ആവർത്തനപുസ്തകം 28

1 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ പൂർണമായി അനുസരിക്കുകയും ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന കൽപ്പനകളെല്ലാം ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ പാലിക്കുകയും ചെയ്താൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നെ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള സകലജനതകൾക്കും മീതേ ഉന്നതനാക്കും.

And it shall come to pass, if you shall hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command you this day, that the LORD your God will set you on high above all nations of the earth:

2 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ അനുസരിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ ഈ അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങൾ നിന്റെമേൽ വരികയും നിന്നെ പിൻതുടരുകയും ചെയ്യും.

And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God.

3 നഗരത്തിൽ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും, വയലിൽ നീ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field.

4 നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലം അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും. നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവും കന്നുകാലികളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളും—വളർത്തുമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിലെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളും—അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

Blessed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your ground, and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep.

5 നിന്റെ കുട്ടയും മാവു കുഴയ്ക്കുന്ന തൊട്ടിയും അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

Blessed shall be your basket and your store.

6 നീ അകത്തുവരുമ്പോൾ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും. നീ പുറത്തുപോകുമ്പോൾ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെടും.

Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

7 നിനക്ക് എതിരായി എഴുന്നേൽക്കുന്ന ശത്രുക്കളെ യഹോവ നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തും. അവർ നിന്റെനേരേ ഒരു വഴിയായി വരും. ഏഴുവഴിയായി ഓടിപ്പോകും.

The LORD shall cause your enemies that rise up against you to be smitten before your face: they shall come out against you one way, and flee before you seven ways.

8 യഹോവ നിന്റെ കളപ്പുരകളിലും നീ കൈവെക്കുന്ന സകലത്തിലും അനുഗ്രഹം അയയ്ക്കും. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന ദേശത്തു നിന്നെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കും.

The LORD shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouses, and in all that you set your hand unto; and he shall bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.

9 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കൽപ്പനകൾ പാലിച്ച് അവിടത്തെ വഴികളിൽ നടക്കുമെങ്കിൽ യഹോവ വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്തതുപോലെ നിന്നെ വിശുദ്ധജനമായി അവിടന്ന് സ്ഥിരപ്പെടുത്തും.

The LORD shall establish you an holy people unto himself, as he has sworn unto you, if you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and walk in his ways.

10 അപ്പോൾ ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലജനതകളും നീ യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തിൽ വിളിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞ് അവർ നിന്നെ ഭയപ്പെടും.

And all people of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of you.

11 യഹോവ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാർക്കു നൽകുമെന്നു വാഗ്ദാനംചെയ്ത ദേശത്ത് നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലത്തിലും നിന്റെ കന്നുകാലികളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളിലും നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവുകളിലും യഹോവ നിനക്കു സമൃദ്ധമായ അഭിവൃദ്ധി നൽകും.

And the LORD shall make you abundant in goods, in the fruit of your body, and in the fruit of your cattle, and in the fruit of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore unto your fathers to give you.

12 യഹോവ തന്റെ സ്വർഗീയഭണ്ഡാരം തുറന്ന് യഥാസമയം നിന്റെ ദേശത്തു മഴ നൽകുകയും നിന്റെ കൈകളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികളെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും. നീ അനേകം ജനതകൾക്കു വായ്പ കൊടുക്കും, എന്നാൽ ആരിൽനിന്നും നീ കടം വാങ്ങുകയില്ല.

The LORD shall open unto you his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto your land in his season, and to bless all the work of your hand: and you shall lend unto many nations, and you shall not borrow.

13 ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കൽപ്പനകൾ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുകയും സൂക്ഷ്മതയോടെ അനുസരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെങ്കിൽ നീ എപ്പോഴും മുൻനിരയിലായിരിക്കും; ഒരിക്കലും പിൻനിരയിലാകുകയില്ല. യഹോവ നിന്നെ വാലല്ല, തലയാക്കും.

And the LORD shall make you the head, and not the tail; and you shall be above only, and you shall not be beneath; if that you hearken unto the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day, to observe and to do them:

14 ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും കൽപ്പനയിൽനിന്ന് ഇടത്തോട്ടോ വലത്തോട്ടോ മാറി അന്യദേവന്മാരുടെ പിന്നാലെപോയി അവയെ സേവിക്കരുത്.

And you shall not go aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

15 എന്നാൽ നീ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അനുസരിക്കാതെയും ഇന്നു ഞാൻ നിനക്കു നൽകുന്ന കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും ശ്രദ്ധയോടെ പാലിക്കാതെയും ഇരുന്നാൽ ഈ ശാപങ്ങൾ നിന്റെമേൽ വന്ന് അതു നിന്നെ അധീനപ്പെടുത്തും:

But it shall come to pass, if you will not hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command you this day; that all these curses shall come upon you, and overtake you:

16 നഗരത്തിൽ നീ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും, വയലിൽ നീ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും

Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the field.

17 നിന്റെ കുട്ടയും മാവു കുഴയ്ക്കുന്ന തൊട്ടിയും ശപിക്കപ്പെടും.

Cursed shall be your basket and your store.

18 നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലം ശപിക്കപ്പെടും. നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവും കന്നുകാലികളുടെ കിടാങ്ങളും, വളർത്തുമൃഗങ്ങളുടെ കിടാക്കളും ആട്ടിൻപറ്റത്തിലെ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളും ശപിക്കപ്പെടും.

Cursed shall be the fruit of your body, and the fruit of your land, the increase of your cattle, and the flocks of your sheep.

19 നീ അകത്തുവരുമ്പോൾ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും. നീ പുറത്തുപോകുമ്പോൾ ശപിക്കപ്പെടും.

Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.

20 യഹോവയെ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് നീ ചെയ്ത തിന്മപ്രവൃത്തികൾനിമിത്തം നീ നശിച്ച് വേഗത്തിൽ ശിഥിലമാകുന്നതുവരെ അവിടന്ന് നീ കൈ തൊടുന്ന സകലത്തിന്മേലും ശാപവും വിഭ്രാന്തിയും അസ്വസ്ഥതയും അയയ്ക്കും.

The LORD shall send upon you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand unto in order to do, until you be destroyed, and until you perish quickly; because of the wickedness of your doings, whereby you have forsaken me.

21 നീ അവകാശമാക്കാൻ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്ന ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് നിന്നെ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യുന്നതുവരെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു മഹാവ്യാധി വരുത്തും.

The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto you, until he have consumed you from off the land, where you go to possess it.

22 പനി, നീർവീക്കം, കഠിനചൂട്, വരൾച്ച, പൂപ്പൽ, പുഴുക്കുത്ത് എന്നീ ക്ഷയിപ്പിക്കുന്ന രോഗങ്ങൾ യഹോവ നിനക്കു വരുത്തും. നീ നശിക്കുംവരെ അവ മഹാവ്യാധിയായി നിന്നെ പിൻതുടരും.

The LORD shall strike you with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue you until you perish.

23 നിന്റെ തലയ്ക്കു മുകളിലുള്ള ആകാശം വെങ്കലവും താഴെയുള്ള ഭൂമി ഇരുമ്പും ആയിത്തീരും.

And your heaven that is over your head shall be brass, and the earth that is under you shall be iron.

24 യഹോവ നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെ മഴയെ ധൂളിയും പൊടിയും ആക്കും. നീ നശിക്കുംവരെ അവ ആകാശത്തുനിന്നു നിന്റെമേൽ പെയ്യും.

The LORD shall make the rain of your land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon you, until you be destroyed.

25 യഹോവ ശത്രുക്കളുടെമുമ്പിൽ നിന്നെ തോൽക്കുമാറാക്കും. നീ ഒരു വഴിയായി അവരെ എതിരിടും. ഏഴുവഴിയായി അവരുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിപ്പോകും. നിനക്കു സംഭവിക്കുന്നതു കാണുന്ന ഭൂമിയിലെ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങൾക്കും നീ ഒരു ഭീതിവിഷയമാകും.

The LORD shall cause you to be smitten before your enemies: you shall go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shall be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.

26 നിന്റെ പിണം ആകാശത്തിലെ സകലപക്ഷികൾക്കും ഭൂമിയിലെ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങൾക്കും ഭക്ഷണമായിത്തീരും. അവയെ ഓടിച്ചുകളയാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കുകയില്ല.

And your carcass shall be food unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall frighten them away.

27 യഹോവ നിന്നെ ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ പരുക്കൾ, മൂലവ്യാധി, ചൊറി, ചിരങ്ങ് എന്നീ തീരാവ്യാധികളാൽ ബാധിക്കും.

The LORD will strike you with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof you can not be healed.

28 ഭ്രാന്ത്, അന്ധത, മാനസികവിഭ്രാന്തി എന്നിവയാൽ യഹോവ നിന്നെ ബാധിക്കും.

The LORD shall strike you with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:

29 അന്ധർ ഇരുട്ടിൽ തപ്പുന്നതുപോലെ നീ ഉച്ചസമയത്തു തപ്പിനടക്കും. നിന്റെ വഴികളിലൊന്നും നിനക്കു ഗുണം വരികയില്ല. നീ നിരന്തരം പീഡിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയും കവർച്ചയ്ക്കിരയാകുകയും ചെയ്യും. നിന്നെ വിടുവിക്കാൻ ആരും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.

And you shall grope at noonday, as the blind gropes in darkness, and you shall not prosper in your ways: and you shall be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save you.

30 നീ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെ വിവാഹത്തിനു നിശ്ചയിക്കും. മറ്റൊരുവൻ അവളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുകയും ബലാൽക്കാരംചെയ്യുകയും ചെയ്യും. നീ വീടുപണിയും. എന്നാൽ അതിൽ നീ വസിക്കുകയില്ല. നീ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പു നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കും, എന്നാൽ അതിന്റെ ഫലവും നീ അനുഭവിക്കുകയില്ല.

You shall betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: you shall build an house, and you shall not dwell therein: you shall plant a vineyard, and shall not gather the grapes thereof.

31 നിന്റെ കാളയെ നിന്റെ കൺമുമ്പിൽ അറക്കും, എന്നാൽ നീ അതിന്റെ മാംസം ഭക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല. നിന്റെ കഴുതയെ നിന്നിൽനിന്ന് അപഹരിക്കും. നിനക്കു തിരികെ കിട്ടുകയുമില്ല. നിന്റെ ആടുകൾ നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു സ്വന്തമാകും, അവയെ ആരും രക്ഷിക്കുകയില്ല.

your ox shall be slain before your eyes, and you shall not eat thereof: your ass shall be violently taken away from before your face, and shall not be restored to you: your sheep shall be given unto your enemies, and you shall have none to rescue them.

32 നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരെയും പുത്രിമാരെയും അന്യരാജ്യക്കാർ കൊണ്ടുപോകും. ദിനംതോറും അവരെ കാത്തിരുന്ന് നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾ ക്ഷീണിക്കും, നിന്റെ ശക്തിക്ഷയിച്ച് കരം ചലിപ്പിക്കാൻപോലും സാധിക്കുകയില്ല,

Your sons and your daughters shall be given unto another people, and your eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long; and there shall be no might in your hand.

33 നിന്റെ നിലത്തെ വിളവും അധ്വാനഫലവും നീ അറിയാത്ത ജനത അനുഭവിക്കും, ഞെരുക്കവും പീഡനവും അല്ലാതെ മറ്റൊന്നും നിന്റെ ജീവകാലത്തൊരിക്കലും ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല.

The fruit of your land, and all your labours, shall a nation which you know not eat up; and you shall be only oppressed and crushed always:

34 നീ കാണുന്ന കാഴ്ചകൾ നിന്നെ ഭ്രാന്തനാക്കും.

So that you shall be mad for the sight of your eyes which you shall see.

35 സൗഖ്യമാകാത്ത വേദനയുള്ള പരുക്കളാൽ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളംകാൽമുതൽ നെറുകവരെ കാലിലും മുഴങ്കാലിലും എല്ലാം യഹോവ നിന്നെ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തും.

The LORD shall strike you in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot unto the top of your head.

36 യഹോവ നിന്നെയും നിന്റെമേൽ നിയോഗിച്ച രാജാവിനെയും നീയും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ജനതയുടെ അടുത്തേക്ക് ഓടിച്ചുകളയും. അവിടെ നീ മരവും കല്ലുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ദേവന്മാരെ ആരാധിക്കും.

The LORD shall bring you, and your king which you shall set over you, unto a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known; and there shall you serve other gods, wood and stone.

37 യഹോവ നിന്നെ അയയ്ക്കുന്ന സകലജനതകളുടെയും മധ്യേ നീ ഭീതിവിഷയവും പഴഞ്ചൊല്ലും പരിഹാസവാക്കും ആയിത്തീരും.

And you shall become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations where the LORD shall lead you.

38 നീ വളരെ വിത്ത് വയലിൽ വിതയ്ക്കും, എന്നാൽ വെട്ടുക്കിളികൾ അവ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ അൽപ്പംമാത്രം കൊയ്യും.

You shall carry much seed out into the field, and shall gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.

39 നീ മുന്തിരിത്തോപ്പു നട്ട് കൃഷി ചെയ്യും, എന്നാൽ പുഴു തിന്നുകളയുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് വീഞ്ഞുകുടിക്കുകയോ മുന്തിരി ശേഖരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യുകയില്ല.

You shall plant vineyards, and dress them, but shall neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.

40 നിനക്ക് ദേശത്തെല്ലാം ഒലിവുമരങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടാകും, എന്നാൽ ഒലിവുകായ്കൾ പൊഴിഞ്ഞുപോകുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ എണ്ണ ഉപയോഗിക്കുകയില്ല.

You shall have olive trees throughout all your coasts, but you shall not anoint yourself with the oil; for your olive shall cast his fruit.

41 നിനക്ക് പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും ഉണ്ടാകും: എന്നാൽ അവർ നിനക്കു സ്വന്തമാകുകയില്ല, അവർ അടിമകളായി പോകും.

You shall brought forth sons and daughters, but you shall not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.

42 നിന്റെ ദേശത്തെ വിളവുകളും വൃക്ഷങ്ങളും വെട്ടുക്കിളികളുടെ കൂട്ടം തിന്നുകളയും.

All your trees and fruit of your land shall the locust consume.

43 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ള പ്രവാസി നിനക്കുമീതേ അഭിവൃദ്ധിപ്പെട്ട് ഉയർന്നുവരും, എന്നാൽ നീ ക്ഷയിച്ച് താണുപോകും.

The stranger that is within you shall get up above you very high; and you shall come down very low.

44 അവർ നിനക്കു വായ്പ നൽകും, എന്നാൽ അവർക്കു വായ്പ നൽകാൻ നിനക്കു സാധിക്കുകയില്ല. അവർ തലയും നീ വാലും ആയിരിക്കും.

He shall lend to you, and you shall not lend to him: he shall be the head, and you shall be the tail.

45 ഈ ശാപമെല്ലാം നിന്റെമേൽ വന്നുഭവിക്കും. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകിയ കൽപ്പനകളും ഉത്തരവുകളും പാലിക്കാതെയും അവിടത്തെ അനുസരിക്കാതെയുമിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നീ ഉന്മൂലമാകുന്നതുവരെ അവ നിന്നെ പിൻതുടരുകയും അധീനപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.

Moreover all these curses shall come upon you, and shall pursue you, and overtake you, till you be destroyed; because you hearkened not unto the voice of the LORD your God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded you:

46 അവ നിനക്കും നിന്റെ സന്തതിക്കും ഒരു ചിഹ്നവും അത്ഭുതവും ആയി എന്നേക്കും ഇരിക്കും.

And they shall be upon you for a sign and for a wonder, and upon your seed for ever.

47 നിന്റെ ഐശ്വര്യസമൃദ്ധിയുടെ സമയത്ത് നീ ആഹ്ലാദത്തോടും ആനന്ദത്തോടുംകൂടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ സേവിക്കാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട്,

Because you served not the LORD your God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;

48 വിശപ്പിലും ദാഹത്തിലും നഗ്നതയിലും ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിലും യഹോവ നിനക്കുനേരേ അയയ്ക്കുന്ന ശത്രുക്കളെ നീ സേവിക്കും. അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുവരെ നിന്റെ കഴുത്തിൽ ഇരുമ്പുനുകം വെക്കും.

Therefore shall you serve your enemies which the LORD shall send against you, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in lack of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon your neck, until he have destroyed you.

49 വളരെ അകലെനിന്നും, ഭൂമിയുടെ അറ്റത്തുനിന്നുതന്നെ, കഴുകൻ പറന്നിറങ്ങി വരുന്നതുപോലെ യഹോവ ഒരു ജനതയെ നിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തും. അവർ നീ അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഭാഷ സംസാരിക്കുന്ന ജനതയും

The LORD shall bring a nation against you from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flies; a nation whose tongue you shall not understand;

50 വൃദ്ധരെ ബഹുമാനിക്കുകയോ യുവാക്കളോടു കരുണകാണിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാത്ത ക്രൂരമുഖമുള്ള ജനതയുമാകുന്നു.

A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favour to the young:

51 നീ നശിക്കുംവരെ അവർ നിന്റെ മൃഗഫലവും കൃഷിഫലവും തിന്നും. നീ ശിഥിലമാകുന്നതുവരെ നിന്റെ ധാന്യമോ പുതുവീഞ്ഞോ ഒലിവെണ്ണയോ കാളക്കിടാങ്ങളെയോ കുഞ്ഞാടുകളെയോ നിനക്കു ശേഷിപ്പിക്കുകയില്ല.

And he shall eat the fruit of your cattle, and the fruit of your land, until you be destroyed: which also shall not leave you either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of your cattle, or flocks of your sheep, until he have destroyed you.

52 നിന്റെ ദേശത്ത് എങ്ങും നീ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ഉയരവും ഉറപ്പും ഉള്ള മതിലുകൾ വീഴുന്നതുവരെ അവർ നിന്നെ ഉപരോധിക്കും. നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകിയ ദേശത്ത് എങ്ങുമുള്ള എല്ലാ നഗരങ്ങളിലും നിന്നെ ഉപരോധിക്കും.

And he shall besiege you in all your gates, until your high and fenced walls come down, wherein you trusted, throughout all your land: and he shall besiege you in all your gates throughout all your land, which the LORD your God has given you.

53 ഉപരോധകാലത്തെ ശത്രുവിന്റെ പീഡനത്തിന്റെയും കഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തലിന്റെയും ആധിക്യംനിമിത്തം നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്കു നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ ഗർഭഫലമായ പുത്രന്മാരുടെയും പുത്രിമാരുടെയും മാംസം നീ ഭക്ഷിക്കും.

And you shall eat the fruit of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters, which the LORD your God has given you, in the siege, and in the strictness, wherewith your enemies shall distress you:

54 നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിലുള്ള മൃദുലഹൃദയനും ആർദ്രതയുള്ളവനുമായ പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരനോടും താൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ഭാര്യയോടും ശേഷിക്കുന്ന മക്കളോടും ദയ കാണിക്കാതെ

So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:

55 അവരിൽ ഒരാൾക്കുപോലും താൻ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്ന മക്കളുടെ മാംസം അശേഷം നൽകുകയില്ല. ശത്രു നിന്റെ പട്ടണങ്ങളെയെല്ലാം ഉപരോധിച്ചു പീഡിപ്പിക്കുകയും ദുരിതത്തിലാഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുമൂലം നിനക്ക് ഒരു ശേഷിപ്പും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.

So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he has nothing left him in the siege, and in the strictness, wherewith your enemies shall distress you in all your gates.

56 നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിലുള്ളവളും, ദേഹമാർദവത്താലും കോമളത്വത്താലും ഉള്ളംകാൽ നിലത്തു ചവിട്ടാൻപോലും മടിക്കുന്ന മൃദുലഹൃദയമുള്ളവളും ആർദ്രതയുള്ളവളുമായ സ്ത്രീപോലും, താൻ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്ന ഭർത്താവിനെയും പുത്രീപുത്രന്മാരെയും കരുണയില്ലാതെ നോക്കും.

The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,

57 ശത്രു നിന്റെ നഗരങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നെ ഉപരോധിച്ചു പീഡിപ്പിക്കുകയും ദുരിതത്തിലാഴ്ത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുമൂലം സകലത്തിന്റെയും ദൗർലഭ്യം നിമിത്തം അവൾ തന്റെ ഉദരത്തിൽനിന്നു വരുന്ന മറുപിള്ളയെയും താൻ പ്രസവിക്കുന്ന കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും രഹസ്യമായി ഭക്ഷിക്കും.

And toward her young one that comes out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for lack of all things secretly in the siege and strictness, wherewith your enemy shall distress you in your gates.

58 നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ എന്ന മഹത്ത്വമുള്ളതും ഭയങ്കരവുമായ നാമം ഭയപ്പെട്ട് ബഹുമാനിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്ന സകലവചനങ്ങളും നീ പ്രമാണിക്കണം.

If you will not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD Your GOD;

59 അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്റെയും നിന്റെ സന്തതിയുടെയുംമേൽ അസാധാരണമായ വ്യാധികളും കഠിനവും ദുഃഖകരവും ദീർഘനാളുകൾ നിലനിൽക്കുന്നതുമായ രോഗങ്ങളും അയയ്ക്കും.

Then the LORD will make your plagues wonderful, and the plagues of your seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

60 നീ ഭയപ്പെട്ടിരുന്ന ഈജിപ്റ്റിലെ വ്യാധികളെല്ലാം അവിടന്ന് നിന്റെമേൽ വരുത്തും. അവയിൽനിന്നു നിനക്കൊരു മോചനവും ഉണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.

Moreover he will bring upon you all the diseases of Egypt, which you were afraid of; and they shall cleave unto you.

61 ഈ ന്യായപ്രമാണഗ്രന്ഥത്തിൽ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടില്ലാത്ത സകലവിധ രോഗങ്ങളും അത്യാഹിതങ്ങളും നീ നശിച്ചുതീരുംവരെ യഹോവ നിനക്കു വരുത്തും.

Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon you, until you be destroyed.

62 നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ അനുസരിക്കാത്തതുകൊണ്ട്, ആകാശത്തിലെ നക്ഷത്രങ്ങളെപ്പോലെ അസംഖ്യം ആയിരുന്ന നിങ്ങൾ ചുരുക്കംപേരായി ശേഷിക്കും.

And all of you shall be left few in number, whereas all of you were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because you would not obey the voice of the LORD your God.

63 നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഐശ്വര്യസമൃദ്ധി ഉണ്ടാകാനും എണ്ണത്തിൽ വർധിക്കാനും യഹോവയ്ക്കു പ്രസാദം തോന്നിയതുപോലെ, നിങ്ങൾ അവകാശമാക്കാൻപോകുന്ന ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് നിങ്ങളെ ഉന്മൂലനംചെയ്യാനും ശിഥിലമാക്കാനും നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളയാനും യഹോവയ്ക്കു പ്രസാദമാകും.

And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nothing; and all of you shall be plucked from off the land where you go to possess it.

64 യഹോവ നിങ്ങളെ ഭൂമിയുടെ ഒരറ്റംമുതൽ മറ്റേയറ്റംവരെ ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ചിതറിച്ചുകളയും. അവിടെ നീയും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരും അറിഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ലാത്ത മരവും കല്ലുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള അന്യദേവന്മാരെ നീ ആരാധിക്കും.

And the LORD shall scatter you among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known, even wood and stone.

65 ആ ജനതകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്റെ കാലിനു വിശ്രമം ലഭിക്കുകയില്ല; നീ സ്വസ്ഥത കണ്ടെത്തുകയുമില്ല. അവിടെ യഹോവ നിനക്ക് ഉത്കണ്ഠാകുലമായ മനസ്സും കാത്തിരുന്നു തളർന്ന കണ്ണുകളും ഭീതിനിറഞ്ഞ ഹൃദയവും നൽകും.

And among these nations shall you find no ease, neither shall the sole of your foot have rest: but the LORD shall give you there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

66 അവിടെ നീ നിരന്തരം അനിശ്ചിതത്വത്തിലും രാവും പകലും ഭയത്തിലും ജീവന് ഉറപ്പില്ലാതെയും ജീവിക്കും.

And your life shall hang in doubt before you; and you shall fear day and night, and shall have none assurance of your life:

67 ഹൃദയത്തിൽ നിറയുന്ന ഭീതി നിമിത്തവും കണ്ണുകൊണ്ടു കാണുന്ന കാഴ്ച നിമിത്തവും “സായാഹ്നമായെങ്കിൽ!” എന്നു പ്രഭാതത്തിലും “പ്രഭാതമായെങ്കിൽ!” എന്നു സായാഹ്നത്തിലും നീ പറയും.

In the morning you shall say, Would God it were even! and at even you shall say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of your heart wherewith you shall fear, and for the sight of your eyes which you shall see.

68 നീ ഇനി ഒരിക്കലും തിരിച്ചുപോകരുത് എന്നു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു കൽപ്പിച്ച ഈജിപ്റ്റിലേക്ക് തിരികെ യഹോവ നിന്നെ കപ്പലിൽ കയറ്റി അയയ്ക്കും. അവിടെ നിങ്ങളുടെ സ്ത്രീകളും പുരുഷന്മാരും ദാസന്മാരും ദാസിമാരുമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കു വിൽക്കപ്പെടാൻ തയ്യാറാകും. പക്ഷേ, ആരും നിങ്ങളെ വാങ്ങുകയില്ല.

And the LORD shall bring you into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spoke unto you, You shall see it no more again: and there all of you shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.
