പുറപ്പാട് 34

1 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു കല്പിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: മുമ്പിലത്തേവപോലെ രണ്ടു കല്പലക ചെത്തിക്കൊൾക; എന്നാൽ നീ പൊട്ടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ മുമ്പിലത്തെ പലകയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന വചനങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ ആ പലകയിൽ എഴുതും.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Cut two tablets of stone like the first tablets. I will write on these tablets the words that were on the first tablets, the tablets that you broke.

2 നീ രാവിലേ ഒരുങ്ങി രാവിലേ തന്നേ സീനായിപൎവ്വതത്തിൽ കയറി; പൎവ്വതത്തിന്റെ മുകളിൽ എന്റെ സന്നിധിയിൽ വരേണം.

Be ready by morning and come up Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the mountain top.

3 നിന്നോടുകൂടെ ആരും കയറരുതു. പൎവ്വതത്തിലെങ്ങും ആരെയും കാണരുതു. പൎവ്വതത്തിൻ അരികെ ആടുകളോ കന്നുകാലികളോ മേയുകയും അരുതു.

No one is to come up with you. Do not let anyone else be seen anywhere on the mountain. No flocks or herds are even to graze in front of the mountain.”

4 അങ്ങനെ മോശെ മുമ്പിലത്തേവപോലെ രണ്ടു കല്പലക ചെത്തി, അതികാലത്തു എഴുന്നേറ്റു യഹോവ തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോല സീനായിപൎവ്വതത്തിൽ കയറി; കല്പലക രണ്ടും കയ്യിൽ എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോയി.

So Moses cut two tablets of stone like the first ones, and he got up early in the morning and went up Mount Sinai, as Yahweh had instructed him. Moses carried the tablets of stone in his hand.

5 അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ മേഘത്തിൽ ഇറങ്ങി അവിടെ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തെ ഘോഷിച്ചു.

Yahweh came down in the cloud and stood with Moses there, and he pronounced the name “Yahweh.”

6 യഹോവ അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ കടന്നു ഘോഷിച്ചതു എന്തെന്നാൽ: യഹോവ, യഹോവയായ ദൈവം, കരുണയും കൃപയുമുള്ളവൻ; ദീൎഘക്ഷമയും മഹാദയയും വിശ്വസ്തതയുമുള്ളവൻ.

Yahweh passed by before him and proclaimed, “Yahweh, Yahweh, God is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in covenant faithfulness and trustworthiness,

7 ആയിരം ആയിരത്തിന്നു ദയ പാലിക്കുന്നവൻ; അകൃത്യവും അതിക്രമവും പാപവും ക്ഷമിക്കുന്നവൻ; കുറ്റമുള്ളവനെ വെറുതെ വിടാതെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അകൃത്യം മക്കളുടെമേലും മക്കളുടെ മക്കളുടെമേലും മൂന്നാമത്തെയും നാലാമത്തെയും തലമുറയോളം സന്ദൎശിക്കുന്നവൻ.

keeping covenant faithfulness for thousands of generations, forgiving iniquities, transgressions, and sins. But he will by no means clear the guilty. He will bring the punishment for the fathers' sin on their children and on their children's children, as far as the third and fourth generations.”

8 എന്നാറെ മോശെ ബദ്ധപ്പെട്ടു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു:

Moses quickly bowed his head to the ground and worshiped.

9 കൎത്താവേ, നിനക്കു എന്നോടു കൃപയുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ കൎത്താവു ഞങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യേ നടക്കേണമേ. ഇതു ദുശ്ശാഠ്യമുള്ള ജനം തന്നേ എങ്കിലും ഞങ്ങളുടെ അകൃത്യവും പാപവും ക്ഷമിച്ചു ഞങ്ങളെ നിന്റെ അവകാശമാക്കേണമേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

Then he said, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, my Lord, please go among us, for this people is stubborn. Pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”

10 അതിന്നു അവൻ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ: ഞാൻ ഒരു നിയമം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. ഭൂമിയിലെങ്ങും ഒരു ജാതിയിലും സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടില്ലാത്ത അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ സൎവ്വജനത്തിന്നും മുമ്പാകെ ഞാൻ ചെയ്യും; നീ സഹവാസം ചെയ്തുപോരുന്ന ജനം ഒക്കെയും യഹോവയുടെ പ്രവൃത്തിയെ കാണും; ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്‌വാനിരിക്കുന്നതു ഭയങ്കരമായുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

Yahweh said, “See, I am about to make a covenant. Before all your people, I will do marvels such as have not been done in all the earth nor in any nation. All the people among you will see my deeds, for it is a fearful thing that I am doing with you.

11 ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിക്കുന്നതു സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊൾക; അമോൎയ്യൻ, കനാന്യൻ, ഹിത്യൻ, പെരിസ്യൻ, ഹിവ്യൻ, യെബൂസ്യൻ എന്നിവരെ ഞാൻ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിന്നു ഓടിച്ചുകളയും.

Obey what I command you today. I am about to drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

12 നീ ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്തിലെ നിവാസികളോടു നീ ഒരു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്യാതിരിപ്പാൻ കരുതിക്കൊൾക; അല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ അതു നിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരു കണിയായിരിക്കും.

Be careful not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, or they will become a trap among you.

13 നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ ബലിപീഠങ്ങളെ ഇടിച്ചു വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെ തകൎത്തു അശേരപ്രതിഷ്ഠകളെ വെട്ടിക്കളയേണം.

Instead, you must break down their altars, smash their stone pillars, and cut down their Asherah poles.

14 അന്യദൈവത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കരുതു; യഹോവയുടെ നാമം തീക്ഷ്ണൻ എന്നാകുന്നു; അവൻ തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ള ദൈവം തന്നേ.

For you must worship no other god, for Yahweh, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.

15 ആ ദേശത്തിലെ നിവാസികളോടു ഉടമ്പടി ചെയ്കയും അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരോടു അവർ പരസംഗം ചെയ്തു അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാൎക്കു ബലി കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിന്നെ വിളിക്കയും നീ ചെന്നു അവരുടെ ബലികൾ തിന്നുകയും

So be careful not to make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, for they prostitute themselves to their gods, and they sacrifice to their gods. Then one of them will invite you and you will eat some of his sacrifice,

16 അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാരിൽനിന്നു നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാൎക്കു ഭാൎയ്യമാരെ എടുക്കയും അവരുടെ പുത്രിമാർ തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരോടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെക്കൊണ്ടു അവരുടെ ദേവന്മാരോടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യിക്കയും ചെയ്‌വാൻ ഇടവരരുതു.

and then you will even take some of his daughters for your sons, and his daughters will prostitute themselves to their gods, and they will make your sons prostitute themselves to their gods.

17 ദേവന്മാരെ വാൎത്തുണ്ടാക്കരുതു.

Do not make for yourselves gods of molten metal.

18 പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പത്തിന്റെ ഉത്സവം നീ ആചരിക്കേണം. ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ആബീബ് മാസത്തിൽ നിശ്ചയിച്ച സമയത്തു ഏഴു ദിവസം പുളിപ്പില്ലാത്ത അപ്പം തിന്നേണം; ആബീബ് മാസത്തിലല്ലോ നീ മിസ്രയീമിൽനിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുപോന്നതു.

You must keep the Festival of Unleavened Bread. As I commanded you, you must eat bread without yeast for seven days at the fixed time in the month of Aviv, for it was in the month of Aviv you came out from Egypt.

19 ആദ്യം ജനിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ ആടുകളുടെയും കന്നുകാലികളുടെയും കൂട്ടത്തിൽ കടിഞ്ഞൂലായ ആൺ ഒക്കെയും എനിക്കുള്ളതു ആകുന്നു.

All the firstborn are mine, even every male firstborn of your cattle, both of oxen and sheep.

20 എന്നാൽ കഴുതയുടെ കടിഞ്ഞൂലിനെ ആട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെക്കൊണ്ടു വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളേണം. വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അതിന്റെ കഴുത്തു ഒടിച്ചുകളയേണം. നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരിൽ ആദ്യജാതനെ ഒക്കെയും വീണ്ടുകൊള്ളേണം. വെറുങ്കയ്യോടെ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരരുതു.

You must buy back the firstborn of a donkey with a lamb, but if you do not buy it back, then you must break its neck. You must buy back all the firstborn of your sons. No one may appear before me empty-handed.

21 ആറു ദിവസം വേല ചെയ്യേണം; ഏഴാം ദിവസം സ്വസ്ഥമായിരിക്കേണം; വിതകാലമോ കൊയ്ത്തുകാലമോ ആയാലും സ്വസ്ഥമായിരിക്കേണം.

You may work for six days, but on the seventh day you must rest. Even at plowing time and in harvest, you must rest.

22 കോതമ്പുകൊയ്ത്തിലെ ആദ്യഫലോത്സവമായ വാരോത്സവവും ആണ്ടറുതിയിൽ കായ്കനിപ്പെരുനാളും നീ ആചരിക്കേണം.

You must observe the Festival of Weeks with the first yield of the wheat harvest, and you must observe the Festival of Ingathering at the year's end.

23 സംവത്സരത്തിൽ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം പുരുഷന്മാരൊക്കയും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായി യഹോവയായ കൎത്താവിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ വരേണം.

Three times a year all your men must appear before Lord Yahweh, the God of Israel.

24 ഞാൻ ജാതികളെ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്നു ഓടിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു നിന്റെ അതൃത്തികളെ വിശാലമാക്കും; നീ സംവത്സരത്തിൽ മൂന്നു പ്രാവശ്യം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ചെല്ലുവാൻ കയറിപ്പോയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു മനുഷ്യനും നിന്റെ ദേശം മോഹിക്കയില്ല.

For I will drive out nations before you and expand your borders. No one will desire to have your land as their own when you go up to appear before Yahweh your God three times in a year.

25 എന്റെ യാഗരക്തം പുളിപ്പുള്ള അപ്പത്തോടുകൂടെ അൎപ്പിക്കരുതു. പെസഹപെരുനാളിലെ യാഗം പ്രഭാതകാലംവരെ വെച്ചേക്കരുതു.

You must not offer the blood of my sacrifice with any yeast, nor may any meat from the sacrifice at the Festival of the Passover be left over to the morning.

26 നിന്റെ നിലത്തിലെ ആദ്യവിളവിന്റെ ആദ്യഫലം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരേണം. കോലാട്ടിൻകുട്ടിയെ അതിന്റെ തള്ളയുടെ പാലിൽ പാകം ചെയ്യരുതു.

You must bring the best of the firstfruits from your fields to my house. You must not boil a young goat in its mother's milk.”

27 യഹോവ പിന്നെയും മോശെയോടു: ഈ വചനങ്ങളെ എഴുതിക്കൊൾക; ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ ആധാരമാക്കി ഞാൻ നിന്നോടും യിസ്രായേലിനോടും നിയമം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Write down these words, for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

28 അവൻ അവിടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിക്കാതെയും വെള്ളം കുടിക്കാതെയും നാല്പതു പകലും നാല്പതു രാവും യഹോവയോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; അവൻ പത്തു കല്പനയായ നിയമത്തിന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ പലകയിൽ എഴുതിക്കൊടുത്തു.

Moses was there with Yahweh for forty days and nights; he did not eat any food nor drink any water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments.

29 അവൻ തന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിമിത്തം തന്റെ മുഖത്തിന്റെ ത്വക്ക് പ്രകാശിച്ചു എന്നു മോശെ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്റെ പലക രണ്ടും കയ്യിൽ പടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു സീനായിപൎവ്വതത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങുമ്പോൾ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant decrees in his hand, he did not know that the skin of his face had become radiant while speaking with God.

30 അഹരോനും യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ എല്ലാവരും മോശെയെ നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ മുഖത്തിന്റെ ത്വക്ക് പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെല്ലുവാൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു.

When Aaron and the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face was shining, and they were afraid to come near him.

31 മോശെ അവരെ വിളിച്ചു; അപ്പോൾ അഹരോനും സഭയിലെ പ്രമാണികൾ ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങി വന്നു; മോശെ അവരോടു സംസാരിചു.

But Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders of the community came up to him. Then Moses spoke with them.

32 അതിന്റെ ശേഷം യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ ഒക്കെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു. സീനായിപൎവ്വതത്തിൽവെച്ചു യഹോവ തന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതൊക്കെയും അവൻ അവരോടു ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു.

After this, all the people of Israel came up to Moses, and he told them all the commands that Yahweh had given him on Mount Sinai.

33 മോശെ അവരോടു സംസാരിച്ചു കഴിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ അവൻ തന്റെ മുഖത്തു ഒരു മൂടുപടം ഇട്ടു.

When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face.

34 മോശെ യഹോവയോടു സംസാരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവന്റെ സന്നിധാനത്തിൽ കടക്കുമ്പോൾ പുറത്തു വരുവോളം മൂടുപടം നീക്കിയിരിക്കും; തന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു അവൻ പുറത്തുവന്നു യിസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറയും.

Whenever Moses went before Yahweh to speak with him, he would remove the veil, until he came out. When he came out, he would tell the Israelites what he was commanded to say.

35 യിസ്രായേൽമക്കൾ മോശെയുടെ മുഖത്തിന്റെ ത്വക്ക് പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നതായി കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു മോശെ അവനോടു സംസാരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അകത്തു കടക്കുവോളം മൂടുപടം പിന്നെയും തന്റെ മുഖത്തു ഇട്ടുകൊള്ളും.

When the Israelites saw Moses' face shining, he would put the veil over his face again until he went back in to speak with Yahweh.
