ലൂക്കോസ് 15
Now tax collectors and sinners were drawing near to him, so that they might listen to him.
2 ൨ ഇവൻ പാപികളെ സ്വീകരിക്കുകയും അവരോടുകൂടി ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പരീശരും ശാസ്ത്രികളും പിറുപിറുത്തു.
And the Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, “This one accepts sinners and eats with them.”
And he told this parable to them, saying:
4 ൪ നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരു ആൾക്ക് നൂറു ആട് ഉണ്ട് എന്നു വിചാരിക്കുക. അതിൽ ഒന്ന് കാണാതെ പോയാൽ അവൻ തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പതിനെയും മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിട്ടേച്ചു, ആ കാണാതെപോയ ആടിനെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതുവരെ നോക്കി നടക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?
“What man among you, who has one hundred sheep, and if he will have lost one of them, would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the one whom he had lost, until he finds it?
5 ൫ കണ്ട് കിട്ടിയാൽ സന്തോഷിച്ച് ചുമലിൽ എടുത്തു വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെയും അയൽക്കാരെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി:
And when he has found it, he places it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
And returning home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them: ‘Congratulate me! For I have found my sheep, which had been lost.’
7 ൭ അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ മാനസാന്തരം ആവശ്യമില്ലാത്ത തൊണ്ണൂറ്റൊമ്പത് നീതിമാന്മാരെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ളതിനേക്കാൾ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പാപിയെ കുറിച്ച് സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ അധികം സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
I say to you, that there will be so much more joy in heaven over one sinner repenting, than over the ninety-nine just, who do not need to repent.
8 ൮ അല്ല, ഒരു സ്ത്രീക്ക് പത്തു ദ്രഹ്മഉണ്ട് എന്നു വിചാരിക്കുക; ഒരു ദ്രഹ്മ കാണാതെ പോയാൽ അവൾ വിളക്കു കത്തിച്ച് വീട് തൂത്തുവാരി അത് കണ്ടുകിട്ടുന്നതുവരെ സൂക്ഷ്മത്തോടെ അന്വേഷിക്കും?
Or what woman, having ten drachmas, if she will have lost one drachma, would not light a candle, and sweep the house, and diligently search until she finds it?
9 ൯ കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയാൽ സ്നേഹിതമാരെയും അയൽക്കാരികളെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി: കാണാതെപോയ ദ്രഹ്മ കണ്ട് കിട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ട് എന്നോടുകൂടെ സന്തോഷിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറയും.
And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying: ‘Rejoice with me! For I have found the drachma, which I had lost.’
10 ൧൦ അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു പാപിയെക്കുറിച്ചു ദൈവദൂതന്മാരുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ സന്തോഷം ഉണ്ടാകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
So I say to you, there will be joy before the Angels of God over even one sinner who is repentant.”
And he said: “A certain man had two sons.
12 ൧൨ അവരിൽ ഇളയവൻ അപ്പനോട്: അപ്പാ, വസ്തുവിൽ എനിക്കുള്ള പങ്ക് തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവൻ അവർക്ക് വസ്തു പകുത്തുകൊടുത്തു.
And the younger of them said to the father, ‘Father, give me the portion of your estate which would go to me.’ And he divided the estate between them.
13 ൧൩ അധികനാൾ കഴിയുന്നതിന് മുമ്പെ ഇളയമകൻ സകലവും ശേഖരിച്ചു ദൂരദേശത്തേക്ക് യാത്രയായി. അവിടെ തനിക്കു ഉള്ള പണം മുഴുവൻ ആവശ്യമില്ലാതെ ചെലവഴിച്ചു ജീവിച്ചു.
And after not many days, the younger son, gathering it all together, set out on a long journey to a distant region. And there, he dissipated his substance, living in luxury.
14 ൧൪ എല്ലാം ചെലവഴിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ ആ ദേശത്തു കഠിനക്ഷാമം ഉണ്ടായി. അവന് പണത്തിന് ആവശ്യംവന്നു തുടങ്ങി.
And after he had consumed it all, a great famine occurred in that region, and he began to be in need.
15 ൧൫ അവൻ ആ ദേശത്തിലെ പൗരന്മാരിൽ ഒരാൾക്ക് വേണ്ടി ജോലി ചെയ്യാൻ പോയി. അവൻ അവനെ തന്റെ വയലിൽ പന്നികൾക്ക് തീറ്റ കൊടുക്കുന്ന ജോലി കൊടുത്തു.
And he went and attached himself to one of the citizens of that region. And he sent him to his farm, in order to feed the swine.
And he wanted to fill his belly with the scraps that the swine ate. But no one would give it to him.
17 ൧൭ അപ്പോൾ സുബോധം വന്നിട്ട് അവൻ: എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ എത്ര കൂലിക്കാർ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചുകഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടും അധികം വരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ ഞാനോ വിശപ്പുകൊണ്ട് നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നു.
And returning to his senses, he said: ‘How many hired hands in my father’s house have abundant bread, while I perish here in famine!
18 ൧൮ ഞാൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്ന് അവനോട്: അപ്പാ, ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തോടും നിന്നോടും പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
I shall rise up and go to my father, and I will say to him: Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.
19 ൧൯ ഇനി നിന്റെ “മകൻ”എന്ന പേരിന് ഞാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല; നിന്റെ ജോലിക്കാരിൽ ഒരാളെപ്പോലെ എന്നെ ആക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
I am not worthy to be called your son. Make me one of your hired hands.’
20 ൨൦ അങ്ങനെ അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോയി. ദൂരത്ത് നിന്നു തന്നേ അപ്പൻ അവനെ കണ്ട് മനസ്സലിഞ്ഞ് ഓടിച്ചെന്നു അവനെ കെട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ച് അവനെ ചുംബിച്ചു.
And rising up, he went to his father. But while he was still at a distance, his father saw him, and he was moved with compassion, and running to him, he fell upon his neck and kissed him.
21 ൨൧ മകൻ അവനോട്: അപ്പാ, ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തോടും നിന്നോടും പാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു; ഇനി നിന്റെ മകൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കുവാൻ യോഗ്യനല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And the son said to him: ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you. Now I am not worthy to be called your son.’
22 ൨൨ അപ്പൻ തന്റെ ദാസന്മാരോട്: നിങ്ങൾ വേഗം പോയി മേന്മയുള്ള വസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു ഇവനെ ധരിപ്പിക്കുക; ഇവന്റെ കയ്യിൽ മോതിരവും കാലിൽ ചെരിപ്പും ഇടുവിക്കുക.
But the father said to his servants: ‘Quickly! Bring out the best robe, and clothe him with it. And put a ring on his hand and shoes on his feet.
23 ൨൩ ഒരു തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു അറുത്ത് അതിനെ പാകം ചെയ്യുക; നമുക്കു തിന്നു ആനന്ദിക്കാം.
And bring the fatted calf here, and kill it. And let us eat and hold a feast.
24 ൨൪ ഈ എന്റെ മകൻ മരിച്ചതുപോലെയായിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ വീണ്ടും ജീവിച്ചു; കാണാതെ പോയിരുന്നു; കണ്ടുകിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അങ്ങനെ അവർ ആനന്ദിച്ചു തുടങ്ങി.
For this son of mine was dead, and has revived; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to feast.
25 ൨൫ അവന്റെ മൂത്തമകൻ വയലിൽ ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ വന്നു വീടിനോട് അടുത്തപ്പോൾ നൃത്തത്തിന്റെയും സംഗീത ഉപകരണങ്ങളുടെയും ശബ്ദം കേട്ട്,
But his elder son was in the field. And when he returned and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
And he called one of the servants, and he questioned him as to what these things meant.
27 ൨൭ അവൻ അവനോട്: നിന്റെ സഹോദരൻ വന്നു; നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ അവനെ സൌഖ്യത്തോടെ കിട്ടിയതുകൊണ്ട് തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ അറുത്തു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And he said to him: ‘Your brother has returned, and your father has killed the fatted calf, because he has received him safely.’
28 ൨൮ അപ്പോൾ അവൻ കോപിച്ചു, അകത്ത് കടക്കുവാൻ താത്പര്യം ഇല്ലാതെ നിന്നു; അപ്പൻ പുറത്തു വന്നു അവനോട് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
Then he became indignant, and he was unwilling to enter. Therefore, his father, going out, began to plead with him.
29 ൨൯ അവൻ അവനോട്: ഇത്ര കാലമായി ഞാൻ നിന്നെ സേവിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ കല്പന ഒരിക്കലും ലംഘിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ ചങ്ങാതികളുമായി ആനന്ദിക്കേണ്ടതിന് നീ ഒരിക്കലും എനിക്ക് ഒരു ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെ തന്നിട്ടില്ല.
And in response, he said to his father: ‘Behold, I have been serving you for so many years. And I have never transgressed your commandment. And yet, you have never given me even a young goat, so that I might feast with my friends.
30 ൩൦ വേശ്യമാരോടുകൂടി നിന്റെ മുതൽ നശിപ്പിച്ച ഈ നിന്റെ മകൻ വന്നപ്പോഴേക്കോ തടിപ്പിച്ച കാളക്കുട്ടിയെ അവനുവേണ്ടി അറുത്തുവല്ലോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Yet after this son of yours returned, who has devoured his substance with loose women, you have killed the fatted calf for him.’
31 ൩൧ അതിന് അവൻ അവനോട്: മകനേ, നീ എപ്പോഴും എന്നോട് കൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ; എനിക്കുള്ളത് എല്ലാം നിന്റേത് ആകുന്നു.
But he said to him: ‘Son, you are with me always, and all that I have is yours.
32 ൩൨ നിന്റെ ഈ സഹോദരനോ മരിച്ചവനായിരുന്നു; വീണ്ടും ജീവിച്ചു; കാണാതെ പോയിരുന്നു; കണ്ട് കിട്ടിയിരിക്കുന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ട് ആനന്ദിച്ചു സന്തോഷിക്കേണ്ടത് ആവശ്യമായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But it was necessary to feast and to rejoice. For this brother of yours was dead, and has revived; he was lost, and is found.’”
