man does not live on bread alone.'”
5 ൫ പിന്നെ പിശാച് അവനെ ഉയർന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തേയ്ക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോയി ലോകത്തിലെ സകല രാജ്യങ്ങളെയും ഒരു നിമിഷം കൊണ്ട് അവനെ കാണിച്ചു:
Then the devil led Jesus up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in an instant of time.
6 ൬ ഈ അധികാരം ഒക്കെയും അതിന്റെ മഹത്വവും നിനക്ക് തരാം; അത് എന്നെ ഏല്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; എനിക്ക് താത്പര്യം ഉള്ളവർക്ക് ഞാൻ ഇതു കൊടുക്കുന്നു.
The devil said to him, “I will give to you all this authority and all their splendor, for they have been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want.
So then, if you will bow down and worship me, it will be yours.”
8 ൮ യേശു അവനോട്: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു അവനെ മാത്രമേ ആരാധിക്കാവൂ എന്നു തിരുവചനത്തിൽഎഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
But Jesus answered and said to him, “It is written, 'You will worship the Lord your God, and you will serve only him.'”
9 ൯ പിന്നെ അവൻ യേശുവിനെ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ട് പോയി ദൈവാലയത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരം കൂടിയ സ്ഥാനത്ത് നിർത്തി അവനോട്: നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ എങ്കിൽ ഇവിടെ നിന്നു താഴോട്ടു ചാടുക.
Then the devil led Jesus to Jerusalem and put him on the very highest point of the temple building, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down from here.
For it is written, 'He will give orders to his angels regarding you, to protect you,'
11 ൧൧ നിന്റെ കാൽ കല്ലിനോട് തട്ടാതെ അവർ നിന്നെ കയ്യിൽ താങ്ങിക്കൊള്ളുകയും ചെയ്യും” എന്ന് തിരുവചനത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
and, 'They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.'”
12 ൧൨ യേശു അവനോട്: നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ കർത്താവിനെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുത് എന്നും തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽഎഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Answering him, Jesus said, “It is said, 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test.'”
When the devil had finished testing Jesus, he went away and left him until another time.
14 ൧൪ യേശു ആത്മാവിന്റെ ശക്തിയോടെ ഗലീലയ്ക്കു് തിരികെ പോയി; അവനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാർത്ത ചുറ്റുമുള്ള നാട്ടിൽ ഒക്കെയും പ്രസിദ്ധമായി.
Then Jesus returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit, and news about him spread throughout the entire surrounding region.
Then he began to teach in their synagogues and he was praised by all.
16 ൧൬ അങ്ങനെ അവൻ വളർന്ന നസറെത്തിൽ വന്നു: ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തന്റെ പതിവുപോലെ പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്ന് വായിക്കുവാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു.
He came into Nazareth, where he had been raised, and as was his custom, he entered the synagogue on the Sabbath day and he stood up to read aloud.
The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. He opened the scroll and found the place where it was written,
18 ൧൮ “ദരിദ്രരോട് സുവിശേഷം അറിയിക്കുവാൻ കർത്താവ് എന്നെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തിരിക്കയാൽ അവന്റെ ആത്മാവ് എന്റെ മേൽ ഉണ്ട്; തടവുകാ‍ർക്ക് വിടുതലും, അന്ധർക്ക് കാഴ്ചയും നൽകുമെന്ന് പ്രസംഗിക്കുവാനും, മർദ്ദിതരെ വിടുവിച്ചയയ്ക്കുവാനും,
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he anointed me to tell good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are oppressed,
19 ൧൯ ജനങ്ങളോട് കാരുണ്യം കാട്ടുവാൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ വർഷം എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പ്രസംഗിക്കുവാനും എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലം കണ്ട്.
to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor.”
20 ൨൦ പിന്നെ അവൻ പുസ്തകം മടക്കി ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരന് തിരികെ കൊടുത്തിട്ട് ഇരുന്നു; പള്ളിയിലുള്ള എല്ലാവരും യേശുവിനെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him.
21 ൨൧ അവൻ അവരോട്: ഇന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കുന്നത് കൊണ്ട് ഈ തിരുവെഴുത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നത് പോലെ സംഭവിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.
He began to speak to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”
22 ൨൨ എല്ലാവരും അവനെ പുകഴ്ത്തി, അവന്റെ വായിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ട ലാവണ്യ വാക്കുകൾനിമിത്തം ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു; ഇവൻ യോസഫിന്റെ മകൻ അല്ലയോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Everyone there spoke well of him and they were amazed at the gracious words which were coming out of his mouth, and they asked, “Is this not the son of Joseph?”
23 ൨൩ യേശു അവരോട്: വൈദ്യാ, നിന്നെത്തന്നെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കുക എന്നുള്ള പഴഞ്ചൊല്ല് പോലെ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെയ്തത് എല്ലാം ഈ നിന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നഗരത്തിലും ചെയ്ക എന്നും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോട് പറയും നിശ്ചയം.
He said to them, “Surely you will say this proverb to me, 'Doctor, heal yourself. Whatever we heard that you did in Capernaum, do the same in your hometown.'”
24 ൨൪ ഒരു പ്രവാചകനെയും തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ നഗരം സ്വീകരിക്കുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ട് നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But he said, “Truly I say to you, no prophet is received in his own hometown.
25 ൨൫ ഏലിയാവിന്റെ കാലത്ത് മൂന്നു ആണ്ടും ആറ് മാസവും മഴയില്ലാതെ ദേശത്തു എങ്ങും മഹാക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായപ്പോൾ യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല വിധവമാർ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ യഥാർത്ഥമായി നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
But in truth I tell you that there were many widows in Israel during the time of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, and a great famine came upon all the land.
26 ൨൬ എന്നാൽ സീദോനിലെ സരെപ്തയിൽ ഉള്ള ഒരു വിധവയുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കല്ലാതെ അവരിൽ ആരുടെയും അടുക്കലേക്ക് ഏലിയാവിനെ അയച്ചില്ല.
But Elijah was sent to none of them, but only to Zarephath in Sidon, to a widow living there.
27 ൨൭ അതുപോലെ എലീശാപ്രവാചകന്റെ കാലത്ത് യിസ്രായേലിൽ പല കുഷ്ഠരോഗികൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. സിറിയക്കാരനായ നയമാൻ അല്ലാതെ വേറെ ആരും ശുദ്ധമായില്ല എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
There were many lepers in Israel during the time of Elisha the prophet, but none of them were healed except Naaman the Syrian.”
All the people in the synagogue were filled with rage when they heard these things.
29 ൨൯ അവനെ പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്നു വെളിയിലാക്കി അവരുടെ പട്ടണം പണിതിരുന്ന മലയുടെ അറ്റത്ത് കൊണ്ടുപോയി തലകീഴായി തള്ളിയിടാം എന്നു വിചാരിച്ചു.
They got up, forced him out of the town, and led him to the cliff of the hill on which their town was built, so they might throw him off the cliff.
But he passed through the middle of them and he went to another place.
31 ൩൧ പിന്നീട് അവൻ ഗലീലയിലെ ഒരു പട്ടണമായ കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ ചെന്ന്. ഒരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവരെ ഉപദേശിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
Then he went down to Capernaum, a city in Galilee, and he began to teach them on the Sabbath.
They were astonished at his teaching, because he spoke with authority.
Now in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice,
34 ൩൪ അവൻ നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, നീ ഞങ്ങളുടെ കാര്യത്തിൽ ഇടപെടുന്നത് എന്തിനാണ്? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കുവാനാണോ നീ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്! നീ ആർ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നേ എന്നു ഉറക്കെ നിലവിളിച്ചു.
“Ah! What do we have to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God!”
35 ൩൫ മിണ്ടരുത്; അവനെ വിട്ടുപോക എന്നു യേശു അതിനെ ശാസിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഭൂതം അവനെ നടുവിൽ തള്ളിയിട്ട് ഒരു ഉപദ്രവവും വരുത്താതെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
Jesus rebuked the demon, saying, “Do not speak! Come out of him!” When the demon had thrown the man down in the middle of them, he came out of him, and did not harm him in any way.
36 ൩൬ എല്ലാവരും ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ട്: ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ എത്ര അത്ഭുതകരം ആണ്. അവൻ അധികാരത്തോടും ശക്തിയോടുംകൂടെ അശുദ്ധാത്മാക്കളോട് കല്പിക്കുന്നു; അവ ഇറങ്ങിപ്പോകുന്നു എന്നു തമ്മിൽ പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
All the people were very amazed, and they kept talking about it with one another. They said, “What kind of words are these? He commands the unclean spirits with authority and power and they come out.”
So news about him began to spread into every part of the surrounding region.
38 ൩൮ അവൻ പള്ളിയിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങി ശിമോന്റെ വീട്ടിൽചെന്ന്. ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മാവിയമ്മ കഠിനമായ പനി കൊണ്ട് ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിയിരിക്കുക ആയിരുന്നു. അവർ അവളെ സഹായിക്കണം എന്നു യേശുവിനോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
Then Jesus left the synagogue and entered into the house of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering with a high fever, and they pleaded with him on her behalf.
39 ൩൯ അവൻ അവളെ കുനിഞ്ഞുനോക്കി, പനി വിട്ടു പോകാൻ ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു; അത് അവളെ വിട്ടുമാറി; അവൾ ഉടനെ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അവന് ശുശ്രൂഷചെയ്തു.
So he stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. Immediately she got up and started serving them.
40 ൪൦ സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിക്കുമ്പോൾ പലതരം അസുഖം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നവരെ എല്ലാം അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; അവൻ അവരുടെ മേൽ കൈവച്ചു അവരെ സൌഖ്യമാക്കി.
When the sun was setting, people brought to Jesus everyone who was sick with various kinds of diseases. He laid his hands on every one of them and healed them.
41 ൪൧ പലരിൽനിന്നും ഭൂതങ്ങൾ; നീ ദൈവപുത്രനായ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു നിലവിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ട് ഇറങ്ങി പോയി; താൻ ക്രിസ്തു എന്നു അവ അറിയുകകൊണ്ട് മിണ്ടുവാൻ അവൻ സമ്മതിക്കാതെ അവയെ ശാസിച്ചു.
Demons also came out from many of them, crying out and saying, “You are the Son of God!” Jesus rebuked the demons and would not let them speak, because they knew that he was the Christ.
42 ൪൨ പ്രഭാതമായപ്പോൾ അവൻ ആരും ഇല്ലാത്ത ഒരു സ്ഥലത്തേയ്ക്ക് പോയി. പുരുഷാരം അവനെ അന്വേഷിച്ച് അവന്റെ അരികത്തുവന്ന് തങ്ങളെ വിട്ടു പോകാതിരിക്കുവാൻ അവനെ തടഞ്ഞു.
When daybreak came, he went out into a solitary place. Crowds of people were looking for him and came to the place where he was. They tried to keep him from going away from them.
43 ൪൩ യേശു അവരോട്: ഞാൻ മറ്റുള്ള പട്ടണങ്ങളിലും ദൈവരാജ്യം സുവിശേഷിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; ഇതിനു വേണ്ടിയാണ് എന്നെ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But he said to them, “I must also preach the good news about the kingdom of God to many other cities, because this is the reason I was sent here.”
Then he continued to preach in the synagogues throughout Judea.
