നെഹെമ്യാവു 7
1 മതിലിന്റെ പുനർനിർമാണം പൂർത്തീകരിച്ച് ഞാൻ അതിനു കതകുകൾ വെക്കുകയും വാതിൽകാവൽക്കാരെയും സംഗീതജ്ഞരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും നിയമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തശേഷം
Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,
2 എന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ഹനാനിക്കൊപ്പം കോട്ടയുടെ അധിപനായ ഹനന്യാവിനും ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ ചുമതല നൽകി. കാരണം, അദ്ദേഹം മറ്റു പലരെക്കാളും വിശ്വസ്തനും ദൈവഭക്തനും ആയിരുന്നു.
That I gave my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the ruler of the palace, charge over Jerusalem: for he [was] a faithful man, and feared God above many.
3 ഞാൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “വെയിൽ ഉറയ്ക്കുന്നതുവരെ ജെറുശലേമിന്റെ കവാടങ്ങൾ തുറക്കരുത്. വാതിലിനു കാവൽ നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾത്തന്നെ അവർ അത് അടച്ച് ഓടാമ്പൽ ഇടണം. ജെറുശലേംനിവാസികളെ കാവൽക്കാരായി നിയമിച്ച്, ഓരോരുത്തരെ അവരവരുടെ സ്ഥാനത്തും അവരുടെ വീടിനുചേർത്തും നിർത്തണം.”
And I said to them, Let not the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun shall be hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar [them]: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, every one in his watch, and every one [to be] over against his house.
4 നഗരം വലിയതും വിശാലവുമായിരുന്നെങ്കിലും നിവാസികൾ ചുരുക്കമായിരുന്നു: വീടുകളൊന്നും പണിതിരുന്നുമില്ല.
Now the city [was] large and great: but the people in it [were] few, and the houses [were] not built.
5 അപ്പോൾ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരെയും ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെയും ജനങ്ങളെയും വിളിച്ചുകൂട്ടി വംശാവലി രേഖപ്പെടുത്താനായി ദൈവം എന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ തോന്നിച്ചു. ആദ്യം മടങ്ങിവന്നവരെക്കുറിച്ച് ഒരു വംശാവലിരേഖ കിട്ടിയതിൽ ഇപ്രകാരം എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നതായി ഞാൻ കണ്ടു:
And my God put into my heart to assemble the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them who came up at the first, and found written in it,
6 ബാബേൽരാജാവായ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ പ്രവിശ്യകളിൽനിന്നു ബാബേലിലേക്കു പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോയിരുന്ന നിവാസികളിൽ, പ്രവാസത്തിൽനിന്നു മടങ്ങിവന്നവർ ഇവരാണ്. അവർ ജെറുശലേമിലും യെഹൂദ്യയിലുമുള്ള തങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.
These [are] the children of the province, that went up out of the captivity, of those that had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and came again to Jerusalem and to Judah, every one to his city;

Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, [I say], of the men of the people of Israel [was this];

The children of Bakbuk, the children of Hakupha, the children of Harhur,
54 ബസ്ളൂത്ത്, മെഹീദ, ഹർശ,
The children of Bazlith, the children of Mehida, the children of Harsha,

The children of Barkos, the children of Sisera, the children of Tamah,

The children of Neziah, the children of Hatipha.

The children of Shephatiah, the children of Hattil, the children of Pochereth of Zebaim, the children of Amon.
60 ആലയത്തിലെ ദാസന്മാരും ശലോമോന്റെ ദാസന്മാരുടെ പിൻഗാമികളെയുംകൂടി 392.
All the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon's servants, [were] three hundred and ninety two.
61 തേൽ-മേലഹ്, തേൽ-ഹർശ, കെരൂബ്, അദ്ദോൻ, ഇമ്മേർ എന്നീ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു വന്നവരാണ് താഴെപ്പറയുന്നവർ; എങ്കിലും, തങ്ങളും തങ്ങളുടെ പിതൃഭവനവും ഇസ്രായേല്യരിൽനിന്നുള്ളവർ എന്നു തെളിയിക്കാൻ അവർക്കു സാധിച്ചില്ല:
And these [were] they who went up [also] from Tel-mela, Tel-haresha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer: but they could not show their fathers house, nor their seed, whether they [were] of Israel.

The children of Delaiah, the children of Tobiah, the children of Nekoda, six hundred and forty two.
63 പുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെ പിൻഗാമികളിൽനിന്ന്: ഹബയ്യാവ്, ഹക്കോസ്സ്, (ഗിലെയാദ്യനായ ബർസില്ലായിയുടെ ഒരു പുത്രിയെ വിവാഹംചെയ്ത് ആ പേരിനാൽ വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ട ഒരാളായ) ബർസില്ലായി എന്നിവരുടെ പിൻഗാമികൾ.
And of the priests: the children of Habaiah, the children of Koz, the children of Barzillai, who took [one] of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite for a wife, and was called after their name.

These sought their register [among] those that were reckoned by genealogy, but it was not found: therefore were they, as polluted, put from the priesthood.

And the Tirshatha said to them, that they should not eat of the most holy things, till there should stand [up] a priest with Urim and Thummim.
66 ആ സമൂഹത്തിന്റെ എണ്ണപ്പെട്ടവർ ആകെ 42,360.
The whole congregation together [was] forty two thousand three hundred and sixty.
67 അതിനുപുറമേ 7,337 ദാസീദാസന്മാരും സംഗീതജ്ഞരായ 245 പുരുഷന്മാരും സ്ത്രീകളും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
Besides their man-servants and their maid-servants, of whom [there were] seven thousand three hundred and thirty seven: and they had two hundred and forty five singing-men and singing-women.
68 736 കുതിര, 245 കോവർകഴുത,
Their horses, seven hundred and thirty six: their mules, two hundred and forty five:
69 435 ഒട്ടകം, 6,720 കഴുത എന്നിവയും അവർക്കുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
[Their] camels, four hundred and thirty five: six thousand seven hundred and twenty asses.
70 കുടുംബത്തലവന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ വേലയ്ക്കായി സംഭാവന നൽകി. ദേശാധിപതി ഖജനാവിൽനിന്ന് 1,000 തങ്കക്കാശും, 50 കിണ്ണങ്ങളും 530 പുരോഹിതവസ്ത്രവും കൊടുത്തു.
And some of the chief of the fathers gave to the work. The Tirshatha gave to the treasure a thousand drams of gold, fifty basins, five hundred and thirty priests' garments.
71 പിതൃഭവനത്തലവന്മാരിൽ ചിലർ വേലയ്ക്കുവേണ്ടി 20,000 തങ്കക്കാശും, 2,200 മിന്നാ വെള്ളിയും ഖജനാവിലേക്കു നൽകി.
And [some] of the chief of the fathers gave to the treasure of the work, twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand and two hundred pounds of silver.
72 ശേഷംജനം കൊടുത്തത് ആകെ 20,000 തങ്കക്കാശ്, 2,000 മിന്നാ വെള്ളി, 67 പുരോഹിതവസ്ത്രങ്ങൾ എന്നിവയായിരുന്നു.
And [that] which the rest of the people gave [was] twenty thousand drams of gold, and two thousand pounds of silver, and sixty seven priests' garments.
73 പുരോഹിതന്മാരും ലേവ്യരും ദ്വാരപാലകരും സംഗീതജ്ഞരും ദൈവാലയദാസന്മാരും ജനത്തിൽ ചിലരും ശേഷംഇസ്രായേലും താന്താങ്ങളുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ താമസമാക്കി. ശേഷിച്ച ഇസ്രായേല്യരെല്ലാം അവരവരുടെ പട്ടണങ്ങളിൽ താമസിച്ചു. ഏഴാംമാസം വന്നപ്പോൾ,
So the priests, and the Levites, and the porters, and the singers, and [some] of the people, and the Nethinims, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities; and when the seventh month came, the children of Israel [were] in their cities.
