ലൂക്കോസ് 13
1 ആ സമയത്തു തന്നേ അവിടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ചിലർ, പീലാത്തൊസ് ചില ഗലീലക്കാരുടെ ചോര അവരുടെ യാഗങ്ങളോടു കലൎത്തിയ വൎത്തമാനം അവനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.
Just at that time some people had come to tell Jesus about the Galileans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with the blood of their sacrifices.
2 അതിന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: ആ ഗലീലക്കാർ ഇതു അനുഭവിക്കയാൽ എല്ലാ ഗലീലക്കാരിലും പാപികൾ ആയിരുന്നു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾക്കു തോന്നുന്നുവോ?
“Do you suppose,” replied Jesus, “that, because these Galileans have suffered in this way, they were worse sinners than any other Galileans?
3 അല്ലല്ല, മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും അങ്ങനെതന്നേ നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
No, I tell you; but, unless you repent, you will all perish as they did.
4 അല്ല, ശീലോഹാമിലെ ഗോപുരം വീണു മരിച്ചുപോയ ആ പതിനെട്ടുപേർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ പാൎക്കുന്ന സകല മനുഷ്യരിലും കുറ്റക്കാർ ആയിരുന്നു എന്നു തോന്നുന്നുവോ?
Or those eighteen men at Siloam on whom the tower fell, killing them all, do you suppose that they were worse offenders than any other inhabitants of Jerusalem?
5 അല്ലല്ല, മാനസാന്തരപ്പെടാഞ്ഞാൽ നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ നശിച്ചുപോകും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
No, I tell you; but, unless you repent, you will all perish in the same manner.”
6 അവൻ ഈ ഉപമയും പറഞ്ഞു: ഒരുത്തന്നു തന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിൽ നട്ടിരുന്നോരു അത്തിവൃക്ഷം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവൻ അതിൽ ഫലം തിരഞ്ഞുവന്നു, കണ്ടില്ലതാനും.
And Jesus told them this parable – “A man, who had a fig tree growing in his vineyard, came to look for fruit on it, but could not find any.
7 അവൻ തോട്ടക്കാരനോടു: ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ മൂന്നു സംവത്സരമായി ഈ അത്തിയിൽ ഫലം തിരഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു കാണുന്നില്ലതാനും; അതിനെ വെട്ടിക്കളക; അതു നിലത്തെ നിഷ്ഫലമാക്കുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
So he said to his gardener ‘Three years now I have come to look for fruit on this fig tree, without finding any! Cut it down. Why should it rob the soil?’
8 അതിന്നു അവൻ: കൎത്താവേ, ഞാൻ അതിന്നു ചുറ്റും കിളെച്ചു വളം ഇടുവോളം ഈ ആണ്ടും കൂടെ നില്ക്കട്ടെ.
‘Leave it this one year more, Sir,’ the man answered, ‘until I have dug around it and manured it.
9 മേലാൽ കായിച്ചെങ്കിലോ - ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ വെട്ടിക്കളയാം എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Then, if it bears in future, well and good; but if not, you can have it cut down.’”
10 ഒരു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അവൻ ഒരു പള്ളിയിൽ ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു;
Jesus was teaching on a Sabbath in one of the synagogues,
11 അവിടെ പതിനെട്ടു സംവത്സരമായി ഒരു രോഗാത്മാവു ബാധിച്ചിട്ടു ഒട്ടും നിവിരുവാൻ കഴിയാതെ കൂനിയായോരു സ്ത്രീ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
and he saw before him a woman who for eighteen years had suffered from weakness owing to her having an evil spirit in her. She was bent double, and was wholly unable to raise herself.
12 യേശു അവളെ കണ്ടു അടുക്കെ വിളിച്ചു: സ്ത്രീയേ, നിന്റെ രോഗബന്ധനം അഴിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു അവളുടെ മേൽ കൈവെച്ചു.
When Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said, “Woman, you are released from your weakness.”
13 അവൾ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ നിവിൎന്നു ദൈവത്തെ മഹത്വപ്പെടുത്തി.
He placed his hands on her, and she was instantly made straight, and began to praise God.
14 യേശു ശബ്ബത്തിൽ സൌഖ്യമാക്കിയതുകൊണ്ടു പള്ളിപ്രമാണി നീരസപ്പെട്ടു പുരുഷാരത്തോടു: വേല ചെയ്‌വാൻ ആറുദിവസമുണ്ടല്ലോ; അതിന്നകം വന്നു സൌഖ്യം വരുത്തിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; ശബ്ബത്തിൽ അരുതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But the synagogue leader, indignant that Jesus had worked the cure on the Sabbath, intervened and said to the people, “There are six days on which work ought to be done; come to be cured on one of those, and not on the Sabbath.”
15 കൎത്താവു അവനോടു: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരേ, നിങ്ങളിൽ ഓരോരുത്തൻ ശബ്ബത്തിൽ തന്റെ കാളയെയോ കഴുതയെയോ തൊട്ടിയിൽ നിന്നു അഴിച്ചു കൊണ്ടുപോയി വെള്ളം കുടിപ്പിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ?
“You hypocrites!” the Master answered him. “Does not everyone of you let your ox or your donkey loose from its manger, and take it out to drink, on the Sabbath?
16 എന്നാൽ സാത്താൻ പതിനെട്ടു സംവത്സരമായി ബന്ധിച്ചിരുന്ന അബ്രാഹാമിന്റെ മകളായ ഇവളെ ശബ്ബത്തുനാളിൽ ഈ ബന്ധനം അഴിച്ചു വിടേണ്ടതല്ലയോ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
But this woman, a daughter of Abraham, who has been kept in bondage by Satan for now eighteen years, ought not she to have been released from her bondage on the Sabbath?”
17 അവൻ ഇതു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ വിരോധികൾ എല്ലാവരും നാണിച്ചു; അവനാൽ നടക്കുന്ന സകല മഹിമകളാലും പുരുഷാരം ഒക്കെയും സന്തോഷിച്ചു.
As he said this, his opponents all felt ashamed; but all the people rejoiced to see all the wonderful things that he was doing.
18 പിന്നെ അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു: ദൈവരാജ്യം ഏതിനോടു സദൃശം? ഏതിനോടു അതിനെ ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു?
So Jesus said, “What is the kingdom of God like? And to what can I liken it?
19 ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ എടുത്തു തന്റെ തോട്ടത്തിൽ ഇട്ട കടുകുമണിയോടു അതു സദൃശം; അതു വളൎന്നു വൃക്ഷമായി, ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികളും വന്നു അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളിൽ വസിച്ചു.
It is like a mustard seed which a man took and put in his garden. The seed grew and became a tree, and the wild birds roosted in its branches.”
20 പിന്നെയും അവൻ: ദൈവരാജ്യത്തെ ഏതിനോടു ഉപമിക്കേണ്ടു?
And again Jesus said, “To what can I liken the kingdom of God?
21 അതു പുളിച്ചമാവിനോടു തുല്യം; അതു ഒരു സ്ത്രീ എടുത്തു മൂന്നുപറ മാവിൽ ചേൎത്തു എല്ലാം പുളിച്ചുവരുവോളം അടക്കിവെച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
It is like some yeast which a woman took and covered in three pecks of flour, until the whole had risen.”
22 അവൻ പട്ടണംതോറും ഗ്രാമംതോറും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു യാത്ര ചെയ്തു.
Jesus went through towns and villages, teaching as he went, and making his way towards Jerusalem.
23 അപ്പോൾ ഒരുത്തൻ അവനോടു: കൎത്താവേ, രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവർ ചുരുക്കമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു:
“Master,” someone asked, “are there but few in the path of salvation?” And Jesus answered,
24 ഇടുക്കുവാതിലൂടെ കടപ്പാൻ പോരാടുവിൻ. പലരും കടപ്പാൻ നോക്കും കഴികയില്ലതാനും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
“Strive to go in by the narrow door. Many, I tell you, will seek to go in, but they will not be able,
25 വീട്ടുടയവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു കതകു അടെച്ചശേഷം നിങ്ങൾ പുറത്തുനിന്നു: കൎത്താവേ, തുറന്നു തരേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു കതകിന്നു മുട്ടിത്തുടങ്ങുമ്പോൾ: നിങ്ങൾ എവിടെ നിന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറയും.
when once the master of the house has got up and shut the door, while you begin to say, as you stand outside and knock, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ His answer will be – ‘I do not know where you come from.’
26 അന്നേരം നിങ്ങൾ: നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ തിന്നുകയും കുടിക്കയും ഞങ്ങളുടെ തെരുക്കളിൽ നീ പഠിപ്പിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലൊ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങും.
Then you will begin to say ‘We have eaten and drunk in your presence, and you have taught in our streets,’ and his reply will be –
27 അവനോ: നിങ്ങൾ എവിടെ നിന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; അനീതി പ്രവൃത്തിക്കുന്ന ഏവരുമായുള്ളോരേ, എന്നെ വിട്ടുപോകുവിൻ എന്നു പറയും.
‘I do not know where you come from. Leave my presence, all you who are living in wickedness.’
28 അവിടെ അബ്രാഹാമും യിസ്ഹാക്കും യാക്കോബും സകല പ്രവാചകന്മാരും ദൈവ രാജ്യത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നതും നിങ്ങളെ പുറത്തു തള്ളിക്കളഞ്ഞതും നിങ്ങൾ കാണുമ്പോൾ കരച്ചലും പല്ലുകടിയും ഉണ്ടാകും.
There, there will be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, while you yourselves are being driven outside.
29 കിഴക്കുനിന്നും പടിഞ്ഞാറുനിന്നും തെക്കുനിന്നും വടക്കുനിന്നും അനേകർ വന്നു ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ പന്തിയിലിരിക്കും.
People will come from East and West, and from North and South, and take their places at the banquet in the kingdom of God.
30 മുമ്പന്മാരായ്തീരുന്ന പിമ്പന്മാരുണ്ടു, പിമ്പന്മാരായ്തീരുന്ന മുമ്പന്മാരും ഉണ്ടു.
There are some who are last now who will then be first, and some who are first now who will then be last!”
31 ആ നാഴികയിൽ തന്നേ ചില പരീശന്മാർ അടുത്തുവന്നു: ഇവിടം വിട്ടു പൊയ്ക്കാൾക; ഹെരോദാവു നിന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
Just then some Pharisees came up to Jesus and said, “Go away and leave this place, for Herod wants to kill you.”
32 അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നിങ്ങൾ പോയി ആ കുറുക്കനോടു: ഞാൻ ഇന്നും നാളെയും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കുകയും രോഗശാന്തി വരുത്തുകയും മൂന്നാം നാളിൽ സമാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
But Jesus answered, “Go and say to that fox ‘Look you, I am driving out demons and will be completing cures today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will have done.’
33 എങ്കിലും ഇന്നും നാളെയും മറ്റെന്നാളും ഞാൻ സഞ്ചരിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു; യെരൂശലേമിന്നു പുറത്തുവെച്ചു ഒരു പ്രവാചകൻ നശിച്ചുപോകുന്നതു അസംഭവ്യമല്ലോ എന്നു പറവിൻ.
But today and tomorrow and the day after I must go on my way, because it cannot be that a prophet should meet his end outside Jerusalem.
34 യെരൂശലേമേ, യെരൂശലേമേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുകയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരെ കല്ലെറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നവളേ, കോഴി തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ചിറകിൻ കീഴിൽ ചേൎക്കുംപോലെ നിന്റെ മക്കളെ എത്രവട്ടം ചേൎത്തുകൊൾവാൻ എനിക്കു മനസ്സായിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കോ മനസ്സായില്ല.
Jerusalem! Jerusalem! You who slays the prophets and stones the messengers sent to you – Oh, how often have I wished to gather your children around me, as a hen takes her brood under her wings, and you would not come!
35 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനം ശൂന്യമായ്ത്തീരും; കൎത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുവോളം നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.
Verily your house is left to you desolate! And never, I tell you, will you see me, until you say – ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
