യോഹന്നാൻ 1
1 ആദിയിൽ വചനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവത്തോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവം ആയിരുന്നു.
In the beginnynge was the worde and the worde was with God: and the worde was God.
2 അവൻ ആദിയിൽ ദൈവത്തോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു.
The same was in the beginnynge with God.
3 സകലവും അവൻമുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ഉളവായതു ഒന്നും അവനെ കൂടാതെ ഉളവായതല്ല.
All thinges were made by it and with out it was made nothinge that was made.
4 അവനിൽ ജീവൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ജീവൻ മനുഷ്യരുടെ വെളിച്ചമായിരുന്നു.
In it was lyfe and the lyfe was ye lyght of men
5 വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളിൽ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു; ഇരുളോ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയില്ല.
and the lyght shyneth in the darcknes but the darcknes comprehended it not.
6 ദൈവം അയച്ചിട്ടു ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ വന്നു; അവന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു പേർ.
There was a man sent from God whose name was Iohn.
7 അവൻ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി, താൻമുഖാന്തരം എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവാൻ തന്നേ വന്നു.
The same cam as a witnes to beare witnes of the lyght that all men through him myght beleve.
8 അവൻ വെളിച്ചം ആയിരുന്നില്ല; വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയേണ്ടുന്നവനത്രേ.
He was not that lyght: but to beare witnes of the lyght.
9 ഏതു മനുഷ്യനെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സത്യവെളിച്ചം ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
That was a true lyght which lyghteth all men that come into the worlde.
10 അവൻ ലോകത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ലോകം അവൻമുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ലോകമോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.
He was in ye worlde and the worlde was made by him: and yet the worlde knewe him not.
11 അവൻ സ്വന്തത്തിലേക്കു വന്നു; സ്വന്തമായവരോ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടില്ല.
He cam amonge his (awne) and his awne receaved him not.
12 അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവൎക്കും ദൈവമക്കൾ ആകുവാൻ അവൻ അധികാരം കൊടുത്തു.
But as meny as receaved him to them he gave power to be the sonnes of God in yt they beleved on his name:
13 അവർ രക്തത്തിൽ നിന്നല്ല, ജഡത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലല്ല, പുരുഷന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലുമല്ല, ദൈവത്തിൽ നിന്നത്രേ ജനിച്ചതു.
which were borne not of bloude nor of the will of the flesshe nor yet of the will of man: but of God.
14 വചനം ജഡമായി തീൎന്നു, കൃപയും സത്യവും നിറഞ്ഞവനായി നമ്മുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാൎത്തു. ഞങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ തേജസ്സ് പിതാവിൽ നിന്നു ഏകജാതനായവന്റെ തേജസ്സായി കണ്ടു.
And the worde was made flesshe and dwelt amonge vs and we sawe the glory of it as the glory of the only begotten sonne of ye father which worde was full of grace and verite.
15 യോഹന്നാൻ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു: എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീൎന്നു; അവൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞവൻ ഇവൻ തന്നേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു.
Iohn bare witnes of him and cryed sayinge: This was he of whome I spake he that cometh after me was before me because he was yer then I.
16 അവന്റെ നിറവിൽ നിന്നു നമുക്കു എല്ലാവൎക്കും കൃപമേൽ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
And of his fulnes have all we receaved even (grace) for grace.
17 ന്യായപ്രമാണം മോശെമുഖാന്തരം ലഭിച്ചു; കൃപയും സത്യവും യേശുക്രിസ്തുമുഖാന്തരം വന്നു.
For the lawe was geven by Moses but grace and truthe came by Iesus Christ.
18 ദൈവത്തെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; പിതാവിന്റെ മടിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഏകജാതനായ പുത്രൻ അവനെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
No ma hath sene God at eny tyme. The only begotte sonne which is in ye bosome of ye father he hath declared him.
19 നീ ആർ എന്നു യോഹന്നാനോടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാർ യെരൂശലേമിൽനിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം എന്തെന്നാൽ: അവൻ മറുക്കാതെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു;
And this is the recorde of Iohn: When the Iewes sent Prestes and Levites from Ierusalem to axe him what arte thou?
20 ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്തു അല്ല എന്നു ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു.
And he confessed and denyed not and sayde playnly: I am not Christ.
21 പിന്നെ എന്തു? നീ ഏലീയാവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: അല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ ആ പ്രവാചകനോ? എന്നതിന്നു: അല്ല എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
And they axed him: what then? arte thou Helyas? And he sayde: I am not. Arte thou a Prophete? And he answered no.
22 അവർ അവനോടു: നീ ആരാകുന്നു? ഞങ്ങളെ അയച്ചവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
Then sayd they vnto him: what arte thou that we maye geve an answer to them that sent vs: What sayest thou of thy selfe?
23 അതിന്നു അവൻ: യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ: കൎത്താവിന്റെ വഴി നേരെ ആക്കുവിൻ എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
He sayde: I am the voyce of a cryar in the wyldernes make strayght the waye of the Lorde as sayde the Prophete Esaias.
24 അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവർ ആയിരുന്നു.
And they which were sent were of the pharises.
25 എന്നാൽ നീ ക്രിസ്തുവല്ല, ഏലീയാവല്ല, ആ പ്രവാചകനും അല്ല എന്നു വരികിൽ നീ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവർ ചോദിച്ചു.
And they axed him and sayde vnto him: why baptisest thou then yf thou be not Christ nor Helyas nether a Prophet?
26 അതിന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ: ഞാൻ വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാത്ത ഒരുത്തൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നുണ്ടു;
Iohn answered them sayinge: I baptise with water: but one is come amonge you whom ye knowe not
27 എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവൻ തന്നേ; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു അഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യൻ അല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
he it is that cometh after me whiche was before me whose sho latchet I am not worthy to vnlose.
28 ഇതു യോൎദ്ദാന്നക്കരെ യോഹന്നാൻ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ബേഥാന്യയിൽ സംഭവിച്ചു.
These thinges were done in Bethabara beyonde Iordan where Iohn dyd baptyse.
29 പിറ്റെന്നാൾ യേശു തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടിട്ടു: ഇതാ, ലോകത്തിന്റെ പാപം ചുമക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു.
The nexte daye Iohn sawe Iesus commyge vnto him and sayde: beholde the lambe of God which taketh awaye the synne of the worlde.
30 എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ വരുന്നു; അവൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീൎന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞവൻ ഇവൻ തന്നേ.
This is he of whom I sayde. After me cometh a man which was before me for he was yer then I
31 ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
and I knew him not: but that he shuld be declared to Israell therfore am I come baptisynge with water.
32 യോഹന്നാൻ പിന്നെയും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞതു: ആത്മാവു ഒരു പ്രാവുപോലെ സ്വൎഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; അതു അവന്റെമേൽ വസിച്ചു.
And Iohn bare recorde sayinge: I sawe the sprete descende from heven lyke vnto a dove and abyde apon him
33 ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവൻ എന്നോടു: ആരുടെമേൽ ആത്മാവു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതും വസിക്കുന്നതും നീ കാണുമോ അവൻ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
and I knewe him not. But he that sent me to baptise in water the same sayde vnto me: apon whom thou shalt se the sprete descende and tary styll on him the same is he which baptiseth with the holy goost.
34 അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ കാണുകയും ഇവൻ ദൈവപുത്രൻ തന്നേ എന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.
And I sawe and bare recorde that this is the sonne of God.
35 പിറ്റെന്നാൾ യോഹന്നാൻ പിന്നെയും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരുമായി അവിടെ നില്ക്കുമ്പോൾ
The next daye after Iohn stode agayne and two of his disciples.
36 കടന്നുപോകുന്ന യേശുവിനെ നോക്കീട്ടു: ഇതാ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And he behelde Iesus as he walked by and sayde: beholde the lambe of God.
37 അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു ആ രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കേട്ടു യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
And the two disciples hearde him speake and folowed Iesus.
38 യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവർ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരോടു: നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു; അവർ: റബ്ബീ, എന്നു വെച്ചാൽ ഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പാൎക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
And Iesus turned about and sawe them folowe and sayde vnto them: what seke ye? They sayde vnto him: Rabbi (which is to saye by interpretacion Master) where dwellest thou?
39 അവൻ അവരോടു: വന്നു കാണ്മിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ വസിക്കുന്ന ഇടം അവർ കണ്ടു അന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാൎത്തു; അപ്പോൾ ഏകദേശം പത്താം മണിനേരം ആയിരുന്നു.
He sayde vnto them: come and se. They came and sawe where he dwelt: and abode with him that daye. For it was about the tenthe houre.
40 യോഹന്നാൻ പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ച രണ്ടുപേരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് ആയിരുന്നു.
One of the two which hearde Iohn speake and folowed Iesus was Andrew Simon Peters brother.
41 അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ശിമോനെ ആദ്യം കണ്ടു അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ മശീഹയെ എന്നുവെച്ചാൽ ക്രിസ്തുവെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
The same founde his brother Simon fyrst and sayde vnto him: we have founde Messias which is by interpretacion annoynted:
42 അവനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി: നീ യോഹന്നാന്റെ പുത്രനായ ശിമോൻ ആകുന്നു; നിനക്കു കേഫാ എന്നു പേരാകും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതു പത്രൊസ് എന്നാകുന്നു.
and brought him to Iesus. And Iesus behelde him and sayde: thou arte Simon the sonne of Ionas thou shalt be called Cephas: which is by interpretacion a stone.
43 പിറ്റെന്നാൾ യേശു ഗലീലെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഫിലിപ്പൊസിനെ കണ്ടു: എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
The daye folowynge Iesus wolde goo into Galile and founde Philip and sayde vnto him folowe me.
44 ഫിലിപ്പൊസോ അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും പത്രൊസിന്റെയും പട്ടണമായ ബേത്ത്സയിദയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവൻ ആയിരുന്നു.
Philip was of Bethsaida the cite of Andrew and Peter.
45 ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് നഥനയേലിനെ കണ്ടു അവനോടു: ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു എന്ന നസറെത്ത്കാരൻ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Philip founde Nathanael and sayde vnto him. We have founde him of whom Moses in the lawe and the prophetes dyd wryte. Iesus the sonne of Ioseph of Nazareth.
46 നഥനയേൽ അവനോടു: നസറെത്തിൽനിന്നു വല്ല നന്മയും വരുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് അവനോടു: വന്നു കാൺക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
And Nathanael sayde vnto him: can ther eny good thinge come out of Nazareth? Philip sayde to him: come and se.
47 നഥനയേൽ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടു: ഇതാ, സാക്ഷാൽ യിസ്രായേല്യൻ; ഇവനിൽ കപടം ഇല്ല എന്നു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.
Iesus sawe Nathanael commynge to him and sayde of him. Beholde a ryght Israelite in who is no gyle.
48 നഥനയേൽ അവനോടു: എന്നെ എവിടെവെച്ചു അറിയും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: ഫിലിപ്പൊസ് നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നീ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കണ്ടു എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Nathanael sayd vnto him: where knewest thou me? Iesus answered and sayde vnto him: Before that Philip called the when thou wast vnder ye fygge tree I sawe the.
49 നഥനയേൽ അവനോടു: റബ്ബീ, നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ, നീ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Nathanael answered and sayde vnto him: Rabbi thou arte the sonne of God thou arte the kynge of Israel.
50 യേശു അവനോടു: ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴിൽ കണ്ടു എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറകകൊണ്ടു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? നീ ഇതിനെക്കാൾ വലിയതു കാണും എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Iesus answered and sayd vnto him: Because I sayde vnto the I sawe the vnder the fygge tree thou belevest. Thou shalt se greater thinges then these.
51 ആമേൻ ആമേൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: സ്വൎഗ്ഗം തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൈവദൂതന്മാർ കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും നിങ്ങൾ കാണും എന്നും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
And he sayde vnto him: Verely verely I saye vnto you: herafter shall ye se heven open and the angels of God ascendynge and descendynge over the sonne of man.
