യോഹന്നാൻ 6
After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is also called the Sea of Tiberias.
A great multitude followed him, because they saw his signs which he did on those who were sick.
Jesus went up into the mountain, and he sat there with his disciples.
Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.
5 ൫ യേശു വലിയൊരു പുരുഷാരം തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നത് കണ്ടിട്ട് ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനോട്: ഇവർക്ക് തിന്നുവാൻ നാം എവിടെ നിന്നു അപ്പം വാങ്ങും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Jesus therefore, lifting up his eyes and seeing that a great multitude was coming to him, said to Philip, “Where are we to buy bread, that these may eat?”
He said this to test him, for he himself knew what he would do.
7 ൭ ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് അവനോട്: ഓരോരുത്തന് അല്പമല്പം ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഇരുനൂറ് പണത്തിന് അപ്പം മതിയാകയില്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Philip answered him, “Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may receive a little.”
One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him,
9 ൯ ഇവിടെ ഒരു ബാലകൻ ഉണ്ട്; അവന്റെ പക്കൽ അഞ്ച് യവത്തപ്പവും രണ്ടുമീനും ഉണ്ട്; എങ്കിലും ഇത്രപേർക്ക് അത് എന്തുള്ളു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
“There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what are these among so many?”
10 ൧൦ ആളുകളെ ഇരുത്തുവിൻ എന്നു യേശു പറഞ്ഞു. ആ സ്ഥലത്ത് വളരെ പുല്ലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അയ്യായിരത്തോളം പുരുഷന്മാർ ഇരുന്നു.
Jesus said, “Have the people sit down.” Now there was much grass in that place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.
11 ൧൧ പിന്നെ യേശു അപ്പം എടുത്തു വാഴ്ത്തി ഇരുന്നവർക്ക് പങ്കിട്ടുകൊടുത്തു; അങ്ങനെ തന്നെ മീനും വേണ്ടുന്നിടത്തോളം കൊടുത്തു.
Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, he distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to those who were sitting down, likewise also of the fish as much as they desired.
12 ൧൨ അവർക്ക് തൃപ്തിയായശേഷം അവൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്: ശേഷിച്ച കഷണം ഒന്നും നഷ്ടമാക്കാതെ ശേഖരിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
When they were filled, he said to his disciples, “Gather up the broken pieces which are left over, that nothing be lost.”
So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which were left over by those who had eaten.
14 ൧൪ അവൻ ചെയ്ത അടയാളം ആളുകൾ കണ്ടിട്ട്: ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വരുവാനുള്ള പ്രവാചകൻ ഇവൻ ആകുന്നു സത്യം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
When therefore the people saw the sign which Jesus did, they said, “This is truly the prophet who comes into the world.”
15 ൧൫ അവർ വന്നു തന്നെ ബലമായി പിടിച്ച് രാജാവാക്കുവാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു യേശു അറിഞ്ഞിട്ട് പിന്നെയും തനിച്ചു മലമുകളിലേക്കു പോയി.
Jesus therefore, perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, withdrew again to the mountain by himself.
When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea.
17 ൧൭ അവർ ഒരു പടകിൽ കയറി കടലിനക്കരെ കഫർന്നഹൂമിലേക്ക് യാത്രയായി; ഇരുട്ടായശേഷവും യേശു അവരുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നിരുന്നില്ല.
They entered into the boat, and were going over the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not come to them.
The sea was tossed by a great wind blowing.
19 ൧൯ അവർ ഇരുപത്തഞ്ച്-മുപ്പത് നാഴിക ദൂരത്തോളം വലിച്ചശേഷം യേശു കടലിന്മേൽ നടന്നു പടകിനോട് സമീപിക്കുന്നത് കണ്ട് പേടിച്ചു.
When therefore they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were afraid.
But he said to them, “It is I. Do not be afraid.”
They were willing therefore to receive him into the boat. Immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.
22 ൨൨ പിറ്റെന്നാൾ കടലിനക്കരെ നിന്നിരുന്ന പുരുഷാരം, ഒരു പടകല്ലാതെ അവിടെ വേറെ ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നും യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ പടകിൽ കയറാതെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ മാത്രം പോയിരുന്നു എന്നും ഗ്രഹിച്ചു.
On the next day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except the one in which his disciples had embarked, and that Jesus had not entered with his disciples into the boat, but his disciples had gone away alone.
23 ൨൩ എന്നാൽ കർത്താവ് വാഴ്ത്തിയിട്ട് അവർ അപ്പം തിന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിന്നരികെ തിബര്യാസിൽനിന്ന് ചില പടകുകൾ എത്തിയിരുന്നു.
However, boats from Tiberias came near to the place where they ate the bread after the Lord had given thanks.
24 ൨൪ യേശു അവിടെ ഇല്ല ശിഷ്യന്മാരും ഇല്ല എന്നു പുരുഷാരം കണ്ടപ്പോൾ തങ്ങളും പടക് കയറി യേശുവിനെ തിരഞ്ഞു കഫർന്നഹൂമിൽ എത്തി.
When the multitude therefore saw that Jesus was not there, nor his disciples, they themselves got into the boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.
When they found him on the other side of the sea, they asked him, “Rabbi, when did you come here?”
26 ൨൬ അതിന് യേശു: ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ അടയാളം കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടല്ല, അപ്പം തിന്നു തൃപ്തരായതുകൊണ്ടത്രേ എന്നെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നത്.
Jesus answered them, “Most certainly I tell you, you seek me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled.
27 ൨൭ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിനായിട്ടല്ല, നിത്യജീവങ്കലേക്ക് നിലനില്ക്കുന്ന ആഹാരത്തിനായിട്ടുതന്നെ പ്രവർത്തിപ്പിൻ; അത് മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തരും. അവനെ പിതാവായ ദൈവം മുദ്രയിട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. (aiōnios g166)
Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which remains to consummate (aiōnios g166) life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For God the Father has sealed him."
They said therefore to him, “What must we do, that we may work the works of God?”
29 ൨൯ യേശു അവരോട്: ദൈവത്തിന് പ്രസാദമുള്ള പ്രവൃത്തി അവൻ അയച്ചവനിൽ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നതത്രേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”
30 ൩൦ അവർ അവനോട്: ഞങ്ങൾ കണ്ട് നിന്നെ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന് നീ എന്ത് അടയാളം ചെയ്യുന്നു? എന്ത് പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു?
They said therefore to him, “What then do you do for a sign, that we may see and believe you? What work do you do?
31 ൩൧ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാർ മരുഭൂമിയിൽവച്ച് മന്ന തിന്നു; അവർക്ക് തിന്നുവാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു അപ്പം കൊടുത്തു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Our fathers ate the manna in the wilderness. As it is written, ‘He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.’”
32 ൩൨ യേശു അവരോട്: ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള അപ്പം മോശെയല്ല നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നതു, എന്റെ പിതാവത്രെ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നുള്ള സാക്ഷാൽ അപ്പം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തരുന്നത്.
Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly, I tell you, it was not Moses who gave you the bread out of heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread out of heaven.
33 ൩൩ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അപ്പമോ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു ലോകത്തിനു ജീവനെ കൊടുക്കുന്നത് ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
For the bread of God is that which comes down out of heaven and gives life to the world.”
They said therefore to him, “Lord, always give us this bread.”
35 ൩൫ യേശു അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: ഞാൻ ജീവന്റെ അപ്പം ആകുന്നു; എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവന് വിശക്കയില്ല; എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവന് ഒരുനാളും ദാഹിക്കയുമില്ല.
Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will not be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.
But I told you that you have seen me, and yet you do not believe.
37 ൩൭ പിതാവ് എനിക്ക് തരുന്നത് ഒക്കെയും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും; എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നവനെ ഞാൻ ഒരുനാളും തള്ളിക്കളകയില്ല.
All those whom the Father gives me will come to me. He who comes to me I will in no way throw out.
38 ൩൮ ഞാൻ എന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമല്ല, എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടമത്രേ ചെയ്‌വാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്.
For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
39 ൩൯ അവൻ എനിക്ക് തന്നവരിൽ ഒരുവനേപ്പോലും ഞാൻ കളയാതെ എല്ലാവരെയും അവസാന നാളിൽ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കണം എന്നാകുന്നു എന്നെ അയച്ചവന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം.
This is the will of my Father who sent me, that of all he has given to me I should lose nothing, but should raise him up at the last day.
40 ൪൦ പുത്രനെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ട് അവനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവനും നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ടാകണമെന്നാകുന്നു എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടം; ഞാൻ അവനെ അവസാന നാളിൽ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും. (aiōnios g166)
This is the will of the one who sent me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him should have consummate (aiōnios g166) life; and I will raise him up at the last day."
41 ൪൧ ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതിനാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ അവനെക്കുറിച്ച് പിറുപിറുത്തു:
The Jews therefore murmured concerning him, because he said, “I am the bread which came down out of heaven.”
42 ൪൨ ഇവൻ യോസഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു അല്ലയോ? അവന്റെ അപ്പനെയും അമ്മയെയും നാം അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ; പിന്നെ ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു എന്നു അവൻ പറയുന്നത് എങ്ങനെ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
They said, “Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he say, ‘I have come down out of heaven’?”
Therefore Jesus answered them, “Do not murmur among yourselves.
44 ൪൪ എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവ് ആകർഷിച്ചിട്ടല്ലാതെ ആർക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല; ഞാൻ അവസാന നാളിൽ അവനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും.
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him; and I will raise him up in the last day.
45 ൪൫ എല്ലാവരും ദൈവത്താൽ ഉപദേശിക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ ആകും എന്നു പ്രവാചകപുസ്തകങ്ങളിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു. പിതാവിൽനിന്ന് കേട്ടുപഠിച്ചവൻ എല്ലാം എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരും.
It is written in the prophets, ‘They will all be taught by God.’ Therefore everyone who hears from the Father and has learned, comes to me.
46 ൪൬ പിതാവിനെ ആരെങ്കിലും കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ട് എന്നല്ല, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു വന്നവൻ മാത്രമേ പിതാവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടുള്ള.
Not that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God. He has seen the Father.
Most certainly, I tell you, he who believes in me has consummate (aiōnios g166) life.
I am the bread of life.
Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness and they died.
This is the bread which comes down out of heaven, that anyone may eat of it and not die.
51 ൫൧ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഇറങ്ങിയ ജീവനുള്ള അപ്പം ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു; ആരെങ്കിലും ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നാൽ, അവൻ എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും; ലോകത്തിന്റെ ജീവനുവേണ്ടി ഞാൻ കൊടുക്കാനിരിക്കുന്ന അപ്പമോ എന്റെ മാംസം ആകുന്നു. (aiōn g165)
I am the living bread which came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live in this age (aiōn g165). Yes, the bread which I will give for the life of the world is my flesh."
52 ൫൨ ആകയാൽ യെഹൂദന്മാർ ദേഷ്യത്തോടെ: ഇവന്റെ മാംസം നമുക്കു തിന്നേണ്ടതിന് തരുവാൻ ഇവന് എങ്ങനെ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു തമ്മിൽ വാദിച്ചു.
The Jews therefore contended with one another, saying, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
53 ൫൩ യേശു അവരോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നാതെയും അവന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉള്ളിൽ ജീവൻ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല.
Jesus therefore said to them, “Most certainly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves.
54 ൫൪ എന്റെ മാംസം തിന്നുകയും എന്റെ രക്തം കുടിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവന് നിത്യജീവൻ ഉണ്ട്; അവസാന നാളിൽ ഞാൻ അവനെ ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേല്പിക്കും. (aiōnios g166)
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has consummate (aiōnios g166) life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood lives in me, and I in him.
57 ൫൭ ജീവനുള്ള പിതാവ് എന്നെ അയച്ചിട്ട് ഞാൻ പിതാവിൻമൂലം ജീവിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എന്നെ തിന്നുന്നവൻ എന്മൂലം ജീവിക്കും.
As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will also live because of me.
58 ൫൮ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്ന അപ്പം ഇതു ആകുന്നു; പിതാക്കന്മാർ തിന്നുകയും മരിക്കയും ചെയ്തതുപോലെ അല്ല; ഈ അപ്പം തിന്നുന്നവൻ എന്നേക്കും ജീവിക്കും. (aiōn g165)
This is the bread which came down out of heaven—not as our fathers ate, and died. He who eats this bread will live in this age (aiōn g165)."
He said these things in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum.
60 ൬൦ അവന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ പലരും അത് കേട്ടിട്ട്: ഇതു കഠിനമായ ഉപദേശം, ഇതു ആർക്ക് അംഗീകരിക്കുവാൻ കഴിയും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Therefore many of his disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying! Who can listen to it?”
61 ൬൧ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ അതിനെച്ചൊല്ലി പിറുപിറുക്കുന്നത് യേശു തന്നിൽതന്നേ അറിഞ്ഞ് അവരോട്: ഇതു നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇടർച്ച ആകുന്നുവോ?
But Jesus knowing in himself that his disciples murmured at this, said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?
Then what if you would see the Son of Man ascending to where he was before?
63 ൬൩ ജീവിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് ആത്മാവ് ആകുന്നു; മാംസം ഒന്നിനും ഉപകരിക്കുന്നില്ല; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ച വചനങ്ങൾ ആത്മാവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു.
It is the spirit who gives life. The flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and are life.
64 ൬൪ എങ്കിലും വിശ്വസിക്കാത്തവർ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ട് എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു, കാരണം അവർ ആരെന്നും തന്നെ ഒറ്റികൊടുക്കുന്നവൻ ആരെന്നും യേശു ആദിമുതൽ അറിഞ്ഞിരുന്നു.
But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.
65 ൬൫ ഇതുകൊണ്ടാണ് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു: പിതാവ് കൃപ നല്കീട്ടല്ലാതെ ആർക്കും എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുവാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞത് എന്നും അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.
He said, “For this cause I have said to you that no one can come to me, unless it is given to him by my Father.”
At this, many of his disciples went back and walked no more with him.
Jesus said therefore to the twelve, “You do not also want to go away, do you?”
68 ൬൮ ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസ് അവനോട്: കർത്താവേ, ഞങ്ങൾ ആരുടെ അടുക്കൽ പോകും? നിത്യജീവന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ട്. (aiōnios g166)
Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of consummate (aiōnios g166) life.
We have come to believe and know that you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”
70 ൭൦ യേശു അവരോട്: നിങ്ങളെ പന്ത്രണ്ടുപേരെ ഞാൻ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തില്ലയോ? എങ്കിലും നിങ്ങളിൽ ഒരുവൻ ഒരു പിശാച് ആകുന്നു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. ഇതു അവൻ ശിമോൻ ഈസ്കര്യോത്താവിന്റെ മകനായ യൂദയെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
Jesus answered them, “Did not I choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?”
Now he spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, for it was he who would betray him, being one of the twelve.
