സെഫന്യാവു 1
1 സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. തന്ത്രിനാദത്തോടെ. ആമോന്റെ മകൻ യോശിയാവ് യെഹൂദാരാജാവായിരുന്നകാലത്ത്, കൂശിയുടെ മകൻ സെഫന്യാവിന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട് ലഭിച്ചു. കൂശി ഗെദല്യാവിന്റെ മകനും ഗെദല്യാവ് അമര്യാവിന്റെ മകനും അമര്യാവ് ഹിസ്കിയാവിന്റെ മകനും ആയിരുന്നു.
The word of the LORD which came unto Zephaniah the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hizkiah, in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah.
2 “ഞാൻ ഭൂമുഖത്തുനിന്ന് സകലത്തെയും നശിപ്പിക്കും,” എന്ന് യഹോവയുടെ അരുളപ്പാട്.
I will utterly consume all things from off the land, says the LORD.
3 “ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരെയും മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യും. ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെയും സമുദ്രത്തിലെ മത്സ്യങ്ങളെയും— ദുഷ്ടരുടെ കാലിടറിക്കുന്ന വിഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയും തൂത്തെറിയും.” “ഞാൻ ഭൂമുഖത്തുനിന്ന് സകലമനുഷ്യരെയും ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ, ഞാൻ, യെഹൂദയ്ക്കുനേരേയും
I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumbling blocks with the wicked: and I will cut off man from off the land, says the LORD.
4 ജെറുശലേമിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന സകലമനുഷ്യർക്കുനേരേയും എന്റെ കരം നീട്ടും,” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു. “ഞാൻ ഈ ദേശത്തുനിന്നു ബാലിന്റെ ആരാധനയുടെ സകലശേഷിപ്പിനെയും വിഗ്രഹാരാധകരായ പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ പേരുകളെയും നീക്കിക്കളയും.
I will also stretch out mine hand upon Judah, and upon all the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place, and the name of the Chemarims with the priests;
5 പുരമുകളിൽ, നക്ഷത്രസമൂഹത്തെ സേവിച്ചുവണങ്ങുന്നവരെയും യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ വണങ്ങുന്നവരെയും ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നവരെയും മോലെക്കിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ ശപഥംചെയ്യുന്നവരെയും
And them that worship the host of heaven upon the housetops; and them that worship and that swear by the LORD, and that swear by Malcham;
6 യഹോവയെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നതിൽനിന്നു പിന്മാറുന്നവരെയും യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുകയോ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്തവരെയുംതന്നെ.”
And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.
7 കർത്താവായ യഹോവയുടെമുമ്പിൽ മൗനമായിരിക്കുക, യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസം സമീപമായിരിക്കുന്നു. യഹോവ ഒരു യാഗം ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു; താൻ ക്ഷണിച്ചവരെ അവിടന്ന് ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
Hold your peace at the presence of the Lord GOD: for the day of the LORD is at hand: for the LORD has prepared a sacrifice, he has bid his guest.
8 “യഹോവയുടെ യാഗദിവസത്തിൽ ഞാൻ അധികാരങ്ങളെയും രാജാവിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും വൈദേശികവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള എല്ലാവരെയും ശിക്ഷിക്കും.
And it shall come to pass in the day of the LORD's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, and the king's children, and all such as are clothed with strange apparel.
9 ആ ദിവസത്തിൽ ഉമ്മറപ്പടി ചാടിക്കടക്കുന്നവരെയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദേവന്മാരുടെ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളെ അതിക്രമംകൊണ്ടും വഞ്ചനകൊണ്ടും നിറയ്ക്കുന്നവരെയും ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിക്കും.”
In the same day also will I punish all those that leap on the threshold, which fill their masters' houses with violence and deceit.
10 യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: “ആ ദിവസം മീൻകവാടത്തിൽനിന്ന് നിലവിളി ഉയരും; പട്ടണത്തിന്റെ പുതിയഭാഗത്തുനിന്ന് വിലാപവും കുന്നുകളിൽനിന്ന് ഝടഝടനാദവും ഉയരും.
And it shall come to pass in that day, says the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills.
11 മക്തേശ് നിവാസികളേ, വിലപിക്കുക, നിങ്ങളുടെ എല്ലാ കച്ചവടക്കാരും ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യപ്പെടും എല്ലാ വെള്ളിവ്യാപാരികളും നശിച്ചുപോകും.
Wail, all of you inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.
12 ആ കാലത്ത് ഞാൻ ജെറുശലേമിൽ വിളക്കുകൾകൊളുത്തി അന്വേഷിക്കും. നിർവികാരികളെയും ഉന്മത്തരായി കിടന്നുകൊണ്ട്, ‘യഹോവ ഗുണമോ ദോഷമോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല’ എന്നു പറയുന്നവരെയും ഞാൻ ശിക്ഷിക്കും.
And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their sediments of wine: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.
13 അവരുടെ സമ്പത്ത് കൊള്ളചെയ്യപ്പെടും അവരുടെ വീടുകൾ ശൂന്യമാക്കപ്പെടും. അവർ വീടുപണിയും എന്നാൽ അവർ അവിടെ പാർക്കുകയില്ല; അവർ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കും എന്നാൽ വീഞ്ഞ് കുടിക്കുകയില്ല.”
Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.
14 യഹോവയുടെ മഹാദിവസം സമീപമായിരിക്കുന്നു— സമീപമായി, അതിവേഗം വരുന്നു. യഹോവയുടെ ദിവസത്തിൽ നിലവിളി ഭയങ്കരമായിരിക്കും; യുദ്ധവീരന്റെ അട്ടഹാസവും അവിടെയുണ്ട്.
The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hastes greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
15 ആ ദിവസം ക്രോധത്തിന്റെ ദിവസം— കഷ്ടത്തിന്റെയും സങ്കടത്തിന്റെയും ദിവസം, ശൂന്യതയുടെയും നാശത്തിന്റെയും ദിവസം, അന്ധകാരത്തിന്റെയും മ്ലാനതയുടെയും ദിവസം, മേഘങ്ങളുടെയും ഇരുട്ടിന്റെയും ദിവസം—
That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
16 കോട്ടയുള്ള നഗരങ്ങൾക്കും ചത്വരങ്ങളിലെ ഗോപുരങ്ങൾക്കും എതിരേ കാഹളത്തിന്റെയും യുദ്ധാരവത്തിന്റെയും ദിവസം.
A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
17 “ഞാൻ ജനത്തിന്റെമേൽ ദുരിതംവരുത്തും; അവർ അന്ധരെപ്പോലെ തപ്പിത്തടഞ്ഞുനടക്കും. അവർ യഹോവയ്ക്കു വിരോധമായി പാപംചെയ്തിരിക്കുകയാൽ അവരുടെ രക്തം പൊടിപോലെയും അവരുടെ മാംസം ചാണകംപോലെയും ചൊരിയപ്പെടും.
And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
18 യഹോവയുടെ ക്രോധദിവസത്തിൽ അവരുടെ വെള്ളിയോ സ്വർണമോ അവരെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ പര്യാപ്തമാകുകയില്ല.” അവിടത്തെ തീക്ഷ്ണാഗ്നിയിൽ സർവലോകവും ദഹിച്ചുപോകും. സകലഭൂവാസികളുടെയുംമേൽ അവിടന്ന് ശീഘ്രസംഹാരം വരുത്തും.
Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD's wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy purging of all them that dwell in the land.
