ലൂക്കോസ് 5
1 ഒരു ദിവസം യേശു ഗെന്നേസരെത്ത് തടാകതീരത്തു നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ, ജനക്കൂട്ടം ദൈവവചനം കേൾക്കാൻ തിക്കിത്തിരക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
Now it happened, while the people were crowding around Jesus and listening to the word of God, that he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret.
2 അപ്പോൾ വല കഴുകിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന മീൻപിടിത്തക്കാരുടെ രണ്ട് വള്ളം തടാകതീരത്തോട് ചേർന്നു കിടക്കുന്നത് അദ്ദേഹം കണ്ടു.
He saw two boats pulled up by the edge of the lake. The fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.
3 അവയിലൊന്ന് ശിമോന്റേതായിരുന്നു. യേശു അതിൽ കയറിയിട്ട് വള്ളം കരയിൽനിന്ന് അൽപ്പം നീക്കാൻ ശിമോനോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു. അദ്ദേഹം ആ വള്ളത്തിൽ ഇരുന്നുകൊണ്ട് ജനത്തെ ഉപദേശിച്ചു.
Jesus got into one of the boats, which was Simon's, and asked him to put it out in the water a short distance from the land. Then he sat down and taught the people out of the boat.
4 യേശു തന്റെ പ്രഭാഷണം അവസാനിപ്പിച്ചതിനുശേഷം, “നിന്റെ വള്ളം ആഴമുള്ളിടത്തേക്ക് നീക്കി അവിടെ വലയിറക്കുക” എന്ന് ശിമോനോട് കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Take the boat out into the deeper water and let down your nets for a catch.”
5 അതിനു ശിമോൻ, “പ്രഭോ, രാത്രിമുഴുവൻ കഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടിട്ടും ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒന്നും കിട്ടിയില്ല. എങ്കിലും അങ്ങയുടെ വാക്കനുസരിച്ച് ഞാൻ വലയിറക്കാം” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
Simon answered and said, “Master, we worked all night, and caught nothing, but at your word, I will let down the nets.”
6 അവർ അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്തപ്പോൾ വലിയ മീൻകൂട്ടം വലയിൽപ്പെട്ടു; അവരുടെ വല കീറാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
When they had done this, they gathered a very large number of fish, and their nets were breaking.
7 അപ്പോളവർ, മറ്റേ വള്ളത്തിലുള്ള പങ്കാളികൾ വന്നു തങ്ങളെ സഹായിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവരെ ആംഗ്യംകാട്ടി വിളിച്ചു. അവർ വന്നു, രണ്ട് വള്ളങ്ങളും മുങ്ങാറാകുന്നതുവരെ മീൻ നിറച്ചു.
So they motioned to their partners in the other boat that they should come and help them. They came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
8 ഇതു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ ശിമോൻ പത്രോസ് യേശുവിന്റെ കാൽക്കൽവീണ്, “കർത്താവേ, എന്നെവിട്ടു പോകണമേ, ഞാൻ പാപിയായ മനുഷ്യൻ ആകുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.”
9 ശിമോനും ശിമോന്റെ എല്ലാ കൂട്ടുകാരും തങ്ങൾ നടത്തിയ മീൻപിടിത്തത്തെപ്പറ്റി വിസ്മയഭരിതരായിരുന്നു;
For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had taken.
10 സെബെദിയുടെ മക്കളായ യാക്കോബ്, യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നീ പങ്കാളികളും വിസ്മയിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ യേശു ശിമോനോട്, “ഭയപ്പെടരുത്; ഇനിമുതൽ നീ മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവനാകും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
This included James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid, because from now on you will catch men.”
11 അങ്ങനെ, അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ വള്ളങ്ങൾ വലിച്ചു കരയ്ക്കു കയറ്റിയശേഷം എല്ലാം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything and followed him.
12 യേശു ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ ദേഹമാസകലം കുഷ്ഠം നിറഞ്ഞ ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ അവിടെവന്നു. അയാൾ യേശുവിനെ കണ്ടിട്ട് സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണ്, “കർത്താവേ, അങ്ങേക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കാൻ കഴിയും” എന്നപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
It came about that while he was in one of the cities, a man full of leprosy was there. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
13 യേശു കൈനീട്ടി ആ മനുഷ്യനെ തൊട്ടുകൊണ്ട്, “എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ട്, നീ ശുദ്ധനാകുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഉടൻതന്നെ കുഷ്ഠരോഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് അയാൾക്കു സൗഖ്യം ലഭിച്ചു.
Then Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing. Be clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him.
14 അപ്പോൾ യേശു അവനോട്, “ഇത് ആരോടും പറയരുത്, എന്നാൽ നീ പോയി പുരോഹിതനു നിന്നെത്തന്നെ കാണിക്കുക. നീ പൂർണസൗഖ്യമുള്ളവനായി എന്ന് പൊതുജനങ്ങൾക്കു ബോധ്യപ്പെടുന്നതിനായി മോശ കൽപ്പിച്ച വഴിപാടുകൾ അർപ്പിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
He instructed him to tell no one, but told him, “Go on your way, and show yourself to the priest and offer a sacrifice for your cleansing, according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
15 എങ്കിലും അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാർത്ത വളരെ പരന്നു. തൽഫലമായി വലിയ ജനക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ വചനം കേൾക്കാനും തങ്ങളുടെ രോഗസൗഖ്യത്തിനുമായി വന്നുചേർന്നു.
But the report about him spread even farther, and large crowds of people came together to hear him teach and to be healed of their sicknesses.
16 എന്നാൽ, യേശു പലപ്പോഴും വിജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളിലേക്കു പിൻവാങ്ങി പ്രാർഥിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
But he often withdrew into the deserted places and prayed.
17 ഒരു ദിവസം യേശു ഉപദേശിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഗലീലയിലെ എല്ലാ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും യെഹൂദ്യയിൽനിന്നും ജെറുശലേമിൽനിന്നും വന്നെത്തിയ പരീശന്മാരും വേദജ്ഞരും അവിടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. രോഗികളെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കാൻ കർത്താവിന്റെ ശക്തി അദ്ദേഹത്തോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു.
It came about on one of those days that he was teaching, and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there who had come from many different villages in the regions of Galilee and Judea, and also from the town of Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal.
18 അപ്പോൾ ചിലർ ഒരു പക്ഷാഘാതരോഗിയെ കിടക്കയിൽ വഹിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവന്നു. അവനെ യേശു ഇരുന്നിരുന്ന വീടിനുള്ളിൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമുമ്പിൽ കിടത്താൻ ശ്രമിച്ചു.
Now some men came, carrying on a mat a man that was paralyzed, and they looked for a way to bring him inside in order to lay him down in front of Jesus.
19 ജനത്തിരക്കു നിമിത്തം അങ്ങനെ ചെയ്യുക സാധ്യമല്ല എന്നുകണ്ട് അവർ മേൽക്കൂരയിൽ കയറി, ചില ഓടുകൾ നീക്കി അവനെ കിടക്കയോടെ ജനമധ്യത്തിൽ, യേശുവിന്റെ നേരേമുമ്പിൽ ഇറക്കിവെച്ചു.
They could not find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, so they went up to the housetop and let the man down through the tiles, on his mat, into the midst of the people, right in front of Jesus.
20 അവരുടെ വിശ്വാസം കണ്ടിട്ട് യേശു, “സ്നേഹിതാ, നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ മോചിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Seeing their faith, Jesus said, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”
21 എന്നാൽ പരീശന്മാരും വേദജ്ഞരും, “ദൈവത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുന്ന ഇദ്ദേഹം ആരാണ്? പാപങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമിക്കാൻ ദൈവത്തിനല്ലാതെ ആർക്കാണു കഴിയുക?” എന്നു ചിന്തിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
The scribes and the Pharisees began to question this, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
22 അവരുടെ വിചിന്തനം ഗ്രഹിച്ച യേശു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു, “നിങ്ങൾ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഇങ്ങനെ ചിന്തിക്കുന്നതെന്ത്?
But Jesus, perceiving what they were thinking, answered and said to them, “Why are you questioning this in your hearts?
23 ‘നിന്റെ പാപങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു,’ എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ ‘എഴുന്നേറ്റു നടക്കുക,’ എന്നു പറയുന്നതോ ഏതാകുന്നു എളുപ്പം?
Which is easier to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you' or to say 'Get up and walk?'
24 എന്നാൽ, മനുഷ്യപുത്രനു ഭൂമിയിൽ പാപങ്ങൾ ക്ഷമിക്കാൻ അധികാരമുണ്ടെന്ന് നിങ്ങൾ അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.” തുടർന്ന് യേശു ആ പക്ഷാഘാതരോഗിയോട്, “എഴുന്നേറ്റ് നിന്റെ കിടക്കയെടുത്ത് വീട്ടിൽപോകുക” എന്ന് ആജ്ഞാപിച്ചു.
But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,”—he said to the paralysed man—”I tell you, get up, pick up your mat and go to your house.”
25 അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ അയാൾ അവരുടെമുമ്പാകെ എഴുന്നേറ്റുനിന്നു; താൻ കിടന്നിരുന്ന കിടക്കയെടുത്തു; ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.
Immediately he got up in front of them and picked up the mat on which he was lying. Then he went away to his house, glorifying God.
26 എല്ലാവരും വിസ്മയഭരിതരായി ദൈവത്തെ പുകഴ്ത്തി. അവർ ഭയഭക്തിനിറഞ്ഞവരായി, “നാം ഇന്ന് അത്യപൂർവകാര്യങ്ങൾ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
Everyone was amazed and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”
27 ഈ സംഭവത്തിനുശേഷം യേശു പുറത്തേക്കു പോകുമ്പോൾ, ലേവി എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു നികുതിപിരിവുകാരൻ നികുതിപിരിവു നടത്താനിരിക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു. യേശു അയാളോട്, “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുക” എന്നു കൽപ്പിച്ചു.
After these things happened, Jesus went out from there and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax collector's tent. He said to him, “Follow me.”
28 ലേവി എഴുന്നേറ്റ് എല്ലാം ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
So Levi got up and followed him, leaving everything behind.
29 പിന്നീട് ലേവി തന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽ യേശുവിനു വലിയൊരു വിരുന്നുസൽക്കാരം നടത്തി. യേശുവിനോടൊപ്പം നികുതിപിരിവുകാരും മറ്റുപലരും അടങ്ങിയ വലിയൊരു സമൂഹം ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.
Then Levi gave a big banquet in his house for Jesus. There were many tax collectors there and other people who were reclining at the table and eating with them.
30 എന്നാൽ, പരീശന്മാരും അവരുടെ വിഭാഗത്തിൽപ്പെട്ട വേദജ്ഞരും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോട്, “നിങ്ങൾ നികുതിപിരിവുകാരോടും കുപ്രസിദ്ധപാപികളോടുമൊപ്പം ഭക്ഷിച്ചു പാനംചെയ്യുന്നതെന്ത്?” എന്നു ചോദിക്കുകയും പിറുപിറുക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
But the Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and other sinful people?”
31 യേശു അവരോട്, “ആരോഗ്യമുള്ളവർക്കല്ല, രോഗികൾക്കാണ് വൈദ്യനെക്കൊണ്ട് ആവശ്യം.
Jesus answered them, “People who are well do not need a physician; only those who are sick.
32 ഞാൻ നീതിനിഷ്ഠരെയല്ല, പാപികളെയാണ് മാനസാന്തരത്തിലേക്കു വിളിക്കാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
I did not come to call righteous people to repentance, but to call sinners to repentance.”
33 പിന്നൊരിക്കൽ ചിലർ യേശുവിനോട്, “യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കൂടെക്കൂടെ ഉപവസിക്കുകയും പ്രാർഥിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുന്നു; പരീശന്മാരുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരും അങ്ങനെചെയ്യുന്നു. എന്നാൽ അങ്ങയുടെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരാകട്ടെ, ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയും പാനംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
They said to him, “The disciples of John often fast and pray, and the disciples of the Pharisees do the same. But your disciples eat and drink.”
34 അതിന് യേശു, “മണവാളൻ അതിഥികളോടുകൂടെയുള്ളപ്പോൾ വിരുന്നുകാർക്ക് ഉപവസിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമോ?
Jesus said to them, “Can anyone make the wedding attendants of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is still with them?
35 എന്നാൽ മണവാളൻ അവരെ വിട്ടുപിരിയുന്ന കാലം വരും; ആ നാളുകളിൽ അവർ ഉപവസിക്കും” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, then in those days they will fast.”
36 തുടർന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട് ഈ സാദൃശ്യകഥ പറഞ്ഞു: “പുതിയ വസ്ത്രത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു കഷണം കീറിയെടുത്ത് ആരും പഴയത് തുന്നിച്ചേർക്കുന്നില്ല. അങ്ങനെചെയ്താൽ പുതിയ വസ്ത്രം കീറുമെന്നുമാത്രമല്ല പുതിയ തുണിക്കഷണം പഴയതിനോട് ചേരുകയുമില്ല.
Then Jesus also spoke a parable to them. “No one tears a piece of cloth from a new garment and uses it to mend an old garment. If he did that, he would tear the new garment, and the piece of cloth from the new garment would not fit with the cloth of the old garment.
37 ആരും പുതിയ വീഞ്ഞു പഴയ തുകൽക്കുടങ്ങളിൽ സൂക്ഷിക്കാറില്ല; അങ്ങനെചെയ്താൽ പുതുവീഞ്ഞ് അവയെ പിളർക്കും, വീഞ്ഞ് ഒഴുകിപ്പോകുകയും തുകൽക്കുടങ്ങൾ നശിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
No one puts new wine into old wineskins. If he does that, the new wine would burst the skins, and the wine would be spilled, and the wineskins would be destroyed.
38 അരുത്, പുതിയ വീഞ്ഞ് പുതിയ തുകൽക്കുടങ്ങളിലാണ് പകർന്നുവെക്കേണ്ടത്.
But new wine must be put into fresh wineskins.
39 പഴയ വീഞ്ഞു കുടിച്ചതിനുശേഷം ആരും പുതിയത് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നില്ല, ‘പഴയതു തന്നെ മെച്ചം’ എന്നു പറയും.”
No one after drinking old wine wants the new, for he says, 'The old is better.'”
